Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES The effect of environmental and genetic factors on the aging process is widely acknowledged. Yet, the extent to which each factor decisively contributes to the perception of looking younger or older remains a subject of debate. This study seeks to identify the factors linked to the perceived age among Turkish women. PATIENTS AND METHODS Ten assessors scored the perceived ages of 250 female patients based on facial photographs. The study aimed to assess the impact of environmental factors and anthropometric measurements on the perception of aging. A comprehensive analysis involved conducting 9 perioral and 6 periorbital anthropometric measurements on all study participants. RESULTS Exercise ( p = .001), mild photodamage (stage 1-2) ( p = .001), consistent sunscreen use ( p = .001), the length of the palpebral fissure ( p = .043), and the height of the upper vermilion ( p = .019) demonstrated significant associations with a more youthful appearance. CONCLUSION Environmental factors, including exercise, photoprotection, sunscreen use, and anthropometric measurements such as palpebral fissure length and upper vermilion height, play a significant role in contributing to a more youthful appearance.

Abstract
BACKGROUND A long philtrum and poor perioral skin quality are stigmata of the aging face. Micro-Coring is a novel technology that allows for scarless skin removal. OBJECTIVES In this study we aimed to determine whether micro-coring can shorten the philtrum and improve perioral skin quality. METHODS A retrospective cohort study was performed on patients who underwent facelift with perioral micro-coring and age- and BMI-matched controls who underwent facelift alone. Preoperative and postoperative 3-dimensional facial imaging was performed. Standard perioral distances and percentage of change were calculated. Perioral skin quality was evaluated by blinded raters with the Scientific Assessment Scale of Skin Quality (SASSQ) and Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS). RESULTS Thirteen patients and 13 controls were included, with a mean follow-up of 8.9 months (range 3.0-21.5). Patients had significantly shorter mean philtrum length postoperatively compared to preoperatively, with an average decrease of 6.18% (±2.25%; P < .05). Controls did not experience significant changes in philtrum length (P > .05). There were no significant changes in other perioral measurements. Perioral skin elasticity and wrinkles significantly improved in patients compared to controls and patients had significantly greater GAIS scores (P < .05). CONCLUSIONS Micro-Coring can achieve perioral rejuvenation through measurable shortening of the philtrum and observable improvement in skin quality. Nonsurgical techniques continue to find new ways to achieve aesthetic goals without significant recovery or scarring and offer value to patients and clinicians. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: 3

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To evaluate the facial characteristics of edentulous older adults who underwent rehabilitation using complete dentures, and to compare them with dentate individuals. BACKGROUND Edentulism rehabilitation with complete dentures aims to restore occlusion and facial aesthetics. MATERIALS AND METHODS The study included 102 edentulous participants needing prosthodontic rehabilitation with complete dentures and 30 with a natural dentition (aged >65). The 3D facial scans were performed using an Artec optical scanner. Superficial facial landmarks were identified, and 16 parameters were calculated. Regional analysis with the superimposition of two scans was used to calculate the average distances and percentage of non-matching surfaces in the 11 regions. Paired and independent t-tests (α = .05) were used to test for group differences, as appropriate. RESULTS After rehabilitation with complete dentures, facial changes were most noticeable in the perioral region: wider rima oris, longer upper lip, wider upper vermilion, and more protruded profile. The comparison of facial regions without and with dentures showed fuller and curvier cheeks, with no direct influence of dentures. The edentulous faces with dentures appeared shorter and more retruded than those of dentate individuals. A narrower lower vermilion, retruded upper lip, and more flattened facial profile were observed in females with dentures than in their dentate peers. CONCLUSION Besides the expected positive influence of rehabilitation with complete dentures on facial appearance in the perioral region, there are some unexpected changes, such as fuller cheeks, but there is still deficiency in vertical facial dimensions and a more flattened facial profile.