Abstract
The development of core-shelled heterostructures with the unique morphology can improve the electrochemical properties of hybrid supercapacitors (HSC). Here, CuCo2S4 nanowire arrays (NWAs) are vertically grown on nickel foam (NF) utilizing hydrothermal synthesis. Then, CoMo-LDH nanosheets are uniformly deposited on the CuCo2S4 NWAs by electrodeposition to obtain the CoMo-LDH@CuCo2S4 NWAs/NF electrode. Due to the superior conductivity of CuCo2S4 (core) and good redox activity of CoMo-LDH (shell), the electrode shows excellent electrochemical properties. The electrode's specific capacity is 1271.4 C g-1 at 1 A g-1, and after 10, 000 cycles, its capacity retention ratio is 92.2 % at 10 A g-1. At a power density of 983.9 W kg-1, the CoMo-LDH@CuCo2S4 NWAs/NF//AC/NF device has an energy density of 52.2 Wh kg-1. This indicates that CoMo-LDH@CuCo2S4/NF has a great potential for supercapacitors.

Abstract
The current study demonstrates the synthesis of CuCo2S4 nanoparticles using a novel thermal decomposition approach. The CuCo2S4 nanoparticles were synthesized under various conditions by changing the source of sulfur and the solvent. The CuCo2S4 nanoparticles were characterized using an array of analytical techniques. Powder XRD results indicate the successful formation of CuCo2S4 nanoparticles. TEM results show agglomerated nanoparticles with close to spherical morphology and XPS measurements indicate the presence of Cu2+, Cu+, Co3+, Co2+, and S2- in the samples. The CuCo2S4 nanoparticles exhibit weak ferromagnetic and paramagnetic behaviour at 5 K and 300 K, respectively. The CuCo2S4 nanoparticles were explored for their enzyme mimetic activity using 3,3',5,5' tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) as a substrate. They exhibit better catalytic activity compared to that of a natural enzyme (horseradish peroxidase) and other metal sulfide nanoparticles reported in the literature.

Abstract
As emerging contaminants, microplastics threaten food and environmental safety. Dibutyl phthalate (DBP, released from microplastics) and benzo[a]pyrene (BaP, adsorbed on microplastics) coexisted in food and the environment, harming human health, requesting a sensitive and simultaneous testing method to monitor. To address current sensitivity, simultaneousness, and on-site portability challenges during dual targets in complex matrixes, CuCo2S4/Fe3O4 nanoflower was designed to develop a smartphone-assisted photoelectrochemical point-of-care test (PEC POCT). The carrier transfer mechanism in CuCo2S4/Fe3O4 was proven via density functional theory calculation. Under optimal conditions, the PEC POCT showed low detection limits of 0.126, and 0.132 pg/mL, wide linearity of 0.001-500, and 0.0005-50 ng/mL for DBP and BaP, respectively. The smartphone-assisted PEC POCT demonstrated satisfied recoveries (80.00%-119.63%) in real samples. Coherent results were recorded by comparing the PEC POCT to GC-MS (DBP) and HPLC (BaP). This novel method provides a practical platform for simultaneous POCT for food safety and environment monitoring.

Abstract
The exploitation of high-performance supercapacitors is crucial to promote energy storage technologies. Benefiting from the three-dimensional conductive micronanostructures and high specific capacity of the PPy@CuCo2S4@NF (polypyrrole/copper cobalt sulfide/nickel foam) composite electrode, this electrode exhibits a high specific capacity of 1403.21 C g-1 at 1 A g-1 and a capacitance retention of 85.79% after 10,000 cycles at 10 A g-1. The assembled PPy@CuCo2S4@NF//AC aqueous hybrid supercapacitor (AHSC) reveals a wide operating potential window of 1.5 V and achieves a high specific capacity of 322.52 C g-1 at 1 A g-1 and a capacitance retention of 86.84% after 15,000 cycles at 10 A g-1. The AHSC also exhibits a high power density of 733.69 W kg-1 at an energy density of 67.19 W h kg-1, surpassing those of previously reported spinel-based supercapacitors. Ex situ X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results show that the CuCo2S4 spinel structure changes to CuS2 and CoS2 cube structures, and the oxidation states of Cu and Co increase during charging and discharging processes. Density functional theory calculations suggest a superior conductivity for CuCo2S4 compared to that for CuCo2O4, demonstrating that CuCo2S4 has superior electrochemical performance. These findings attest to the considerable potential of the spinel materials for advanced energy storage applications.

