Abstract
The study presents the fabrication and superior photoactivity of a ternary g-C3N4/FeVO4/AgBr heterojunction nanocomposite, synthesized via a chemical precipitation method for effective degradation of tetracycline (TC) and Victoria Blue (VB) dye under light illumination. The morphology and the crystal size of the synthesized nanocomposite were characterized by using FESEM and XRD and the calculated grain size (100.39 nm) is larger than the crystal size (48.14 nm) indicating strong interparticle bonding. The heterojunction design leverages dual S-scheme interfacial charge transfer, reducing electron-hole recombination as confirmed by optoelectronic and electrochemical techniques. The composite demonstrated superior performance, achieving 82.15% degradation of TC and 97.25% degradation of VB. The study highlights density functional theory (DFT) simulations and Mott-Schottky (MS) analysis, providing insight into the electronic structure, distribution of charge, and band alignments of the g-C3N4/FeVO4/AgBr nanocomposite. Electron spin resonance and radical scavenging experiments revealed holes and superoxide radicals as the primary species driving the degradation process. Furthermore, LC-MS analysis provided insights into the degradation pathways, confirming the conversion of TC and VB into non-toxic byproducts. The photocatalytic stability was confirmed through five consecutive cycles with minimal disruption in both performance and morphology, demonstrating its potential for wastewater treatment applications. Consequently, this study illustrates how the collaborative interplay of dual S-scheme charge migration and silver plasmonic effects enhances the efficiency of the g-C3N4/FeVO4/AgBr nanocomposite, offering a novel and highly effective solution for the degradation of complex pollutants in environmental remediation.

Abstract
Photocatalytic hydrogen (H2) evolution can effectively solve the global energy problem, in which the key factor is the synthesis of efficient photocatalytic materials. In this study, we successfully synthesized a novel photocatalyst, BiWCo/CuS/PGCN, by functionalizing porous graphitic carbon nitride (PGCN) with sandwich-type polyoxometalate Na3.5Co4[Bi2Co2W19.75O70(H2O)6]·39.5H2O (BiWCo) and introducing copper sulfide (CuS) nanoparticles as a cocatalyst. This approach was aimed at enhancing the built inner electric field between interfaces, resulting in a significant improvement in photocatalytic H2 evolution performance. This research adopts a step-by-step method to synthesize BiWCo/CuS/PGCN composites with p-n heterojunctions, which has high visible light absorption and a synergistic effect of multiple elements. PGCN with a high specific surface area contributes to the uniform distribution of active sites. In addition, the nano-CuS cocatalyst provides abundant active sites and more electron transfer pathways for photocatalysis. Therefore, the H2 production efficiency of BiWCo/CuS/PGCN is 6.3 times that of PGCN, 4.5 times that of BiWCo and 2.5 times that of BiWCo/PGCN under visible light. The H2 production rate of BiWCo/CuS/PGCN reaches 3477.58 μmol g-1 h-1. At the same time, the ternary photocatalyst shows high stability after 30 hours and 5 cycles. This work demonstrates that BiWCo/CuS/PGCN has good application prospects in H2 evolution, and provides a new strategy for the design of efficient ternary photocatalytic materials.

Abstract
Reasonable design of heterojunction photocatalysts with high-quality interfacial coupling is an effective way to improve the photocatalytic activity of semiconductors. Herein, we successfully decorated Zinc indium sulfide (ZnIn2S4, ZIS) on perovskite Lanthanum ferrite (LaFeO3, LFO) with more active sites by a pre-hydrothermal combined post-calcination method, and constructed S-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst with a unique hollow corncob-like morphology for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen production and tetracycline (TC) degradation. When the mass ratio of LFO is 35% and 15%, the ZIS/LFO photocatalyst exhibits the best hydrogen evolution rate and TC photodegradation performance, respectively. Notably, the optimum hydrogen production rate is 6 times that of pure ZIS with excellent cycling stability. The enhanced photoactivity can be explained by the hollow corncob-like morphology and the formed S-scheme heterojunction with close interface contact between ZIS and LFO, which significantly improves the spatial separation and migration efficiency of photoexcited carriers, while maintaining a high redox potential. Finally, it provides an effective support for the photocatalytic mechanism through calculation results of density functional theory. This work not only provides a novel construction strategy of photocatalysts for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution and organic pollutant degradation, but also opens up a new insight for perovskite-modified S-scheme heterojunction.

