Abstract
A facile electrochemical approach is proposed for the synchronous determination of acetaminophen (ACP), codeine (COD) and caffeine (CAF) utilizing unmodified screen-printed electrodes (SPEs). The determination of ACP, COD and CAF has been explored across different supporting electrolytes including sulfuric acid (H2SO4), hydrochloric acid (HCl), phosphoric acid (H3PO4) and Briton Robinson (B.R) buffer solutions. It was found that a 0.05 mol L-1 sulfuric acid solution is an optimal supporting electrolyte utilized for voltammetric analysis of ACP, COD, and CAF with improved sensitivity, stability, and reproducibility. The electro-analytical sensing of ACP, COD and CAF was investigated using SPEs within linear concentration ranges of 3.0-35.0 μmol L-1, 10-160 μmol L-1 and 10-160 μmol L-1 and revealed competitively low limits of detection (3S/N) of 0.9, 4.8 and 6.3 μmol L-1 for ACP, COD and CAF, respectively. The results indicated the possibility of such a simple and quick electroanalytical protocol for online monitoring of pharmaceutical formulations comprising ACP, COD, and CAF drugs in human fluids with satisfactory recovery.

Abstract
This technique is employed for the simultaneous quantification of aspirin (ASP) and pantoprazole sodium in both pure powder form and formulations. The high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method uses a C-18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm) with a mobile phase consisting of 0.05 M disodium hydrogen phosphate and methanol in a 40:60% v/v ratio. The flow rate is maintained at 1.0 mL/min. On a layer of silica gel 60F254 with an aluminum backing, the high performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) separation was carried out with ethyl acetate and methanol (8: 1.5 v/v) as the mobile phase. With a mean recovery of 100.54% and 99.55% for ASP and PNT, respectively, quantification was accomplished using the HPLC method with UV detection at 286 nm over the concentration range of 0.1-0.6 g/mL for PNT and 0.4-2.4 g/mL for ASP. With a mean recovery of 99.44% and 99.01% for ASP and PNT, respectively, quantification was achieved using the HPTLC method with UV detection at 298 nm over the concentration range of 400-2400 ng/spot for ASP and 100-600 ng/spot for PNT, respectively. The methods can be used for the simultaneous determination of ASP and PNT in pure powder form and formulations as they are simple, accurate and sensitive.

Abstract
Following the recent pandemic and with the emergence of cell-free nucleic acids in liquid biopsies as promising biomarkers for a broad range of pathologies, there is an increasing demand for a new generation of nucleic acid tests, with a particular focus on cost-effective, highly sensitive and specific biosensors. Easily miniaturized electrochemical sensors show the greatest promise and most typically rely on the chemical functionalization of conductive materials or electrodes with sequence-specific hybridization probes made of standard oligonucleotides (DNA or RNA) or synthetic analogues (e.g. Peptide Nucleic Acids or PNAs). The robustness of such sensors is mostly influenced by the ability to control the density and orientation of the probe at the surface of the electrode, making the chemistry used for this immobilization a key parameter. This exhaustive review will cover the various strategies to immobilize nucleic acid probes onto different solid electrode materials. Both physical and chemical immobilization techniques will be presented. Their applicability to specific electrode materials and surfaces will also be discussed as well as strategies for passivation of the electrode surface as a way of preventing electrode fouling and reducing nonspecific binding.

