Determination triazine pesticides in cereal samples based on single-hole hollow molecularly imprinted microspheres

Rapid quantification of 2,4-dichlorophenol in river water samples using molecularly imprinted polymers coupled to ambient plasma mass spectrometry

Rapid quantification of environmental pollutants is important for water quality control and environmental monitoring. In this work, we report the development of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) obtained from poly(methyl vinyl ether-alt-maleic acid) polymer. The synthesized materials were used for selective preconcentration of 2,4-dichlorophenol, a priority pollutant which creates a threat to public health. The structure of poly(methyl vinyl ether-alt-maleic acid) was functionalized with 4-aminomethylpyridine (4-AMP) to incorporate pyridine groups presumably responsible for increased affinity towards 2,4-dichlorophenol. The synthesis was performed with different degree (10%, 20% and 30%) of 4-AMP functionalization to investigate the influence of pyridine group content on the final MIPs properties. The molecular imprinting process was conducted by amidation of polymers' anhydride groups with diethylenetriamine. Moreover, the experimental data indicated that maximum adsorption capacity was observed for the highest 4-AMP functionalization degree. Similarly, MIPs with the highest 4-AMP content proved to possess the highest selectivity towards the analyte. Finally, the functionalized MIPs were used to quantify 2,4-dichlorophenol by their direct introduction into a specially designed ambient mass spectrometry setup. The detection limits were improved significantly over the ones measured for pure analyte solution. The proposed analytical technique was used to quantify 2,4-dichlorophenol in river water and wastewater samples. Good recovery results were obtained, which proves that the method can be used for analysis of complex real-life samples.

Determination of free fatty acids in Antarctic krill meals based on matrix solid phase dispersion

Amino-modified mesoporous silicawas prepared by modifying mesoporous silica with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane and used as adsorbents in matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD) to analyze free fatty acids (FFAs) in krill meals for the first time. The adsorption-desorption experiments and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy showed amino-modified mesoporous silica with ordered mesoporous structure was successfully synthesized. The adsorption experiments including static and dynamic adsorption showed thatabsorption capacity of amino-modified mesoporous silica towards FFAs was better than that of aminated silicon microspheres at all concentrations. Under optimal extraction conditions, outstanding linearity (0.1-12000 nmol g^-1), low LODs (0.05-1.25 nmol g^-1), satisfactory recoveries (82.17-96.43%) and precisions (0.19-5.26%) were obtained. Moreover, the application of MSPD for FFAs analysis avoided complicated lipid extraction procedures and accomplished the homogenization, crushing, extraction and cleaning of the samples in one step. Consequently, this approach provides an alternative choice to the existing approach for analyzing FFAs in solid and semi-solid samples.

Hollow porous molecularly imprinted polymers as emerging adsorbents

Hollow porous molecularly imprinted polymers (HPMIPs) are identified as promising adsorbents with many advantageous properties (e.g., large number of imprinted cavities, highly accessible binding sites, controllable pore structure, and fast mass transfer). Because of such properties, HPMIPs can exhibit improved binding capacity and kinetics to make analyte molecules readily interact with a greater number of recognition sites on the imprinted shell. This review highlights the synthesis and utility of HPMIPs as adsorbents to cover diverse targets of interest (e.g., endocrine disrupting chemicals, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and heavy metal ions). The overall potential of HPMIPs is thus discussed in the context of analytical chemistry with particular focus on the efficient extraction of trace-level targets from complex matrices.

Factors Affecting Preparation of Molecularly Imprinted Polymer and Methods on Finding Template-Monomer Interaction as the Key of Selective Properties of the Materials

