Abstract
AIM This study aims to determine the effects of nurses' perceived workplace incivility on nurses' presenteeism and turnover intention and to reveal the mediating role of work stress and psychological resilience in the possible impact. BACKGROUND Nurses directly contribute to the treatment of patients. The problems nurses encounter in the workplace can negatively affect nurses' attitudes towards work. Therefore, the problems faced by nurses should be determined. METHODS This study complies with the STROBE checklist. This cross-sectional survey was conducted with 302 nurses working in a university hospital in the Konya province of Turkey. Data were collected in May-July 2021. The questionnaire consisted of six parts: sociodemographic characteristics form, workplace incivility scale, psychological resilience scale, work stress scale, turnover intention scale and presenteeism scale. The data were analysed using descriptive statistical methods and partial least-squares path analysis. RESULTS It was determined that workplace incivility positively and significantly affected turnover intention, presenteeism and work stress. In contrast, it negatively and significantly affected psychological resilience. In addition, psychological resilience played a mediating role in the effect of workplace incivility on presenteeism. CONCLUSION The results reveal that the behaviours of incivility encountered by nurses in the workplace increase their presenteeism and turnover intention, and work stress further strengthens these effects. The psychological resilience of nurses is a factor that can help them eliminate their negative emotions and attitudes. Therefore, it is recommended that nursing and health managers first identify the stress factors in the workplace and be determined to fight them. In addition, organizing training and providing psychological support to increase nurses' psychological resilience may enable nurses to develop more positive feelings about their jobs and workplaces. IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING AND HEALTH POLICY Nursing and health managers must determine workplace incivility behaviours and inform all employees about these behaviours, their consequences and how to deal with such incivility. In addition, nursing and health managers must determine the stress factors in the workplace and be adamant about combating these factors. In addition, nursing and health managers must give importance to training that will increase the psychological resilience of nurses.

Abstract
BACKGROUND One of the global issues facing the nursing profession is work-related stress because it interferes with care quality and organisational competency. These kinds of stressful situations can cause damage to the mental ability of the affected individual resulting in low job productivity. In a Nigerian healthcare setting, patient safety is under-researched. AIM This study aimed to assess the influence of work-related stress on patient safety culture among nurses in a tertiary hospital. MATERIALS AND METHODS The study adopted a descriptive cross-sectional survey. The Population of the study was nurses who are currently serving as employees at Federal Medical Center Birnin-Kebbi. Proportional and systematic sampling methods were used in the selection of the sample of the study. The tools used for this study were adapted Hospital Survey on Patient Safety (HSOPS) and Nurses' Occupational Stressor Scale. Ethical approval was obtained from the research ethical committee of the hospital. RESULTS The moderate stress experience was having the highest percentage (45.0%). The highest percentage of the nurses (69.9%) practised a moderate safety culture. There were weak or very weak significant negative correlations (P < 0.01) between patient safety culture practices and occupational stress across all the subscales of the nurses' occupational stressors scale except in the occupational hazards subscale in which there was extremely weak and non-significant negative correlation. Work-family conflict was a significant predictor of patient safety culture, t (208) = -2.341, P < 0.05. Difficulty in taking leave was a significant predictor of patient safety culture, t (208) = -2.190, P < 0.05. CONCLUSION There was a significant negative correlation between stress and safety practice which implies that as stress increased safety practice decreased. These study findings can be used to develop ongoing strategies and targeted interventions in addressing work-related stress.