Label-Free Electrogenerated Chemiluminescence Aptasensing Method for Highly Sensitive Determination of Dopamine via Target-Induced DNA Conformational Change. Anal Chem 2023; 95:5500-5506. Abstract
A label-free electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) aptasensing method for highly sensitive determination of dopamine (DA) was developed based on target-induced DNA conformational change. After anti-DA specific aptamer, as molecular recognition element, was hybridized with a capture ss-DNA (complementary with the aptamer), the formed double-strand DNA (ds-DNA) was self-assembled onto the surface of a gold electrode, and then Ru(phen)32+, as ECL reagent, was intercalated into ds-DNA to form an ECL biosensing platform. In the presence of DA, DA bound with its aptamer and target-induced DNA conformational change occurred, resulting in the dissociation of ds-DNA, the release of intercalated Ru(phen)32+ from the electrode surface, and the decrease of ECL intensity. For comparison, an ECL aptamer-based biosensing method using an ECL reagent-labeled aptamer was also developed for DA assay based on target-induced DNA conformational change. Because of the increase in the amount of ECL reagent into ds-DNA over that of the single-site ECL reagent-labeled aptamer, an obvious increase of ECL intensity was found at the ds-DNA modified electrode over the aptamer modified electrode. DA can be sensitively detected with a lower detection limit of 0.05 nM in the range from 0.1 to 100 nM. With the recognition of the aptamer for DA, DA can be selectively and sensitively detected in artificial cerebrospinal fluid and serum samples without interference from common small molecules. This work demonstrates that the combination of the direct transduction of specific recognition of DA and its aptamer into an ECL signal with Ru(phen)32+ intercalated ds-DNA amplification provides a promising strategy for the development of a simple, sensitive, and selective method for DA assay, which is of great importance in neurochemical assays and clinical diagnosis.

Abstract
This study, it was aimed to provide a sensitive, easy and selective method for designing Nano-porous gold film electrode (NPGF) electrode for simultaneous measurement of metronidazole (MT) and acetaminophen (AC). For this purpose, the NPGF electrode surface was modified with chitosan (CS) and poly pyrrole (PPY) by electrochemical method, and then CS and PPY modified NPGF (PPY-CS-NPGF) electrode were used to measure these drugs. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) are employed for the characterization of the attained PPY-CS-NPGF electrode. Using cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and chronoamperometry, the electrochemical behavior of MT was investigated with the modified electrode. By differential pulse voltammetry, linear ranges of concentration 0.005-100 μM with linear coefficients of 0.9898 and a detection limit of 0.0009 μM were obtained for MT. Finally, an electrochemical sensor was used to measure MT in a real sample, which yielded acceptable results. PPY-CS-NPGF electrodes have a wide linear range, high selectivity, sensitivity and stability and can be used successfully to determine these drugs.

Abstract
In the present research, the cation-π interactions in acetaminophen-M complexes (M = Mn+, Fe2+, Co+, Ni2+, and Cu+) are investigated using density functional theory (DFT/ωB97XD) in the gas phase and solution. The results show that the absolute values of energy are reduced in going from the gas phase to the solution. Based on the obtained data, the complexes in water are the most stable. The natural bond orbital (NBO) and the atoms in molecules (AIM) analyses are also applied to achieve more details about the nature of interactions. These results are useful for understanding the role of the drug-receptor interactions in the complexes. According to AIM outcomes, the cation-π interactions are the closed-shell and may indicate the partially covalent nature in the complexes. A comprehensive analysis is also performed on the conceptual DFT parameters of the complexes to evaluate their electronic properties. Our findings show increasing the stability and decreasing the reactivity of the complexes in the solution phase with respect to the gas phase. These interactions are ubiquitous in biological systems, and their importance in theoretical models led us to study such important interactions. The results of this study may be useful for the design and synthesis of a variety of supramolecular complexes with the desired properties.

Abstract
It is well known that, surfactants provide a neutral, positive and/or negative charge on the electrode surface by forming a monolayer, which in turn affects the charge transfer and redox potential during the electroanalysis process. However, the molecular level understanding of these surfactant-modified electrodes is worth investigating because the interaction of the analyte with the electrode surface is still unclear. In this report, we used quantum chemical models based on computational density functional theory (DFT) to investigate the polysorbate 80 structure as well as the locations of energy levels and electron transfer sites. Later, the bare carbon paste electrode (bare/CPE) was modified with polysorbate 80 and used to resolve the overlapped oxidation signals of dihydroxy benzene isomers. The m/n values obtained at polysorbate/CPE was approximately equal to 1, signifying the transfer of same number of protons and electrons. Moreover, the analytical applicability of the modified electrode for the determination of catechol (CC) and hydroquinone (HQ) in tap water samples gave an acceptable recovery result. Overall, the application of DFT to understand the molecular level interaction of modifiers for sensing applications laid a new foundation for fabricating electrochemical sensors.