Abstract
Transition bimetallic sulphides have emerged as important electrode materials for supercapacitors owing to their low toxicity, environmental friendliness, cost-effectiveness, multiple oxidation states, high natural abundance, flexible structure, and high theoretical specific capacitance. Herein, a porous nanosheet-nanosphere@nanosheet FeNi2-LDH@FeNi2S4 (FNLDH@FNS) core-shell heterostructure was directly prepared on nickel foam (NF) via a two-step hydrothermal method. The prepared electrode material exhibits an outstanding electrochemical performance. The specific capacity (Cs) values are 806 and 450 C g-1 at current density (Dc) values of 1 and 6 A g-1, respectively, revealing a satisfactory magnification performance. In addition, the FNLDH@FNS electrode exhibits a long cycle life with an supercapacitor (SC) retention rate of 92.3% after 5000 cycles at a Dc of 6 A g-1. The FNLDH@FNS//activated carbon (AC) asymmetric SC assembled with FNLDH@FNS (positive electrode) and activated carbon (AC, negative electrode) displays an energy density (Ed) of 36.67 Wh kg-1 and a power density (Pd) of 775.17 W kg-1.

Abstract
An effective approach to synthesize polycrystalline Ni-Co-Mo sulfide (NiCoMoS) is developed through doping engineering coupled with chemical transformation. The polycrystalline NiCoMoS with enriched active edge sites is designed and fabricated on a Ni foam (NF) via a facile hydrothermal calcination and post-sulfidation approach, where the polycrystalline NiCoMoO4 precursor is elaborately prepared by doping Co ions into the NiMoO4 lattice and subsequently in-situ-converted into NiCoMoS with 3D architectures of ordered nanoneedle arrays. Benefiting from the unique 3D structure and synergistic effects of each component, the optimized needle-like NiCoMoS(2.0) arraying on a NF as a self-standing electrode exhibits superior electrochemical performances with a high specific charge (920.0 C g-1 at 1.0 A g-1), excellent rate capability, and good long-term stability. Furthermore, the assembled NiCoMoS//activated carbon hybrid device presents a satisfactory supercapacitor performance, affording an energy density of 35.2 W h kg-1 at a power density of 800.0 W kg-1 and competitive long-term stability (83.8% retention at 15 A g-1 after 10,000 cycles). Such a novel strategy may pave a new route for exploring other polymetallic sulfides with enriched, exposed active edge sites for energy-related applications.

Abstract
Ternary transition metal sulfides have attracted much attention due to their superior electrochemical properties. Nevertheless, it is difficult to commercialize sulfides due to their intrinsic properties such as dull reaction kinetics and an insufficient number of active sites. Herein, a self-supporting porous NiCoMnS sulfide (NiCoMnS/NF) arrayed on nickel foam (NF) with 3D honeycomb-like structure was designed and prepared via a hydrothermal and post-sulfidation process. It was found that the 3D hierarchically network architecture, constructed by nanosheets with abundant cavities, endowed NiCoMnS/NF with a high specific area and rich ion/electron-transport channels, which facilitated ion/electron transfer and Faradaic reaction kinetic. The optimal NiCoMnS/NF exhibited a markedly improved electrochemical performance due to the merits of complementary multi-composition and unique 3D network structure with multi-level "superhighways". Furthermore, the NiCoMnS//AC device fabricated with NiCoMnS/NF cathode and activated carbon (AC) anode delivered an excellent specific charge and exceptional energy density. This work offers a reference for designing the structure of electrode materials.
