Abstract
Undoubtedly, the mental health of healthcare workers (HCWs) was negatively affected because of caring for patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, literature is limited on mapping the challenges and needs of HCWs during COVID-19 pandemic. A widely used framework in public health for mapping evidence includes the socio-ecological models, suggesting behavior can be influenced by individual, interpersonal, organizational, and community factors. The aim of this rapid scoping review was to use the socio-ecological model to map and compile lessons learnt from the literature regarding primarily the challenges and needs and secondly available psychological interventions for HCWs caring for COVID-19 patients. PubMed, CINAHL and Scopus databases were searched, with 21 studies finally included examining challenges and needs of HCWs and 18 studies presenting psychological interventions. Organizational-level challenges and needs such as inadequate staff preparation and supplies of protective equipment, flexible work policies and paid rest periods were the most reported. Individual-level challenges and needs included COVID-19-related fears and reduced mental health, whereas interpersonal-related needs included support provision. Community-level challenges included societal stigma. Certain psychological interventions were found to be promising for HCWs, but these were utilized to address only individual-level challenges and needs. Given that well-being entails an interaction of factors, multi-level interventions addressing multiple socio-ecological levels (interpersonal, organizational, community) and that place HCWs in their social context should be administrated to increase and maintain intervention' effects long-term and possibly aid in better coping with future pandemics.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Telepresence may play a fundamental role in establishing authentic interactions and relationships in online psychological interventions and can be measured by the Telepresence in Videoconference Scale (TVS), which was validated only with patients to date. This post hoc study aimed to validate the Italian version of the TVS with mental health professionals. METHOD The Italian TVS was included in an online survey, whose primary aim was to assess the experiences of Italian psychologists and psychotherapists with online interventions during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and was filled in by 296 participants (83.4% females, mean age = 42 years old). RESULTS Exploratory factor analysis supported the original factor structure only partially because the scale 'Absorption' (i.e., the feeling of losing track of time), as it was formulated, did not measure telepresence. Correlations were also explored between the TVS scales and some survey items pertaining to intimacy and emotional closeness to patients, comfort and positive as well as negative experiences with online interventions. CONCLUSION The TVS may be a useful tool to measure physical and social telepresence in online interventions, both in patients and in professionals.

Abstract
Background: Since the 1990s, society has witnessed a surge in information and communication technologies that extended to the health care system. Teleconsultation platforms have become widely established tools that provide an opportunity for emerging countries such as Lebanon to expand and advance health care services. However, their use in Lebanon remains limited considering many people's preference to resort to nonmedical platforms such as WhatsApp for consultations. Methods: The purpose of this mixed-method study is to evaluate patients' and physicians' attitudes toward teleconsultation platforms versus WhatsApp consultations in Lebanon. In the quantitative component, 1,467 patients were administered a self-developed questionnaire, while in the qualitative component, a semistructured interview was conducted with 14 physicians practicing in Lebanon. Results: Results revealed that teleconsultation platforms and WhatsApp are not interchangeable. Patients' and physicians' experiences, perceptions, and satisfaction with teleconsultation platforms and WhatsApp are discussed. Conclusions: Individual and governmental recommendations for safer, more controlled, and more ethical online consultation practices are provided for both physicians and patients, through both modalities.

Abstract
Online consultation services have the potential to reduce the workload of healthcare staff, provide timely care to patients, and improve doctor-patient relationships. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the development of these services and platforms, but it remains to be seen whether the general public will continue to use them after the pandemic is under control. This research proposes a framework to examine the factors contributing to UK adults' continued usage of online healthcare consultation services after COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. A total of 430 new users completed surveys, and the results indicate that expectation confirmation, system quality, and information quality can positively impact users' self-efficacy toward using online consultation services. This, in turn, can influence their continued usage behavior. Furthermore, the results suggest that participants' perception of health risks can moderate the relationship between self-efficacy and continued usage behavior. The strategic implications of these findings are discussed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND While the COVID-19 crisis has had numerous global negative impacts, it has also presented an imperative for mental health care systems to make digital mental health interventions a part of routine care. Accordingly, through necessity, many Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) programs transitioned to telehealth, despite little information on clinical outcomes compared with face-to-face treatment delivery. This study examined differences in client engagement (i.e. attendance) of DBT: delivered face-to-face prior to the first COVID-19 lockdown in Australia and New Zealand; delivered via telehealth during the lockdown; and delivered post-lockdown. Our primary outcomes were to compare: [1] client attendance rates of DBT individual therapy delivered face-to-face with delivery via telehealth, and [2] client attendance rates of DBT skills training delivered face-to-face compared with delivery via telehealth. METHODS DBT programs across Australia and New Zealand provided de-identified data for a total of 143 individuals who received DBT treatment provided via telehealth or face-to-face over a six-month period in 2020. Data included attendance rates of DBT individual therapy sessions; attendance rates of DBT skills training sessions as well as drop-out rates and First Nations status of clients. RESULTS A mixed effects logistic regression model revealed no significant differences between attendance rates for clients attending face-to-face sessions or telehealth sessions for either group therapy or individual therapy. This result was found for clients who identified as First Nations persons and those who didn't identify as First Nations persons. CONCLUSIONS Clients were as likely to attend their DBT sessions over telehealth as they were face-to-face during the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic. These findings provide preliminary evidence that providing DBT over telehealth may be a viable option to increase access for clients, particularly in areas where face-to-face treatment is not available. Further, based on the data collected in this study, we can be less concerned that offering telehealth treatment will compromise attendance rates compared to face-to-face treatment. Further research is needed comparing clinical outcomes between treatments delivered face-to-face compared delivery via telehealth.

