Abstract
AIM This systematic review aimed to identify the needs and preferences for cancer care services among Australian First Nations people. DESIGN Integrative review. DATA SOURCES An integrative review was conducted. A wide range of search terms were used to increase the sensitivity and specificity of the searches in electronic databases. Methodological quality assessment, data extraction, was conducted independently by two reviewers, and a narrative synthesis was conducted. RESULTS Forty-two studies were included. A total of 2965 Australian First Nations adults, both men and women of various ages across the lifespan, were represented; no First Nations children affected by cancer were represented in the studies. Three themes emerged which included: (1) discrimination, racism and trauma, resulting from colonization, directly impacted First National people's cancer care experience; (2) cultural ways of knowing, being and doing are fundamental to how First Nations people engage with cancer care services; and (3) First Nations people need culturally safe person-centred cancer care services that address practical needs. CONCLUSION Most participants represented in this review experienced discrimination, racism and trauma, resulting from colonization, which directly negatively impacted Aboriginal peoples' cancer care experience. While the Optimal Cancer Pathway (OCP) was launched in Australia several years ago, people with cancer may continue to experience distressing unmet care needs. PATIENT OR PUBLIC CONTRIBUTION Our team includes both First Nations people, non-First Nations researchers and healthcare professionals with expertise in cancer care. The researchers employed decolonizing restorative approaches to ensure voice, respect, accountability and reciprocity in this review work. IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING PRACTICE Members of the multidisciplinary team including nurses and policymakers should reflect on these findings, ensure that they have up-to-date cultural safety training and stand together with Indigenous and non-Indigenous cancer leaders to take proactive steps to stamp out and dismantle oppression in health, and safely implement the OCP.

Abstract
PURPOSE We investigated attitudes and practices of healthcare professionals (HCPs) to medicinal cannabis (MC) and complementary and integrative medicine (CIM), including individual therapies, such as acupuncture, massage, herbs, dietary supplements, nutrition and exercise. We explored whether healthcare occupation influenced attitudes to CIM and MC; referral pathways for advice on CIM; and interest in a pharmacy service to evaluate herbs and supplements. METHODS Cross-sectional survey. All clinical staff at a comprehensive cancer hospital were invited to complete an anonymous questionnaire about CIM and MC. We used descriptive analysis to describe the respondent's knowledge and attitudes, and Fisher's exact test to test for differences by occupation, length of time at the hospital and age. RESULTS Most of the 116 HCPs respondents supported integrating CIM into cancer care (94.8%) and wanted to learn more (90%) and to understand benefits and contraindications. Most respondents believed that CIM (87.9%) could benefit patients with cancer, and MC could benefit those with advanced cancer (49-51%). Whilst just over half (52.6%) felt confident discussing CIM with patients, only 10% felt they had sufficient knowledge to discuss MC. Most felt they did not have sufficient knowledge to specifically discuss mind and body practices (63.8%) or herbs and supplements (79%). HCPs (63%) would be more inclined to allow use of herbs and supplements with cancer treatment if a pharmacy service was available to evaluate interactions. Occupation, length of time at hospital and age influenced confidence and knowledge about CIM. CONCLUSIONS The integration of evidence-based CIM and MC into cancer care is hampered by a lack of knowledge of benefits and contraindications, and gaps in education. Effective and safe integration may require targeted development of services such as pharmacy to evaluate the safety of herbs and supplements, and inclusion of cancer specialists who have received training in individual CIM therapies and MC.

Abstract
AIMS To conduct an integrative literature review to reveal any evidence supportive of the integration of traditional therapies for First Nations peoples in Australia within a western healthcare model, and to identify which, if any, of these therapies have been linked to better health outcomes and culturally safe and appropriate care for First Nations peoples. If so, are there indications by First Nations peoples in Australia that these have been effective in providing culturally safe care or the decolonisation of western healthcare practices. DESIGN Integrative literature review of peer-reviewed literature. DATA SOURCES Online databases searched included CINAHL, Medline, Scopus, ScienceDirect InformitHealth, and ProQuest. REVIEW METHODS Databases were searched for papers with full text available and published in English with no date parameter set. The PRISMA guidelines were used during the literature review and the literature was critiqued using the Critical Appraisal Skills tool. RESULTS Seven articles met the inclusion criteria and were included in the review. Four articles selected were qualitative, two used a mixed method design, and one used a quantitative method. Six themes arose: (i) bush medicine, (ii) traditional healers, (iii) traditional healing practices, (iv) bush tucker, (v) spiritual healing, and (vi) therapies that connected to cultures such as yarning and storytelling. CONCLUSION There is limited literature discussing the use of traditional therapies in Western healthcare settings. A need exists to include traditional therapies within a Western healthcare system. Creating a culturally safer and appropriate healthcare experience for First Nations people in Australia and will contribute to advancement in the decolonisation of current healthcare models.

