Abstract
With the aim of identifying new cation-phenolate complexes, we herein investigated the reactivity of pyrogallol (H3pgal) with vanadium salts. A trimetallic anionic complex was identified, and found to be formed under a broad set of reaction conditions. This complex, with the formula V3O3(pgal)33-, consists of three oxovanadium(IV) units connected together by three pyrogallate ligands to afford a bowl-shaped species presenting a pseudo 3-fold symmetry axis. Its crystal structure is reported, as well as its characterisation by a broad set of techniques, including powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, infrared and Raman spectroscopy, and solid state UV-visible diffuse reflectance. Its redox activity both in solution and in the solid state is described, together with its magnetic behavior. Finally, the relevance of this trimetallic unit in the field of phenolic-based biocoatings and Metal Organic Framework (MOF) synthesis is briefly discussed.

Abstract
Spin triangles, that is, triangular complexes of half-integer spins, are the oldest molecular nanomagnets (MNMs). Their magnetic properties have been studied long before molecular magnetism was delineated as a research field. This Review presents the history of their study, with references to the parallel development of new experimental investigations and new theoretical ideas used for their interpretation. It then presents an indicative list of spin-triangle families to illustrate their chemical diversity. Finally, it makes reference to recent developments in terms of theoretical ideas and new phenomena, as well as to the relevance of spin triangles to spintronic devices and new physics.

Abstract
The unusual temperature behavior of the electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra and magnetic properties are experimentally observed in copper(II) complexes with a dendritic ligand based on the Boltorn H30 polymer (Perstorp Specialty Chemicals AB, Sweden) functionalized with fumaric acid residues in a molar ratio of 1:6. The ESR spectra at low temperatures show signs of transition to higher spin states at temperatures below 8-10 K, and the temperature dependences of the integral ESR signal intensities and magnetic susceptibility show the positive deviation from the Curie-Weiss law, thereby pointing to the presence of ferromagnetic exchange interactions in the system under study. The values of the exchange interaction parameters are calculated by quantum-chemical simulation of the possible structure of the copper(II) complex when assuming the formation of trinuclear coordination sites embedded in the hyperbranched polymer structure. The results of density functional theory calculations indicate the possibility of ferromagnetic exchange through carboxylate bridges in the trinuclear magnetic clusters, and the calculated values of the exchange interaction parameters make it possible to construct theoretical curves of the temperature dependence of the effective magnetic moment, which satisfactorily fit the experimental data, especially considering that polymers are characterized by disperse molecular weights and chemical structures.