Abstract
Higher education students are frequently required to assess lecturers with a convenient, fast, and anonymous learning management system. Following the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak, Universiti Teknologi MARA Malaysia (UiTM) adopted a remote teaching and learning approach. This study examined how lecturers' professionalism, course impression, and facilitating conditions at UiTM affected undergraduate and graduate students' remote learning pre- and mid-pandemic. The higher prediction accuracy of the model demonstrated that students' remote learning activities were highly related to lecturers' professionalism, course impression, and facilitating conditions. The structural model demonstrated that the t-statistics of all measurement variables were significant at 1%. The strongest predictor of students' enjoyment of remote learning pre- and mid-pandemic was lecturers' professionalism. In the importance-performance matrix, lecturers' professionalism was in the quadrant for 'keep up the good work'. Facilitating conditions and course impression did not require further improvement even during the pandemic. The influence of remote learning was demonstrated in the students' graduation rates and grades. The results also presented theoretical and practical implications for the UiTM hybrid learning plan post-pandemic.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Allied Health Professionals (AHP) consist of 13 different specialty roles in Wales, sharing the responsibility of promoting and supporting the health and well-being of the population. During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a shift in care provision, with the increased use of online consultations, such as those using video consultation platforms. However, this shift was associated with uncertainty and hesitancy, and, thus, to understand the usage and reasons for using video consultations, this study aimed to capture the experiences of both AHP and their patients, while investigating each role individually. PARTICIPANTS A survey was distributed to and completed by n=8928 patients and n=4974 clinicians, all AHP were included except for orthoptists and paramedics due to ambiguities in the data. A further 86 clinicians participated in phone interviews. RESULTS All professions had a high prevention of face-to-face with the use of video consultations (68.6% overall and 81.4% of clinicians reported the prevention). However, this was lower for certain professions such as podiatrists, potentially due to the specific patient needs, such as physical assessments. Also, a range of different appointment types were being conducted, and there was a high acceptance of these alternative methods among participants. The interviews with clinicians revealed five important aspects of video consultations: the perceived benefits, the perceived challenges, technology issues and necessary improvements, clinician preference and the future of video consulting. Specifically, the future of video consulting evidenced clinicians' desire for a blended approach to working, selecting the appropriate modality depending on the situation and patient-specific needs. CONCLUSIONS Integrating the traditional methods of service delivery (face-to-face), and novel, innovative ways, such as video consultations, can motivate positive transformations for the efficiency and efficacy of health and social care.

Abstract
Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated a reduction in face-to-face consultations, resulting in significant limitations in healthcare for individuals with depression. To ensure safe and adequate care, e-health services, such as telemedicine, gained a more prominent role. Governments have eased restrictions on the use of telemedicine, enabling healthcare professionals to increasingly offer video and telephone consultations. Objective This study examines, 1) possible changes over the course of the pandemic in reported use of video and telephone consultations and intended future use of video consultations with healthcare professionals among adults with diagnosed depression; 2) their attitudes towards video and telephone consultations and perceived barriers towards using e-health after prolonged time of the pandemic; and 3) differences in results between subgroups based on sociodemographic and clinical characteristics. Methods Three population-representative online surveys were conducted in Germany at different timepoints (t) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Respondents aged 18-69 years with a professionally diagnosed depression were included in the present analyses (t1: June/July 2020 with n = 1094; t2: February 2021 with n = 1038; t3: September 2021 with n = 1255). Results The overall proportion of adults with depression who used video or telephone consultations did not change significantly in the time surveyed (t1: 16.51 %, n = 179; t2: 20.23 %, n = 210; t3: 18.47 %, n = 230). However, among users, reported use of video consultations with a psychotherapist increased significantly from t1 (34.83 %, n = 62) to t3 (44.98 %, n = 102, p = .023). Intended future use of VC for healthcare varied depending on the purpose of the consultation. Significant differences over time were only found for the purpose of using VC to discuss clinical findings, laboratory results and diagnostic analyses with a doctor, with higher intentions reported at t2 during lockdown in Germany. At t3, the majority of adults with depression felt that video and telephone consultations were too impersonal and considered them more as a helpful support rather than an alternative to face-to-face psychotherapy. Key barriers to using e-health were found within the societal context and the lacking support from significant others for using e-health, while knowledge and skills represented facilitators for using e-health. Conclusion Despite ambivalent attitudes towards video and telephone consultations among adults with depression, reported use of video consultations with a psychotherapist increased during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract
All over the world, measures were taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Social distancing not only had a strong influence on mental health, but also on the organization of care systems. It changed existing practices, as we had to rapidly move from face-to-face contact to remote contact with patients. These changes have prompted research into the attitudes of mental healthcare professionals towards telepsychology. Several factors affect these attitudes: at the institutional and organizational level, but also the collective and personal experience of practitioners. This paper is based on an original European survey conducted by the EFPA (European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations) Project Group on eHealth in 2020, which allowed to observe the variability in perceptions of telepsychology between countries and mental healthcare professionals. This study highlights different variables that contributed to the development of attitudes, such as motivations, acquired experience, or training. We found the “feeling of telepresence”—which consists of forgetting to some extent that we are at a distance, in feeling together—and social telepresence in particular as main determinants of the perception and the practice of telepsychology.