Molecular imprinting is a technique for creating artificial recognition sites on polymer matrices that complement the template in terms of size, shape, and spatial arrangement of functional groups. The main advantage of Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIP) as the polymer for use with a molecular imprinting technique is that they have high selectivity and affinity for the target molecules used in the molding process. The components of a Molecularly Imprinted Polymer are template, functional monomer, cross-linker, solvent, and initiator. Many things determine the success of a Molecularly Imprinted Polymer, but the Molecularly Imprinted Polymer component and the interaction between template-monomers are the most critical factors. This review will discuss how to find the interaction between template and monomer in Molecularly Imprinted Polymer before polymerization and after polymerization and choose the suitable component for MIP development. Computer simulation, UV-Vis spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Proton-Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (¹H-NMR) are generally used to determine the type and strength of intermolecular interaction on pre-polymerization stage. In turn, Suspended State Saturation Transfer Difference High Resolution/Magic Angle Spinning (STD HR/MAS) NMR, Raman Spectroscopy, and Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) and Fluorescence Spectroscopy are used to detect chemical interaction after polymerization. Hydrogen bonding is the type of interaction that is becoming a focus to find on all methods as this interaction strongly contributes to the affinity of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs).

Recent advances in the extraction of triazine herbicides from water samples

Pesticides are excessively used in agriculture to improve the quality of crops by eliminating the negative effects of pests. Among the different groups of pesticides, triazine pesticides are a group of compounds that contain a substituted C₃ H₃ N₃ heterocyclic ring, and they are widely used. Triazine pesticides can be dangerous for humans as well as for the aquatic environment because of their high toxicity and endocrine disrupting effect. However, the concentration of these chemical compounds in water samples is low. Moreover, other compounds that may exist in the water samples can interfere with the determination of triazine pesticides. As a result, it is important to develop sample preparation methods that provide preconcentration of the target analyte and sufficient clean-up of the samples. Recently, a wide variety of novel microextraction and miniaturized extraction techniques (e.g., solid-phase microextraction and liquid-phase microextraction, stir bar sorptive extraction, fabric phase sorptive extraction, dispersive solid-phase extraction, and magnetic solid-phase extraction) have been developed. In this review, we aim to discuss the recent advances regarding the extraction of triazine pesticides from environmental water samples. Emphasis will be given to novel sample preparation methods and novel sorbents developed for sorbent-based extraction techniques.

Visible-light-driven photoelectrochemical sensing platform based on BiOI nanoflowers/TiO2 nanotubes for detection of atrazine in environmental samples

In this work, a visible-light-driven photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensing platform was developed based on BiOI nanoflowers/TiO₂ nanotubes (BiOI NFs/TiO₂ NTs) for detection of atrazine (ATZ). The BiOI NFs/TiO₂ NTs p-n heterojunctions synthesized by decorating BiOI NFs on TiO₂ NTs via simple hydrothermal approach exhibit strong visible-light absorption ability, high photocurrent response and PEC activity. Thus BiOI NFs/TiO₂ NTs heterostructures were first explored to act as the photoelectrode for the immobilization of the anti-ATZ aptamer to develop a PEC sensing platform. The design PEC aptasensing platform exhibits prominent analytical performance for determination of ATZ with a low detection limit of 0.5 pM under visible-light irradiation, and displays good selectivity for ATZ in the control experiments. The superior behavior of the sensing platform could be ascribed to the design of the appropriate sensing material with tubular microstructure, excellent PEC response of the photoelectrode, and the large loading amount of aptamer. Meanwhile, the PEC sensing platform was used to determine ATZ in environmental samples and a satisfied result was obtained.

Nanomaterial-enhanced 3D-printed sensor platform for simultaneous detection of atrazine and acetochlor

The widespread use of herbicides in agriculture and gardening causes environmental and safety issues such as water pollution. Thus, efficient and convenient analysis of the levels of herbicide residues is of significant importance. Here, we employed 3D-printing to design a multiplex immunosensor for simultaneous detection of two widely used herbicides, atrazine and acetochlor. Multiplexing was achieved through customization of a lateral flow immunoassay, and then integrated with an electrochemical analyzer for ultrasensitive detection. Quantification of herbicide residues was realized through the detection of a novel nanomaterial label, the mesoporous core-shell palladium@platium nanoparticle (Pd@Pt NP), for its outstanding peroxidase-like property. During the electrochemical analysis, the catalytic activity of Pd@Pt NPs on the redox reaction between thionin acetate and hydrogen peroxide provided an electrochemically driven signal that accurately indicated the level of herbicide residues. Using this Nanomaterial-enhanced multiplex electrochemical immunosensing (NEMEIS) system, simultaneous detection of atrazine and acetochlor was realized with a limit of detection of 0.24 ppb and 3.2 ppb, respectively. To further evaluate the feasibility, the optimized NEMEIS was employed for detection in atrazine and acetochlor residue-containing spiked samples, and an overall recovery with 90.8% - 117% range was obtained. The NEMEIS constructed with the aid of 3D-printing provides a rapid, precise, economical, and portable detection device for herbicides, and its success suggests potential broad applications in chemical analysis, biosensors and point-of-care monitoring.

