Abstract
Vast amounts of dyeing wastewater released from the textile industry can not only cause water pollution but also have negative effects on the human body, such as skin irritation and respiratory diseases. Dye adsorption technology is necessary for the treatment of wastewater discharged from the dyeing industry and for environmental improvement. However, to remove dyeing wastewater, more energy and solvents are used to fabricate adsorbents, or excessive energy is used to filter dyeing wastewater out, resulting in more environmental pollution. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a method of filtering dyeing wastewater in a more environmentally friendly manner by minimizing the use of solvents and energy. In this study, we modified the surface of a textile substrate through UV irradiation to create a monomer capable of facilely bonding with dyes. Employing the UV photografting method, we were able to produce a dye adsorption filter in a more environmentally friendly manner, minimizing solvent usage and heat energy consumption required for absorbent synthesis. At a monomer concentration of 10%, the fabricated filter exhibited a dye removal efficiency of 97.34% after 24 h, all without the need for a pressure treatment or temperature increase. Moreover, it displayed an adsorption capacity of approximately 77.88 mg per 1 g of filter material.

Nitric Acid-Treated Blue Coke-Based Activated Carbon's Structural Characteristics and Its Application in Hexavalent Chromium-Containing Wastewater Treatment. Molecules 2023; 28:7986. Abstract
This study primarily focused on the efficient transformation of low-priced blue coke powder into a high-capacity adsorbent and aimed to address the pollution issue of hexavalent chromium (Cr (VI))-laden wastewater and to facilitate the effective utilization of blue coke powder. A two-step method was utilized to fabricate a blue coke-based nitric acid-modified material (LCN), and the impact of nitric acid modification on the material's structure and its efficacy in treating Cr (VI)-contaminated wastewater was evaluated. Our experimental results illustrated that, under identical conditions, LCN exhibited superior performance for Cr (VI) treatment compared to the method employing only potassium hydroxide (LCK). The specific surface area and pore volume of LCN were 1.39 and 1.36 times greater than those of LCK, respectively. Further chemical composition analysis revealed that the functional group structure on the LCN surface was more conducive to Cr (VI) adsorption. The highest amount of Cr (VI) that LCN could bind was measured at 181.962 mg/g at 318 K. This was mostly due to chemisorption, which is dominated by redox reactions. The Cr (VI) removal process by LCN was identified to be a spontaneous, exothermic, and entropy-increasing process. Several tests on recycling and reuse showed that LCN is a stable and effective chromium-containing wastewater adsorbent, showing that it could be used in many situations.

Eco-friendly adsorbents based on abietic acid, boswellic acid, and chitosan/magnetite for removing waste oil from the surface of the water. Abstract
Petroleum oil leakage and industrial oily waste on the water surface are sustainable pollutions. The removal process by eco-friendly adsorbents is a critical challenge. It also requires sustainable treatment. The natural hydrophobic material such as abietic acid, boswellic acid, and chitosan was added to magnetite nanoparticles with different concentrations of 10, 15, and 20% on its surface. The magnetite acquires partially hydrophobic properties. The prepared natural adsorbents were analyzed by employing wide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), particle size and zeta potential, and contact angle measurements. Chitosan adsorbs at the outer surface of magnetite nanoparticles while boswellic and abietic absorb in bulk. All prepared adsorbents are effective in adsorbing waste oil from the water surface. The contact angle of MB20 (magnetite/20 percent boswellic) is greater than that of MA20 and MC20 (magnetite/20% abietic or chitosan, respectively), indicating that it has more hydrophobic characteristics. The oil removal efficiency and adsorption capacity of MB20 are the highest values 57.6%, and 24 g/g, respectively. All eco-friendly adsorbents are nontoxic with low-cost production and are used many times.

Abstract
In this paper, DSA-AAD-DA and DSA-TPDH-DA were prepared to effectively remove metal ions and cationic dyes from aqueous solution. The hydrazone structure was prepared by hydrazide-modified SA which captured metal ions selectively, and the remaining functional groups were used as active adsorption sites for cationic dyes. The thermodynamic parameter for the sorption demonstrated the process is endothermic and spontaneous. In single process, the adsorption of metal ions by DSA-AAD-DA and DSA-TPDH-DA correlated well with the Freundlich model through the hydrazone structure coordination and ion exchange which was mainly chemical adsorption, and cationic dyes adsorption correlated well with the Langmuir model which was shown monolayer adsorption was dominant by hydrogen bonding, electrostatic interaction, and π-π interaction. In binary system, the mixed adsorption shown significant antagonism effect in high concentration, but cationic dyes and metal ions in low concentration were efficiently and simultaneously removed, the adsorption ability of DSA-TPDH-DA was much better than DSA-AAD-DA. Moreover, adsorption efficiency can still maintain more than 80% after five times adsorption-desorption recycle. Therefore, DSA-AAD-DA and DSA-TPDH-DA possessed great potential for wastewater treatment.
