Abstract
Background Tetrazole-based derivatives and their electronic structures have displayed interesting antimicrobial activity. Methods The tetrazole-based hybrids linked with thiazole, thiophene and thiadiazole ring systems have been synthesized through various chemical reactions. The computational method DFT/B3LYP has been utilized to calculate their electronic properties. The antimicrobial effectiveness was investigated against representative bacterial and fungal strains. Additionally, the synthesized derivatives binding interaction was stimulated by docking program against PDB ID: 4URO as a model of the ATP binding domain of S. aureus DNA Gyrase subunit B. Results The structures of the synthesized tetrazole-based derivatives were confirmed by IR, NMR, and Mass spectroscopic data. The DFT/B3LYP method showed that the thiadiazole derivatives 9a-c had lower ΔEH-L than the thiophenes 7a-c and thiazoles 5a-c. The hybrids 5b, 5c, and 7b exhibited proper antibacterial activity against Gram's +ve bacterial strains (S. aureus and S. pneumonia), while 9a displayed potent activity towards Gram's -ve bacterial strains (S. typhimurium and E. coli). Meanwhile, derivatives 5a-b, 7a, 7c, and 9c showed good effectiveness towards fungal strain (C. albicans). Conclusion The study provides valuable tetrazole core-linked heterocyclic rings and opens the door to further research on their electrical characteristics and applications. Tetrazoles and thiazoles have antibacterial properties in pharmacological frameworks, making these hybrids potential lead molecules for drug development. The conclusion summarizes the data and suggests that the synthesized chemicals' interaction with a particular protein domain suggests focused biological activity.

Abstract
Aluminum-silicon alloys have become a preferred option in the automotive and aerospace industries thanks to their fault-tolerant process ability and reasonable static characteristics at relatively affordable costs. This study aimed to investigate the use of favipiravir (FAV) drug as a biocompatible and eco-friendly inhibitor to protect aluminum alloy (AlSi) surface in an aggressive acid environment (1.0 M HCl). The electrochemical measurements declare that FAV is categorized as an inhibitor of mixed type with a cathodic effect. At 100 ppm, FAV had the highest inhibitory efficiency (96.45%). FAV is associated with lower double-layer capacitance values and more excellent charge-transfer resistance. These results show that AlSi corrosion in 1.0 M HCl is reduced in the presence of FAV. The Langmuir model is well-suited to the FAV adsorption behavior (R2 ≈ 1). Chemisorption is the primary adsorption in this environment. The theoretical calculation studies corrosion inhibitors' molecular structure and behavior. Different quantum chemical properties of the FAV have been calculated, including energy difference (ΔE), softness, global hardness, and energy of back-donation depending on the highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals. In addition, Mulliken and Fukui's population analysis and the Molecular Electrostatic Potential map represent the electron distribution and the molecule's active centers. Experimental findings and quantum chemical computations matched, and FAV is recommended as a green corrosion inhibitor.

Abstract
A novel thiourea derivative has been successfully synthesized via green routes and fully characterized by FT-IR, 1H, 13C-NMR, and elemental analysis. The synthetic inhibitor 2-amino-N-(phenylcarbamothioyl) benzamide (APCB) was assessed as a corrosion inhibitor for mild steel (MS) in 0.5 M H2SO4. Various electrochemical techniques, such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization (PDP), have been used to evaluate inhibition efficiency. As a result, EIS and PDP agreed with each other, indicating that APCB exhibits an inhibition performance that exceeds 96% at a concentration of 2 × 10-4 M and increases with an increase in temperature up to 98% at 333 K. However, PDP measurements showed that APCB is a mixed type of inhibitor. In addition, SEM, EDX, AFM, and contact angle measurements were used as a topological surface characterization technique that confirmed the formation of a protective layer over the MS surface. Additionally, the complex formation was thoroughly confirmed by UV-Vis measurements. The adsorption of APCB proved the highest compliance with the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. Furthermore, density functional theory (DFT) calculations were conducted to establish the correlation between the electronic structure and excellent inhibition efficiency. Moreover, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were used to find interaction energy in different media. Finally, the adsorption affinity of the MS surface for different concentrations of APCB was verified via Monte Carlo (MC) simulations. Owing to the outcomes of this study, it is remarkable that APCB, with its low cost and simple synthesis, might be an exceptionally prominent option for mild steel protection.

Abstract
Synthetic strategy for the synthesis of thiophene 2-carboxamide derivatives substituted with hydroxyl, methyl and amino groups at position-3 was proposed. The strategy includes the cyclization of the precursor ethyl 2-arylazo-3-mercapto-3-(phenylamino)acrylate derivatives, 2-acetyl-2-arylazo-thioacetanilide derivatives and N-aryl-2-cyano-3-mercapto-3-(phenylamino)acrylamide derivatives with N-(4-acetylphenyl)-2-chloroacetamide in alcoholic sodium ethoxide. IR, 1H NMR, and mass spectroscopic analyses were used to characterize the synthesized derivatives. In addition, molecular, electronic properties of the synthesized products were studied by the density functional theory (DFT) where they exhibited close HOMO-LUMO energy gap (ΔEH-L) in which the amino derivatives 7a-c have the highest while the methyl derivatives 5a-c were the lowest. Using the ABTS method, the antioxidant properties of the produced compounds were evaluated, where amino thiophene-2-carboxamide 7a exhibit significant inhibition activity 62.0% compared to ascorbic acid The antibacterial activity against two pathogenic Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis) and two of pathogenic Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) revealed that 7b records the highest activity index compared to ampicillin 83.3, 82.6, 64.0, 86.9%, respectively. Furthermore, the thiophene-2-carboxamide derivatives were docked with five different proteins with the use molecular docking tools and the results explained interactions between amino acid residue of enzyme and compounds. Compounds 3b and 3c showed the highest binding score with 2AS1 protein.

