Abstract
L-DOPA (levodopa) is a therapeutic agent which is the most effective medication for treating Parkinson's disease, but it needs dose optimization, and therefore its analytical determination is required. Laboratory analytical instruments can be routinely used to measure L-DOPA but are not always available in clinical settings and traditional research laboratories, and they also have slow result delivery times and high costs. The use of electroanalytical sensing overcomes these problems providing a highly sensitivity, low-cost, and readily portable solution. Consequently, we overview the electroanalytical determination of L-DOPA reported throughout the literature summarizing the endeavors toward sensing L-DOPA, and we offer insights into future research opportunities.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Amoxicillin (AMX), which is one of the β-lactam antibiotics used in the treatment of bacterial infections, is known to have a serious mechanism of resistance necessitating continuous monitoring of its level in pharmaceutical and serum samples. RESULTS In this study, we presented selective, accurate, and precise square wave voltammetric method based on poly(4-amino-3-hydroxynaphthalene-1-sulfonic acid) modified glassy carbon electrode (poly(AHNSA/GCE)) for determination of amoxicillin in four selected tablet brands. Appearance of a peak in the oxidative scan direction without a peak in the reductive direction of cyclic voltammograms of both bare GCE and poly(AHNSA/GCE) with four folds current and much reduced potential on the modified electrode showed catalytic property of the modifier towards oxidation of AMX. While cyclic voltammetric studies of effect of scan rate showed predominantly diffusion controlled oxidation of AMX with one electron participation, effect of pH revealed participation of protons and electrons in a 1:1 ratio. The square wave voltammetric peak current response of the modified electrode for AMX showed linear dependence on the concentration of the spiked standard AMX in the range 10-150 µmol L-1 with 9.9 nmol L-1 LOD. The AMX content of the studied tablet brands were found in the range 97.84-100.78% of the labeled value. Spike recovery results of 99.6-100.5%, and interference recovery results of 95.4-100.8% AMX in the presence of 50-200% of ampicillin and cloxicillin validated the applicability of the method for determination of amoxicillin in tablet formulation. CONCLUSION In contrast to the previously reported works on determination of amoxicillin, the present method showed an excellent performance making it a potential method for determination of amoxicillin in real samples including serum samples.

Abstract
A new, highly sensitive Adsorptive Stripping Voltammetric method for levodopa determination was developed. As a working electrode, the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with carbon black (CB), RuO2·xH2O (RuO2) and Nafion was used (CB-RuO2-Nafion GCE). Levodopa signal obtained on the modified electrode was 12 times higher compared to GCE. During research, instrumental parameters were optimized: sampling time ts = 10 ms, waiting time tw = 10 ms, step potential Es = 5 mV and pulse amplitude ΔE = 50 mV. Preconcentration potential Eprec was equal to 0 mV. The best results were obtained in 0.025 M perchloric acid (approx. pH 1.4). Signal repeatability measured on the CB-RuO2-Nafion modified electrode for 0.2 µM of levodopa was equal to 2.1% (levodopa concentration 1 µM, n = 5). Linearity of the method was achieved in the concentration range from 1 to 8 µM. Limit of detection was equal to 17 nM. Recoveries calculated for pharmaceutical products and tap water measurements were in the range 102-105%, which confirms the accuracy of the developed. The applicability of the method was confirmed by analysis of pharmaceutical products and tap water samples. Based on obtained results, it might be concluded that the developed voltammetric method could be a useful tool in routine drug analysis.

Abstract
As a vital therapeutic agent for Parkinson's disease, dosage control of levodopa has always been a major obstacle in ensuring efficacy and curbing side effects. Simple and fast electrochemical detection methods are the main force in this field. Here, we presented a differential dual-strip method based on the coulometry for high accuracy determination of levodopa. The difference between the two strip signals with or without the tyrosinase extracted the levodopa signal from the samples. The Prussian Blue modified carbon screen-printed electrode was used to convert and amplify the electrochemical signal upon the presence of levodopa. The system exhibited a linear behavior in the 0-10 μM concentration range and a detection limit of 0.25 μM. Furthermore, it was proved to be stable in effectively distinguishing levodopa from complex samples through anti-interference experiments and serum tests. We demonstrated the superiority of dual-strip differential coulometry for the determination of levodopa towards Parkinson's disease clinical management.

Abstract
A fast and non-destructive voltammetric method to detect cocaine in confiscated samples based on carbon paste electrode modified with methoxy-substituted N,N'-ethylene-bis(salcylideneiminato)uranyl(VI)complexes, [UO2(X-MeOSalen)(H2O)].H2O, where X corresponds to the positions 3, 4 or 5 of the methoxy group on the aromatic ring, is described. The electrochemical behavior of the modified electrode and the electrochemical detection of cocaine were investigated using cyclic voltammetry. Using 0.1 mol·L−1 KCl as supporting-electrolyte, a concentration-dependent, well-defined peak current for cocaine at 0.62 V, with an amperometric sensitivity of 6.25 × 104 μA·mol·L−1 for cocaine concentrations ranging between 1.0 × 10−7 and 1.3 × 10−6 mol·L−1 was obtained. Chemical interference studies using lidocaine and procaine were performed. The position of the methoxy group affects the results, with the 3-methoxy derivative being the most sensitive.

Abstract
The electrochemical behavior of isothipendyl hydrochloride (IPH) was investigated at bare and multiwalled-carbon-nanotube modified glassy carbon electrode (MWCNT-GCE). IPH (55 μM) showed two oxidation peaks in Britton-Robinson (BR) buffer of pH 7.0. The oxidation process of IPH was observed to be irreversible over the pH range of 2.5–9.0. The influence of pH, scan rate, and concentration of the drug on anodic peak was studied. A differential pulse voltammetric method with good precision and accuracy was developed for the determination of IPH in pure and biological fluids. The peak current was found to be linearly dependent on the concentration of IPH in the range of 1.25–55 μM. The values of limit of detection and limit of quantification were noticed to be 0.284 and 0.949 μM, respectively.

Abstract
A new detection technique called Fast Fourier Transform Square-Wave Voltammetry (FFT SWV) is based on measurements of electrode admittance as a function of potential. The response of the detector (microelectrode), which is generated by a redox processes, is fast, which makes the method suitable for most applications involving flowing electrolytes. The carbon paste electrode was modified by nanostructures to improve sensitivity. Synthesized dysprosium nanowires provide a more effective nanotube-like surface [1-4] so they are good candidates for use as a modifier for electrochemical reactions. The redox properties of diclofenac were used for its determination in human serum and urine samples. The support electrolyte that provided a more defined and intense peak current for diclofenac determination was a 0.05 mol L(-1) acetate buffer pH = 4.0. The drug presented an irreversible oxidation peak at 850 mV vs. Ag/AgCl on a modified nanowire carbon paste electrode which produced high current and reduced the oxidation potential by about 100 mV. Furthermore, the signal-to-noise ratio was significantly increased by application of a discrete Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) method, background subtraction and two-dimensional integration of the electrode response over a selected potential range and time window. To obtain the much sensivity the effective parameters such as frequency, amplitude and pH was optimized. As a result, C(DL) of 2.0 × 10(-9) M and an LOQ of 5.0 × 10(-9) M were found for the determination for diclofenac. A good recovery was obtained for assay spiked urine samples and a good quantification of diclofenac was achieved in a commercial formulation.
