Abstract
Patients who present with breast cancer bone metastasis only have limited palliative treatment strategies and efficacious drug treatments are needed. In breast cancer patient data, high levels of the RNA helicase DDX3 are associated with poor overall survival and bone metastasis. Consequently, our objective was to target DDX3 in a mouse breast cancer bone metastasis model using a small molecule inhibitor of DDX3, RK-33. Histologically confirmed live imaging indicated no bone metastases in the RK-33 treated cohort, as opposed to placebo-treated mice. We generated a cell line from a bone metastatic lesion in mouse and found that it along with a patient-derived bone metastasis cell line gained resistance to conventional chemotherapeutics but not to RK-33. Finally, differential levels of DDX3 were observed in breast cancer patient metastatic bone samples. Overall, this study indicates that DDX3 is a relevant clinical target in breast cancer bone metastasis and that RK-33 can be a safe and effective treatment for these patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Auditory Brainstem Implants (ABI) are used to restore hearing in patients lacking appropriate cochlear anatomy and/or cochlear nerve. The objective of this study was to examine the Manufacture and User Facility Device Experience (MAUDE) database to analyze adverse events. STUDY DESIGN This is a study of a multi-institutional database maintained by the US FDA. SETTING A database analysis was performed via collaboration of multiple clinicians at tertiary referral centers. METHODS The MAUDE database was queried for Medical Device Reports (MDRs) relating to ABIs. MDRs were identified using the advanced search term "Implant, Auditory Brainstem" and reviewing all reports with the basic search term "Brainstem Implant". All collected reports were individually reviewed. RESULTS A total of 265 individual patient reports were reviewed, of which 55 reports met inclusion criteria. Reports regarding audiologic outcome included failure to provide hearing benefit (n = 27), implant failure/device malfunction (n = 10), and device non-use (n = 6). Postoperative complications included local skin infection (n = 3), CSF leak (n = 3), elevated ICP (n = 1), surgical site dehiscence (n = 1), swelling (n = 1), seroma formation requiring drainage (n = 1), and meningitis (n = 2). Two patients had dislodged magnets during 1.5 Tesla MRI acquisition. There were 35 instances of full explantation of the device and 1 partial removal; 13 patients had a new device implanted following explantation. CONCLUSIONS Poor hearing results, device failure, and non-use were commonly reported causes for explanation in this analysis. This information can aid physicians in counseling patients and family members and managing device expectations.

Abstract
Targeted cancer therapies have revolutionized the treatment of the disease in the past decade. The tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) class of drugs is a widely used option for treating various cancers. Despite numerous advances, clinical and experimental studies have demonstrated the atherosclerosis-inducing properties of these drugs that can cause adverse cardiovascular events. TKIs also have an atherosclerosis-preventing role in patients with cancer through different mechanisms under various conditions, suggesting that specific drugs play different roles in atherosclerosis regulation. Given these contradictory properties, this review summarizes the outcomes of previously performed clinical and basic experiments and shows how the targeted effects of novel TKIs affect atherosclerosis. Future collaborative efforts are warranted to enhance our understanding of the association between TKIs and atherosclerosis.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Testicular cancer (TC) is the leading cancer in men between 18 and 39 years of age. Current treatment involves tumor resection followed by surveillance and/or one or more lines of cisplatin-based chemotherapy (CBCT) and/or bone marrow transplant (BMT). Ten years after treatment, CBCT has been associated with significant atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (CVD) including myocardial infarction (MI), stroke, and heightened rates of hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes mellitus, and metabolic syndrome (MetS). Additionally, low testosterone levels and hypogonadism contribute to MetS and may further drive CVD. RECENT FINDINGS CVD in TCS has been associated with worse physical functioning accompanied by role limitations, decreased energy, and decreased overall health. Exercise may play a role in ameliorating these effects. Systematic CVD screening practices are needed at TC diagnosis and in survivorship. We encourage a multidisciplinary partnership between primary care physicians, cardiologists, cardio-oncologists, medical oncologists, and survivorship providers to address these needs.

Abstract
ABSTRACT INTRODUCTION: Primary brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer mortality in the United States affecting approximately 90,000 Americans each year. A major complication for brain tumor survivors is acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Currently, there are limited research to provide guidelines for AIS prevention and management in adult brain tumor survivors. The purpose of this review is to discuss the most common risk factors for AIS in adult brain tumor survivors along with best evidence for assessment, screening, and strategies to prevent AIS in this population. METHODS: Relevant literature was identified by searching CINAHL and PubMed databases using the following keywords: "brain tumor survivors," "adults," "stroke," "risk factors," "guidelines," "prevention," and "management". Articles not pertaining to adult brain tumor survivors and AIS were excluded. RESULTS: The location of the tumor, dose, extent, and type of radiation contribute to the development of vascular injury and subsequent carotid stenosis among brain tumor survivors. Endothelial growth factor inhibitor and chemotherapy drugs induces vascular remodeling. Other symptoms such as neurological impairments and co-morbidities are also present among brain tumor survivors. Furthermore, AIS increases from the time of primary brain tumor diagnosis and incidence further increases among patients who were diagnosed with a brain tumor as a child. CONCLUSION: Nurses play a key role in the assessment, prevention, and identifying individuals who are at risk of AIS during brain tumor survivorship. Engaging patients and their caregivers on minimizing their risks of AIS is crucial in the outpatient setting. Annual surveillance visits that include intracranial artery imaging should be used to identify individuals considered most at risk for developing AIS symptoms.

Abstract
The sudden pandemic of SARS-Cov-2 (also known as novel coronavirus disease 2019, COVID-19) poses a severe threat to hundreds of millions of lives in the world. The complete cure of the virus largely relies on the immune system, which becomes particularly a challenge for the cancer subjects, whose immunity is generally compromised. However, in a constant evolving situation, the clinical data on the prevalence of SARS-Cov-2 for cancer patients is still limited. On top of a wide range of medical references and interim guidelines including CDC, NCI, ASCO, ESMO, NCCN, AACR, ESMO, and the National Health Commission of China, etc., we formed into a guideline based on our experience in our specialized cancer hospital in Wuhan, the originally endemic center of the virus. Furthermore, we formulated an expert consensus which was developed by all contributors from different disciplines after fully discussion based on our understanding and analysis of limited information of COVID-19. The consensus highlighted a multidisciplinary team diagnostic model with assessment of the balance between risks and benefits prior to treatment, individualizing satisfaction of patients' medical needs, and acceptability in ethics and patients' socio-economic conditions.
