Abstract
Huge amounts of agri-residues generated from food crops and processing are discarded in landfills, causing environmental problems. There is an urgent need to manage them with a green technological approach. Agri-residues are rich in nutrients such as proteins, lipids, sugars, minerals etc., and provide an opportunity for bioconversion into value-added products. Considering the importance of lipase as a biocatalyst for various industrial applications and its growing need for economic production, a detailed review of bioconversion of agri-residues and agro-industrial substrate for the production of lipase from fungal species from a technological perspective has been reported for the first time. Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) flow diagram was used for the identification and selection of articles from ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and Scopus databases from 2010 to 2023 (July), and 108 peer-reviewed journal articles were included based on the scope of the study. The composition of agri-residues/agro-industrial wastes, fungal species, lipase production, industrial/green chemistry applications, and the economic impact of using agri-residues on lipase costs have been discussed. Bioconversion procedure, process developments, and technology gaps required to be addressed before commercialization have also been discussed. This process expects to decrease the environmental pollution from wastes, and low-cost lipase can help in the growth of the bioeconomy.

Abstract
Immobilized lipase is a green and sustainable catalyst for hydrolysis of acidified oil. Glutaraldehyde is widely used for lipase immobilization while the appropriate strategy optimizes the catalytic performance of lipase. In this research, lipase from Candida rugosa (CRL) was immobilized on spherical silica (SiO2) by glutaraldehyde multipoint covalent treatments, including covalent binding method and adsorption-crosslinking method. The enzymatic stability properties and performance in hydrolysis of refined oil and acidified oil were studied. We confirmed that the residual activity decreased while the stability increased because of the influence on secondary structure of lipase after multipoint covalent treatments. In the comparison of different immobilization strategies in multipoint covalent treatment, SiO2-CRL (covalent binding method) showed lower loading capacity than SiO2-CRL (adsorption-crosslinking method), resulting in low activity. However, SiO2-CRL (covalent binding method) showed better reusability and stability. Immobilized lipase via covalent binding method was more potential in the application of catalytic hydrolysis of acidified oils.

Abstract
As some of the most widely used biocatalysts, lipases have exhibited extreme advantages in many processes, such as esterification, amidation, and transesterification reactions, which causes them to be widely used in food industrial production. However, natural lipases have drawbacks in terms of organic solvent resistance, thermostability, selectivity, etc., which limits some of their applications in the field of foods. In this systematic review, the application of lipases in various food processes was summarized. Moreover, the general structure of lipases is discussed in-depth, and the engineering strategies that can be used in lipase engineering are also summarized. The protocols of some classical methods are compared and discussed, which can provide some information about how to choose methods of lipase engineering. Thermostability engineering and solvent tolerance engineering are highlighted in this review, and the basic principles for improving thermostability and solvent tolerance are summarized. In the future, comput er-aided technology should be more emphasized in the investigation of the mechanisms of reactions catalyzed by lipases and guide the engineering of lipases. The engineering of lipase tunnels to improve the diffusion of substrates is also a promising prospect for further enhanced lipase activity and selectivity.

Abstract
CHase catalyzes chlorogenic acid (CGA) hydrolysis to yield equimolar quinic (QA) and caffeic (CA) acids, products of high value and keen industrial interest. We proposed the preparation and characterization of the nonviable mycelium of Aspergillus niger AKU 3302 containing a cell-associated CHase (CHase biocatalyst) for application in hydrolyzing the CGA from yerba mate residues to produce QA and CA. When the vegetative mycelium was heated at 55 °C for 30 min, no loss of CHase activity occurred, but vegetative mycelial growth and spore germination ended. The CHase biocatalyst did not limit mass transfer above 100 strokes min-1. The reaction rate increased with catalyst loading and was kinetically controlled. The CHase biocatalyst exhibited suitable biochemical properties (optimum pH 6.5 at 50 °C) and high thermal stability (remaining stable at up to 50 °C for 8 h). The cations in yerba mate extracts did not affect CHase activity. We observed no apparent loss in the activity of the CHase biocatalyst after even 11 batch cycles of continuous use. The biocatalyst retained 85% of its initial activity after 25 days of storage at pH 6.5 and 5 °C. When a yerba mate extract was passed through a glass column packed with the biocatalyst, an effective bioconversion of CGA into CA and QA occurred. CHase activity produced a natural biocatalysis with considerable operational and storage stability; which capability, being a novel biotechnological process, can be used in the bioconversion of CGA from yerba mate residues into CA and QA at a substantially reduced cost.

Abstract
Oils and grease (O&G) have low affinity for water and represent a class of pollutants present in the dairy industry. Enzyme-mediated bioremediation using biocatalysts, such as lipases, has shown promising potential in biotechnology, as they are versatile catalysts with high enantioselectivity and regioselectivity and easy availability, being considered a clean technology (white biotechnology). Specially in the treatment of effluents from dairy industries, these enzymes are of particular importance as they specifically hydrolyze O&G. In this context, the objective of this work is to prospect filamentous fungi with the ability to synthesize lipases for application in a high-fat dairy wastewater environment. We identified and characterized the fungal species Aspergillus sclerotiorum as a good lipase producer. Specifically, we observed highest lipolytic activity (20.72 U g-1) after 96 h of fermentation using sunflower seed as substrate. The fungal solid fermented was used in the bioremediation in dairy effluent to reduce O&G. The experiment was done in kinetic from 24 to 168 h and reduced over 90% of the O&G present in the sample after 168 h. Collectively, our work demonstrated the efficiency and applicability of fungal fermented solids in bioremediation and how this process can contribute to a more sustainable wastewater pretreatment, reducing the generation of effluents produced by dairy industries.

Abstract
Human milk fat substitutes (HMFS) with triacylglycerol profiles highly similar to those of human milk fat (HMF) play a crucial role in ensuring the supply in infant nutrition. The synthesis of HMFS as the source of lipids in infant formula has been drawing increasing interest in recent years, since the rate of breastfeeding is getting lower. Due to the mild reaction conditions and the exceptionally high selectivity of enzymes, lipase-mediated HMFS preparation is preferred over chemical catalysis especially for the production of lipids with desired nutritional and functional properties. In this article, recent researches regarding enzymatic production of HMFS are reviewed and specific attention is paid to different enzymatic synthetic route, such as one-step strategy, two-step catalysis and multi-step processes. The key factors influencing enzymatic preparation of HMFS including the specificities of lipase, acyl migration as well as solvent and water activity are presented. This review also highlights the challenges and opportunities for further development of HMFS through enzyme-mediated acylation reactions.

Abstract
In this paper, an epoxy-activated cloisite (ECL) was prepared as a new heterofunctional carrier via a reaction between cloisite 30B (CL) and epichlorohydrin and utilized for covalent immobilization of lipase from Candida rugosa. The lipase immobilized on the ECL (LECL) was successfully used in the olive oil hydrolysis, synthesis of isoamyl acetate (banana flavor), and biodiesel production. The TGA, FT-IR, SEM, and XRD were used to characterize CL, ECL, and LECL. The influences of temperature, pH, thermal stability, and storage capacity were examined in the olive oil hydrolysis. The effects of solvent, temperature, time, water content, and substrates molar ratio on the yields of ester and biodiesel were also investigated. In the optimized conditions, the hydrolytic activity of LECL was 1.85 ± 0.05 U/ mg, and the maximum yield of ester and biodiesel was 91.6% and 95.4%, respectively. The LECL showed good thermal stability and storage capacity compared to the free lipase. Additionally, LECL was reusable for both esterification and transesterification after being used for nine cycles.