Abstract
In this work, a novel photocatalyst of ZnIn2S4/Ni(dmgH)2 was designed by a simple chemical precipitation method and used to enhance hydrogen evolution under visible light irradiation. Along with vigorous discharges of hydrogen bubbles, an optimal rate of 36.3 mmol/g/h was reached under UV-Vis light for hydrogen evolution, nearly 4.9 times of the one from pure ZnIn2S4. The heterojunction exhibits steady hydrogen evolution capability and owns a high apparent quantum efficiency (AQE) of 20.45% under the monochromatic light at 420 nm. By coupling ZnIn2S4 with Ni(dmgH)2, an extraordinary photochromic phenomenon was detected and attributed to the active Ni-S component in situ formed between the nickel and sulfur composites under light irradiation. The emerging sulfide benefits light absorption of the system and separation of photogenerated electron and hole pairs. Besides providing a promising photocatalyst for visible light hydrogen production, the present work is hoped to inspire new trends of catalytic medium designs and investigations.

Abstract
Solar energy conversion into hydrogen (H2) energy has attracted much attention. However, the low light utilization rate and fast carrier recombination of photocatalysts extremely limit the practical application of photocatalytic H2 production. In this paper, MoSe2-NiSe with abundant active sites and interfacial electronic structures as dual co-catalysts were assembled on g-C3N4 nanosheets (NSs) vis a solvothermal reaction process. MoSe2-NiSe/g-C3N4 NSs composite exhibited improved light absorption and photoelectrochemical properties. The photocatalytic H2 production rate of MoSe2-NiSe/g-C3N4 composite achieved 2379.04 μmol·h-1·g-1, which is 99.25, 1.44, and 3.67 times those of pure g-C3N4 nanosheets (23.97 μmol·h-1·g-1), MoSe2/C3N4 (1654.57 μmol·h-1·g-1), and NiSe/C3N4 (649.08 μmol·h-1·g-1), respectively. The apparent quantum efficiency (AQE) value of MoSe2-NiSe/g-C3N4 achieved 4.07 % under light at λ = 370 nm. The corresponding characterization and experiments proved that 2D ultrathin g-C3N4 NSs with a large surface area and short charge-transfer distance could facilitate light scattering and the transport of photoexcited electrons. MoSe2-NiSe, as a dual co-catalyst, showed strong electronic synergistic interaction between the interfaces, thus improving the conductivity and promoting the electron transfer process.

Abstract
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in soil have potential harm on human health. However, remediation of PAH-contaminated soils through photocatalytic technology remains a challenge. Therefore, the photocatalyst g-C3N4/α-Fe2O3 was synthesized and applied to photocatalytic degradation of fluoranthene in soil. The physicochemical properties of g-C3N4/α-Fe2O3 and various degradation parameters, such as catalyst dosage, the ratio of water/soil, and initial pH, were investigated in detail. In soil slurry reaction system (water/soil=10:1, w/w), the optimal degradation efficiency on fluoranthene was 88.7% after simulated sunlight irradiation for 12 h (contaminated soil=2 g, initial fluoranthene concentration=36 mg/kg, catalyst dosage=5%, and pH=6.8), and the photocatalytic degradation followed pseudo-first-order kinetics. The degradation efficiency of g-C3N4/α-Fe2O3 was higher compared with P25. Degradation mechanism analysis showed that •O2- and h+ are the main active species in photocatalytic degradation process of fluoranthene by g-C3N4/α-Fe2O3. Coupling g-C3N4 and α-Fe2O3 enhances the interfacial charge transport capacity via Z-scheme charge transfer route and inhibits the recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes of g-C3N4 and α-Fe2O3, then significantly improves the production of active species and photocatalytic activity. Results showed that photocatalytic treatment of soil by g-C3N4/α-Fe2O3 is an effective strategy for remediation of soils contaminated by PAHs.