Abstract
Molecular modelling of organic compounds using computational software has emerged as a powerful approach for theoretical determination of the corrosion inhibition potential of organic compounds. Some of the common techniques involved in the theoretical studies of corrosion inhibition potential and mechanisms include density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics (MD) and Monte Carlo (MC) simulations, and artificial neural network (ANN) and quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) modeling. Using computational modelling, the chemical reactivity and corrosion inhibition activities of organic compounds can be explained. The modelling can be regarded as a time-saving and eco-friendly approach for screening organic compounds for corrosion inhibition potential before their wet laboratory synthesis would be carried out. Another advantage of computational modelling is that molecular sites responsible for interactions with metallic surfaces (active sites or adsorption sites) and the orientation of organic compounds can be easily predicted. Using different theoretical descriptors/parameters, the inhibition effectiveness and nature of the metal-inhibitor interactions can also be predicted. The present review article is a collection of major advancements in the field of computational modelling for the design and testing of the corrosion inhibition effectiveness of organic corrosion inhibitors.

Abstract
The salt of Aurintricarboxylic acid (ATA) was utilized in this study to synthesize new alkaline earth metal ion complexes. The analytical results proposed the isolation of mononuclear (Sr+2&Ba+2) and binuclear complexes (Mg+2&Ca+2). These complexes were analyzed by available analytical and spectral techniques. The tetrahedral geometry was suggested for all complexes (SP3) through bidentate binding mode of ligand with each central atom. UV-Vis spectra reveal the influence of L → M charge transfer and the estimated optical band gap mostly appeared close to that for known semiconductors. XRD, SEM and TEM studies were executed for new complexes and reflects the nano-crystallinity and homogeneous morphology. The structural forms of ATA and its complexes were optimized by DFT/B3LYP under 6-31G and LANL2DZ basis sets. The output files (log, chk &fchk) were visualized on program screen and according to numbering scheme, many physical features were obtained. It is worthy to note that, a virtual simulation for the inhibition affinity towards COVID-19 proteins as proactive study before the actual application, was done for ATA and its complexes. This was done in addition to drugs currently applied in curing (Hydroxychloroquine & Lopinavir), for comparison and recommendation. Drug-likeness parameters were obtained to evaluate the optimal pharmacokinetics to ensure efficacy. Furthermore, simulated inhibition for COVID-19 cell-growth, was conducted by MOE-docking module. The negative allosteric binding mode represents good inhibitory behavior of ATA, Ba(II)-ATA complex and Lopinavir only. All interaction outcomes of Hydroxychloroquine drug reflect unsuitability of this drug in treating COVID-19. On the other hand, there is optimism for ATA and Lopinvir behaviors in controlling COVID-19 proliferation.

Abstract
In the present study, comparative analyses of corrosion inhibition property of few thiadiazole-derived bis-Schiff bases for mild steel in 1 M HCl were done. Various electrochemical experiments (electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and potentiodynamic polarization), as well as weight loss experiments, were employed to study the anticorrosion activity of bis-Schiff bases as inhibitors. The highest inhibition efficiency was obtained at an optimum concentration of 125 ppm for all inhibitors. Potentiodynamic polarization studies explain the mixed type but predominantly the cathodic nature of all inhibitors. The Langmuir adsorption isotherm was used to describe the mechanism of adsorption. The change in the value of activation energy on the addition of inhibitors reflects the mixed mode of interaction between the inhibitor and metallic surface. Scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses confirmed the adsorption of bis-Schiff bases on the metal surface and thereby shielding from corrosion. Besides, the relevance between inhibition efficiency and the molecular structure of an inhibitor was theoretically examined via quantum chemical calculations and molecular dynamics simulations. All the results show consistent agreement with each other.

Abstract
Corrosion inhibition mechanism of six 2-amino-5-alkyl-1,3,4-thiadiazole compounds, for metal surface corrosion was studied by combining quantum chemistry, molecular mechanics and molecular dynamics simulation methods. Molecular reactivity parameters such as [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], Fukui index were obtained and revealed that the change in alkyl chain length has little influence on the reactivity of thiadiazole inhibitor molecules. Molecular mechanics calculation results show that the molecule with elongated alkyl chain could form self-assembled membrane with higher stability and coverage rate to prevent the diffusion of corrosive substances to metal surface. Molecular dynamics simulation revealed the -equilibrium adsorption behavior of these thiadiazole molecules on metal surface and the calculated results were in agreement with the experimentally determined inhibition efficiencies.

Abstract
Pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine-4-amine was prepared at room temperature in a catalyst-
free medium with moderate yield and characterized by spectroscopic and X-ray diffraction
techniques. Two possible mechanistic routes were suggested for its formation.
Route 1 entails attack by the N of the amine on the imidate carbon followed by Dimroth
rearrangement after cyclization. Route 2 is the nucleophilic attack by the amine on the CN
function followed by cyclization to pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine-4-amine. Density functional
theory (DFT) calculation studies of the two proposed reaction pathways illustrated that the
Route 2 reaction was more likely than that of Route 1.