Recent advances and applications of molecularly imprinted polymers in solid-phase extraction for real sample analysis

Sample pretreatment is essential for the analysis of complicated real samples due to their complex matrices and low analyte concentrations. Among all sample pretreatment methods, solid-phase extraction is arguably the most frequently used one. However, the majority of available solid-phase extraction adsorbents suffer from limited selectivity. Molecularly imprinted polymers are a type of tailor-made artificial antibodies and receptors with specific recognition sites for target molecules. Using molecularly imprinted polymers instead of conventional adsorbents can greatly improve the selectivity of solid-phase extraction, and therefore molecularly imprinted polymer-based solid-phase extraction has been widely applied to separation, clean up and/or preconcentration of target analytes in various kinds of real samples. In this article, after a brief introduction, the recent developments and applications of molecularly imprinted polymer-based solid-phase extraction for determination of different analytes in complicated real samples during the 2015-2020 are reviewed systematically, including the solid-phase extraction modes, molecularly imprinted adsorbent types and their preparations, and the practical applications of solid-phase extraction to various real samples (environmental, food, biological, and pharmaceutical samples). Finally, the challenges and opportunities of using molecularly imprinted polymer-based solid-phase extraction for real sample analysis are discussed.

Development of a reliable bioanalytical method based on prostate specific antigen trapping on the cavity of molecular imprinted polymer towards sensing of PSA using binding affinity of PSA-MIP receptor: A novel biosensor

In this study, electrically-conducting poly [Toluidine Blue (PTB)] was applied as artificial receptor. It was organized by molecular imprinting approaches and via electrochemical technique for the sensitive monitoring of prostate-specific antigen (PSA). The protein-imprinted PTB was electropolymerized in a pre-formed glutaraldehyde-cysteamine (GA-Cys A) matrix on the surface of gold electrode, which significantly boosted the stability against degradation of the Molecular Imprinted Polymer (MIP) on the surface of pre-modified gold electrode. Moreover, the MIP bio-receptor ability towards protein recognition was explored by some electrochemical techniques. The binding affinity of MIP system was considerably upper than that of non-imprinted polymer (NIP) system, indicating the success of the method in generating imprinted materials that was specifically use to PSA protein. The incubation of the MIP modified electrode in various concentration of PSA (from 1-60 μg/L) resulted in the increase of the Fe (CN)₆^3-/4- redox peak current. The bio-device also showed linear response from 1-60 μg/L and LLOQ of 1 μg/L by using DPV technique, leading to PSA monitoring in clinical samples. The proposed MIP-based biosensor was satisfactorily applied to the determination of PSA in human plasma samples. Therefore, the developed bio-device provides a new approach for sensitive, simple, rapid, and cost-effective monitoring of 1 μg/L of PSA. Notably, this approach could appear as an appropriate candidate for point-of-care (POC) use in clinical and biomedical analyses.

Microsphere Polymers in Molecular Imprinting: Current and Future Perspectives

Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are specific crosslinked polymers that exhibit binding sites for template molecules. MIPs have been developed in various application areas of biology and chemistry; however, MIPs have some problems, including an irregular material shape. In recent years, studies have been conducted to overcome this drawback, with the synthesis of uniform microsphere MIPs or molecularly imprinted microspheres (MIMs). The polymer microsphere is limited to a minimum size of 5 nm and a molecular weight of 10,000 Da. This review describes the methods used to produce MIMs, such as precipitation polymerisation, controlled/'Living' radical precipitation polymerisation (CRPP), Pickering emulsion polymerisation and suspension polymerisation. In addition, some green chemistry aspects and future perspectives will also be given.