Abstract
An ultrasensitive electrochemical microelectrode set (μ-ES), where all three electrodes are made of highly densified carbon nanotube fiber (HD-CNTf) cross sections (length ∼40 μm), embedded in an inert polymer matrix, and exposed open-ended CNTs at the interface, is presented here. Bare open ends of HD-CNTf rods were used as the working (∼40 μm diameter) and counter (∼94 μm diameter) electrodes, while the cross section of a ∼94 μm diameter was electroplated with Ag/AgCl and coated with Nafion to employ as a quasi-reference electrode. The Ag/AgCl/Nafion-coated HD-CNTf rod quasi-reference electrode provided a very stable potential comparable to the commercial porous-junction Ag/AgCl reference electrode. The HD-CNTf rod μ-ES has been evaluated by electrochemical determination of biologically important analytes, i.e., dopamine (DA), β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH), a diuretic drug, i.e., furosemide, and a heavy metal, i.e., lead ions (Pb2+). Different voltammetric techniques were employed during the study, i.e., cyclic voltammetry (CV), square wave voltammetry (SWV), amperometry, and square wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV). The direct metallic connection to CNTs gives access to the exceptional properties of highly ordered open-ended CNTs as electrochemical sensors. The distinct structural and electronic properties of aligned HD-CNTf rods in the μ-ES demonstrate fast electron transfer kinetics and offer excellent detection performance during testing for different analytes with wide linear ranges, excellent sensitivity, and very low limits of detection.

Abstract
In this proof-of-concept study, a novel nanocomposite of the thiolated polyaniline (tPANI), multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and gold–platinum core-shell nanoparticles (Au@Pt) (tPANI-Au@Pt-MWCNT) was synthesized and utilized to modify a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for simultaneous voltammetric determination of six over-the-counter (OTC) drug molecules: ascorbic acid (AA), levodopa (LD), acetaminophen (AC), diclofenac (DI), acetylsalicylic acid (AS) and caffeine (CA). The nanocomposite (tPANI-Au@Pt-MWCNT) was characterized with transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Using the sensor (GCE-tPANI-Au@Pt-MWCNT) in connection with differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), the calibration plots were determined to be linear up to 570.0, 60.0, 60.0, 115.0, 375.0 and 520.0 µM with limit of detection (LOD) of 1.5, 0.25, 0.15, 0.2, 2.0, and 5.0 µM for AA, LD, AC, DI, AS and CA, respectively. The nanocomposite-modified sensor was successfully used for the determination of these redox-active compounds in commercially available OTC products such as energy drinks, cream and tablets with good recovery yields ranging from 95.48 ± 0.53 to 104.1 ± 1.63%. We envisage that the electrochemical sensor provides a promising platform for future applications towards the detection of redox-active drug molecules in pharmaceutical quality control studies and forensic investigations.

Abstract
Piperine, as the most abundant alkaloid in pepper, gained a lot of attention for possible antioxidant and therapeutic properties. Electrochemical techniques were applied to widely evaluate the redox behavior of piperine by comparison to that of well-known antioxidants: ascorbic acid, protocatechuic acid, syringic acid, tyrosine and capsaicin used as controls. Also, electrochemistry was involved in an innovative way to investigate the potential antioxidant properties of piperine combined with different in vitro peroxidation and reducing assays: (i) 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl free radical (DPPH) scavenging; (ii) 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidinyl-1-oxy (TEMPO) scavenging; (iii) ferric ions (Fe3+) reducing power; (iv) hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) scavenging. Results show that piperine readily reacts with highly oxidizing radicals and bind redox-active metal ions in a similar manner as antioxidants used as model.