Abstract
During the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous studies have shown the high prevalence of occupational stress (OS) of health workers, affecting the quality of health care provided. To date, there is no study regarding OS of emergency care pediatric nurses working in Greece. This study aimed to examine the pediatric nurses' OS working in tertiary public hospitals in Greece. In this cross-sectional study, a total of 104 pediatric nurses were recruited randomly from summer 2020 to summer 2021. The Expanded Nursing Stress Scale (ENSS), which consists of 59 items grouped into nine categories, was used to assess nurses OS. The overall OS mean score was 141.04 (SD = 33.48), indicating mild stress. Among nine categories, pediatric nurses were more stressed about patients and families (mean = 22.83, SD = 5.71), as well as death and dying (mean = 19.33, SD = 5.22), whereas they were less stressed about discrimination (mean = 4.21, SD = 4.09) and problems with peer support (mean = 12.11, SD = 4.58). Sex, age, and shifts did not correlate with OS. Borderline correlation was present between age and inadequate emotional preparation for less experienced nurses (p = 0.047), while higher educated pediatric nurses were more stressed because of workload than lower educated pediatric nurses (p = 0.044). Greek pediatric nurses suffered mild OS during the COVID-19 pandemic. There is a great need for further research and implementation of supportive sustainable programs aimed to the minimization of OS and the optimization of health care provided during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which emerged in China in December 2019, has severely affected many industries across the world and created substantial psychological, social and economic impact on individuals. With the coronavirus outbreak labelled as a pandemic by the World Health Organization, the first measures have been taken for the aviation industry. The crisis environment created by the pandemic had a negative impact on aviation personnel. The main purpose of this research is to investigate the mediator role of employee well-being in the effect of COVID-19 anxiety on occupational commitment. The data were collected through a survey of cabin and cockpit staff (n = 3862). After the analyses, it was found that the effect of COVID-19 anxiety on well-being, and occupational affective and normative commitment was significant. Moreover, it is among the findings that well-being has a partial mediator role in the effect of COVID-19 anxiety on occupational affective and normative commitment.

Abstract
Introduction The prevalence of occupational stress among nurses varies significantly around the globe. Nursing is often considered a stressful occupation and can have negative effects on the mental, physical, family relationships, and quality of care given to patients. The aim of this study was to explore the experiences, causes, effects, and coping strategies of occupational stress among nurses working at a health facility in Ho Municipality in Ghana. Methods The study employed a qualitative research approach with an exploratory design. Data saturation was reached with 18 participants. Purposive sampling was used to select participants, while semistructured interview guide with voice recorders were used in data collection. Data were manually transcribed and analyzed using thematic analysis. Results Overall, four main themes and ten subthemes were developed from this study. The main themes were nurses' perception of occupational stress, sources of occupational stress, effects of occupational stress, and coping strategies adopted to cope with occupational stress. The subthemes were as follows: negative and positive stressful feeling, individual level, hospital level, general body pain and fatigue, mental health problems, ineffective relationships, low work output, diversional therapy, positive work outcomes, and psychological support from others (family and colleagues). Discussion There are more negative effects of occupational stress on nurses. However, most of the nurses adopted coping strategies to reduce stress with little or no support from the hospital. More support from the hospital will be required to totally manage occupational stress. Conclusion The study findings revealed how stress affects the daily life and work output of nurses. It is crucial to comprehend how work-related stress affects nurses and what aspects of their workplace are the most burdensome.

