Abstract
The novel mixed-ligand complexes derived from the parent antidepressant phenothiazine drug triflupromazine (TFP) were synthesized along with the secondary ligands glycine and histidine. [Cu(TFP)(Gly)Cl]·2H2O (1) and [Cu(TFP)(His)Cl]·2H2O (2) were examined for their in vitro biological properties. Cyclic voltammetry was used to study the binding of both complexes to CT-DNA. The two complexes were examined for antiviral, antiparasite, and anti-inflammatory applications. An in vitro cytotoxicity study on two different cancer cell lines, MCF-7, HepG2, and a normal cell line, HSF, shows promising selective cytotoxicity for cancer cells. An investigation of the cell cycle and apoptosis rates was evaluated by flow cytometry with Annexin V-FITC/Propidium Iodide (PI) staining of the treated cells. Gene expression and western blotting were carried out to determine the expression levels of the pro-apoptotic markers and the anti-apoptotic marker Bcl2. The tested complexes decreased cell viability and triggered apoptosis in human tumor cell lines. Molecular docking was also used to simulate Bcl2 inhibition. Finally, complex (2) has potent antitumor effects on human tumor cells, especially against HepG2 cells, as seen in the cellular drug uptake assay. Consequently, complex (2) may prove useful against cancer, especially liver cancer. For further understanding, it needs to be explored in vivo.

Abstract
As an important member of reactive oxygen species, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) plays a key role in oxidative stress and cell signaling. Abnormal levels of H2O2 in lysosomes can induce damage or even loss of lysosomal function, leading to certain diseases. Therefore, real-time monitoring of H2O2 in lysosomes is very important. In this work, we designed and synthesized a novel lysosome-targeted fluorescent probe for H2O2-specific detection based on a benzothiazole derivative. A morpholine group was used as a lysosome-targeted unit and a boric acid ester was chosen as the reaction site. In the absence of H2O2, the probe exhibited very weak fluorescence. In the presence of H2O2, the probe showed an increased fluorescence emission. The fluorescence intensity of the probe for H2O2 displayed a good linear relationship in the concentration range of H2O2 from 8.0 × 10-7 to 2.0 × 10-4 mol·L-1. The detection limit was estimated to be 4.6 × 10-7 mol·L-1 for H2O2. The probe possessed high selectivity, good sensitivity and short response time for the detection of H2O2. Moreover, the probe had almost no cytotoxicity and had been successfully applied to confocal imaging of H2O2 in lysosomes of A549 cells. These results illustrated that the developed fluorescent probe in this study could provide a good tool for the determination of H2O2 in lysosomes.

Abstract
Herein, we have developed a novel synthetic route for the synthesis of chromeno[4,3-d]pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-6-one derivatives 8a-q using an acid ionic liquid [CMMIM][BF4 -] 4 via one-pot, three-component synthesis in aqueous ethanol at room temperature. A series of 17 derivatives have been successfully prepared with up to 93% yield. All the synthesized derivatives were well characterized using 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and FT-IR spectral techniques. Additionally, the photophysical properties of 12 selected derivatives including molar extinction coefficient (ε), Stokes shift (Δυ̅), and quantum yield (Φ) varying from 0.52095 × 104 to 0.93248 × 104, 4216 to 4668 cm-1, and 0.0088 to 0.0459, respectively, have been determined. Furthermore, the experimental data are supported by density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT calculations. Theoretical investigations showed a trend similar to experimental results.
