Abstract
Malachite green (MG) has been illicitly employed in aquaculture as a parasiticide, however, its teratogenic and carcinogenic effects pose a significant human health threat. Herein, a dual-mode colorimetric and electrochemical aptasensor was fabricated for MG detection, capitalizing on the robust catalytic and peroxidase-like activity of P-CeO2NR@Mxene and good capture efficiency of a tetrahedral DNA nanostructure (TDN) designed with multiple aptamers (m-TDN). P-CeO2NR@Mxene-modified complementary DNA (cDNA) served as both colorimetric and electrochemical probe. m-TDN was attached to AuE to capture MG and P-CeO2NR@Mxene/cDNA. The superior aptamer and MG binding to cDNA regulated signals and enabled precise MG quantification. The further introduced Exo I enabled aptamer hydrolysis, releasing MG for further binding rounds, allowing target recycling amplification. Under the optimal conditions, the aptasensor reached an impressively low detection limit 95.4 pM in colorimetric mode and 83.6 fM in electrochemical mode. We believe this dual-mode approach holds promise for veterinary drug residue detection.

Novel ratiometric electrochemical aptasensor based on broad-spectrum aptamer recognition for simultaneous detection of penicillin antibiotics in milk. Food Chem 2024; 456:139946. Abstract
To effectively monitor multi-residues of penicillin antibiotics (PENs) in milk, we developed a novel ratiometric electrochemical aptasensor enabling simultaneous detection of PENs. The aptasensor employed a broad-spectrum aptamer as a recognition element, niobium carbide functionalized with methylene blue (Nb2C-MB) as a reference signal generator, and a ferrocene-labeled aptamer (Fc-Apt) as an output signal. Electrodes were modified with Fe-N-C doped carbon nanotubes (Fe-N-C-CNTs) to amplify detection signals further. During detection, Fc-Apt binding to PENs decreased Fc current intensity (IFc) and increased MB current intensity (IMB). The simultaneous detection of PENs was achieved using IMB/IFc as a quantitative signal. Under optimal conditions, a good linear relationship between IMB/IFc and antibiotic concentration was observed, indicating the aptasensor had a robustness. The limits of detection of aptasensor for four penicillin antibiotics and their mixed targets were 0.093-0.191 nM. This work provides a new approach to multi-residue detection of the same class of antibiotics.

Abstract
A novel aptamer-based sensor was developed using the signal amplification strategy of ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) and polyethyleneimine modified graphene oxide to achieve trace detection of carbendazim (CBZ). The dual identification of aptamer and antibody was used to avoid false positive results and improve the selectivity. Polyethyleneimine modified graphene oxide (GO-PEI), as a substrate material with excellent conductivity, was modified on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) to increase the grafting amount of aptamer on the electrode surface. Moreover, a large number of cyclopentenyl ferrocene (CFc) was aggregated to form long polymer chains through ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP), so as to significantly improve the detection sensitivity of the biosensor. The linear range of this sensor was 1 pg/mL-100 ng/mL with a detection limit as low as 7.80 fg/mL. The sensor exhibited excellent reproducibility and stability, and also achieved satisfactory results in actual sample detection. The design principle of such a sensor could provide innovative ideas for sensors in the detection of other types of targets.

Abstract
Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is a promising technique for sensitive detection. The design and optimization of plasma-enhanced structures for SERS applications is an interesting challenge. In this study, we found that the SERS activity of MXene (Ti3C2Tx) can be improved by adding Au nanoparticles (NPs) in a simple photoreduction process. Fluoride-salt-etched MXene was deposited by drop-casting on a glass slide, and Au NPs were formed by the photocatalytic growth of gold(III) chloride trihydrate solutions under ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. The Au-MXene substrate formed by Au NPs anchored on the Ti3C2Tx sheet produced significant SERS through the synergistic effect of chemical and electromagnetic mechanisms. The structure and size of the Au-decorated MXene depended on the reaction time. When the MXene films were irradiated with a large number of UV photons, the size of the Au NPs increased. Hot spots were formed in the nanoscale gaps between the Au NPs, and the abundant surface functional groups of the MXene effectively adsorbed and interacted with the probe molecules. Simultaneously, as a SERS substrate, the proposed Au-MXene composite exhibited a wider linear range of 10-4-10-9 mol/L for detecting carbendazim. In addition, the enhancement factor of the optimized SERS substrate Au-MXene was 1.39 × 106, and its relative standard deviation was less than 13%. This study provides a new concept for extending experimental strategies to further improve the performance of SERS.