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Creating an appropriate treatment plan for patients with dermatochalasis requires careful investigation of the periocular region. Utilizing photographic documentation can assist physicians in conducting preoperative analysis and managing expectations regarding surgical outcomes. OBJECTIVES This study aimed to quantify the periocular characteristics of dermatochalasis patients using standardized 3D imaging and to compare age and sex-related changes in periocular features. METHODS In this cross-sectional study, we recruited 145 Caucasian patients with periocular dermatochalasis, comprising 48 men and 97 women, aged between 35 and 91 years. Standardized three-dimensional facial photographs were taken using the 3D Imaging system VECTRA M3. Linear dimensions, curve length, angle, indices, and sizes were measured and analyzed, including palpebral fissure height (PFH), palpebral fissure width (PFW), upper lid fold-palpebral margin distance (FPD), upper palpebral margin length (UPML), lower palpebral margin length (LPML), canthal tilt (CT), palpebral fissure index (PFI), upper eyelid area, and ocular surface area. RESULTS In the female group, the left-side PFH was slightly larger than the right-side PFH (P = 0.023), but the difference was less than 1mm. The corresponding PFI also showed a difference in the female group (P = 0.009). Statistically significant differences were shown in genders for specific parameters, except PFI (P = 0.251) and CT (P = 0.098). Among males, PFW (R = -0.523, p < 0.001) and LPML (R = -0.514, P = 0.264) decreased moderately with age. The correlation between UPML and age was weak (R = -0.367, P = 0.010). Similarly, among females, moderate correlations were found between age and PFW (R = -0.566, P < 0.001) and LPML (R = -0.537, P < 0.001). Additionally, PFH (R = -0.315, P = 0.002), UPML (R = -0.381, P < 0.001), and ocular surface area (R = -0.457, P < 0.001) showed weak correlations with age. CONCLUSIONS The study found that dermatochalasis usually affects both eyes simultaneously, and age is a significant factor in the morphological changes of certain periocular features regardless of sex. The PFI is not influenced by age or sex. These findings may provide useful information for surgical planning and understanding age-related changes in the periocular area. Abstract
BACKGROUND Establishing facial anthropometric reference values is essential for diagnosis of deformity, assessment of aging, and planning for aesthetic and reconstructive treatment. OBJECTIVES This study aimed to provide detailed perioral anthropometric data in relation to sex and age in Chinese persons with a standardized 3-dimensional protocol. METHODS Three-dimensional facial photographs were obtained of 60 male and 64 female healthy Chinese participants ages 20 to 35 and 50 to 65 years old, as well as 2 acromegaly patients, with the VECTRA 3D camera. A standardized evaluation was performed to locate 37 perioral landmarks and generate corresponding measurements, including 26 linear distances, 5 ratios, 2 curvatures, 4 areas, and 9 angles. Measurements of different age groups and of different genders were compared, as were measurements of healthy individuals with those of acromegaly patients. RESULTS Sex discrepancy was noted in philtrum length, width, and area, lip width, and vermilion and cutaneous upper lip area; these were larger in Chinese males than females. However, vermilion heights were similar in both genders. With age, philtrum and cutaneous upper lip height and area, lip width, and angles related to cupid's bow significantly increased, whereas vermilion height and mouth corner angles decreased, and philtrum width, vermilion areas, and lip protrusion remained unchanged. Compared to healthy Chinese patients, acromegaly patients had a larger value for most measurements. Perioral rejuvenation based on detailed 3-dimensional anthropometry showed good results. CONCLUSIONS Chinese males have wider but not thicker lips than females, and aging features thin, flattened, and wide vermilions with a lengthened philtrum in both genders. These data can serve as a reference standard for disease diagnosis, aesthetic procedures, and reconstructive lip surgeries. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: 4

Abstract
BACKGROUND The upper lip area is an important component of facial aesthetics, and aging produces an increase in the vertical height of the upper lip. Different upper lip lifting techniques are described in the literature. OBJECTIVES This systematic review aimed to assess both invasive and noninvasive upper lip lifting techniques with patient satisfaction, adverse effects, and quantitative measurements of lifting efficiency. METHODS This study was conducted per PRISMA guidelines. MEDLINE (via PubMed), EMBASE (OvidSP), and Cochrane Library database were searched from September 14, 2022, to October 12, 2022. Inclusion criteria were reporting on upper lip lift efficiency with quantitative measurements of the lifting degree. RESULTS Out of 495 studies through the search strategy, nine articles were included in the systematic review, eight for surgical procedures and one for nonsurgical. Surgical procedures seem to have better longevity than nonsurgical techniques. Reported patient satisfaction for both surgical and nonsurgical treatments was good with no severe complaints. The quantitative measures differ between researches and may be classified into two metrics: anatomy ratio computation using photographic analysis or direct height measurement with a caliper and precise parameters utilizing a three-dimensional method. CONCLUSION In general, surgical therapies seem to have a longer-lasting lifting effect on upper lip lifts with an inevitable scar, while nonsurgical techniques are minimally invasive but temporary. There was a lack of consistency in the measurements used to assess lifting efficiency. A consistent quantitative assessment can be beneficial for both clinical decision-making and high-level evidence research. Abstract
