Abstract
Today, the wide utilization of triazole fungicides due to environmental damage and its side effects has raised global concern. Thus, in this investigation, polyacrylonitrile/MnCo-layered double hydroxides nanofiber was synthesized and applied as an effective and novel adsorbent at thin-film solid-phase micro-extraction technique for the quick and concurrent extraction of five triazole fungicides in fruit and vegetable samples before quantitative analysis by high-performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet. The incorporation of MnCo-layered double hydroxides with porous structure and abundant functional groups in a polymer medium improves the extraction efficiency of nanofibers owing to hydrogen bonding and π-π interactions formed between analytes and synthesized nano-adsorbent. Various important elements that affect the extraction efficiency of the intended analytes were optimized using a time-variable approach. Under the optimum conditions, the limit of detection and quantification range from 0.1 to 0.15 and 0.3-0.5 ng mL-1, respectively.

Abstract
In this study, a coating of electrospun polyvinyl alcohol/modified chitosan/hydroxy-containing porous organic framework (PVA/MCS/HC-POF) was fabricated and applied as a novel sorbent for thin-film solid-phase microextraction of pesticides from cereal samples, followed by HPLC-UV. The successful fabrication of PVA/MCS/HC-POF was confirmed through characterization tests. The functional group of MCS and a large number of hydroxyl groups on the HC-POF structure contributed to the co-extraction of pesticides. Under the optimum conditions, the calibration plots were linear within the range of 5.0-800 ng mL-1 (r2 ≥ 0.978), and the limits of detection were obtained below 4.0 ng mL-1. The method's precision was investigated through intra-day, inter-day, and film-to-film RSD (%) measurements, all of which were less than 6.5 %, 8.2 %, and 10.0 %, respectively. Furthermore, satisfactory recoveries ranging from 63.3 % to 79.0 % were obtained. Accordingly, the proposed method can be considered a suitable alternative for measuring trace amounts of pesticides in cereal samples.

Abstract
Solid-phase microextraction (SPME) has been widely proposed for the extraction, clean-up, and preconcentration of analytes of environmental concern. Enrichment capabilities, preconcentration efficiency, sample throughput, and selectivity in extracting target compounds greatly depend on the materials used as SPME coatings. Supramolecular materials have emerged as promising porous coatings to be used for the extraction of target compounds due to their unique selectivity, three-dimensional framework, flexible design, and possibility to promote the interaction between the analytes and the coating by means of multiple oriented functional groups. The present review will cover the state of the art of the last 5 years related to SPME coatings based on metal organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), and supramolecular macrocycles used for environmental applications.

Abstract
This work, reports the successful preparation a thin film by a simple and inexpensive process for quantification of a model analytes in the urine sample using HPLC-UV. To this end, cellulose paper was employed as a substrate for the in-situ synthesis of MOF-5, to increase the resistance of the prepared film. The prepared film can be reused 26 times with no reduction in its performance. The thin film prepared by MOF-5 modified cellulose substrate was utilized in thin film microextraction (TFME) method for the extraction and preconcentration of naproxen, aspirin, tolmetin, and celecoxib. Under optimal conditions, the linear dynamic range of the target analytes was 2-500 µg L-1 with correlation coefficients (R2) ranging from 0.9961 to 0.9990. Also, the limits of detection (LODs), the limits of quantification (LOQs) and relative standard deviation (RSD%) of the proposed method for selected analytes ranged between 0.57 and 0.77 µg L-1, 1.7 to 2.3 and 3.5 % to 6.2 %, respectively. Moreover, relative recoveries varied from of 94 % to 108 %, indicating the absence of matrices effect in the proposed method. Eventually, the TFME was successfully used for the extraction of selected analytes from urine samples.