Abstract
Multi-walled carbon nanotubes, graphene and alizarin polymer composites coated carbon fiber microelectrode array sensor (p-AZ/MWCNT-GR/CFMEA) was constructed and used for the simultaneous detection of norepinephrine (NE) and 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HT). The morphology and structural characteristics of sensor are characterized using scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Its electrochemical behavior has been studied with cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The sensor exhibits excellent electrochemical activity for the oxidation of NE and 5-HT, two well separated oxidation peaks with the peak potential difference of 220 mV are observed on the cyclic voltammogram. NE and 5-HT both show two electrons and two protons electrochemical reaction on the p-AZ/MWCNT-GR/CFMEA. Under the optimized experiment conditions, the linear ranges of the sensor for NE and 5-HT are 0. 08- 8 μM and 0. 1-20 μM with detection limits of 4. 22 nM and 14. 2 nM (S/N = 3), respectively. In addition, the microsensor array show good reproducibility, stability and selectivity for the determination of NE and 5-HT. Finally, the p-AZ/MWCNT-GR/CFMEA is applied to the simultaneous detection of NE and 5-HT in human serum samples and macrophages.

Abstract
Most studies on MXene matrix composites for sensor development have primarily focused on synthesis and application. Nevertheless, there is currently a lack of research on how the introduction of different materials affects the sensing properties of these composites. The rapid development of MXene has raised intriguing questions about improving sensor performance by combining MXene with other materials such as polymers, metals and inorganic non-metals. This review will concentrate on the construction of MXene-based composites and explore ways to enhance their sensor applications. Specifically, this review describes why the introduction of materials to the system brings the advantage of low concentration and high sensitivity assays, as well as the MXene-based frameworks that have been recently investigated. Lastly, in order to capture the current trend of MXene-based composites in sensor applications and identify promising research directions, this review will critically evaluate the potential applications of newly developed MXene systems.

Abstract
It is crucial to achieve accurate and rapid detection of tert-butylhydroquinone (TBHQ) in the field of food safety, for the excessive addition of TBHQ in food is harmful to human health and evil to the environment and aquatic life. Therefore, researchers have done a lot of work on signal amplification through nanomaterials to achieve TBHQ detection, but the conventional single-signal detection strategy results in limited accuracy. In this work, an innovative and facile ratiometric electrochemical sensor for TBHQ detection was built based on advanced nanomaterial complexes carbon nanotube-encapsulated Co/nitrogen-doped carbon (Co NC/CNT) and selected internal reference signal methylene blue (MB) enhancing the accuracy by offering effective self-calibration. A linear relationship between the net peak current ratio between TBHQ and MB (ΔI (TBHQ)/ΔI (MB)) and the TBHQ concentration was obtained under the optimal experimental conditions, with two linear ranges of 0.1-20 μM and 20-100 μM and a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.054 μM (S/N = 3). Benefiting from the synergistic effects between Co NC and CNT and the ratiometric sensing strategy, the as-designed sensor for TBHQ detection showcased excellent selectivity, repeatability, reproducibility, stability, and satisfactory applicability in real edible oil samples.

Abstract
The electrochemical technique has been increasingly used for the detection of heavy metal ions in the water system. However, the process for determining the optimum experimental conditions was cumbersome, time-consuming, and unsynchronized, resulting in unsatisfactory detection efficiency. Herein, a new machine learning (ML) strategy combined with BiFeO3/Ti3C2 MXene (BiFeO3/MXene) was used to fabricate a simple but efficient electrochemical Pb2+ sensor. The interconnected BiFeO3/MXene composites prepared by a hydrothermal method possessed an interconnected conductive framework, abundant active sites, and a large surface area, which gave them excellent electronic conductivity and high accumulation of Pb2+. Meanwhile, ML methods such as back-propagation artificial neural network (BPANN) and genetic algorithm (GA) combined with orthogonal experimental design (OED) were used to optimize sensor parameters such as the pH of the supporting electrolyte, the BiFeO3/MXene content, deposition potential, and deposition time. Compared with OED and the one factor at a time (OFAT) methods, the OED-ML method greatly simplified the experimental procedures and improved the electrochemical detection performance. The developed sensor showed superior detection performance for Pb2+ with a detection limit of 0.0001 μg L-1 using the OED-ML method, which was much lower than that of the OED and OFAT methods (0.0003 μg L-1). In addition, the sensor showed good repeatability, reproducibility, stability, and interference capability. The feasibility of the method was verified by detecting Pb2+ in lake samples with recoveries ranging from 98.79% to 101.3%. To our knowledge, the ML strategy was introduced for the first time in an electrochemical sensor for Pb2+ detection, which proved the feasibility and practicality of ML.

Abstract
Carbendazim is a broad-spectrum systemic fungicide that is used to control various fungal diseases in agriculture, horticulture, and forestry. Carbendazim is also used in post-harvest applications to prevent fungal growth on fruits and vegetables during storage and transportation. Carbendazim is regulated in many countries and banned in others, thus, there is a need for the sensing of carbendazim to ensure that high levels are avoided which can result in potential health risks. One approach is the use of electroanalytical sensors which present a rapid, but highly selective and sensitive output, whilst being economical and providing portable sensing platforms to support on-site analysis. In this minireview, we report on the electroanalytical sensing of carbendazim overviewing recent advances, helping to elucidate the electrochemical mechanism and provide conclusions and future perspectives of this field.