Background Facial ageing is a result of superficial wrinkling combined with changes to the underlying soft tissues and skeleton. The influence of tooth loss, as a geriatric characteristic, on facial appearance is still poorly explained. The aim was to evaluate the facial characteristics of older adults, correlate these characteristics with the dentition and make comparisons with young adults using a non-invasive 3D methodology. Methods 90 participants older than 65 years, classified into 3 subgroups (edentulous, partially edentulous, toothed) and 30 young adults were evaluated. Their faces were scanned with an optical Artec 3D-scanner. Cephalometric analyses were made using the RapidForm computer program. An independent t-test and ANOVA were used for the comparisons. Pairwise, post-hoc tests were applied with respect to the significant differences (P < 0.05). Results The faces of older adults are wider and longer because of the longer middle facial height. Older adults also have a longer upper lip, a larger nose, a smaller nasolabial angle (due to the nasal ptosis), narrower upper- and lower-lip vermilions and larger facial and lower-facial-height angles, resulting in a flat facial profile. The facial changes due to ageing are the most pronounced in the edentulous. In comparison with the toothed, they have a smaller facial height due to the smaller lower facial height, larger nasolabial angle, smaller mouth width, shorter upper lip and narrower lip vermilions. Their profile is flatter and their lips are more retruded. Conclusions The proportions of the whole face are changed in older adults and they are the most expressed when this is combined with tooth loss. Abstract
Background Total edentulousness leads to soft tissue changes causing esthetic problems. Being aware of the significant effects of different treatment approaches on facial soft tissue can help to obtain more satisfying esthetic results. Aim The current study's objective was to evaluate three-dimensional facial soft tissue changes in edentulous patients rehabilitated with a complete denture (CD) and implant-supported fixed partial denture (FPD). Material and Methods Fourteen edentulous patients, mean age of 47.6 years (42-63), were assessed before prosthetic treatments (T0), after CD (T1), and after FPD (T2). 3dMDface System (3dMD LLC) obtained the images and transferred them to 3dMD Vultus software (3dMD Vultus software Version 2.3.0.2). Nine linear, five angular, and one topographical measurement were performed for facial soft tissue analysis. For statistical analysis of facial soft tissue, ANOVA was used with a level of significance set at 5% (p <.05). Results Significant differences were observed in lower lip height (Sto-Sl) and nasolabial angle (Prn Sn Ls) with CD. There is no significant difference with the implant-supported fixed partial dentures in these measurements when compared with pretreatment. Significant differences were observed in the lower lip angle (Chr Li Chl) with the implant-supported fixed partial dentures. There is no significant difference with CD in this measurement when compared with pretreatment. According to the paired comparisons, a significant difference was observed in philtrum height (Ls-Sn) between the treatment approaches. Conclusion CD and implant-supported fixed partial dentures, both treatment approaches, cause facial soft tissue changes, which may help to improve the facial esthetic. The effects of these treatment methods on facial soft tissues are not significantly different, except the philtrum height.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The lips play a significant role in determining the aesthetic perception of a human face. However, there is little data on the perioral region morphometry of attractive males. OBJECTIVES This study investigates the morphology of the lower third of the face, including the lips and jawline, of attractive young Caucasian males. METHODS A complex semi-automatic photogrammetric analysis of faces of male photo models (n=300) of the Caucasian race, aged 18-39 years old, was performed. Linear, angular, and surface area parameters were evaluated. In addition, an Average Body Contours (ABC) image was created, providing the graphical summarization of facial size and shapes of all analyzed individuals. RESULTS The height of the lower third of the face equaled 0.35 ± 0.03 of the total facial height. The average lip width was 50.98 ± 3.74 mm. The upper vermilion height was found significantly lower than the lower vermilion height (5.9 ± 1.62 vs. 11.15 ± 1.88 mm, p<0.01). The lip obliquity angle was found to be 1.01 o ± 0.73 o. The area surface of the lower lip vermilion was considerably larger than the vermilion of the upper lip (p<0.01). CONCLUSIONS The vast amount of morphometric data, including the novel presentation method as an ABC image, on the attractive male's lower third of the face, may provide the surgeons with practical guidelines for lips surgical and nonsurgical rejuvenation procedures. It may also support the perioral region reconstruction and sex reassignment surgery in achieving satisfactory results.