Perceived Stress, Sexual and Marital Satisfaction among Married Healthcare Workers in Nigeria. NURSE MEDIA JOURNAL OF NURSING 2022. Abstract
Background: Marital and sexual satisfaction are essential for conjugal bliss and harmony. However, stress in the workplace can influence sexual and marital satisfaction of couples. There is dearth of information about level of sexual and marital satisfaction among healthcare workers in Nigeria, as well as the connections between stress, sexual and marital satisfaction among healthcare workers. Purpose: This study assessed inter-relationship between perceived stress, sexual and marital satisfaction among married healthcare workers.Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study adopted a quantitative approach among 150 consented healthcare workers recruited using a simple random sampling technique. Instruments for data collection included the Perceived Stress Scale, Enrich Marital Satisfaction questionnaire and Pinney Sexual Satisfaction Inventory. The Pearson correlation was used to ascertain relationships and linear regression was done to predict influence of one variable on the other.Results: Perceived level of stress of the healthcare workers was low [16.9(0.001)] and mean sexual satisfaction (SS) was poor [78.93(23.68)]. Also, 49.3% were found to be the dissatisfied maritally. Perceived stress showed a positive correlation with marital satisfaction (MS) (r=0.48, p<0.01). However, stress negatively correlated with participants’ SS with partners (r=-0.51, p<0.01). Similarly, general SS positively correlated with MS (r=0.32, p<0.01). Predictors of MS included perceived stress (β=0.614, p=0.01), age differences with spouse (β=0.30, p=0.01), number of children (β=-0.24, p=0.01), and family type (β=-0.21, p=0.05).Conclusion: Only half of the participants in this study are maritally satisfied. Marital satisfaction increases with sexual satisfaction. Stress is correlated with reduced sexual satisfaction of the participant, and as number of children increases, marital satisfaction reduces. Couples should be encouraged to give birth to moderate number of children to improve marital satisfaction.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Bullying may undermine patient safety in healthcare organizations threatening quality improvement and patient outcomes. PURPOSE To explore the associations between the nursing work environment, nurse-reported workplace bullying, and patient outcomes. METHOD Cross-sectional analysis of nurse survey data (N = 943). The Practice Environment Scale of the nursing work index was used to measure the work environment, nurse-reported bullying was measured with the short negative acts questionnaire, and single items measured care quality and patient safety grade. Random effects logistic regressions were used to determine associations controlling for individual, employment, and organizational factors. FINDINGS Fourty percent of nurses reported experiencing bullying. A higher work environment composite score was significantly associated with a lower risk of bullying (OR = 0.16 [0.12, 0.22], p < .0001). Nurses experiencing bullying were less likely to report good/excellent quality of care (OR = 0.28 [0.18, 0.44], p < .0001) or a favorable patient safety grade (OR = 0.36 [0.25, 0.51], p < .0001). DISCUSSION The nursing work environment influences the presence of bullying, which can negatively impact patient outcomes. Improving nurse work environments is one mechanism to better address nurse bullying.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION An occupational stress was reported as an inhibitor of optimal performance among nurses. Emotional intelligence (EI) has emerged as a successful behavioral buffer against occupational stress and as a facilitator for better performance. This study aimed to investigate the potential relationship between nurses' EI and their work performance; and to examine the mediating role of occupational stress. DESIGN A predictive correlational design was adopted. METHOD Self-reported questionnaires were administered to 391 full-time bedside nurses recruited from one of the big hospitals in Saudi Arabia, between April and June 2021. Data were coded and analyzed using IBM SPSS version 25.0. Simple and multiple linear regression analyses were used to test the hypotheses. The significance level for all tests was set at p ≤ 0.05. Bonferroni correction method was used to control the family-wise error rate. RESULTS The findings revealed an affirmative association between nurses' EI and work performance (β = 0.69, p < 0.001; r2 = 0.483). Additionally, an inverse association was established between nurses' EI and their perception of occupational stress (β = -0.54, p < 0.001; r2 = 0.286), and between nurses' perception of occupational stress and work performance (β = -0.52; p < 0.001; r2 = 0.226). Additionally, our results showed that occupational stress played a mediating role in the relationship between nurses' EI and work performance. CONCLUSION This study presented a novel framework that includes two factors affecting work performance among nurses in Saudi Arabia. Our results suggest that EI is vital for effective work performance among nurses. Additionally, EI was found to be a useful coping strategy against occupational stress. CLINICAL RELEVANCE EI has been described as a valuable asset for better performance and effective group cohesiveness among nurses. Optimal nurses᾽ performance leads to meeting patients᾽ needs and organizational goals.

Abstract
Introduction The aim of the study, conducted in selected inpatient units, was to evaluate and analyse the feelings and emotions which accompany nurses during their work when they face the death of patients. Material and Methods A total of 160 nurses were invited to participate in the study. The study group consisted of 40 nurses from each of the four departments of a municipal hospital: a surgery unit, an internal medicine unit, a hospital emergency department (ER) and an intensive care unit (ICU). A diagnostic survey method was used, including a questionnaire on sociodemographic data as well as questions designed by the author of the research related to the feelings of nurses provoked by the death of patients. To assess the level of anxiety and the ways of coping with stress related to contact with dying patients, Mini-COPE and PSS-10 questionnaires were used. Results Compassion, sadness and helplessness are the most common types of nurses’ emotions caused by the death of patients, regardless of the nurses’ length of service and the place of work. In the study group, 53.90% of participants experienced a high level of stress. The level of anxiety in nurses from the internal medicine ward was significantly higher than in the nurses from the intensive care unit and the emergency department. The way of coping with stress is related to the period of service and the workplace of nurses. Conclusion Nurses experience a high level of stress and strong emotions triggered by the observation of dying patients. Various styles of coping with stress can be noticed depending on job seniority and a place of employment. Due to the emotions evoked by the necessity to deal with death while performing professional duties, it is advisable to develop effective ways of coping in difficult situations.