Abstract
Today, the widespread use of opioid and analgesic drugs (OAs) has caused global concern due to their addictive properties and side effects. Therefore, in this study, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/poly acrylic acid (PAA)/MOF NiCoZn-LDH@graphene oxide (GO) electrospun nanofiber was synthesized and employed as an effective and novel sorbent at thin-film microextraction (TF-μSPE) method for the fast and simultaneous extraction of seven opioid and analgesic drugs in human biological fluids (plasma, urine) before performing quantitative analysis by high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC-UV) device. This new nano-absorbent was characterized by energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDX), X-ray photoelectron spectroscope (XPS), Fourier transforms infrared spectrometer (FT-IR), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), and nitrogen absorption-desorption analysis (BET). The combination of MOF NiCoZn-LDH@GO with a highly porous structure and rich functional groups in the PVA/PAA substrate casing significantly improves the absorption properties of the nanofibers. In other words, the existence, of MOF NiCoZn-LDH@GO composite in the polymer network PVA/PAA causes an increase in the extraction efficiency of the electrospinning adsorbent due to the creation of hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions with the intended analytes. Various effective factors in the extraction efficiency of the desired analytes were optimized using a one-variable-at-a-time method. Under the optimum conditions, the linearity dynamic range was achieved in the range of 0.3-1000.0 for caffeine, naloxone, noscapine, and celecoxib, and 0.5-1000.0 μg L-1 for tramadol, codeine, and hydrocodone with correlation coefficients ≥0.999. The lowest detection limit (LODs) and the lowest quantitative limit (LOQs) of the TF-μSPE method were obtained in the range of (0.1-0.15) and (0.3-0.5), respectively.

Abstract
In this work, a simple sol-gel approach was used for the preparation of cyanopropyl (CNPr) functionalized silica nanoparticles (SiO2-CNPr) that tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and cyanopropyltriethoxysilane (CNPrTEOS) used as precursors. This as-prepared SiO2-CNPr nanoparticle sorbent was first characterized using FESEM, EDX, FTIR, TGA, and BET techniques. Then, the SiO2-CNPr nanoparticle was applied as a new SPE sorbent for determining trace levels of OPPs in environmental water samples. To enhance the simultaneous extraction of non-polar or/and polar OPPs and to obtain the most efficient sorbent, several sol-gel synthesis parameters were studied. In addition, the effect of several effective parameters on SPE performance was investigated toward simultaneous extraction of non-polar or/and polar OPPs. Moreover, the figures of merit such as precision, linearity, LOQ, LOD, and recovery were evaluated for the sorbent. Finally, the designed SiO2-CNPr SPE was used to determine OPPs in real water samples, and its extraction performance was compared to commercial cartridges based on cyanopropyl.

Abstract
Herein, an electrospun composite polyvinyl alcohol/zirconium-based metal-organic frameworks (PVA@UiO-66) nanofiber coating was prepared on the surface of stainless steel mesh (SSM) and then utilized as novel sorbent for the extraction of phthalate esters (PEs) in milk and water samples. Gas chromatography equipped with a flame ionization detector (GC-FID) was used for the quantitative determination of extracted analytes. The SSM coated with PVA@UiO-66 was used in a polypropylene syringe to fabricate the solid-phase extraction (SPE) device. The PVA@UiO-66 nanofiber coating was confirmed using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis (FT-IR), and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The effective parameters of the extraction efficiency including volume and type of desorption solvent, sample volume, ionic strength, pH, extraction flow rate, and desorption flow rate were optimized. At the optimal extraction conditions, the calibration plots for phthalate esters were linear within the range of 0.05-100 ng mL-1 and, low detection limits (0.015-0.06 ng mL-1). Finally, this semi-automated SPE was used for the extraction and detection of phthalate esters (PEs) in milk and various environmental real water samples. The results showed good precision with acceptable and satisfactory extraction recovery values ranging from 89.5 to 99.2% and relative standard deviations (RSDs%) ranging from 4.5 to 6.9%.