Abstract
Electrochemical sensors have shown great appeal for the simultaneous analysis of pharmaceutical compounds. In this way, the presence study described first electroanalytical sensor for simultaneous determination of adrenalone and folic acid. The two-amplified voltammetric sensor was developed by modifying carbon paste electrode (CPE) with NiO/SWCNTs composite and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium methanesulfonate (1B3MIMS) and used for simultaneous determination of adrenalone and folic acid. The NiO/SWCNTs was synthesised by a fast and low-cost precipitation strategy and then characterised by EDS, FESEM and XRD methods. The results confirmed a particle size range of ⁓ 26.93-33.87 nm for NiO nanoparticle decorated at SWCNTs. The cyclic voltammetric investigation showed that oxidation potentials of adrenalone and folic acid depend on changing the pH value. The maximum oxidation current for the simultaneous analysis of two compounds occurred at pH = 7.0. In this condition, the sensor showed linear dynamic range 0.01-400 μM and 0.3-350 μM for determination of adrenalone and folic acid, respectively. The NiO/SWCNTs/1B3MIMS/CPE was then used as an ultrasensitive electroanalytical sensor for determination of adrenalone and folic acid in injection samples with recovery ratio between 98.2-103.66 %.

Abstract
In this work we report for the first time surface functionalization of 2D MoS2 with X (metals: Al, Cu, Sn, Ti) to develop a low-cost, ultra-selective biosensor array based Electronic Tongue (E-Tongue) for the detection of 4 vital neurological drugs in human saliva. The hydrothermally grown surface functionalized X-MoS2 was integrated onto a single 1 × 1 cm aluminium foil and contacts were defined using Cr electrodes. Detailed characterization revealed the formation of 2-H MoS2 and metal-X (Al, Cu, Sn, Ti)-functionalized MoS2 nanoflower like morphology decorated with nanoflake, nanorod, nanocube and nanostick structures, respectively. The response of the sensor array was recorded for aspirin, nicotine, caffeine and tramadol. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was performed to reduce the dimension of numerous response data sets from all sensors and predict the likely possible response from various neurological drugs towards each sensor. Pattern-recognition analysis confirmed a definite pattern in response to respective functionalization and could efficiently differentiate neurological drugs from one another. Real-time analysis was performed using saliva samples for monitoring the therapeutic neurological drug concentration in the human body. Furthermore, the biosensor array was exposed to respective neurological drugs to study their sensitivity, selectivity, stability, reproducibility and adhesion onto the device. The strategy outlined can be used to develop lab-on-a-chip devices for the real-time detection of numerous bioanalytes in body fluids.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Amikacin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic used for many gram-negative bacterial infections like infections in the urinary tract, infections in brain, lungs and abdomen. Electrochemical determination of amikacin is a challenge in electroanalysis because it shows no voltammetric peak at the surface of bare electrodes. OBJECTIVE In this approach, a very simple and easy method for indirect voltammetric determination of amikacin presented in real samples. Gold nanoparticles were electrodeposited at the surface of glassy carbon electrode in constant potential. METHODS The effect of several parameters such as time and potential of deposition, pH and scan rates on signal were studied. The cathodic peak current of Au3+ decreased with increasing amikacin concentration. Quantitative analysis of amikacin was performed using differential pulse voltammetry by following cathodic peak current of gold ions. RESULTS Two dynamic linear ranges of 1.0 × 10-8-1.0 × 10-7 M and 5.0 × 10-7-1.0 × 10-3 M were obtained and limit of detection was estimated 3.0× 10-9 M. CONCLUSION The method was successfully determined amikacin in pharmaceutical preparation and human serum. The effect of several interference in determination of amikacin was also studied.

