Abstract
Improving water droplet deposition on superhydrophobic surfaces is essential in many agricultural and industrial spraying processes. Adding surfactants is generally considered a simple way to enhance the wetting ability of droplets on surfaces. However, finding effective surfactants for the deposition and spread of high-speed impacting droplets on superhydrophobic surfaces remains a challenge. Here, we propose a model to predict the deposition results of impacting droplets on superhydrophobic surfaces by studying the droplets containing a series of asymmetric double-chain quaternary ammonium ionic surfactants with different chain lengths. By introducing the molecular diffusion rate, the ability of molecules to reduce surface tension, as well as the stability of aggregates into the model, the impact outcomes of surfactant droplets on the superhydrophobic surface are described and predicted. This study provides a beneficial blueprint for the selection of surfactants and the control of droplet impact behavior on superhydrophobic surfaces.

Abstract
A versatile dispersant plays a critical role in suspension stability of pesticide aqueous suspension concentrate (SC), thus it is extremely important to design and synthesize an effective dispersant for SC. Herein, nonionic trimeric nonylphenol polyoxyethylene (10) (TNP10) was successfully synthesized using nonylphenol polyoxyethylene(10) ethers (NP10) as raw materials. The surface activities of TNP10 were evaluated according to critical micelle concentration (CMC), and the surface tension at CMC (γCMC). TNP10 showed higher surface activity due to its lower CMC value compared with that of NP10. In addition, the dispersing and stabilizing properties of TNP10 in 25 wt.% pyraclostrobin SC system were investigated. The results showed that TNP10 as a dispersant exhibited more excellent dispersion performance than NP10. Meanwhile, the obtained SC system exhibits shear thinning behavior under high-speed shearing showing typical features of pseudo-plastic non-Newtonian fluids, which conforms to the Herschel-Buckley model. The nonionic trimeric nonylphenol polyoxyethylene (10 can effectively improve the surface activities and the suspension rate and stability of SC compared with its monomer NP10.

Abstract
The present study deals with the synthesis, characterization, physical and thermodynamic properties of a novel anionic surfactant derived from Sapindus laurifolius for its potential application against conventional non-biodegradable surfactants. The synthesized surfactant was characterized by FTIR, GC-MS, EDX and FE-SEM analyses. The surfactant showed good thermal stability at different temperatures as obtained from TGA studies. Critical micelle concentration (CMC) values were obtained by surface tensiometry measurements. DLS studies revealed the micelle structures of the CMC aggregates at higher concentrations. Low interfacial tension values were obtained at the oil–aqueous interfaces for surfactant solutions. The effect of temperature on the interfacial behaviour was also investigated. Thermodynamic studies showed that adsorption was more favoured in comparison to micellization for all systems. Foam stability studies were performed as a function of time and concentration by the Bartsch method. The surfactant also formed stable emulsions at concentrations near the CMC value. A comprehensive assessment of the thermal, interfacial, foaming and emulsifying properties of the soap-nut-based surfactant provides grounds for potential application in a wide range of industries. The present study deals with the synthesis, characterization, physical and thermodynamic properties of a novel anionic surfactant derived from Sapindus laurifolius for its potential application against conventional non-biodegradable surfactants.![]()