Abstract
The use of electrospinning has received much attention in the production of nanofiber webs due to its advantages such as flexibility and simplicity. The direct electrospinning of nanofibers in an aligned or twisted form and the production of nanofiber yarns can turn nanofibers into woven fabrics, which leads to an increase in the diversity of nanofiber applications and improves their end-use possibilities. In this work, a victorious nanofiber yarn spinning system was used with the help of a rotating funnel. Yarn formation was studied using a composited polyacrylonitrile (PAN)/MXene polymer solution ejected from two oppositely charged nozzles. Finaly their application for packed-in-tube solid-phase microextraction of β-blocker drugs from biofluids was demonstrated. The separation and quantification of analytes were performed by HPLC-UV instrument. The 3D-yarn PAN/MXene sorbent exhibited high flexibility, porosity, sorbent loading, mechanical stability, and a long lifetime. The characterization of the final nanofiber was carried out utilizing Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscope, energy-dispersive X-ray mapping, transmission electron microscope and X-ray diffraction analysis. Various parameters that affect the extraction efficiency, such as extraction time, pH, ionic strength and flow rate of sample solution, and type, volume and flow rate of eluent, were investigated and optimized. Under optimized conditions, the limits of detection were obtained in the range of 1.5-3.0 μg L-1. This method demonstrated appropriate linearity for β-blockers in the range of 5.0-1000.0 μg L-1, with coefficients of determination greater than 0.990. The inter- and intra-assay precisions (RSDs, for n = 3) are in the range of 2.5-3.5%, and 4.5-5.2%, respectively. Finally, the validated method was put in an application for the analysis of atenolol, propranolol and betaxolol in human urine and saliva samples at different hours and acceptable relative recoveries were obtained in the range of 89.5% to 110.4%.

Abstract
Composite nanofibers, namely, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), citric acid (CA), β-cyclodextrin (β-CD), and copper oxide nanoparticles (PVA/CA/β-cyclodextrin/CuO NPs), were developed as a novel, green, and efficient adsorbent in the pipette tip-micro-solid-phase extraction method (PT-µSPE), for the simultaneous extraction of three antidepressants drugs namely imipramine (IMP), citalopram (CIT), and clozapine (CLZ) in biological fluids before quantification by gas chromatography (GC-FID). Based on the obtained results from field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and X-ray diffraction (XRD), the successful synthesis of composite nanofibers was approved. Due to the presence of β-cyclodextrins and CuO NPs rich of functional groups on their surface, the nanofibers have high extraction efficiency. Under the optimal conditions, the linear range for imipramine, citalopram, and clozapine was 0.1 to 1000.0 ng mL-1 with a determination coefficient ≥ 0.99. The limits of detection (LODs) were in the range 0.03 to 0.15 ng mL-1. The relative standard deviation was 4.8 to 8.7% (within-day, n = 4) and 5.1 to 9.2% (between-day, n = 3) for 3 consecutive days. In addition, excellent clean-up was achieved which is a great advantage over other sample preparation methods. Finally, the ability of the developed method to extract the target analytes from the biological samples was evaluated.

Abstract
Herein, a composite of polyacrylonitrile (PAN)/agar/silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) electrospun nanofibers was fabricated and applied as an efficient sorbent for thin-film micro-extraction (TFME) of five metal ions followed by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES). Incorporating agar into the nanofibers followed by in situ photo-reductive reaction under UV-lamp resulted in highly uniform dispersion of AgNPs in the nanofibers. Under the optimized conditions, agreeable linearity was acquired in the range of 0.5-250.0 ng mL-1 (R2 ≥ 0.9985). The LODs (based on S/N = 3) were attained in the range of 0.2 to 0.5 ng mL-1. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) were between 4.5% and 5.6% (intra-day, n = 5) and 5.3%-5.9% (inter-day, n = 3) for three sequential days. Abstract
In the present work, an efficient metal organic framework/graphene oxide (MOF-801/GO) sorbent was fabricated and employed for the detection of organosulfur pesticides (OSPs) in real samples using gas chromatography-flame photometric detection (GC-FPD). The optimal extraction parameters for the suggested solid-phase extraction (SPE) include sorbent amount (60 mg), extraction solvent (acetonitrile) and extraction time (5 min). The linear dynamic ranges and detection limits for organosulfur pesticides (OSPs) samples under above extraction conditions were ranged from 0.5 to 300 μg L-1 and 0.1-1.1 μg L-1, respectively. Moreover, the proposed SPE/GC-FDP method was applied for the analysis of pesticides in different real environmental water and soil samples. The obtained recoveries of the analytes in were between 92.0 and 106.8% and relative standard deviation (RSD) values were lower than 9.2%. Abstract
Nanocellulose, as the star nanomaterial in carbohydrate polymers, has excellent mechanical properties, biodegradability, and easy chemical modification. However, further practical applications of nanocellulose are limited by their inadequate functionalization. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), as the star nanomaterial in functional polymers, have a large surface area, high porosity, and adjustable structure. The collaboration of nanocellulose and MOFs is a desirable strategy to make composites especially interesting for multifunctional and multi-field applications. What sparks will be produced by the collaboration of two-star nanomaterials? In this review article, we highlight an up-to-date overview of nanocellulose-based MOFs composites. The sewage treatment, gas separation, energy storage, and biomedical applications are mainly summarized. Finally, the challenges and research trends of nanocellulose-based MOFs composites are prospected. We hope this review may provide a valuable reference for the development and applications of carbohydrate polymer composites soon.