Abstract
Objective: This study sought to retrospectively analyze the longevity of the subnasal lip lift procedure on the aging upper lip by determining if the amount of skin resected was maintained. Methods: Patients who underwent subnasal upper lip lift procedure of 5-mm resection with the senior author (S.W.P.) from 2006 to 2020 were identified for a total of 52 patients who met inclusion criteria. Pre- and postoperative measurements of nasal base to upper lip vermillion border and vermillion height were taken. Longevity of results were measured through percentage retention of 5-mm lift and percentage improvements of lip show. Results: The percentage retention of the 5-mm lift and percentage improvement of lip measurements were maintained over time with a slow decline. The average percentage improvement of lip show was 48.2%. Patients <5 years out from surgery had 50.1% improvement compared with 40.3% for those ≥5 years out (p = 0.569). Conclusions: The subnasal lip lift procedure shortens the vertical height of the elongated upper lip and gives increased vermillion show with predictable results.

Abstract
Perioral rejuvenation is carried out by surgical and non-surgical tools. The common procedures are laser resurfacing and volumanisation using alloplastic fillers or autogenous fat. Nonetheless, any such procedures are associated with complications. To evaluate a concise presentation of complications and safety associated with different perioral rejuvenation treatments including laser ablation, fat grafting and hyaluronic acid injections. A systematic literature review of all the relevant studies and case reports on complications and adverse reactions associated with the laser ablation, administration of fillers and fat for the rejuvenation of perioral region. Twelve articles passed the inclusion criteria (as per PRISMA guidelines) and were scrupulously analysed. Four publications evaluated complications associated with laser resurfacing, 5 were related to filler augmentation and 3 were related to fat administration. The results concluded that all three aesthetic treatments are associated with mild to moderate complications. Severe complications are rare but can arise. Clinicians should be mindful of possible complications and able to recognise adverse events so that remedies could be executed with minimal delay. Training and supervision are essential components of ensuring provision of safe aesthetic treatment, and lack of regulation is a concern.

Abstract
Background Understanding the age-related morphological changes of facial soft tissue is fundamental in achieving improved outcomes of rejuvenating procedures. Three-dimensional (3D) photogrammetry is a reliable and convenient anthropometric tool to assess facial soft tissue. Objective The aim of this study was to establish age-related facial soft tissue morphology in Korean adult females using non-invasive 3D photogrammetry. Methods One hundred and ninety-two female participants were divided into three groups based on age: the younger group (aged 20~39 years), middle group (40~59 years), and older group (60~79 years). Thirty-six landmarks were identified via 3D photogrammetric scanning (Morpheus 3D, Morpheus Co., Ltd., Seongnam, Korea). Forty-one facial dimensions were analyzed using the imaging software to find significance between the age groups. Results Smaller upper-facial volume (p=0.019) and shorter upper-facial height (p=0.034) were observed in the older group than in the younger group. In the mid-face, narrowed palpebral fissure (p<0.001) with elongated upper eyelid height (p<0.001) and widened nose (p<0.001) were observed in the older group compared with the younger group. Longer lower-facial height (p<0.001) with longer and wider philtrum (p<0.001, p=0.004, respectively), shorter lower vermilion height (p<0.001), wider mouth width (p<0.001), and smaller lower vermilion angle (p<0.001) were seen in the older group when compared with the younger group. Moreover, greater angles of nasofrontal, nasomental, and labiomental angle (p=0.015, p=0.015, p=0.080, respectively), and smaller nasofacial angle (p=0.034) were observed in the older group than in the younger group. Conclusion Our results provide clues of aging-related facial morphological characteristics in Korean female population.