Abstract
Background: Connected mental health (CMH) presents several technology-based solutions, which can help overcome many mental care delivery barriers. However, attitudes toward the use of CMH are diverse and differ from a cohort to another. Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the global attitudes toward CMH use and assess the use of technology for mental care. Methods: This study presents a synthesis of literature available in Scopus, Science Direct, and PubMed digital libraries, investigating attitudes toward CMH in different cohorts from different countries, based on a systematic review of relevant publications. This study also analyzes technology use patterns of the cohorts investigated, the reported preferred criteria that should be considered in CMH, and issues and concerns regarding CMH use. Results: One hundred and one publications were selected and analyzed. These publications were originated from different countries, with the majority (n = 23) being conducted in Australia. These studies reported positive attitudes of investigated cohorts toward CMH use and high technology use and ownership. Several preferred criteria were reported, mainly revolving around providing blended care functionalities, educational content, and mental health professionals (MHPs) support. Whereas concerns and issues related to CMH use addressed technical problems related to access to technology and to CMH solutions, the digital divide, lack of knowledge and use of CMH, and general reservations to use CMH. Concerns related to institutional and work barriers were also identified. Conclusions: Attitudes toward CMH show promising results from users and MHP views. However, factors such as providing blended care options and considering technical concerns should be taken into consideration for the successful adoption of CMH.

Abstract
Background: Telemedicine is one of the most modern and fastest-growing branches of medicine. The most common form is video consultation. We distinguish between synchronous and asynchronous telepsychiatry. This study aims to show the benefits of using telepsychiatry services, the challenges it poses to users, and to evaluate its use against traditional therapy.
Materials and methods: A review of literature from 1956-2023 in EMBASE, OpenKnowledge and PubMed databases was conducted. Keywords used were: telepsychiatry, teletherapy, and digital psychiatry. Ninety-eight articles were included.
Discussion: Telepsychiatry is an opportunity for regions affected by medical staff shortages. It bypasses cultural barriers, the problem of traveling and reduces the cost of medical point-of-service. Telepsychiatry is an opportunity for patients who do not use psychiatrists due to discrimination in a conservative society. Groups that may find it challenging include the elderly, the blind, and the deaf. Creating a healthy therapeutic alliance through a screen can be impossible, making it difficult to achieve successful therapy. A barrier to developing telepsychiatry is the need for more guidelines for dealing with medical errors.
Conclusions: Telemedicine can help in accessing specialized care regardless of location. Telepsychiatry provides a safe and anonymous environment for patients reluctant to receive inpatient therapy. The effectiveness of online therapy is primarily debated. Telepsychiatry should be limited to follow-up consultations and well-known patients - it is a form of complementing the diagnosis and treatment process. The authors point to the need for developing specific guidelines for conducting teletherapy with particular attention to the problem of suicide.

Abstract
Sentiment analysis furnishes consumer concerns regarding products, enabling product enhancement development. Existing sentiment analysis using machine learning techniques is computationally intensive and less reliable. Deep learning in sentiment analysis approaches such as long short term memory has adequately evolved, and the selection of optimal hyperparameters is a significant issue. This study combines the LSTM with differential grey wolf optimization (LSTM-DGWO) deep learning model. The app review dataset is processed using the bidirectional encoder representations from transformers (BERT) framework for efficient word embeddings. Then, review features are extracted by the genetic algorithm (GA), and the optimal review feature set is extracted using the firefly algorithm (FA). Finally, the LSTM-DGWO model categorizes app reviews, and the DGWO algorithm optimizes the hyperparameters of the LSTM model. The proposed model outperformed conventional methods with a greater accuracy of 98.89%. The findings demonstrate that sentiment analysis can be practically applied to understand the customer's perception of enhancing products from a business perspective.

Abstract
Digital innovations in mental health offer great potential, but present unique challenges. Using a consensus development panel approach, an expert, international, cross-disciplinary panel met to provide a framework to conceptualise digital mental health innovations, research into mechanisms and effectiveness and approaches for clinical implementation. Key questions and outputs from the group were agreed by consensus, and are presented and discussed in the text and supported by case examples in an accompanying appendix. A number of key themes emerged. (1) Digital approaches may work best across traditional diagnostic systems: we do not have effective ontologies of mental illness and transdiagnostic/symptom-based approaches may be more fruitful. (2) Approaches in clinical implementation of digital tools/interventions need to be creative and require organisational change: not only do clinicians and patients need training and education to be more confident and skilled in using digital technologies to support shared care decision-making, but traditional roles need to be extended, with clinicians working alongside digital navigators and non-clinicians who are delivering protocolised treatments. (3) Designing appropriate studies to measure the effectiveness of implementation is also key: including digital data raises unique ethical issues, and measurement of potential harms is only just beginning. (4) Accessibility and codesign are needed to ensure innovations are long lasting. (5) Standardised guidelines for reporting would ensure effective synthesis of the evidence to inform clinical implementation. COVID-19 and the transition to virtual consultations have shown us the potential for digital innovations to improve access and quality of care in mental health: now is the ideal time to act.

Abstract
Mental health services continue to experience rising demand that exceeds capacity. The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated this crisis, with access to services being reduced. Although video consultations (VCs) are a solution, usage in UK community mental healthcare settings remains limited. This study aims to investigate psychiatrists' and general practitioners' (GPs) perceptions of the benefits and challenges of VC for the diagnosis and follow-up of general adult mental health patients in the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Semi-structured interviews in NHS community mental healthcare settings were conducted. Psychiatrists (n = 11) and GPs (n = 12) were recruited through purposive sampling. An explorative qualitative approach was employed. Data were analysed using thematic analysis. Four key themes were identified: (1) patient access to VC, (2) suitability of VC for mental health consultations, (3) information gathering with VC and (4) clinician satisfaction with VC. This study provides valuable insights into the experiences of psychiatrists and GPs working in the UK during the COVID-19 pandemic. To facilitate a digital-first future for the NHS, greater investment in remote technologies is required, particularly in the context of growing mental healthcare demand. Though face-to-face consultations remain the gold standard, VC provides an efficient way of communicating with patients, particularly those with less severe forms of mental illness.