Abstract
Advanced sorbents gradually become a research hotspot on account of the increasing attention paid to environmental problems. Due to the prominent physicochemical features of nanofibers (NFs), such as high porosity, large surface area, favorable interconnectivity, high adsorption capacity, wettability, and the possibility of surface modification using functional groups, these nanostructures are regarded as excellent candidates for extraction applications. Therefore, the research in the field of NFs and their nanocomposites has been increasing in recent years. In the present review, we summarize the most recent studies on NFs-based sorbents focusing on strategies for preparation, characterization, and their unique capabilities as porous sorbents in various sorbent-based extraction methods. Moreover, we further described the performance and selectivity of sorbents to achieve improved extraction efficiency. Finally, some perspectives on the challenges and outlook are provided to aid future investigations related to this topic.

Abstract
Fruits are vital parts of the human diet because they include necessary nutrients that the body needs. Pesticide use has increased dramatically in recent years to combat fruit pests across the world. Pesticide usage during production, on the other hand, frequently results in undesirable residues in fruits after harvest. Consumers are concerned about pesticide residues since most of the fruits are directly consumed and even recommended for the patients as dietary supplements. As a result of this worry, pesticide residues in fruits are being randomly monitored to re-assess the food safety situation and make informed legislative decisions. To assess the degree of pesticide residues in fruits, a simple and quick analytical procedure is usually required. As a result, pesticide residue detection (using various analytical techniques: GC, LC and Biosensors) becomes critical, and regulatory directives are formed to regulate their amounts via the Maximum Residue Limit (MRL). Over the previous two decades, a variety of extraction techniques and analytical methodologies for xenobiotic's efficient extraction, identification, confirmation and quantification have been developed, ranging from traditional to advanced. The goal of this review is to give readers an overview of the evolution of numerous extraction and detection methods for pesticide residue analysis in fruits. The objective is to assist analysts in better understanding how the ever-changing regulatory landscape might drive the need for new analytical methodologies to be developed in order to comply with current standards and safeguard consumers.

Abstract
Herein, the composite of polylactic acid (PLA)/ Iron-based metal-organic framework (r-MIL-88A)/ Cellulose electrospun nanofibers was fabricated; and then, applied as a novel sorbent for thin-film micro-extraction (TFME) of four selected pesticides followed by GC-FID analysis. From the evaluation of scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction, the successful fabrication of composite nanaofibers was approved. The presence of r-MIL-88A/Cellulose with large surface area and plenty of OH-functional groups results in improving PLA extraction efficiency. The effect of various main parameters on extraction efficiency was evaluated. The LODs (based on S/N = 3) were in the range of 1.0 to 1.5 ng mL-1. Intra-day and inter-day relative standard deviations (RSDs) were in the range of 4.8% - 5.6% and 5.2%-6.4%, respectively. In addition, the fiber to fiber relative standard deviations were observed in the range of 5.2%-12.3%. By using the optimized factors, acceptable linearity ranges were obtained in the range of 3.0-1900.0 ng mL-1 for metribuzin and ethofumasate, and 5.0-2000.0 for atrazine and ametryn (R2 = 0.9913-0.9967). The developed method was investigated in fruit juice, vegetables, milk and honey samples, and recoveries (79.3-95.6%) indicate that the PLA/r-MIL-88A/Cellulose can be a prominent composite film for the extraction of the target analytes in various samples.