Abstract
Achieving photocatalytic antibiotic degradation and bacterial inactivation with high efficiency remains a challenging mission to originate a clean environment. In this work, ultra-small NiS clusters were in-situ grew on photoactive ZnIn2S4 nanoflower supports to form a NiS/ZnIn2S4 heterojunction, in which a strong and surface-limited binding was formed between the NiS clusters and ZnIn2S4 supports. The in-situ formed NiS clusters not only appeased interfacial charge transfer resistance of the heterojunction but also eventuated a strong built-in electric field, resulting a fast electron migration from ZnIn2S4 to NiS clusters functioned as cocatalyst and active sites to boost the separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers. As a result, the optimal 2NiS/ZnIn2S4 heterojunction expressed a higher photocatalytic Escherichia inactivation activity (99.23 % for 3 h) and a raised antibiotic degradation performance, including tetracycline (60 % for 20 min), ofloxacin (62 % for 20 min), oxytetracycline (63 % for 20 min) compared to that of pure ZnIn2S4 (39.14 % for Escherichia inactivation and 44 % for tetracycline degradation). This work furnishes a great promise to develop inorganic clusters coupled photocatalysts for light-driven environmental application.

Abstract
The photocatalytic reduction of CO2 to hydrocarbons is expected to simultaneously alleviate the energy crisis and greenhouse effect. Herein, the ternary BiOCl/C/Cu2O catalysts with different mass ratios were compounded using a simple hydrothermal method, revealing better photocatalytic activity than the monomer. In the absence of sacrificial agents and photosensitizers, 25% BiOCl/C/Cu2O showed optimal photocatalytic performance. The CO and CH4 yields over 25% BiOCl/C/Cu2O reached 26.77 and 9.86 μmol g-1 h-1, which is 2.9 and 8.7 times higher than that of the pristine Cu2O, respectively. The ameliorative activity can be attributed to the construction of the Z-scheme heterostructure and carbon layer, which are conducive to the transfer and separation of photogenerated carriers. This study offers valuable references for the design and investigation of a Z-scheme heterojunction using a carbon layer as an electron transfer medium.

Abstract
The construction of excellent photocatalysts for splitting water into hydrogen is highly desirable to realize carbon neutralization. In this work, an innovative and well-designed S-scheme photocatalyst composed of ultrathin ZnIn2S4 (ZIS) nanosheets uniformly anchored on the surface of organic semiconductor PDIIM is successfully fabricated. Within the heterojunction, perylene diimide with an imidazole group (PDIIM) is strategically applied as a structure template, which plays a crucial role in optimizing the morphology, increasing the active sites of sulfur vacancies, providing the additional photothermal effect, and promoting photogenerated charge separation of the catalyst. The photocatalytic H2 generation rate of the ZIS/PDIIM heterojunction with an optimized mass ratio reaches up to 13.04 mmol/g/h, which is 2.64 times and 14.02 times higher than that of pristine ZIS and PDIIM, respectively. The outstanding photocatalytic activity is attributed to the synergistic effect of the above advantages. Importantly, the photothermal effect induced by PDIIM belonging to the perylene diimide-based derivative was discovered to accelerate photocatalytic H2 generation for the first time. This work provides valuable insight into the utilization of perylene diimide-based derivatives in the construction of multi-effect enhancement photocatalysts and their application in photothermal-assisted photocatalytic hydrogen evolution.