Abstract
(1) Background: The COVID-19 pandemic posed new challenges to clinical practice and delineated future directions for online interventions in psychological care. The present study aimed to explore Italian psychologists' and psychotherapists' experiences of online interventions during the pandemic, focusing on the strategies they used to develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with their patients. (2) Methods: Between February and July 2021, 368 Italian psychologists and/or psychotherapists completed an online survey. A mixed-methods analysis was conducted, using Jamovi to analyze quantitative data and ATLAS.ti 9 to analyze qualitative data. (3) Results: Of the participants, 62% had never delivered online interventions before the pandemic; though 95.4% were delivering online interventions at the time of the survey, many reported facing technical disruptions (77.1%) and having little confidence in the online setting (45.3%). Feeling present in online sessions-facilitated by emotional attunement, active listening, and conversational spontaneity-was reported as "very important" by 93.6%. (4) Conclusions: Overall, the COVID-19 pandemic allowed a great leap forward in the use of online interventions by Italian psychologists and psychotherapists. This period of upheaval generated not only a positive change in their attitudes toward and intention to use online interventions but also revealed associated technical and relational issues that must be properly addressed.

Abstract
Background There is a great evidence base today for the effectiveness of e-mental health, or the use of technology in mental healthcare. However, large-scale implementation in mental healthcare organisations is lacking, especially in inpatient specialized mental healthcare settings. Aim The current study aimed to gain insights into the factors that promote or hinder the implementation of e-mental health applications on organisational, professional and patient levels in Belgium. Methods Four Belgian psychiatric hospitals and psychiatric departments of general hospitals invited their professionals and patients to use Moodbuster, which is a modular web-based platform with a connected smartphone application for monitoring. The platform was used in addition to treatment as usual for three to four months. The professionals and patients completed pre- and post-implementation questionnaires on their reasons to participate or to decline participation and experiences with the Moodbuster platform. Results Main reasons for the organisations to participate in the implementation study were a general interest in e-mental health and seeing it is a helpful add-on to regular treatment. The actual use of Moodbuster by professionals and patients proved to be challenging with only 10 professionals and 24 patients participating. Implementation was hindered by technical difficulties and inpatient care specific factors such as lack of structural facilities to use e-mental health and patient-specific factors. Professionals saw value in using e-mental health applications for bridging the transition from inpatient to outpatient care. Twenty-two professionals and 31 patients completed the questionnaire on reasons not to participate. For the patients, lack of motivation because of too severe depressive symptoms was the most important reason not to participate. For professionals, it was lack of time and high workload. Conclusions The current implementation study reveals several important barriers to overcome in order to successfully implement e-mental health in inpatient psychiatric care.

Remote Consultations for Mental Health: Patient Experiences. J Community Health 2022; 48:347-352. Abstract
OBJECTIVE An exponential implementation of remote mental health care has been observed, but little data is available on experiences and barriers of remote health from a patient's perspective. This study investigated experiences associated with several forms of remote consultations (both telephone and online video) for mental health care during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic with a particular focus on patients' experiences. METHODS This study includes results of an online web-based survey filled in by 512 patients on the use and experiences of remote mental health consultations and circulating between March and October 2021. RESULTS Psychiatric consultations were initiated by the health care provider in 47.0% of cases, while psychological consultations were most often initiated in shared decision with the patient (54.9%). Only 28.8% of participants mentioned advantages regarding teleconsultations over face-to-face, compared to 39.3% for online video consultations. Moreover, 49.3% saw clear disadvantages for teleconsultations and 32.7% for video consultations. Positive factors associated with remote mental health care included when faced with transportation problems, followed by consultations primarily focusing on medication (for telephone consultations) or on more practical aspects (for video consultations). 25.0% of patients deemed conversations when being angry or sad to be feasible by telephone, and 33.0% considered these feasibly using video consultations. CONCLUSION Remote consultations were deemed feasible, but the positive factors did not seem to outweigh the face-to-face contacts from a patient's perspective. Remote consultations will probably remain present in the following decades, although care must be taken when providing the possibility of remote mental health care.

Technology may expand the reach of stress management to broader populations. However, issues with engagement can reduce intervention effectiveness. Technologies with highly social interfaces, such as virtual humans (VH), may offer advantages in this space. However, it is unclear how VH compare to telehealth and e-manuals at delivering psychological interventions. This experiment compared the effects of single laboratory session of Cognitive Behavioral Stress Management (CBSM) delivered by a VH (VH-CBSM), human telehealth (T-CBSM), and an e-manual (E-CBSM) on psychological and physiological outcomes in a community sample of stressed adult women. A pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT) with a parallel, mixed design was conducted. Adult women (M age =43.21, SD = 10.70) who self-identified as stressed were randomly allocated to VH-CBSM, T-CBSM, or E-CBSM involving one 90 min session and homework. Perceived stress, stress management skills, negative affect, optimism, relaxation, and physiological stress were measured. Mixed factorial ANOVAs and pairwise comparisons with Bonferroni correction investigated main and interaction effects of time and condition. Participants’ data (N = 38) were analysed (12 = VH-CBSM; 12 = T-CBSM; 14 = E-CBSM). Each condition significantly improved stress, negative affect, optimism, relaxation, and physiological stress over time with large effect sizes. No significant differences were found between conditions on outcomes. Overall, all three technologies showed promise for remotely delivering CBSM in a controlled setting. The findings suggest feasibility of the VH-CBSM delivery approach and support conducting a fully powered RCT to examine its effectiveness when delivering a full 10-week CBSM intervention.