Abstract
In this paper, modified polyacrylonitrile/silica aerogel fibers were prepared and used as an adsorbent for thin-film microextraction of chlorpyrifos. The extracted analyte was analyzed by corona discharge ion mobility spectrometry. The electrospinning method was applied for the preparation of polyacrylonitrile fibers. The alkaline hydrolyzation technique was used to modify the electrospun film surface. Silica aerogel was synthesized on the surface of modified electrospun polyacrylonitrile fibers by the in situ growth technique. To access a high extraction yield, effective synthesis and extraction parameters such as NaOH concentration, reaction temperature and time, thin-film pretreatment, gelation time, solution pH, ionic strength, and extraction time were studied. The linearity range and the limit of detection of the method were 1-100 μg L-1 and 0.3 μg L-1, respectively. The precision of the method was 4 and 12% for the concentration levels of 5 and 60 μg L-1, respectively. Chlorpyrifos was successfully determined by the method in well water, river water, agricultural wastewater, and tangerine samples.

Abstract
The present research is an attempt to expand the recently reported microextraction on screw method. For this purpose, polyacrylonitrile/calcined ZnMgAl-LDH nanofiber was fabricated by the electrospinning technique on the surface of a screw. It was applied to the extraction of organophosphorus pesticides (OPP) from agricultural samples. The separation and determination of OPPs were carried out by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The characterization of the fabricated nanofiber was performed utilizing Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction instruments. Effective parameters on the extraction efficiency of the analytes including sample pH, ionic strength, sample flow rate and number of cycles, type, volume, and flow rate of desorption solvent were optimized by one-variable-at-a-time method. Under optimized conditions, the limits of detection were 0.03 and 0.07 μg L-1 for diazinon and chlorpyrifos, respectively. This method showed wide linearity in the range 0.10-1000 μg L-1 for diazinon and 0.25-1000 μg L-1 for chlorpyrifos with R2 > 0.996. The intra- and inter-day precisions (RSD%, n = 3) were ≤ 6.4% and ≤ 7.7%, respectively. Also, RSD% values less than 11.1% were obtained for screw-to-screw reproducibility. The applicability of the method for the extraction and determination of the analytes in complex agricultural environments such as cabbage, potato, tomato, cucumber, and beetroot was investigated. The results led to acceptable relative recoveries in the range 81.0-108.2%.

Abstract
A novel silver@silver chloride/carbon nanofiber (Ag@AgCl/CNF) hybrid was synthesized by electrospinning, heat treament, and subsequentin situchemical oxidation strategy. The synthesized materials were characterized using x-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and energy dispersive x-ray. The experimental results reveal that the electrospun AgNO3/PAN was carbonized and reduced to Ag/CNF, the Ag/CNF was then partly oxidized to form Ag@AgCl/CNF in which Ag@AgCl nanoparticles (ca. 10-20 nm in diameter) were uniformly bounded to CNFs (ca. 165 nm in diameter). The obtained Ag@AgCl/CNF was employed for Na2S2O8activation under visible light irradiation to treat Rhodamine B (RhB). A remarkable RhB removal of ca. 94.68% was achieved under optimal conditions, and the influence of various parameters on removal efficiency was studied. Quenching experiments revealed that HO•, SO4•-,1O2, and O2•-were major reactive oxygen species, in which O2•-played a pivotal role in RhB degradation. A possible mechanistic route for RhB degradation was proposed.

Abstract
Polyoxometalates (POMs) as metal-oxide anions have exceptional properties like high negative charges, remarkable redox abilities, unique ligand properties and availability of organic grafting. Moreover, the amenability of POMs to modification with different materials makes them suitable as precursors to further obtain new composites. Due to their unique attributes, POMs and their composites have been utilized as adsorbents, electrodes and catalysts in extraction, and electrochemical and optical detection methods, respectively. A survey of the recent progress and developments of POM-based materials in these methods is therefore desirable, and should be of great interest. In this review article, POM-based materials, their properties as well as their identification methods, and analytical applications as adsorbents, electrodes and catalysts, and corresponding mechanisms of action, where relevant, are reviewed. Some current issues of the utilization of these materials and their future prospects in analytical chemistry are discussed.