Abstract
Background The lip is of important aesthetic value and highly subjected to aging. Collecting anthropometric baseline data and understanding age‐related changes of labial morphology can help with diagnosis of deformity, assessment of aging, and planning of cosmetic procedures. Many studies have focused on Caucasians, while there is a lack of anthropometric data on Chinese women. Methods A total of 169 women were enrolled in this cross‐sectional study and divided into four consecutive age groups. Linear distances, angles, and surface area data were obtained via stereophotogrammetry. Intergroup comparisons between different age groups were performed to find age‐related differences. Results Lip width significantly increased with age while philtrum width seemed to show no obvious change. Cutaneous upper and lower lip height increased, lengthening the lip in the vertical dimension. Decrease of upper vermilion height and changes in angles indicated that aging process shortened the upper vermilion and flattened the vermilion border. Surface area also showed age‐related changes. Intergroup comparison showed no statistical significance in most variables between 20s and 30s or 30s and 40s, while age‐related changes in some variables were significant between 40s and 50s. Conclusion This study provided anthropometric data of labial morphology across a wide age range. Aging process affected a variety of labial anthropometric variables. Age‐related changes accelerated after 40 among Chinese women.

Abstract
Aim The aim of this study was to quantify gender-specific facial characteristics in younger and older adults and to determine how aging and body characteristics, such as height and body-mass index (BMI), influence facial sexual dimorphism. Methods The cohort study included 90 younger adults of Caucasian origin (average age of 45 females 23.2 ± 1.9 and 45 males 23.7 ± 2.4 years) and 90 older adults (average age of 49 females 78.1 ± 8.1 and 41 males 74.5 ± 7.7 years). Three-dimensional facial scans were performed with an Artec MHT 3D scanner. The data were analyzed using the software package Rapidform®. The parameters to evaluate facial symmetry, height, width, profile, facial shape, nose, eyes and mouth characteristics were determined based on 39 facial landmarks. Student’s t-test was used to calculate the statistical differences between the genders in the younger and older adults and a multiple-linear-regression analysis was used to evaluate the impact of gender, age, body-mass index and body height. Results We found that the female faces were more symmetrical than the male faces, and this was statistically significant in the older adults. The female facial shape was more rounded and their faces were smaller, after normalizing for body size. The males had wider mouths, longer upper lips, larger noses and more prominent lower foreheads. Surprisingly, we found that all the gender-dependent characteristics were even more pronounced in the older adults. Increased facial asymmetry, decreased facial convexity, increased forehead angle, narrower vermilions and longer inter-eye distances occurred in both genders during aging. An increased BMI was associated with wider faces, more concave facial profiles and wider noses, while greater body height correlated with increased facial heights and wider mouths. Conclusion Facial sexual dimorphism was confirmed by multiple parameters in our study, while the differences between the genders were more pronounced in the older adults.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In scientific literature, numerous theories on the mechanism of facial aging can be found. The debate about facial sagging versus deflation is still ongoing. In this study, the metric changes in perioral soft tissue were demonstrated. These data can contribute to a better understanding of physical changes in the aging perioral area. METHODS Upper lip measurements were performed on cranial magnetic resonance images of 200 Caucasian subjects (100 men and 100 women). The study population was aged between 20 to 30 and 65 to 80 years. The upper lip length and soft-tissue thickness were measured on sagittal and parasagittal section. Cross-section surface area of the upper lip was measured in the sagittal section to represent volume. The data were analyzed with a t test and results were considered significant at p < 0.01. RESULTS The upper lip in the old age group differed significantly in length (19.24 percent in women and 18.24 percent in men), thickness (up to -40.55 percent in women and -32.74 percent in men), and volume (-20.89 percent in women and -17.40 percent in men). Soft-tissue thickness at the alar nasolabial fold was significantly thinner in the old age group (-25 percent in women and -25.7 percent in men) and showed significantly greater tissue loss than elsewhere in the upper lip (p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS These results suggest that the aging perioral area is affected with a combination of soft-tissue lengthening, thinning, and volume loss. The clinical implications of this study on perioral rejuvenating strategies will be explained in part II.