Abstract
A novel molecularly imprinted ratiometric-based sensor was designed for highly selective and ultrasensitive electrochemical detection of glutathione (GSH). The sensor consists of porous carbon co-doped with nitrogen and sulfur formed on the surface of graphite electrode (N, S@PC/GE). Silver nanoparticles (Ag) were grown on the surface of N, S@PC/GE to improve the conductivity/surface area of the sensor and represent an internal reference signal for ratiometric response. The monomer (pyrrole-4-carboxylic acid, Py-COOH) was electro-polymerized on the surface of Ag/N, S@PC/GE in the presence of Cu (II) to form Cu-MIP@Ag/N, S@PC/GE. Addition of GSH decreased the signal of Ag at 0.18 V (oxidation of Ag) due to coordination complexation, while the signal response at 0.83 V (oxidation of Ag-GSH complex) was increased. Under optimum conditions, the ratio response (IGSH/IAg) was increased with increasing the concentration of GSH in the range of 0.01-500 nM with a detection limit (S/N = 3) of 0.003 nM. The electrochemical sensor exhibits many advantages including low LOD, high selectivity, good reproducibility, and satisfactory stability. The sensor was successfully applied to determine GSH in dietary supplements and human serum samples with recoveries % ranged from 97.4 to 101.8% and relative standard deviation % (RSD %) did not exceed 3.8%. This research paper introduces new information for the construction of molecular imprinted ratiometric-based electrochemical sensors for highly selective and sensitive detection of (bio) molecules.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) exhibited huge application potential in electrochemical analysis field, how to facilely and effectively boost the electrochemical sensing activity of MOFs materials still face enormous challenges. In this work, core-shell Co-MOF (Co-TCA@ZIF-67) polyhedrons with hierarchical porosity was easily synthesized via simple chemical etching reaction by selecting thiocyanuric acid as the etching reagent. Benefiting from the introduction of mesopores and thiocyanuric acid/Co2+ complex on the surface of ZIF-67 frameworks, the property and functions of the pristine ZIF-67 was seriously tailored. Compared with the pristine ZIF-67, the as-resulted Co-TCA@ZIF-67 nanoparticles displayed greatly enhanced physical adsorption capacity and electrochemical reduction activity toward the antibiotic drug furaltadone. As a result, a novel furaltadone electrochemical sensor with high sensitivity was fabricated. The linear detection range was from 50 nM to 5 μM with sensitivity of 110.40 μA-1 μM-1 cm-2 and detection limit of 12 nM. This work demonstrated chemical etching strategy is truly a facile and effective way to modify the electrochemical sensing performance of MOFs-based materials, and we believed the chemically etched MOFs materials will play a stronger role in terms of food safety and environmental conservation.

Abstract
Carbendazim (CBZ) abuse can lead to pesticide residues, which may threaten the environment and human health. In this paper, a portable three-electrode sensor based on laser-induced graphene (LIG) was proposed for the electrochemical detection of CBZ. Compared with the traditional preparation method of graphene, LIG is prepared by exposing the polyimide film to a laser, which is easily produced and patterned. To enhance the sensitivity, platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) were electrodeposited on the surface of LIG. Under optimal conditions, our prepared sensor (LIG/Pt) has a good linear relationship with CBZ concentration in the range of 1-40 μM, with a low detection limit of 0.67 μM. Further, the sensor shows good recovery rates for the detection of CBZ in wastewater, which provides a fast and reliable method for real-time analysis of CBZ residues in water samples.

Abstract
Caffeic acid (CA) is widely present in the human daily diet, and a reliable CA detection method is beneficial to food safety. Herein, we constructed a CA electrochemical sensor employing a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) which was modified by the bimetallic Pd-Ru nanoparticles decorated N-doped spongy porous carbon obtained by pyrolysis of the energetic metal-organic framework (MET). The high-energy bond N-NN in MET explodes to form N-doped sponge-like carbon materials (N-SCs) with porous structures, boosting the adsorptive capacity for CA. The addition of Pd-Ru bimetal improves the electrochemical sensitivity. The linear range of the PdRu/N-SCs/GCE sensor is 1 nM-100 nM and 100 nM-15 μM, with a low detection limit (LOD) of 0.19 nM. It has a high sensitivity (55 μA/μM) and repeatability. The PdRu/N-SCs/GCE sensor has been used to detect CA in actual samples of red wine, strawberries, and blueberries, providing a novel approach for CA detection in food analysis.