Abstract
Sample pretreatment in analytical chemistry is critical, and the selection of materials for sample pretreatment is a key factor for high enrichment ability, good practicality, and satisfactory recoveries. In this review, the recent progress of the sample pretreatment methods based on various nanomaterials (i.e., carbon nanomaterials, porous nanomaterials, and magnetic nanomaterials) with excellent adsorption efficiency, selectivity, and reproducibility, as well as their applications, are presented. Due to the unique nanoscale physical–chemical properties, magnetic nanomaterials have been used for the extraction of target analytes by easy-to-handle magnetic separation under a magnetic field, which can avoid cumbersome centrifugation and filtration steps. This review also highlights the preparation process and reaction mechanism of nanomaterials used in the sample pretreatment methods, which have been applied for the extraction organophosphorus pesticides, fluoroquinolone antibiotics, phenoxy carboxylic acids, tetracycline antibiotics, hazardous metal ions, and rosmarinic acid. In addition, the remaining challenges and future directions for nanomaterials used as sorbents in the sample pretreatment are discussed.

Abstract
In this research, a novel, selective, and efficient porous adsorbent nano-composite comprising a molecularly imprinted polymer and a metal-organic framework (MIP@MOF) was employed for sampling, extraction and analysis of diazinon from the air by a needle trap device (NTD), for the first time. The synthesized MIP@MOF sorbent was characterized by the FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM, TEM, and EDS techniques. Then, the effective parameters of the sampling (temperature and humidity) and desorption (time and temperature) process were optimized by response surface methodology (RSM). The optimum values of temperature and humidity of the sampling chamber were estimated to be 20 °C and 25.0%, respectively. Also, the highest response during the analyte desorption was obtained at 262 °C and 4.5 minutes. For more details, the performance of the MIP@MOF:NTD method was evaluated by determination of important parameters such as repeatability, reproducibility, the limit of detection (LOD), and the limit of quantification (LOQ), and then compared with the NIOSH 5600 standard method. The values of LOD and LOQ for the targeted analyte were determined to be 0.02 and 0.1 μg m-3, respectively. Also, the repeatability and reproducibility of the proposed method were obtained in the range of (3.9-5.1)% and (5.1-6.4)%, respectively, which proved the acceptable precision of the method. Furthermore, the results of this study exhibited a high correlation coefficient (R 2 = 0.9781) between the proposed method and the recommended NIOSH method. Finally, the proposed procedure was utilized for sampling and determination of the airborne diazinon in real conditions. These results indicated that the proposed MIP@MOF:NTD method can be employed as a fast, simple, environmentally friendly, selective, and effective procedure for sampling and determining diazinon in air.

Abstract
Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are a family of emerging contaminants which are widely present in environment. In this work, novel UiO-66-F4/polyacrylonitrile (UiO-66-F4/PAN) hybrid nanofibers were firstly prepared via blend electrospinning or in-situ growth method for the pipette-tip solid phase extraction of PFASs. Characterizations demonstrate the as-synthesized UiO-66-F4/PAN nanofibers have good chemical and thermal stability, possess large surface area (248 m²/g) and mesoporous framework structure. Several extraction factors including the amount of adsorbent, pH and ionic strength of sample solution, extraction time and eluent were investigated and the optimum conditions are 20 mg of the selected sorbent, adjusting to pH 5 and adding 4% w/v NaCl to sample solution, extraction for 12 min (3 min × 4). The good adsorption affinity of UiO-66-F4/PAN for PFASs can be attributed to the extensive adsorption sites and multiple interactions including hydrophobic interaction, hydrogen bonding and F-F interaction. Low limit of detection (0.008-0.076 µg/L), limit of quantification (0.010-0.163 µg/L) and recoveries (70.84-113.57%) for 9 PFASs with relative standard deviations < 15% were achieved. When applied in the analysis of target PFASs in lake water, tap water, beverage, and shrimp muscle samples, this method could achieve robust and accurate results with sufficient sensitivity for nine PFASs.