Abstract
This cross-sectional study examined the relationship between depression, physical health, interpersonal problems, and binge-eating behavior among South Korean nurses. Self-report questionnaires were answered by 187 nurses from five hospitals. Mediating roles of depression and physical health between interpersonal problems and binge-eating behavior were examined using mediation analyses with bootstrapping. Total and direct effects of interpersonal problems on binge-eating behavior were significant. Indirect effects of path through depression and physical health as mediators, and through single mediation of physical health were significant, while indirect effects through depression were not. Thus, physical health affects nurses' vulnerability to interpersonal problems and binge-eating behavior.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The present research aimed to explore the association of self-efficacy and general health among nurses. METHODS This was a descriptive-analytical. A total of 470 nurses were selected through the stratified sampling method. To collect the required data, GSE-10 and GHQ-28 were used. Independent-sample T-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, Chi-squared test, and regression were also used to analyze the obtained data. RESULTS The results reveal a statistically significant correlation between general health and self-efficacy (t=-6.72, p < .001). Among general health parameters, social functioning has significantly predicted self-efficacy. CONCLUSIONS As shown in the present findings, an acceptable level of self-efficacy can positively affect all aspects of nurses' general health.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Different work environments may create different nurses' job stressors, and in turn, may need different social support behaviors to help nurses overcome these stressors. AIMS This study aimed at comparing nurses' job stressors and social support behaviors in three different work environments (i.e., public, teaching, and private hospitals) in Jordan and examining the predictors of these stressors and social support behaviors. MATERIALS & METHODS This was a descriptive comparative study in which data were collected using the Nursing Stress Scale and the Inventory of Social Supportive Behaviors from 139, 190, and 135 nurses from the public, teaching, and private hospitals, respectively. Descriptive and inferential statistics including comparative and multiple linear regression statistics were used. RESULTS The results indicated that there were no significant differences in the total scores of job stressors and social support behaviors among nurses at the three types of hospitals. However, significant differences were reported in the subscales of job stressors in teaching and public hospitals and in individual items of both scales across the three kinds of hospitals. Controlling for nurses' characteristics, the scores of both scales were not predicted by the type of hospitals. CONCLUSION Similar to public hospitals, teaching, and private hospitals, administrators should initiate various social support behaviors in their clinical settings, and should consider the predictors of job stressors to help nurses overcome their job stressors.

Abstract
Aim To determine the sources of occupational stress and the level of quality of life among nurses caring for older people in Lebanon and examine the underlying factors to predict nurses' quality of life. Design A descriptive correlational design. Methods Data were collected from 119 nurses using Nursing Stress Scale and WHO‐Quality of Life Brief. Results Nurses reported the highest frequency of stressful events related to their workload (mean = 16.42, SD 1.03), followed by “death and dying” (mean = 14.61, SD 1.02). Nurses reported the highest level of quality of life domains was physical health (mean = 15.74, SD = 2.63), while the lowest level was environmental domain (mean = 11.15, SD = 1.86). After controlling for demographic and work‐related variables, occupational stress explained a large variance in the physical (R2 change = .43), psychological (R2 change = .44) and social relationship (R2 change = .35) domains of quality of life.

Abstract
Aim: The study aimed to determine sources of stress and stress levels of nurses working in surgical intensive care units in addition to understanding the stress level in nurses, drawing attention and raising awareness. Material and methods: The study was conducted using a descriptive design with the participation of nurses ( n=132) working in surgical intensive care units of a university hospital. The data were collected through the source of stress identification form and perceived stress scale. The data obtained in the study were transferred to a computer environment, and for statistical analyses, the package for social sciences for Windows 25 software was used. In the analyses of the data, descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance and regression analysis, and the Bonferroni test were employed. Results: It was also determined that 28.8% of the surgical nurses were working in an organ transplant intensive care unit and 25% worked in an anaesthesia intensive care unit, that 49.3% had professional experience of between 6 and 11 years and that 92.4% worked on both day and night shifts. In the study, the rate of nurses who perceived a high level of stress was found to be 45.5%, and it was identified that 78.8% needed training in stress management. Conclusion: Imperative funding and human resources should be provided in order to give nurses problem-solving abilities and a stress management course. The financial support of the managers and spiritual support of health professionals and organising regular meetings with nurses can help nurses to experience less stress.