Abstract
A dual-mode electrochemical sensor was fabricated for carbendazim (CBD) detection. Biomass-derived carbon loaded gold nanoparticles (AuNPs/BC) were firstly coated on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE), and then molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) of o-aminophenol was prepared on the resulting AuNPs/BC/GCE through electrochemical method in the presence of CBD. The AuNPs/BC had excellent conductivity, large surface and good electrocatalysis, while the imprinted film presented good recognition. Thus, the obtained MIP/AuNPs/BC/GCE exhibited sensitive current response to CBD. Furthermore, the sensor displayed good impedance response to CBD. Hence, a dual-mode detection platform for CBD was established. Under optimum conditions, the linear response ranges were as wide as 1.0 nM - 15 μM (by differential pulse voltammetry, DPV) and 1.0 nM - 10 μM (by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, EIS), and the detection limits for these two methods were as low as 0.30 nM (S/N = 3) and 0.24 nM (S/N = 3), respectively. The sensor also had high selectivity, stability and reproducibility. The sensor was applied to detect CBD in spiked real samples, including cabbage, peach, apple and lake water, and the recoveries were 85.8-108% (by DPV) and 91.4-110% (by EIS); the relative standard deviations (RSD) were 3.4-5.3% (by DPV) and 3.7-5.1% (by EIS), respectively. The results were consistent with that obtained by high-performance liquid chromatography. Therefore, this sensor is a simple and effective tool for CBD detection, and it has good application potential.

Abstract
Thiocyanate (SCN) is a hazardous byproduct of the detoxification of cyanide. Even in minute quantity, the SCN has a negative impact on health. Although there are several ways for SCN analysis, an efficient electrochemical procedure has hardly ever been attempted. Here, the author reports the development of a highly selective and sensitive electrochemical sensor for SCN utilizing Poly (3, 4-Ethylenedioxythiophene) incorporated MXene (PEDOT/MXene) modified screen-printed electrode (SPE). The Raman, X-ray photoelectron (XPS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses support the effective integration of PEDOT on the MXene surface. Further, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) is employed to demonstrate the formation of MXene and PEDOT/MXene hybrid film. In order to specifically detect SCN in phosphate buffer media (pH 7.4), the PEDOT/MXene hybrid film is grown on the SPE surface via the electrochemical deposition method. Under the optimized condition, the PEDOT/MXene/SPE-based sensor provides a linear response against SCN from 10 to 100 µM and 0.1 μM to 1000 μM with the lowest limit of detections (LOD) of 1.44 μM and 0.0325 μM by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and amperometry, respectively. For accurate detection of SCN, our newly created PEDOT/MXene hybrid film-coated SPE demonstrates excellent sensitivity, selectivity, and repeatability. Ultimately, this novel sensor can be used to detect SCN precisely in environmental and biological samples.

Abstract
A novel ratiometric sensor using an electrochemically active metal-organic framework of Mo@MOF-808 and NH2-UiO-66 as response signals was developed to detect tetracycline (TET) in ultratrace quantities. To achieve the dual-response strategy, Mo@MOF-808, with a reduction peak at -1.06 V, and NH2-UiO-66, with an oxidation peak at 0.724 V, were used as signal probes directly. Concretely, Mo@MOF-808, single-stranded DNA (ssDNA), and complex system (Apt@NH2-UiO-66) of aptamer (Apt) and NH2-UiO-66 were sequentially immobilized on the electrode. With the addition of TET, Apt was hybridized with TET and Apt@NH2-UiO-66 was detached from the electrode, resulting in an increase in the current at -1.06 V and a decrease in the current at 0.724 V. Through this strategy, the sensor achieved a wide linear range (0.1-10000 nM) and a low limit of detection (0.009792 nM) for TET. Moreover, the ratiometric sensor exhibited better sensitivity, reproducibility, and stability than a single-signal sensor. Furthermore, the constructed sensor was successfully applied to detect TET in milk samples, suggesting excellent application prospects.

Abstract
A hairpin DNA-enabled ratiometric electrochemical aptasensor is reported for sensitive and reliable detection of malathion (MAL). The approach employs hairpin DNA (ferrocene-labeled, Fc-hDNA) as a carrier to hybridize MAL aptamers (methylene blue-labeled, MB-Apt) to form double-stranded DNA structures on an electrode. The presence of MAL induces the removal of aptamers, and hDNA re-forms hairpin structures, causing a decrease in the oxidation current of MB (IMB) and an increase in the oxidation current of Fc (IFc). The ratiometric signal of IFc/IMB responds quantitatively to MAL concentrations. To compare analytical performances, a linear single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) is also used to construct the ssDNA-based aptasensor. We demonstrate that hairpin DNA possessing a rigid two-dimensional structure can improve the assembly efficiency of aptamers and the stability of redox probes. The approach combines the advantages of the ratiometric electrochemical method with hairpin DNA-based conformational switching probes, enabling hDNA-based aptasensor with enhanced sensitivity and reliability, offering a linear range of 0.001 to 1.0 ng mL-1. The platform was applied to detect MAL in lettuce, and the statistical analysis indicated that no significant differences were found between the developed platform and HPLC-MS.