Abstract
Lotus-like Ni@NiO embedded porous carbons (Ni@NiO/PCs) were fabricated by pyrolysis of MOF-74/cellulose nanocrystal hybrids, and used as a solid phase microextraction (SPME) coating for ultrasensitive determination of chlorobenzenes (CBs) from water combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Owing to its abundant chemical groups, high porosity, and excellent thermal stability, the as-prepared Ni@NiO/PCs presented superior extraction performance compared to commercial SPME coatings. Notably, Ni@NiO/PCs derived from MOF-74/CNC hybrids presented higher extraction efficiencies towards CBs than that derived from pristine CNC and MOF-74 due to the formation of micro/mesopores and more abundant oxygen-containing groups. Under the optimum extraction conditions, the proposed analytical method presented wide linearity range (0.5-1500 ng L-1), ultra-low detection of limit (0.005-0.049 ng L-1), and excellent precision with relative standard deviations of 4.7-9.2% for a single fiber and 8.8-10.9% for 5 fibers, and long lifetime (≥160 times). The proposed analytical method was finally applied for determination of CBs from real water samples, and the recoveries were in the range of 93.2-116.8% towards eight CBs. This study delivered a novel and efficient sorbent as SPME coating to extraction and determination of CBs from water.

Abstract
It is highly desirable to develop a simple, efficient and sensitive strategy for organophosphorus pesticides (OPs) in both environment pollution and human health. Herein, a novel amplified fluorescence polarization (FP) biosensor was established for highly sensitive detection of OPs using MnO2 nanosheets as the signal enhancer. In this system, OPs can suppress the activity of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) efficiently, blocking the hydrolysis reaction of acetylthiocholine (ATCh) to generate thiocholine (TCh) by AChE. TCh can lead the decomposition of MnO2 nanosheets to manganese ions. So, without the influence of TCh, MnO2 nanosheets can maintain its original shape and form a stable complex with FAM-DNA, which greatly enhanced the FP signal. This method can tremendously improve the sensitivity of FP with a detection limit of 0.01 ng/mL for diazinon. In addition, it was also applicable to determine other four OPs and investigate the level of diazinon in real water samples. Consequently, the proposed approach provides a new promising platform for detection of OPs and is expected to be used in application of environmental monitoring.

Abstract
A novel molecularly imprinted polymer based on magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotubes was fabricated and applied for selective dispersive micro-solid phase extraction of fenitrothion prior its determination by ion mobility spectrometry. The composite was synthesized using magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotubes as the support. Methacrylic acid was used as the functional monomer, fenitrothion as the template, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as the cross-linker and 2,2-azoisobutyronitrile as the initiator. The resultant polymer was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, Brunauer-Emmet-Teller analysis, thermogravimetric analysis and vibrating sample magnetometer techniques. Experimental factors affecting the extraction efficiency such as pH and amount of sorbent were evaluated. Under optimum experimental conditions, the developed method displayed the linear range of 5-220 μg L-1 with a detection limit (LOD) of 1.3 μg L-1 . The intra and inter-day relative standard deviations (RSD%) for determination of fenitrothion were 3.6 and 4.7% (n = 6), respectively. Ultimately, the proposed method was used to monitoring of trace amounts of fenitrothion in fruit, vegetable and water samples. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Abstract
Cu-doped boron nitride nanosheets (Cu-BNNS) were first reported as promising adsorbents for the solid-phase extraction and determination of rhodamine B (RhB) dye in a food matrix. Different characterizations, including XRD, FTIR, XPS, SEM, and TEM, were performed to confirm the formation of the adsorbent. Then, the adsorption performance of Cu-BNNS was investigated by adsorption kinetics, isotherms, and thermodynamics. Multiple extraction parameters were optimized by single-factor experiments. Under optimized conditions, the recoveries in the food matrix were in the range of 89.8–95.4%, with the spiked levels of 100 ng/mL and 500 ng/mL, respectively. This novel system was expected to have great potential to detect RhB in a wide variety of real samples.

Abstract
Polyaniline nanofiber films were fabricated on the surface of stainless steel wire via a controllable and simple electrophoretic deposition route from a nonaqueous colloidal suspension consisting of polyaniline nanofibers. The prepared coating material was then characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy dispersive spectroscopy and elemental mapping analysis. The fabricated polyaniline film-coated stainless steel wire was then utilized as an effective and novel sorbent phase for solid-phase microextraction of tamoxifen for subsequent gas chromatography/flame ionization detection of this anticancer drug. Parameters consisting of the temperature, extraction time, salt concentration, agitation speed, pH, temperature and time of desorption were studied and optimized using a one-at-a-time strategy. Under the optimum conditions, detection limit (S/N = 3), the limit of quantification (10/3 limit of detection), linear dynamic range, repeatability and reproducibility values of 0.51 μg L-1 , 1.7 μg L-1 , 2-1,130 μg L-1 , 5.7% and 8.6% were attained, respectively. The prepared fiber can preserve 90% of its efficacy after 20 consecutive cycles, demonstrating the suitable thermal stability and cyclability of the proposed solid-phase microextraction coating material for the determination of tamoxifen by gas chromatography/flame ionization detection. The route was effectively utilized to determine tamoxifen in urine samples, with relative recoveries ranging from 89 to 106%.