One-step synthesized magnetic MIL-101(Cr) for effective extraction of triazine herbicides from rice prior to determination by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry

The magnetic metal-organic framework MIL-101(Cr) material-based solid-phase extraction method coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry was applied to extract seven triazine herbicides in rices. Fe₃ O₄ /MIL-101(Cr) was synthesized using reduction-precipitation method, in which steps including pre-synthesis and modification of Fe₃ O₄ nanoparticles were by-passed. Various parameters including extraction solvent type and volume, ultrasonic extraction time, amount of Fe₃ O₄ /MIL-101(Cr) microspheres, adsorption time, desorption volume and time were investigated. Under optimal conditions, the proposed method had the limit of detection (S/N = 3) and the limit of quantification (S/N = 10) of 1.08-18.10 and 3.60-60.20 pg/g, respectively. Relative standard deviations calculated for all herbicides with concentrations of 2 and 20 ng/g were in the range of 0.5 to 13% (n = 3). In addition, at the two above-mentioned concentrations, the method achieved relative recoveries percentages of 79.3 to 116.7% when applied to determine the triazine herbicides in real samples spiked. This rapid, green, non-polluting, pre-concentrated extraction method was successfully developed and applied to analyze herbicides in rice samples.

Dual-template imprinted polymers for class-selective solid-phase extraction of seventeen triazine herbicides and metabolites in agro-products

A novel dual-template molecularly imprinted polymer (DMIP) was prepared with atrazine and prometryn as the template and applied as a class-specific adsorbent for simultaneously selective solid-phase extraction of seventeen triazine herbicides and metabolites from complex matrices. For comparison, a non-imprinted polymer (NIP) and two single-template imprinted polymers (SMIPs) were also synthesized using the same procedure of DMIP, but in the absence of the template (NIP) or with one template (SMIP). Various parameters affecting the extraction performance of DMIP-SPE were investigated in detail. Under the optimum conditions, the enrichment efficiency, class-selectivity and reusability of DMIP-SPE were evaluated. Only DMIP-SPE possessed high affinity and good selective recognition ability for all the seventeen targets including chloro-, thiomethyl- and methoxy- triazines. Further, a DMIP-SPE-LC-MS/MS method was developed for simultaneously determining trace triazine herbicides and metabolites in maize, wheat and cottonseed samples. The method showed good linearity (r>0.9941) in the range of 10-200 μg kg^-1, high sensitivity with low limits of detection of 0.5-8.8 μg kg^-1, and satisfactory recoveries of 61.3-105.9% with relative standard deviations of 2.1-10.7%. These results highlighted the good application prospect of the multi/dual-template imprinting strategy in the high-throughput analysis of various concerned contaminants in agro-products.

Identification of intermediates, acute toxicity removal, and kinetics investigation to the Ametryn treatment by direct photolysis (UV254), UV254/H2O2, Fenton, and photo-Fenton processes

This paper reports the degradation of 10 mg L^-1 Ametryn solution with different advanced oxidation processes and by ultraviolet (UV₂₅₄) irradiation alone with the main objective of reducing acute toxicity and increase biodegradability. The investigated factors included Fe²⁺ and H₂O₂ concentrations. The effectiveness of the UV₂₅₄ and UV₂₅₄/H₂O₂ processes were investigated using a low-pressure mercury UV lamp (254 nm). Photo-Fenton process was explored using a blacklight blue lamp (BLB, λ = 365 nm). The UV₂₅₄ irradiation process achieved complete degradation of Ametryn solution after 60 min. The degradation time of Ametryn was greatly improved by the addition of H₂O₂. It is worth pointing out that a high rate of Ametryn removal was attained even at low concentrations of H₂O₂. The kinetic constant of the reaction between Ametryn and HO^● for UV₂₅₄/H₂O₂ was 3.53 × 10⁸ L mol^-1 s^-1. The complete Ametryn degradation by the Fenton and photo-Fenton processes was observed following 10 min of reaction for various combinations of Fe²⁺ and H₂O₂ under investigation. Working with the highest concentration (150 mg L^-1 H₂O₂ and 10 mg L^-1 Fe²⁺), around 30 and 70% of TOC removal were reached within 120 min of treatment by Fenton and photo-Fenton processes, respectively. Although it did not obtain complete mineralization, the intermediates formed in the degradation processes were hydroxylated and did not promote acute toxicity of Vibrio fischeri. Furthermore, a substantial improvement of biodegradability was obtained for all studied processes.