Abstract
Graphdiyne (GDY) has attracted a lot of interest in electrochemical sensing application with the advantages of a large conjugation system, porous structure, and high structure defects. Herein, to further improve the sensing effect of GDY, conductive MWCNTs were chosen as the signal accelerator. To get a stable composite material, polydopamine (PDA) was employed as connecting bridge between GDY and MWCNTs-NH2, where DA was firstly polymerized onto GDY, followed by covalently linking MWCNTs-NH2 with PDA through Michael-type reaction. The formed GDY@PDA/MWCNTs-NH2 composite was then explored as an electrochemical sensor for benomyl (Ben) determination. GDY assists the adsorption and accumulation of Ben molecules to the sensing surface, while MWCNTs-NH2 can enhance the electrical conductivity and electrocatalytic activity, all of which contributing to the significantly improved performance. The proposed sensor displays an obvious oxidation peak at 0.72 V (vs. Hg|Hg2Cl2) and reveals a wide linear range from 0.007 to 10.0 µM and a low limit of detection (LOD) of 1.8 nM (S/N = 3) toward Ben detection. In addition, the sensor shows high stability, repeatability, reproducibility, and selectivity. The feasibility of this sensor was demonstrated by detecting Ben in apple and cucumber samples with a recovery of 94-106% and relative standard deviations (RSDs) less than 2.3% (n = 5). A sensitive electrochemical sensing platform was reported for benomyl (Ben) determination based on a highly stable GDY@PDA/MWCNTs-NH2 composite.

Abstract
Abuse of carbendazim (CBZ) leaves excessive pesticide residues on agricultural products, which endangers human health because of the residues' high concentrations. Hence, a composite consisting of functionalized carbon nanofibers (f-CNF) with neodymium oxide (Nd2O3) was fabricated to monitor CBZ at trace levels. The Nd2O3/f-CNF composite-modified electrode displays higher electro-oxidation ability towards CBZ than Nd2O3 and f-CNF-modified electrodes. The combined unique properties of Nd2O3 and f-CNF result in a substantial specific surface area, superior structural stability, and excellent electrocatalytic activity of the composite yielding enhanced sensitivity to detecting CBZ with a detection limit of 4.3 nM. Also, the fabricated sensor electrode can detect CBZ in the linear concentration range of up to 243.0 μM with high selectivity, appropriate reproducibility, and stability. A demonstration of the sensing capability of CBZ in vegetables, water, and soil samples was reported paving the way for its use in practical applications.

Abstract
Organophosphorus pesticides (OPs) are one of the most frequently used pesticides in agriculture, and their residues in environment have caused serious human health and environmental concerns. In this work, we reported a dual-ratiometric electrochemical aptasensor based on carbon nanohorns/anthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid/Au nanoparticles (CNHs/AQ/AuNPs) for simultaneous detection of malathion (MAL) and omethoate (OMT). Here, CNHs/AQ/AuNPs composites were synthesized by a simple room temperature method, and used as a substrate to generate a reference signal (IAQ) and enlarge response signals. Hairpin DNA was then immobilized, offering independent and specific binding sites to further adsorb MB-labelled MAL aptamer (MB-Apt1) and Fc-labelled OMT aptamer (Fc-Apt2). Upon the addition of MAL or OMT, the formation of aptamer-target complex caused the release of MB-Apt1 or Fc-Apt2 from the electrode, resulting in a decrease in IMB or IFc, while IAQ kept unchanged. Based on this principle, the ratiometric signals of IMB/IAQ and IFc/IAQ were used to simultaneously detect MAL and OMT, offering a linear range of 3 pg mL-1 to 3 ng mL-1 for MAL and 10 pg mL-1 to 10 ng mL-1 for OMT, and no significant cross-reactivity existed. By taking advantage of the excellent conductivity and large specific area of CNHs/AQ/AuNPs and the stable two-dimensional structure of hairpin DNA, the aptasensor exhibited high sensitivity, selectivity and reliability. Our work has offered a novel way for simultaneous detection of multiple OPs.

Abstract
Sensitive and facile detection of analytes is crucial in various fields such as agriculture production, food safety, clinical diagnosis and therapy, and environmental monitoring. However, the synergy of complicated sample pretreatment and detection is an urgent challenge. By integrating the inherent porosity, processability and flexibility of films and the diversified merits of nanomaterials, nanomaterial-based films have evolved as preferred candidates to meet the above challenge. Recent years have witnessed the flourishment of films-based detection technologies due to their unique porous structures and integrated physical/chemical merits, which favors the separation/collection and detection of analytes in a rapid, efficient and facile way. In particular, films based on nanomaterials consisting of 0D metal-organic framework particles, 1D nanofibers and carbon nanotubes, and 2D graphene and analogs have drawn increasing attention due to incorporating new properties from nanomaterials. This paper summarizes the progress of the fabrication of emerging films based on nanomaterials and their detection applications in recent five years, focusing on typical electrochemical and optical methods. Some new interesting applications, such as point-of-care testing, wearable devices and detection chips, are proposed and emphasized. This review will provide insights into the integration and processability of films based on nanomaterials, thus stimulate further contributions towards films based on nanomaterials for high-performance analytical-chemistry-related applications.