Abstract
Objective: This study aimed to test the feasibility and efficacy of a self-guided online cognitive behaviour therapy (iCBT) for university students in Hong Kong during COVID-19. Method: One group pre-post-test design with convenient sampling was adopted in this study, involving 84 university students who received a newly developed iCBT within an 8 week intervention period. The iCBT offered eight online modules for students to learn the skills of CBT at home through an online platform which was accessible any time anywhere anonymously with technical support only. Standardized assessment tools were used for outcomes assessment at the pre- and post-intervention periods. Results: Three quarters of participants completed all iCBT modules. The results of paired t-tests showed that, after completing the iCBT, participants showed reduction in anxiety, depression, and perceived stress. Conclusion: This study provides preliminary evidences to support the feasibility and efficacy of the self-guided iCBT for university students during COVID-19.

Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic of the last two years has affected the lives of many individuals, especially the most vulnerable and at-risk population groups, e.g., older adults. While social distancing and isolation are shown to be effective at decreasing the transmission of the virus, these actions have also increased loneliness and social isolation. To combat social distancing from family and friends, older adults have turned to technology for help. In the health sector, these individuals also had a variety of options that strengthened eHealth care services. This study analyzed the technologies used during the COVID-19 pandemic by a group of older people, as well as explored their expectations of use after the pandemic period. Qualitative and ethnographic interviews were conducted with 10 Portuguese older adults, and data were collected over a period of seven months between 2020 and 2021. The research demonstrated that the use of current and new technologies in the post-pandemic future is likely to be related to overcoming: (i) insecurity regarding privacy issues; (ii) difficulties in using technologies due to the level of use of digital technology; and (iii) the human distancing and impersonal consequences of using these technologies.

Abstract
Le contexte de la crise sanitaire a conduit les psychologues exerçant en institution ou en libéral à adapter leurs modalités de travail aux contraintes du confinement, notamment en recourant au distanciel. Cette enquête exploratoire a pour but de documenter cette évolution des pratiques, en lien avec le COVID 19. Une enquête en ligne a été réalisée auprès de praticiens, permettant de collecter 397 réponses. Les questions portaient sur le recours au distanciel (temps, activité), avant, pendant et après la période de crise. Si l’usage du distanciel était peu fréquent avant la crise, près de 3/4 des psychologues y ont recouru pendant, et un peu moins de la moitié pense y avoir recours après. Le temps consacré à ces pratiques dépend des missions et des statuts. Il est ainsi plus important pour les tâches administratives et les réunions que pour les prises en charges, et plus souvent envisagé par les psychologues libéraux que les salariés. Au-delà des constats généraux, la prise en compte du statut et du domaine d’activité permet une photographie des évolutions en cours.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Telemental health (delivering mental health care via video calls, telephone calls, or SMS text messages) is becoming increasingly widespread. Telemental health appears to be useful and effective in providing care to some service users in some settings, especially during an emergency restricting face-to-face contact, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. However, important limitations have been reported, and telemental health implementation risks the reinforcement of pre-existing inequalities in service provision. If it is to be widely incorporated into routine care, a clear understanding is needed of when and for whom it is an acceptable and effective approach and when face-to-face care is needed. OBJECTIVE This rapid realist review aims to develop a theory about which telemental health approaches work (or do not work), for whom, in which contexts, and through what mechanisms. METHODS Rapid realist reviewing involves synthesizing relevant evidence and stakeholder expertise to allow timely development of context-mechanism-outcome (CMO) configurations in areas where evidence is urgently needed to inform policy and practice. The CMO configurations encapsulate theories about what works for whom and by what mechanisms. Sources included eligible papers from 2 previous systematic reviews conducted by our team on telemental health; an updated search using the strategy from these reviews; a call for relevant evidence, including "gray literature," to the public and key experts; and website searches of relevant voluntary and statutory organizations. CMO configurations formulated from these sources were iteratively refined, including through discussions with an expert reference group, including researchers with relevant lived experience and frontline clinicians, and consultation with experts focused on three priority groups: children and young people, users of inpatient and crisis care services, and digitally excluded groups. RESULTS A total of 108 scientific and gray literature sources were included. From our initial CMO configurations, we derived 30 overarching CMO configurations within four domains: connecting effectively; flexibility and personalization; safety, privacy, and confidentiality; and therapeutic quality and relationship. Reports and stakeholder input emphasized the importance of personal choice, privacy and safety, and therapeutic relationships in telemental health care. The review also identified particular service users likely to be disadvantaged by telemental health implementation and a need to ensure that face-to-face care of equivalent timeliness remains available. Mechanisms underlying the successful and unsuccessful application of telemental health are discussed. CONCLUSIONS Service user choice, privacy and safety, the ability to connect effectively, and fostering strong therapeutic relationships need to be prioritized in delivering telemental health care. Guidelines and strategies coproduced with service users and frontline staff are needed to optimize telemental health implementation in real-world settings. Abstract
INTRODUCTION While online consultations have shown promise to be a means for the effective delivery of high-quality mental healthcare and the first implementations of these digital therapeutic contacts go back nearly two decades, uptake has remained limited over the years. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic dramatically altered this relative standstill and created a unique turning point, with a massive amount of both professionals and clients having first hands-on experiences with technology in mental healthcare. OBJECTIVE The current study aimed to document the uptake of online consultations and explore if specific characteristics of mental health professionals across and beyond Europe could predict this. METHODS An international survey was designed to assess mental health professionals' (initial) experiences with online consultations at the onset of the pandemic: their willingness to make use of them and their prior and current experiences, alongside several personal characteristics. Logistic mixed-effects models were used to identify predictors of the use of online consultations, personal experience with this modality, and the sense of telepresence. RESULTS A total of 9115 healthcare professionals from 73 countries participated of which about two-thirds used online consultations during the initial COVID-19 outbreak. The current study identifies multiple determinants relating to the use and experience of online consultations, including the professionals' age, experience with the technology before the outbreak, the professional context, and training. CONCLUSIONS Despite strong evidence supporting the relevance of training in digital mental health, this is clearly still lacking. Nevertheless, the COVID-19 pandemic presented a first, and potentially transformative, experience with online consultations for many healthcare professionals. The insights from this study can help support professionals and, importantly, (mental) healthcare organisations to create optimal circumstances for selective and high-quality continued use of online consultations.