An ionic liquid-magnetic graphene composite for magnet dispersive solid-phase extraction of triazine herbicides in surface water followed by high performance liquid chromatography

A new ionic liquid-magnetic graphene (IL-MG) composite was used as the adsorbent in magnetic dispersive solid-phase extraction to rapidly extract and isolate triazine herbicides from surface water. IL-MG was synthesized by a simple and time-saving one-pot strategy where the synthesis of magnetic Fe₃O₄, the modification with an IL, and the reduction of graphene oxide to graphene were conducted at the same time. An IL was applied to enrich the interaction mechanism between IL-MG and analytes (π-π, hydrophobic interaction, and electrostatic interaction). Moreover, the IL and Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles acted as spacers, inserting between the layers of graphene to prevent the aggregation of graphene, which improved the adsorption ability because of the large specific surface area of IL-MG. The resultant IL-MG had hierarchical flake structures and showed a high adsorption capacity (8266.0-12 324.1 μg g^-1) toward triazine herbicides. Under suitable conditions, the linearity for triazine herbicides was achieved in the range of 0.55-500 ng mL^-1 with a detection limit of 0.09-0.15 ng mL^-1 and a quantitation limit of 0.31-0.51 ng mL^-1, and the enrichment factor was 83-fold, which indicated that the proposed method could be successfully applied for the determination of triazine herbicides in surface water.

Molecularly imprinted polymers for the detection of illegal drugs and additives: a review

This review (with 154 refs.) describes the current status of using molecularly imprinted polymers in the extraction and quantitation of illicit drugs and additives. The review starts with an introduction into some synthesis methods (lump MIPs, spherical MIPs, surface imprinting) of MIPs using illicit drugs and additives as templates. The next section covers applications, with subsections on the detection of illegal additives in food, of doping in sports, and of illicit addictive drugs. A particular focus is directed towards current limitations and challenges, on the optimization of methods for preparation of MIPs, their applicability to aqueous samples, the leakage of template molecules, and the identification of the best balance between adsorption capacity and selectivity factor. At last, the need for convincing characterization methods, the lack of uniform parameters for defining selectivity, and the merits and demerits of MIPs prepared using nanomaterials are addressed. Strategies are suggested to solve existing problems, and future developments are discussed with respect to a more widespread use in relevant fields. Graphical abstract This review gives a comprehensive overview of the advances made in molecularly imprinting of polymers for use in the extraction and quantitation of illicit drugs and additives. Methods for syntheses, highlighted applications, limitations and current challenges are specifically addressed.

Newest applications of molecularly imprinted polymers for extraction of contaminants from environmental and food matrices: A review

This paper presents an overview of the recent applications of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) to sample preparation. The review is thought to cover analytical procedures for extraction of contaminants (mainly illegal/noxious organic compounds) from food and environmental matrices, with a particular focus on the various pre-concentration/cleanup techniques, that is offline and online solid-phase extraction (SPE), dispersive SPE (d-SPE), magnetic SPE (MSPE), solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and stir-bar sorptive extraction (SBSE), applied before instrumental quantification. The selectivity and extraction efficiency of MIP-based sorbent phases are critically discussed, also in relation to the physical-chemical properties resulting from the synthetic procedures. A variety of molecularly imprinted sorbents is presented, including hybrid composites embedding carbon nanomaterials and ionic liquids. The analytical performance of MIP materials in sample preparation is commented as function of the complexity of the matrix, and it is compared to that exhibited by (commercial) aspecific and/or immunosorbent phases.