Abstract
The Cu/Zn-zeolitic imidazolate framework (Cu/Zn-ZIF) was synthesized using the traditional hydrothermal method, and its surface morphology was controlled by adding polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) during its synthesis. It was then calcined at 800 °C to form the nitrogen-containing carbon material CuZn@NC, which improved the electron transfer rate. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray crystal diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were used to investigate the surface morphology and structure. Finally, the electrochemical sensing platform for luteolin was effectively constructed by changing the metal-ion ratio during synthesis to achieve the most suitable electrode material. The sensor platform detects luteolin well, with an operating curve equation of Ip (A) = 0.0571C (nM) - 1.2913 and a minimum detection limit of 15 nM, and the platform has been successfully employed for luteolin detection in real samples.

Abstract
Rutin, a natural flavonol glycoside, is widely present in plants and foods, such as black tea and wheat tea. The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of flavonoids are well known. In this study, a new electrochemical rutin sensor was developed using multiwalled carbon nanotubes/aluminum-based metal-organic frameworks (MWCNT/CAU-1) (CAU-1, a type of Al-MOF) as the electrode modification material. The suspension of multiwalled carbon tubes was dropped on the surface of the GCE electrode to make MWCNT/GCEs, and CAU-1 was then attached to the electrode surface by electrodeposition. MWCNTs and CAU-1 were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Due to the synergistic effect of CAU-1 and MWCNT-COOH, the prepared sensor showed an ultrasensitive electrochemical response to rutin. Under optimized conditions, the sensor showed a linear relationship between 1.0 × 10-9~3.0 × 10-6 M with a detection limit of 6.7 × 10-10 M (S/N = 3). The sensor also showed satisfactory stability and accuracy in the detection of real samples.

Abstract
Recently, wearable sensors and electronic skin systems have become prevalent, which can be employed to detect the movement status and physiological signals of wearers. Here, a pressure sensor composed of mesh-like micro-convex structure polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), MXene nanosheet/Ag nanoflower (AgNF) films, and flexible interdigital electrodes was designed by layer-by-layer (LBL) assembly. The unique microstructure of PDMS effectively increases the contact area and improves sensitivity. Moreover, AgNFs were introduced into the MXene as a "bridge," and the synergistic effect of the two further enhanced the performance of the sensor. The pressure sensor has high sensitivity (191.3 kPa-1), good stability (18,000 cycles), fast response/recovery time (80 ms/90 ms), and low detection limit (8 Pa), so it can be used for all-round monitoring of the human body. Sensing arrays were integrated with a wireless transmitter as an intelligent artificial electronic skin for spatial pressure mapping and human-computer interaction sensing. Moreover, we develop a smart glove by a simple method, combining it with a 3D model for wireless accurate detection of hand poses. This provides ideas for hand somatosensory detection technology, leading to health monitoring, intelligent rehabilitation training, and personalized medicine.

Abstract
A new MXene supported Pd nanoparticles (Ti3C2@Pd) nanosol with good stability and strong catalysis was prepared by the two-step procedure. Experiment was found that Ti3C2@Pd could strongly catalyze the reduction of HAuCl4 by H2O2 to produce gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), with strong surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), resonance Rayleigh scattering (RRS) and surface plasmon resonance absorption (Abs). Coupled this new SERS/RRS/Abs trimode nanocatalytic indicator reaction with specific TNT polypeptide (PTTNT), a facile and selective trimode polypeptide biosensoring platform was established for the detection of ultratrace TNT, with a linear range of 1.1-66, 1.1-66 and 4.4-66 pmol/L TNT, and detection limit (DL) of 0.69, 0.97 and 3.36 pmol/L by SERS, RRS and Abs assay respectively. It has been used to detect TNT in wastewater and soil samples, with recovery of 98.7-106% and RSD of 6.22-8.77%. In addition, this biosensoring platform can be also used to assay glyphosate and estradiol, respectively.

Abstract
In this work, the magnetic Ti3C2 MXene functionalized with β-cyclodextrin was prepared and characterized using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectra, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, vibrating sample magnetometry, and thermogravimetric analysis. The synthesized nanomaterial was used as an adsorbent to adsorb doxorubicin from aqueous solutions, and the experimental parameters that affected the adsorption efficiency were investigated. In addition, the adsorption characteristics including adsorption kinetics, adsorption isotherm, and thermodynamics were researched comprehensively. The adsorption kinetics of doxorubicin followed a pseudo-second-order kinetic model, which indicated that adsorption was the rate-limiting step, and the maximum adsorption capacity was 7.35 μg mg-1 by shaking for 60 min at pH 7.0. The adsorption isotherm was well described using the Freundlich model, which implied that multilayer adsorption took place over the prepared nanomaterial for doxorubicin adsorption. The negative values of Gibbs free energy change (ΔG 0 < 0) demonstrated that doxorubicin adsorption was a spontaneous process. The positive values of entropy change (ΔS 0 > 0) implied that doxorubicin adsorption was an increasing random process. Enthalpy change values were positive (ΔH 0 > 0) and indicated that the adsorption of doxorubicin was endothermic. The adsorption percentage of doxorubicin remained in the range of 41.05-44.09%, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) based on the adsorption percentage through five replicate adsorption and desorption processes was 2.8%. These results indicated that the magnetic Ti3C2 MXene nanomaterials can be an effective adsorbent to adsorb DOX from aqueous solutions.