Abstract
Many eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapists moved their practice online during COVID-19. We conducted surveys and interviews to understand the implementation and acceptability of online EMDR therapy. From 17 June to 2nd August 2021 an online survey was open to EMDR therapists from the EMDR Association UK & Ireland and EMDR International Association email lists, and, through them, their clients. Questions related to determinants of implementation (for therapists) and acceptability (for clients) of online EMDR. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with a sample of therapist respondents to provide a deeper understanding of survey responses. Survey responses were received from therapists (n = 562) from five continents, and their clients (n = 148). 88% of clients responded as being extremely or very comfortable receiving EMDR therapy online. At the initial point of ‘social distancing’, 54% of therapists indicated strong or partial reluctance to deliver online EMDR therapy compared to 11% just over one year later. Four fifths of therapists intended to continue offering online therapy after restrictions were lifted. Free-text responses and interview data showed that deprivation and clinical severity could lead to exclusion from online EMDR. Internet connectivity could disrupt sessions, lead to cancellations, or affect the therapy process. Therapists benefited from training in online working. Online EMDR is generally acceptable to therapists and clients, with reservations about digital exclusion, case severity, poor internet connectivity and the need for training. Further research is needed to confirm that online EMDR is clinically non-inferior to in-person working.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although E-mental health (EMH) interventions have been shown to be effective in the treatment of mental health problems and empirical knowledge regarding EMH acceptance for different occupations in health care is established, little is known regarding EMH and psychotherapists-in-training. This seems particularly relevant as psychotherapists-in-training will shape the future health care system since they are as being the next generation of psychotherapists. With social distancing measures in place, COVID-19 has led to an increased demand for EMH, which is broadening the way psychological treatments are delivered. OBJECTIVE The present study aims to assess the acceptance of EMH and its determinants among psychotherapists-in-training of different EMH modalities and to retrospectively compare current acceptance with pre-COVID-19 times. METHODS Altogether, 29 training institutions in Switzerland and 232 training institutions in Germany were contacted, resulting in a sample of N = 216 psychotherapists-in-training (88.4 % female) who filled out the self-administered web-based questionnaire in summer 2020. The acceptance of EMH was assessed considering several different modalities (e.g., videoconference, guided self-help programs) as well as further possible predictors of EMH acceptance based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology. Acceptance scores were categorized as low, moderate or high based on prior research and predicted using multiple regression. RESULTS Acceptance of EMH was moderate (M = 3.40, SD = 1.11) and increased significantly (t(215) = 12.03, p < .01; d = 0.88) compared to pre-COVID-19 (M = 2.67, SD = 1.11); however, acceptance varied significantly between modalities (F(2.6, 561.7) = 62.93, p < .01, partial η2 = 0.23), with videoconferencing being the most accepted and unguided programs the least. Stepwise regression including three of 14 variables (R2 = 0.55, F (14, 201) = 17.68, p < .001) identified performance expectancy, social influence and concerns about the therapeutic alliance as significant determinants of EMH acceptance. DISCUSSION Acceptance by psychotherapists-in-training was moderate and in line with prior research and comparable with other clinicians' acceptance scores. Performance expectancy, social influence and concerns about the therapeutic alliance were predictive of EMH acceptance, indicating their significance in the implementation of EMH in health care. CONCLUSION These findings underline the importance of the aforementioned determinants of EMH acceptance and the need for further studies investigating EMH acceptance in order to derive adequate educational programs and to facilitate dissemination among psychotherapists-in-training.

Abstract
Suicidal ideation and deaths among children and adolescents have seen an unprecedented rise over the last ten years, recently further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. This research explores mental health professionals’ approaches to delivering suicide prevention treatment services. Using insights from Giddens’ structuration theory, the study examines licensed mental health professionals’ (1) reflections on suicide prevention trainings for those in their profession, (2) appraisals of available treatment options, and (3) assessments of postvention services provided to professionals who encounter a client suicide. Additional attention was given to the structural impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on intervention services. Data were collected through qualitative interviews with youth mental health clinicians in the state of Texas. Results underscore the interplay between structural influences and practitioner innovations in the delivery of these essential services to a vulnerable population. This study underscores the agency of mental health professionals in navigating the demands of a difficult profession.