Abstract
The detection of chemical messenger molecules, such as neurotransmitters in nervous systems, demands high sensitivity to measure small variations, selectivity to eliminate interferences from analogues, and compliant devices to be minimally invasive to soft tissue. Here, an organic electrochemical transistor (OECT) embedded in a flexible polyimide substrate is utilized as transducer to realize a highly sensitive dopamine aptasensor. A split aptamer is tethered to a gold gate electrode and the analyte binding can be detected optionally either via an amperometric or a potentiometric transducer principle. The amperometric sensor can detect dopamine with a limit of detection of 1 μM, while the novel flexible OECT-based biosensor exhibits an ultralow detection limit down to the concentration of 0.5 fM, which is lower than all previously reported electrochemical sensors for dopamine detection. The low detection limit can be attributed to the intrinsic amplification properties of OECTs. Furthermore, a significant response to dopamine inputs among interfering analogues hallmarks the selective detection capabilities of this sensor. The high sensitivity and selectivity, as well as the flexible properties of the OECT-based aptasensor, are promising features for their integration in neuronal probes for the in vitro or in vivo detection of neurochemical signals.

Abstract
Background:
Cysteamine is used as an orphan drug in the treatment of cystinosis to prevent
long-term cystine accumulation in lysosomes. Dosing in cysteamine treatment is extremely important
and overdose may cause some side effects. Up to now, various analytical methods have been used for
cysteamine determination. Many of these methods require sophisticated instruments, expert operators,
time-consuming measurement procedures and manipulation steps, expensive supplies and long analysis
time.
Aims and Objective:
The present study deals with the development of a potentiometric PVC-membrane
cysteamine-selective electrode based on an ion-pair of cysteamine and its application in a
pharmaceutical formulation.
Methods:
Cysteamine (Cys)-Phosphomolybdate (PM) ion-pair was synthesized by mixing the equal
volumes of 10-2 M Cysteamine HCl and sodium phosphomolybdate aqueous solutions. The obtained
precipitate was used as ionophore in the structure of PVC-membrane.
Results and Discussion:
The electrode exhibited a linear response in the concentration range of 1.0×10-
1-1.0×10-5 M cysteamine with a slope of 51,7 mV per decade and detection limit of 1.0×10-5 M. The
potentiometric response of the electrode was very rapid (5 s), adequately repeatable, stable and selective.
pH working range and life-time of the electrode were also determined as 3.0-7.0 and 25 days, respectively.
Conclusion:
A PVC-membrane cysteamine selective electrode was easily prepared. Cysteamine determination
in a pharmaceutical formulation was performed. Analysis results indicated that it can be successfully
used in drug quality control laboratories for routine analysis of cysteamine in pharmaceutical
preparations alternative to more sophisticated, expensive and time-consuming analytical methods.

Abstract
Inflammatory diseases increase has recently sparked the research interest for drugs diagnostic tools development. At therapeutic doses, acetylsalicylic acid (ASA or aspirin) is widely used for these diseases' treatment. ASA overdoses can however give rise to adverse side effects including ulcers, gastric damage. Hence, development of simple, portable and sensitive methods for ASA detection is desirable. This paper reports aspirin analysis in urine, saliva and pharmaceutical tablet using an electrochemical sensor and a voltammetric electronic tongue (VE-Tongue). The electrochemical sensor was fabricated by self-assembling chitosan capped with gold nanoparticles (Cs + AuNPs) on a screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE). It exhibits a logarithmic-linear relationship between its response and the ASA concentration in the range between 1 pg/mL and 1 μg/mL. A low detection limit (0.03 pg/mL), good selectivity against phenol and benzoic acid interference, and successful practical application were demonstrated. Qualitative analysis was performed using the VE-Tongue based unmodified metal electrodes combined with two chemometric approaches to classify urine samples spiked with different aspirin concentrations. Partial least squares (PLS) method provided prediction models obtained from the data of both devices with a regression correlation coefficient R2 = 0.99. Correspondingly, the SPCE/(Cs + AuNPs) electrochemical sensor and VE-Tongue could be viable tools for biological analysis of drugs.