Abstract
PURPOSE Anthropometric data can provide valuable support for the attending physician in planning surgical and nonsurgical esthetic procedures with regard to a patient's age. The purpose of the present study was to identify age-related orolabial changes in younger and older Caucasian women. MATERIALS AND METHODS In the present cross-sectional study, anthropometric landmarks were identified using indirect anthropometry (2-dimensional photometry) in younger (≤35 yr) and older (≥50 yr) Caucasian women to analyze age-related parameters and proportions of the orolabial region, especially of the lower and upper lip vermilion areas. The Mann-Whitney U test was applied to compare the results between the younger and older populations. RESULTS The study population consisted of 45 women. The cohort was divided into a younger population (24 participants; mean age, 27.4 yr) and an older population (21 participants; mean age, 58 yr) to evaluate age-related differences. Increases of upper lip height, cutaneous height of the upper lip, and cutaneous height of the lower lip were observed in older women. In contrast, the vermilion height of the lower lip decreased significantly with increasing age. CONCLUSION These results show changes of the orolabial region occur in Caucasian women with increasing age. The statistically relevant decrease of the vermilion height of the lower lip should be given particular attention for (age-appropriate) diagnostic, esthetic, and prosthetic treatment planning.

Abstract
Background To adequately perform rehabilitation of edentulous patients by a complete removable dental prosthesis (CRDP) is from basic interest to dentists to understand the morphologic changes caused by re-establishment of a physiologic jaw relationship. Anthropometric analyses of standardized frontal view and profile photographs may help elucidate such changes. Material and Methods Photographs of 31 edentulous patients were compared in relaxed lip closure and after insertion of a CRDP in stable occlusion. 2232 anthropometric distances were raised. Eighteen anthropometric indices reflecting the perioral morphology and its integration in the vertical facial harmony were investigated. Results The intercanthal – mouth width index (p<.001), medial - lateral cutaneous upper lip height index (p=.007), lower vermilion contour index (p=.022), vermilion - total upper lip height index (p=.018), cutaneous - total upper lip height index (p=.023), upper lip - nose height index (p=.001), nose - upper face height index (p=.002), chin - mandible height index (p=.013), upper lip - mandible height index (p=.045), nose - lower face height index (p=.018), and nose - face height index (p=.029) showed significant pre- to post-treatment changes. Conclusions The investigated anthropometric indices presented reproducible results related to an increase in occlusal vertical dimension. Abstract
BACKGROUND Patients often seek help to redress aging that affects various regions of the face (subunits). The purpose of this study was to determine how aging of different facial subunits impacts perception of age, attractiveness, and tiredness. METHOD Frontal and lateral view facial photographs of a middle-aged woman were modified using imaging software to independently age different facial features. Sixty-six subjects were administered with a questionnaire, and presented with a baseline unmodified picture and others containing different individual or grouped aging of facial subunits. Test subjects were asked to estimate the age of the subject in the image and quantify (0-10 scale) how "tired" and "attractive" they appeared. Facial subunits were organized following rank assignment regarding impact on perception of age, attractiveness, and tiredness. RESULTS The correlation coefficient between age and attractiveness had a strong inverse relationship of approximately -0.95 in both lateral and frontal views. From most to least impact in age, the rank assignment for frontal view facial subunits was full facial aging, middle third, lower third, upper third, vertical lip rhytides, horizontal forehead rhytides, jowls, upper eyelid ptosis, loss of malar volume, lower lid fat herniation, deepening glabellar furrows, and deepening nasolabial folds. From most to least impact in age, the rank assignment for lateral view facial subunits was severe neck ptosis, jowls, moderate neck ptosis, vertical lip rhytides, crow's feet, lower lid fat herniation, loss of malar volume, and elongated earlobe. CONCLUSION This study provides a preliminary template for further research to determine which anatomical subunit will have the most substantial effect on an aged appearance, as well as on the perception of tiredness and attractiveness. Abstract
We sought to generate data to facilitate forensic facial comparisons. Specifically, we conducted a longitudinal study of alterations in face shape induced by aging. We obtained two three-dimensional facial shape measurements in 171 Japanese males at intervals of approximately 10 years. With this data, we created a homologous model consisting of 10,741 data points for each face based on 33 anatomical landmarks. We averaged the movements of corresponding data points between the two homologous models for each individual and used this data to predict up to 30 years of face aging in an average Japanese male. We clearly identified aging-induced shape changes, such as drooping and denting of the facial folds, drooping of the upper lip, and projection of the lower eyelid, in the virtually aged model. A quantitative comparison of aging-induced shape alterations among three age groups (individuals in their 20's, 30's, and 40-50's) showed that these alterations accelerated more quickly as age increased. Using our predictive model, we conducted a preliminary study focused on facial shape alterations induced by reductions in body weight. Our findings indicated that our proposed method would also be valid for this purpose.