Abstract
During the COVID-19 pandemic, mental health services rapidly transitioned to virtual care. Although such services can improve access for underserved populations, they may also present unique challenges, especially for refugee newcomers. This study examined the multidimensional nature of access to virtual mental health (VMH) care for refugee newcomers during the COVID-19 pandemic, using Levesque et al.'s Client-Centered Framework for Assessing Access to Health Care. One hundred and eight structured and semi structured interviews were conducted in four Canadian provinces (8 community leaders, 37 newcomer clients, 63 mental health or service providers or managers). Deductive qualitative analysis, based on the Client-Centered Framework, identified several overarching themes: challenges due to the cost and complexity of using technology; comfort for VMH outside clinical settings; sustainability post-COVID-19; and communication and the therapeutic alliance. Mental health organizations, community organizations, and service providers can improve access to (virtual) mental health care for refugee newcomers by addressing cultural and structural barriers, tailoring services, and offering choice and flexibility to newcomers.

Abstract
Background Despite solid evidence supporting the efficacy of electronic mental health (EMH) services, their acceptance among psychotherapists is limited and uptake rates remain low. However, the acceptance of different EMH services has yet barely been examined in future generations of psychotherapists in a differentiated manner. The aims of this study were (1) to elaborate the intention to use various EMH services for different application purposes and (2) to determine predictors of EMH service acceptance among psychotherapists in clinical training (PiT). Materials and Methods Our paper is based on a secondary data analysis of a cross-sectional survey. Respondents were recruited via recognized educational institutions for psychotherapy within Germany and the German-speaking part of Switzerland between June and July of 2020. The survey contained items on the intention to use different EMH services (i.e., guided and unguided programs, virtual reality, psychotherapy by telephone and videoconference) for various application purposes (i.e., prevention, treatment addition, treatment substitute, aftercare). Potential predictors of EMH service acceptance (e.g., barriers and advantages) were examined based on an extension of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). Results Most of the n = 216 respondents were female (88.4%) and located in Germany (72.2%). General acceptance of EMH was moderate (M = 3.4, SD = 1.12, range 1-5), while acceptance of psychotherapy via videoconference was highest (M = 3.7, SD = 1.15) and acceptance of unguided programs was lowest (M = 2.55, SD = 1.14). There was an interaction effect of EMH service and application purpose (η2 = 0.21). Barriers and advantages both had a uniform influence on EMH service acceptance (Pr > 0.999), while impersonality, legal concerns, concerns about therapeutic alliance, simplified information provision, simplified contact maintenance, time flexibility, and geographic flexibility were significant predictors (all p < 0.05). Results showed that the extended UTAUT model was the best fitting model to predict EMH service acceptance (Pr > 0.999). Conclusions The intention to use different EMH services varied between application purposes among PiT. To increase acceptance of EMH services and reduce misconceptions, we identified predictors that should be addressed in future acceptance-facilitating interventions when educating PiT.

Abstract
Objective Models explaining technology acceptance fail to recognize the influence temporary, compulsory usage, meaning forced usage due to external factors, may have on user evaluation and continued diffusion. However, in context of the Covid-19 pandemic, a highly infectious respiratory disease, the significance of this factor is evident. Triggered by legal contact restrictions and extended reimbursement capacities, usage of telepsychotherapy increased drastically, thereby influencing therapists' attitude and increasing the technology's maturity. In this comprehensive literature review, we aim to outline the current state of research toward telepsychotherapy adoption and identify potential influences of the compulsory usage on the reevaluation of technology as well as barriers inhibiting and factors promoting future use. Methods The review was conducted on the five databases ScienceDirect, Web of Science, PubMed, PubPsych, and IEEE up to April 2022. Results Out of 685 identified references, a final selection was made of 22 papers, discussing experiences with telepsychotherapy in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Satisfaction and intention to use are universally high, further increasing with time and use experience, while perceived challenges decrease. Barriers include mostly contextual factors, such as technical issues, reimbursement issues, strict regulations, insufficient infrastructure, and lack of organizational support, but also concerns regarding efficacy. Promoting factors are training, guidelines, and organizational support. Conclusions Telepsychohtherapy has become an integral part of psychotherapeutic care. A hybrid system in close coordination between provider and patient may prevail, addressing individual needs of both parties to achieve optimal care and provider well-being. This requires transparent regulations, guidelines, and standards.