Abstract
Herein, a facile ratiometric electrochemical method was developed for sensitive sensing of riboflavin (RF) based on hierarchical porous biochar (HPB) modified electrode. In this sensing system, the reference paracetamol (PA) was directly added into electrolyte solution without the requirement of complex immobilization process. HPB derived from KOH-activated Soulangeana sepals displays hierarchical porous structure, high specific surface area and rich oxygen-containing functional groups, which is favorable for RF adsorption and enrichment. Besides, the excellent electronic conductivity and superior electrocatalytic activity of HPB can effectively promote the electrooxidation of RF. Moreover, the dual-signal strategy greatly improves the reproducibility and reliability of electrochemical detection. Based on the proposed ratiometric sensing platform, the sensor exhibits a wider linear range of 0.0007-10μM and a lower limit of detection of 0.2 nM. The method also presents good selectivity and has been applied to the determination of RF in milk samples with satisfactory results.

Abstract
A ratiometric electrochemical biosensor based on a covalent organic framework (COFThi-TFPB) loaded with acetylcholinesterase (AChE) was developed. First, an electroactive COFThi-TFPB with a two-dimensional sheet structure, positive charge and a pair of inert redox peaks was synthesized via a dehydration condensation reaction between positively charged thionine (Thi) and 1,3,5-triformylphenylbenzene (TFPB). The immobilization of AChE on the positively charged electrode surface was beneficial for maintaining its bioactivity and achieving the best catalytic effect; therefore, the positively charged COFThi-TFPB was an appropriate support material for AChE. Furthermore, the COFThi-TFPB provided a stable internal reference signal for the constructed AChE inhibition-based electrochemical biosensor to eliminate various effects which were unrelated to the detection of carbaryl. The sensor had a linear range of 2.2–60 μM with a detection limit of 0.22 μM, and exhibited satisfactory reproducibility, stability and anti-interference ability for the detection of carbaryl. This work offers a possibility for the application of COF-based materials in the detection of low-level pesticide residues.

Abstract
A stable ratiometric electrochemical sensor is introduced for the selective detection of carbendazim (CBD). Specifically, the proposed sensor employs a Co@Mo2C bimetallic nanomaterial as the glassy carbon electrode substrate and a layer of molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was in situ fabricated on glassy carbon electrode by electropolymerization, with o-aminophenol as the functional monomer and CBD acting as template. A ratiometric MIP sensor was constructed by adding ferrocene (Fc) internal reference directly to the sample solution. The bimetallic nanomaterials provide a large loading platform for the MIP layer through synergistic effects, amplifying the signal. Excellent CBD binding selectivity is achieved by the templating effect of the three-dimensional (3D) MIP layer. The internal standard is added directly to the electrolyte solution to be tested, allowing the new type of ratiometric electrochemical sensor to avoid the cumbersome steps of other methods and reducing the difficulty and human error of the experimental procedure. Combining a ratiometric strategy with a 3D MIP structure realises the dual-signal detection of CBD. The optimised sensor showed an excellent linear relationship between 0.01 and 1 000 μM, with a correlation coefficient of 0.997 and a detection limit of 3.4 nM (S/N = 3).

Abstract
Quantum flatland i.e., the family of two dimensional (2D) quantum materials has become increscent and has already encompassed elemental atomic sheets (Xenes), 2D transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), 2D metal nitrides/carbides/carbonitrides (MXenes), 2D metal oxides, 2D metal phosphides, 2D metal halides, 2D mixed oxides, etc. and still new members are being explored. Owing to the occurrence of various structural phases of each 2D material and each exhibiting a unique electronic structure; bestows distinct physical and chemical properties. In the early years, world record electronic mobility and fractional quantum Hall effect of graphene attracted attention. Thanks to excellent electronic mobility, and extreme sensitivity of their electronic structures towards the adjacent environment, 2D materials have been employed as various ultrafast precision sensors such as gas/fire/light/strain sensors and in trace-level molecular detectors and disease diagnosis. 2D materials, their doped versions, and their hetero layers and hybrids have been successfully employed in electronic/photonic/optoelectronic/spintronic and straintronic chips. In recent times, quantum behavior such as the existence of a superconducting phase in moiré hetero layers, the feasibility of hyperbolic photonic metamaterials, mechanical metamaterials with negative Poisson ratio, and potential usage in second/third harmonic generation and electromagnetic shields, etc. have raised the expectations further. High surface area, excellent young's moduli, and anchoring/coupling capability bolster hopes for their usage as nanofillers in polymers, glass, and soft metals. Even though lab-scale demonstrations have been showcased, large-scale applications such as solar cells, LEDs, flat panel displays, hybrid energy storage, catalysis (including water splitting and CO2 reduction), etc. will catch up. While new members of the flatland family will be invented, new methods of large-scale synthesis of defect-free crystals will be explored and novel applications will emerge, it is expected. Achieving a high level of in-plane doping in 2D materials without adding defects is a challenge to work on. Development of understanding of inter-layer coupling and its effects on electron injection/excited state electron transfer at the 2D-2D interfaces will lead to future generation heterolayer devices and sensors.