Abstract
MOF-derived zink and nitrogen co-doped porous carbon (ZNPC) was synthesized through the pyrolysis of MOF-5-NH2 and used as a solid-phase microextraction (SPME) coating material. Coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), headspace SPME (HS-SPME) based on ZNPC was adopted for the determination of phenols in food samples. The co-existence of N and Zn in ZNPC endows the derived carbon superior hydrophilicity, which is highly beneficial for phenols capture. After optimizing the conditions of extraction and desorption, a sensitive analytical method was established with low limits of detections (LODs, 0.73-2.3 ng g-1) and wide linear ranges (5-5000 ng g-1). Both the intra-fiber repeatability (RSDs from 2.8-7.3%) and inter-fiber reproducibility (RSDs from 9.7-11.7%) were satisfactory. The established method was applied to phenol determination in beef jerky and duck neck with satisfactory recoveries of 81.2-120.4% and RSDs of 2.8-9.9%, which met well with the requirement of practical application.

Abstract
Electrospun poly(vinyl alcohol)-(PVA)-poly(acrylic acid) (PAA)/carbon nanotubes(CNTs)-cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) (PVA-PAA/CNT-CNC) composite nanofibers were prepared and characterized using Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy. The resultant composite was used as an effective and novel sorbent for pipette-tip micro-solid phase extraction (PT-μSPE) of seven opioid analgesics (OAs) in biological samples followed by HPLC-UV analysis. Addition of CNT-CNC with the high specific surface area and plenty of OH-functional groups endows the nanofibers with considerable extraction efficiency. Under the optimum conditions, the linearity was obtained in the range 1.5 to 700.0 ng mL-1 for morphine, codeine, oxycodone, and tramadol, and 0.5 to 1000.0 ng mL-1 for nalbuphine, thebaine, and noscapine with coefficient of determination (r2) ≥ 0.9990. Detection limits (LODs) based on S/N = 3 were in the range of 0.15-0.50 ng mL-1. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) of 4.1-5.4% (intra-day, n = 5) and 5.2-6.4% (inter-day, n = 3) for three consecutive days were achieved. Finally, the efficiency of the PT-μSPE-HPLC-UV method was evaluated for the determination of OAs in human plasma and urine samples with good recoveries (87.3 to 97.8%). A: Schematic illustration for the preparation of PVA-PAA/CNT-CNC composite nanofibers. B: Schematic presentation of applying PVA-PAA/CNT-CNC composite nanofibers as the sorbent in pipette-tip micro solid-phase extraction (PT-μSPE) for the preconcentration of seven opioid analgesic drugs in biological samples before HPLC-UV analysis.

Abstract
The integration of large surface area and high catalytic profiles of Cu-MOF and CuO nanoparticles is described toward electrochemical sensing of nitric oxide (NO) in a microfluidic platform. The CuO/Cu-MOF nanocomposite was prepared through hydrothermal method, and its formation was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The CuO/Cu-MOF nanostructured modified Au electrodes enabled electrocatalytic NO oxidation at 0.6 V vs. reference electrode, demonstrating linear response over a broad concentration range of 0.03-1 μM and 1-500 μM with a detection limit of 7.8 nM. The interference effect of organic molecules and common ions was negligible, and the sensing system demonstrated excellent stability. Finally, an electrochemical microfluidic NO sensor was developed to detect of NO released from cancer cells, which were stimulated by L-arginine. Furthermore, in the presence of Fe3+, the stressed cells produced more NO. This work offers considerable potential for its practical applications in clinical diagnostics through determination of chemical symptoms in microliter-volume biological samples. Electrochemical microfluidic NO sensor was developed for detection of NO released from cancer cells. This miniaturized device consumes less materials and provides the basis for greener analytical chemistry.