Abstract
As a consequence of the outbreak of the COVID-19 global pandemic in the spring of 2020, large-scale social distancing measures were implemented, resulting in the forced adoption of online or digital forms of psychological treatment. This sudden transition to digital care offered a unique opportunity to investigate if and how this experience impacted mental healthcare professionals' perceptions and use of Digital Mental Health tools. The current paper presents findings of a repeated cross-sectional study consisting of three iterations of a national online survey in the Netherlands. This survey contained open and closed questions on professionals' adoption readiness, frequency of use, perceived competency, and perceived value of Digital Mental Health collected in 2019 (before the pandemic), in 2020 (after the first wave), and in 2021 (after the second wave). The inclusion of data gathered prior to the COVID-19 pandemic offers a unique window to assess how professionals' adoption has developed through this transition from voluntary to mandatory use of Digital Mental Health tools. Our study also re-assesses the drivers, barriers, and needs of mental healthcare professionals after having gained experience with Digital Mental Health. In total, 1,039 practitioners completed the surveys (Survey 1: n = 432, Survey 2: n = 363, and Survey 3: n = 244). Results indicate that compared to the period before the pandemic, there was a particularly large increase in use, competency, and perceived value regarding videoconferencing. Small differences were also found for some other basic tools that were crucial to ensure the continuation of care, such as e-mail, text messaging, and online screening, but not for more innovative technologies, such as virtual reality and biofeedback. Many practitioners reported to have gained skills regarding Digital Mental Health and experienced several benefits of it. They expressed the intention to continue with a blended approach, using Digital Mental Health tools in combination with face-to-face care, focused on situations in which they found it to have specific added value, such as when clients are unable to travel. Others were less satisfied with the technology-mediated interactions and remained more reluctant to future use of DMH. Implications for broader implementation of Digital Mental Health and future research are discussed.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW To describe examples of adapting apps for use in mental healthcare and to formulate recommendations for successful adaptation in mental healthcare settings. RECENT FINDINGS International examples are given to explore implementation procedures to address this multitude of challenges. There are only few published examples of adapting apps for use in mental healthcare. From these examples and from results of studies in implementation science in general clinical settings, it can be concluded that the process of adapting apps for mental healthcare needs to address clinician training and information needs, user needs which include cultural adaptation and go beyond mere translation, and organizational needs for blending app use into everyday clinical mental healthcare workflows.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Telepsychology is increasingly being implemented in mental health care. We conducted a scoping review on the best available research evidence regarding availability, efficacy and clinical utility of telepsychology in DBT. The review was performed using PRISMA-ScR guidelines. Our aim was to help DBT-therapists make empirically supported decisions about the use of telepsychology during and after the current pandemic and to anticipate the changing digital needs of patients and clinicians. METHODS A search was conducted in PubMed, Embase, PsycARTICLES and Web of Science. Search terms for telepsychology were included and combined with search terms that relate to DBT. RESULTS Our search and selection procedures resulted in 41 articles containing information on phone consultation, smartphone applications, internet delivered skills training, videoconferencing, virtual reality and computer- or video-assisted interventions in DBT. CONCLUSIONS The majority of research about telepsychology in DBT has focused on the treatment mode of between-session contact. However, more trials using sophisticated empirical methodologies are needed. Quantitative data on the efficacy and utility of online and blended alternatives to standard (i.e. face-to-face) individual therapy, skills training and therapist consultation team were scarce. The studies that we found were designed to evaluate feasibility and usability. A permanent shift to videoconferencing or online training is therefore not warranted as long as face-to-face is an option. In all, there is an urgent need to compare standard DBT to online or blended DBT. Smartphone apps and virtual reality (VR) are experienced as an acceptable facilitator in access and implantation of DBT skills. In addition, we have to move forward on telepsychology applications by consulting our patients, younger peers and experts in adjacent fields if we want DBT to remain effective and relevant in the digital age.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Gambling Disorder is a prevalent non-substance use disorder, which contrasts with the low number of people requesting treatment. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) could help to enhance the dissemination of evidence-based treatments and considerably reduce the costs. The current study seeks to assess the efficacy of an online psychological intervention for people suffering from gambling problems in Spain. The proposed study will be a two-arm, parallel-group, randomized controlled trial. A total of 134 participants (problem and pathological gamblers) will be randomly allocated to a waiting list control group (N = 67) or an intervention group (N = 67). The intervention program includes 8 modules, and it is based on motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and extensions and innovations of CBT. It includes several complementary tools that are present throughout the entire intervention. Therapeutic support will be provided once a week through a phone call with a maximum length of 10 min. The primary outcome measure will be gambling severity and gambling-related cognitions, and secondary outcome measures will be readiness to change, and gambling self-efficacy. Other variables that will be considered are depression and anxiety symptoms, positive and negative affect, difficulties in emotion regulation strategies, impulsivity, and quality of life. Individuals will be assessed at baseline, post-treatment, and 3-, 6-, and 12-month follow-ups. During the treatment, participants will also respond to a daily Ecological Momentary Intervention (EMI) in order to evaluate urges to gamble, self-efficacy to cope with gambling urges, gambling urge frequency, and whether gambling behaviour occurs. The EMI includes immediate automatic feedback depending on the participant's responses. Treatment acceptance and satisfaction will also be assessed. The data will be analysed both per protocol and by Intention-to-treat. As far as we know, this is the first randomized controlled trial of an online psychological intervention for gambling disorder in Spain. It will expand our knowledge about treatments delivered via the Internet and contribute to improving treatment dissemination, reaching people suffering from this problem who otherwise would not receive help. Abstract
Abstract. The public health outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has hit all aspects of life as we know it. We found ourselves trying to solve several concurrent crises that have afflicted us. The European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA) launched the Psychologists’ Support Hub to share resources among its members and beyond and promote the continuing adoption of psychological science to battle the pandemic. In the greater context of evidence-based practice (EBP), the best available evidence is what we turn to for help in our decision-making on how best to address different challenges. However, there are challenges in implementing EBP when the science is limited, and we are still expected to be effective and efficient as professionals. The article outlines the need for EBP during the pandemic. Three vignettes display how that can be done while identifying obstacles and recommending ways forward in the future. The first one relates to the development of e-mental health services in Belgium following the March 2020 lockdown. The second describes addressing the needs of older adults in Croatia when it was hit by two crises simultaneously – the March 2020 lockdown and a destructive earthquake. The third looks at how targeted community-based interventions in Norway directed at social change can positively impact times of crisis. Overall, the pandemic presents a unique opportunity for professional growth for researchers, trainers, practitioners, and policymakers alike. EFPA can play a pivotal role in EBP adoption.