Abstract
Analysis of food, pharmaceutical, and environmental compounds is an inevitable issue to evaluate quality of the compounds used in human life. Quality of drinking water, food products, and pharmaceutical compounds is directly associated with human health. Presence of forbidden additives in food products, toxic compounds in water samples and drugs with low quality lead to important problems for human health. Therefore, attention to analytical strategy for investigation of quality of food, pharmaceutical, and environmental compounds and monitoring presence of forbidden compounds in materials used by humans has increased in recent years. Analytical methods help to identify and quantify both permissible and unauthorized compounds present in the materials used in human daily life. Among analytical methods, electrochemical methods have been shown to have more advantages compared to other analytical methods due to their portability and low cost. Most of big companies have applied this type of analytical methods because of their fast and selective analysis. Due to simple operation and high diversity of electroanalytical sensors, these types of sensors are expected to be the future generation of analytical systems. Therefore, many scientists and researchers have focused on designing and fabrication of electroanalytical sensors with good selectivity and high sensitivity for different types of compounds such as drugs, food, and environmental pollutants. In this paper, we described the mechanism and different examples of DNA, enzymatic and electro-catalytic methods for electroanalytical determination of drug, food and environmental compounds.

Rapid and Sensitive Determination of Methylxanthines in Commercial Brands of Tea Using Ultra-High-Performance Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. Int J Anal Chem 2019; 2019:2926580. [PMID: 31781222 PMCID: PMC6875304 DOI: 10.1155/2019/2926580] [Citation(s) in RCA: 7] [Impact Index Per Article: 1.4] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Download PDF] [Figures] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 06/27/2019] [Revised: 09/18/2019] [Accepted: 10/05/2019] [Indexed: 11/17/2022] Open
Abstract
Recently, chromatographic techniques have the potential to be greener in order to reduce the environmental impact. In this work, a new simple, sensitive, efficient, and green analytical method based on UHPLC-MS has been developed for a quick determination of methylxanthines including caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline in tea. Under the optimum conditions, a baseline separation has been achieved within 30 seconds, using isocratic elution consisting of 90% water and only 10% acetonitrile at 0.5 mL/min flow rate (3 mL acetonitrile per hour). The mass spectrometer was operated with the SIR mode in ESI+. The developed method was found to be linear in the range of 0.03–5 μg/mL, with correlation coefficients greater than 0.9995 for the three compounds. The respective values of LOD were found to be 0.025, 0.015, and 0.01 μg/mL for caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline, respectively. The proposed assay was applied to 30 commercial tea samples of different brands. Both caffeine and theobromine were found in all tea samples with maximum concentration in sample no. 15, corresponding to 32.6 and 2.72 mg/g of caffeine and theobromine, respectively. On the contrary, theophylline was not detected at all in most samples. When compared with all previous studies that dealt with the same compounds in different matrices, the developed method was found to be the fastest, allowing high-throughput analyses with more than 100 samples/h. The results prove that the method is suitable for routine analysis of methylxanthines and to distinguish the quality of tea samples of various brands.

Abstract
This paper describes the development of a novel, simple, and inexpensive electrochemical device containing an integrated and disposable three-electrode system for detection. The base of this platform consists on a PDMS structure containing microchannels which were prototyped using 3D-printed molds. Pencil graphite leads were inserted into these microchannels and utilized as working, counter and reference electrodes in a novel design. Morphological analysis and electrochemical experiments with benchmark redox probes were carried out in order to evaluate the performance and characterize the miniaturized device proposed. Even using inexpensive materials and a simple fabrication protocol, the electrochemical platform developed provided good repeatability and reproducibility over a low cost (ca. $2 per device), acceptable lifetime (ca. 250 voltammetric runs) and extremely reduced consumption of samples and reagents (order of µL). As proof of concept, the analytical feasibility of the platform was investigated through the simultaneous determination of dopamine (DOPA) and acetaminophen (AC). The two analytes showed linear dependence on the concentration range from 1 to 15 µM and the LODs achieved were 0.21 µM for DOPA and 0.29 µM for AC. Moreover, the platform was successfully applied on the determination of DOPA and AC in spiked blood serum and urine samples. The results obtained with the device described here were better than some reports in literature that use more costly electrodic materials and complex modification steps for the detection of the same analytes.