Abstract
In this paper, a MOF derivative Cu-PF6-MOF composed of transition metal copper and ionic liquid [BMIM] PF6 was used to construct a ratiometric electrochemical sensor for paracetamol detection. Cu-PF6-MOF was synthesized by chemical bath method and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). Owing to the introduction of ionic liquid [BMIM] PF6 and the synthetic effect on transition metal copper and ionic liquid [BMIM] PF6, Cu-PF6-MOF has the higher conductivity, larger electroactive surface area and better intrinsic catalytic properties of the skeletal transition metal, exhibiting enhanced electrocatalytic response to the reduction of paracetamol. The stable reduction peak at -104 mV was used as the ratiometric signal for analytical paracetamol detection using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), with a linear range of 0.1-100 μM and a detection limit of 0.03 μM (S/N = 3). In addition, the constructed sensor showed good reproducibility, stability and interference resistance, as well as ideal recoveries (98.20%-104.40%) for the analysis of paracetamol in water samples.

Rapid Trace Detection of Pesticide Residues on Tomato by Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy and Flexible Tapes. J FOOD QUALITY 2022. Abstract
The non-judicious use of pesticides in agro-food poses a severe threat to food safety and human health. As an emerging chromatographic fingerprint provider, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy analysis (SERS) sheds bright light on sensitive and nondestructive detection of pesticide residues. This research proposed a novel strategy to detect three-pesticide residues (thiabendazole, carbendazim, and chlorpyrifos) on tomato peel based on the flexible and sticky SERS substrate. After selecting the best commercial adhesive tape (3M9080), the SERS substrate was constructed by optimizing the parameters in the preparation process of AuNPs. Therefore, a new simple “tape-wrapped SERS” way for pesticide residue analysis was established with a simple procedure of “absorption, separation, and drop addition.” Based on chemometrics method, the limit of semiquantitative detection was 20, 36, and 80 ng/cm2 for thiabendazole, carbendazim, and chlorpyrifos, respectively, on tomato surface, which indicated that the proposed method could meet the requirement of actual application with a large prospect in agro-food safety detection.

Abstract
In this work, carbon nanohorn (CNH)-decorated multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) (CNH@MWCNT) composite was prepared and used to modify glass carbon electrode (GCE) as sensitive electrochemical sensor for niclosamide (NA) determination. Herein, the decoration of CNHs induces higher dispersibility for MWCNTs, and endows the composite with better conductivity, larger surface area, and higher catalytic activity, which leads to significantly enhanced electrochemical behavior toward NA oxidation. The parameters such as mass ratios of CNHs and MWCHTs, the amount of composite materials, the accumulation time, and the solution pH are systematically optimized. Under optimized conditions, the developed electrochemical sensor exhibits a low detection limit of 2.0 nM with a wide linear range of 7.0 nM-10.0 µM and high anti-interference ability. In addition, the sensor displays good stability, repeatability, and reproducibility. The feasibility of the assay was verified by testing NA in brown rice and rice field water samples.

Abstract
A novel ratiometric electrochemical sensor was developed based on a carbon cloth electrodeposited with silver nanoparticles and drop-coated by covalent organic framework (COF-LZU1) for simultaneous determination of bisphenol A (BPA) and bisphenol S (BPS). Carbon cloth exhibited a significantly larger electrochemical active area than common glassy carbon electrodes (27.5 times). Silver nanoparticles not only provided a stable reference signal but also enhanced electroactivity for the oxidation of BPA and BPS. COF-LZU1 with good adsorption performance and large periodic π-arrays promoted the enrichment of BPA and BPS to further increase the current response. Compared with the traditional single-signal electrochemical sensor, the developed ratiometric sensor exhibited better reproducibility and a wider linear range for BPA and BPS from 0.5 to 100 μM with a limit of detection of 0.15 μM. Furthermore, the developed sensor showed excellent stability and superior anti-interference ability. The real sample analysis for BPA and BPS has been successfully carried out in mineral water, electrolyte drink, tea, juice, and beer with recoveries of 88.3-111.7%. The developed ratiometric sensor is expected to be a candidate for the preparation of other electrochemical sensors and the analysis of additional practical samples.