Abstract
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE The mushroom Inonotus hispidus is traditional Chinese medicine, which has been used to treat tumor illness for a long history in China. Our previous research found that I. hispidus petroleum ether extract (IPE) has significant anti-tumor activity. However, the potential anti-tumor regulatory pathways and targets of I. hispidus remain unclear. OBJECTIVE The present study was envisaged to explore the key regulators responsible for anti-tumor of IPE using whole transcriptome and proteome analysis in H22 tumor-bearing mice model. MATERIALS AND METHODS The model of H22 tumor-bearing mice was constructed according to the histopathological data and biochemical parameters. The isolated tumor tissues of different treatment groups were subjected to transcriptomic and proteomic analysis. An integrated approach of RNA-Seq, proteomics, and system biology analysis was used to identify key regulators involved in antitumor pathways. The analyzed differential expression patterns were supported by gene and protein expression studies. RESULTS These results indicated that 957 differentially expressed genes and 405 proteins were identified in the tumor tissue of different treatment groups through RNA-Seq and liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry-based proteomic analysis, respectively. The combined omics analysis revealed five critical genes/proteins, including Lilrb4a, Nrp1, Gzma, Gstt1, and Pdk4 that could play a role in antitumor pathways. Furthermore, Lilrb4a, Nrp1, Gzma, Gstt1 and Pdk4 genes/proteins, as key regulators of the anti-tumor effect of IPE, were verified by qRT-PCR and western blotting methods, respectively. CONCLUSION Our study provides new ideas for analyzing the antitumor mechanism of IPE from the point of view of gene and protein expression and will encourage further development of the I. hispidus pharmaceutical industry.

Abstract
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE The mushroom Inonotus hispidus is traditional Chinese medicine, which has been used to treat tumor illness for many years in China. However, the potential anti-tumor mechanisms of I. hispidus remain unclear. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to reveal the anti-tumor mechanism of I. hispidus petroleum ether extract (IPE) on H22 tumor-bearing mice from the point of view of metabonomics. MATERIALS AND METHODS The model of H22 tumor-bearing mice was constructed according to the histopathological data and biochemical parameters, while the serum metabolomics was analyzed by non-targeted ultra-high performance liquid chromatography and high-resolution mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) to study the potential anti-tumor mechanisms of IPE. RESULTS These results indicated that IPE has significant anti-tumor effect on H22 tumor-bearing mice and no obvious adverse reactions were observed. After the intervention of IPE, the biosynthesis of cortisol and corticosterone as the metabolics in the downstream of steroid biosynthesis pathway and the biosynthesis of succinate, fumarate and malate as the metabolics in the downstream of tricarboxylic acid cycle pathway were inhibited; but the metabolic pathways of the amino acids as tryptophan, lysine degradation, alanine, aspartate and glutamate and other amino acid were activated. CONCLUSION IPE has significant anti-tumor effect in H22 tumor-bearing mice, and the anti-tumor activity of IPE is main through the regulation of energy, amino acids, and steroid hormone biosynthesis pathways expression.

Abstract
Background To determine the factors influencing the use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in gynecologic cancer patients and the prevalence and pattern of CAM use. Methods This was a cross-sectional study of 370 gynecologic cancer patients conducted at the outpatient clinic, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. After obtaining informed consent, participants were asked to complete a standardized questionnaire including sociodemographic and clinical characteristics, detail of CAM use, attitude of CAM use, and quality of life using EORTC-QLQ-C30. Results The prevalence of CAM use was 25.13%. The most common type was herbal medicine (55.90%). The participants who resided or had a birthplace in rural areas presented with a higher proportion of CAM use than those in urban areas (P=0.470 and P=0.004, respectively). Participants who received multiple modalities of cancer treatment reported a significantly higher proportion of CAM use (P=0.024). Most CAM users agreed that the CAM could be used in combination with standard treatment, and some rather disagreed that CAM could interrupt the treatment effect of the conventional treatment. CAM users had significantly higher role functioning in quality-of-life scores. Conclusion Factors influencing CAM use in gynecologic cancer patients were rural area birthplace or residency, receiving multiple modalities of cancer treatment, having positive attitude toward CAM use. CAM users had better performance in role functioning in the quality-of-life score. Therefore, gynecologic oncologists should pay attention to these factors in order to communicate with gynecologic cancer patients about CAM use.