Abstract
We here present an orthogonal self-assembly strategy to fabricate a series of metallosupramolecular polymers by coupling planar platinum(II) complexes and starlike poly(ε-caprolactone), through Pt···Pt/π-π interactions and host-guest recognition between secondary dialkylammonium salts and crown ether groups. The solid metallosupramolecular polymers exhibit sub-10 nm scale lamellar structures and one of them occupies an extraordinary degree of long-range order. The platinum(II) complexes can be regarded as an individual supramolecular block to microphase segregate the polymeric segment. Moreover, the metallosupramolecular polymers show intense luminescence and appreciable proton conductivity, originating from these two supramolecular connection modes, respectively. This work paves the way for fabricating metallosupramolecular polymers showing both highly ordered nanostructures and multifunctional properties.

Abstract
Because elevated levels of caffeine intake can cause many health complications, it is necessary to develop an accurate, simple, rapid, and cost-effective methodology to quantify caffeine in commonly consumed products. This article discusses electrochemical methods to synthesize platinum-graphene hybrid nanosheets (Pt-GR), and how these methods can be utilized to create a new modified electrode, the platinum-graphene nanohybrid glass carbon electrode (Pt-GR/GCE). The electrochemical behavior of caffeine on Pt-GR/GCE was studied by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The results showed that a sensitive oxidation peak was observed at 1.336 V in 0.01 mol L-1 H2SO4 buffer solution, indicating that the Pt-GR/GCE exhibited a good electrooxidation activity towards caffeine. The detection limit is 1.129 × 10-7 mol L-1. The modified electrode was applied to the determination of caffeine in real samples with satisfactory electrocatalytic results.

Abstract
In the present work, ternary mixtures of Acetaminophen, Ascorbic acid and Uric acid were resolved using the Electronic tongue (ET) principle and Cyclic voltammetry (CV) technique. The screen-printed integrated electrode array having differentiated response for the three oxidizable compounds was formed by Graphite, Prussian blue (PB), Cobalt (II) phthalocyanine (CoPc) and Copper oxide (II) (CuO) ink-modified carbon electrodes. A set of samples, ranging from 0 to 500 µmol·L−1, was prepared, using a tilted (33) factorial design in order to build the quantitative response model. Subsequently, the model performance was evaluated with an external subset of samples defined randomly along the experimental domain. Partial Least Squares Regression (PLS) was employed to construct the quantitative model. Finally, the model successfully predicted the concentration of the three compounds with a normalized root mean square error (NRMSE) of 1.00 and 0.99 for the training and test subsets, respectively, and R2 ≥ 0.762 for the obtained vs. expected comparison graphs. In this way, a screen-printed integrated electrode platform can be successfully used for voltammetric ET applications.

Abstract
Background:
Application of electrochemical sensors for analysis of food, biological and
water polluting compounds helps to speed up their analysis in the real samples. Electrochemical sensors
with low cost, fast response and portable ability are a better choice compared to traditional
methods for analysis of electro-active compounds such as HPLC. Therefore, in recent years, many
analytical scientists have suggested this type of analytical method for analysis of food, biological
compounds and water pollutants.
Objective:
Due to low cost, easy modification and low non-faradic current, the carbon paste electrode
is a suitable choice as a working electrode in the electrochemical and especially voltammetric analysis.
On the other hand, modification of carbon paste electrode can improve the quality of the sensor
for the analysis of electroactive compounds at nanomolar level.