Selective determination of sulfonamides from environmental water based on magnetic surface molecularly imprinting technology

In the study, a simple and selective method based on magnetic separation technology is presented for the extraction of sulfonamides (SAs) from environmental water, followed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. In this method, magnetic surface molecularly imprinted polymers (Fe₃O₄@SiO₂@MIPs) with super-paramagnetic property and high selectivity toward SAs were developed as magnetic adsorbents. The Fe₃O₄@SiO₂@MIPs were then applied to the selective extraction of SAs from environmental water. The extraction and enrichment were accomplished simultaneously in a single step by simply stirring the mixture of adsorbents and water samples. The Fe₃O₄@SiO₂@MIPs were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectrometry, and vibrating sample magnetometry. The adsorption thermodynamics and kinetics were employed to study the adsorption mechanism of the Fe₃O₄@SiO₂@MIPs. And the matrix effect of the method was evaluated. Calibration curves obtained by analyzing matrix-matched standards show excellent linear relationship (R = 0.9994-0.9999) in the concentration range of 10-1000 ng L^-1, and the limits of detection are in the range of 1.4-2.8 ng L^-1. The relative standard deviations of intra- and inter-day obtained are in the range of 2.8 to 7.8 and 3.1 to 7.9%, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied to determine SAs in six environmental water samples, and SAs were detectable in four of them with the concentration from 10.5 to 120.2 ng L^-1.

Ionic Liquid-Hybrid Molecularly Imprinted Material-Filter Solid-Phase Extraction Coupled with HPLC for Determination of 6-Benzyladenine and 4-Chlorophenoxyacetic Acid in Bean Sprouts

A new method involving ionic liquid-hybrid molecularly imprinted material-filter solid-phase extraction coupled to high-performance liquid chromatography (IL-HIM-FSPE-HPLC) was developed for the simultaneous isolation and determination of 6-benzyladenine (6-BA) and 4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid (4-CPA) in bean sprouts. Sample preconcentration was performed using a modified filter, with the new IL-HIM as the adsorbent, which shows double adsorption. The first adsorption involves special recognition of molecular imprinting, and the second involves ion exchange and electrostatic attraction caused by the ionic liquid. This method combines the advantages of ionic liquids, hybrid materials, and molecularly imprinted polymers and was successfully applied to determine 6-BA and 4-CPA in bean sprouts. The adsorption of 6-BA to IL-HIM is based on selective imprinted recognition, whereas the adsorption of 4-CPA is mainly dependent on ion-exchange interactions.

Removal of triazine-based herbicides on specific polymeric sorbent: fixed bed column studies

The porous material containing carboxyl groups was investigated in fixed bed system for the triazine-based herbicides removal from aqueous solution. In order to obtain adsorbent capable of generating specific interactions with triazines, the poly(divinylbenzene) was synthesized in radical suspension polymerization and then was modified with maleic anhydride in Diels-Alder reaction with subsequent base hydrolysis. The introduction of carboxyl groups into polymer structure resulted in obtaining specific interactions, such as hydrogen bonds between modified poly(divinylbenzene) and triazines, therefore the selectivity and the high adsorption capacity towards terbuthylazine, propazine, atrazine and simazine was observed. The total and usable adsorptive capacities, the breakthrough and exhaustion times, the coefficients of sphericity of isoplanes, the heights of adsorption fronts and the mass exchange moving rates were calculated based on the analysis of the breakthrough curves. Results show that the best sorption parameters in dynamic conditions were achieved for terbuthylazine and propazine. For them the highest values of adsorptive capacities, the smallest heights of mass transfer fronts and their slow movement along the bed height were obtained. The use of ethanol for herbicides elution provided a high recovery degree of adsorbed substances. Reusability of investigated polymer bed was studied in three adsorption/desorption cycles.

Evaluation of flow injection analysis method with spectrophotometric detection for the determination of atrazine in soil extracts

A method for determining atrazine in soil extracts was evaluated by flow injection analysis with spectrophotometric detection. The method is based on the reaction of atrazine with pyridine in an acid medium followed by the reaction with NaOH and sulfanilic acid. Several analytical conditions were previously studied and optimized. Under the best conditions of analysis, the limits of detection and quantification were 0.15 and 0.45 mg L(-1), respectively, for a linear response between 0.50 and 2.50 mg L(-1), and a sampling throughput of 21 determinations per hour. Using the standard addition method, the maximum relative standard deviation of 17% and recovery values between 80 and 100% were observed for three extracts from soil samples with different composition. The proposed method is simple, low-cost and easy to use, and can be employed for studies involving atrazine in soil samples or for screening of atrazine in soils.
