Abstract
Norepinephrine (NE) is the primary catecholamine (CA) of interest in the medical field, as it plays a key role in regulating the hormonal and neurological systems. Some NE concentration dysfunction can lead to a number of serious physical conditions. As a result, quick and sensitive NE detection is most critical in medical technology. Thus, in this research, a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was used to create an electrochemical sensor for the selective detection of NE. Prior to this, functional monomers were chosen through molecular modeling utilizing molecular mechanics and quantum mechanics computations. According to these studies, the 3-aminophenylboronic acid (3-APBA) functional monomer produces the most stable complex with NE in molecular modeling calculations. Based on this, by electropolymerizing 3-APBA in the presence of the template molecule NE, an imprinting polymer film is formed on the screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) surface. Stepwise fabrication of imprinted polymer films was examined through differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), cyclic voltammetry (CV), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The performance of the electrochemical NE sensor removal and rebinding levels of the template was studied and optimized. The selectivity for NE was confirmed by using interference studies of small molecules like dopamine, tyrosine, and serotonin. Under optimum levels, the fabricated MIP sensor had a broad linear range over NE concentrations of 0.1 pM-5 pM; sensitivity: 0.004 mA pM-1; limit of detection: 0.03 pM. It is noteworthy that the newly created MIP sensor was effectively validated for NE detection in plasma samples.

Abstract
This article presents advances in the electrochemical determination of hormones and steroids since 2000. A wide spectrum of techniques and working electrodes have been involved in the reported measurements in order to obtain the lowest possible limits of detection. The voltammetric and polarographic techniques, due to their sensitivity and easiness, could be used as alternatives to other, more complicated, analytical assays. Still, growing interest in designing a new construction of the working electrodes enables us to prepare new measurement procedures and obtain lower limits of detection. A brief description of the measured compounds has been presented, along with a comparison of the obtained results.

Abstract
Based on incorporating ZnCrFeO4 into multi-walled carbon nanotubes paste matrix (MWCNTs/ZnCrFeO4/CPE), a chemically modified electrode was prepared for the simultaneous determination of ascorbic acid (AA), acetaminophen (AC) and codeine (CO). The prepared electrode, MWCNTs/ZnCrFeO4/CPE, was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The MWCNTs/ZnCrFeO4/CPE showed an efficient electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of AA, AC, and CO. The separations of the oxidation peak potentials for AA-AC and AC-CO were about 250mV and 630mV, respectively. The calibration curves obtained for AA, AC, and CO were in the ranges of 0.4-730.0μmolL(-1), 0.1-368.0μmolL(-1), and 0.3-250.0μmolL(-1), respectively. The detection limits (S/N=3) were 0.03μmolL(-1), 0.009μmolL(-1), and 0.01μmolL(-1) for AA, AC, and CO, respectively. The method was also successfully employed as a selective, simple, and precise method to determinate AA, AC, and CO in pharmaceutical and biological samples.

Abstract
Polypyrrole (PPy) was synthesized by enzyme mediated oxidation of pyrrole using naturally occurring compounds as redox mediators. The catalytic mechanism is an enzymatic cascade reaction in which hydrogen peroxide is the oxidizer and soybean peroxidase, in the presence of acetosyringone, syringaldehyde or vanillin, acts as a natural catalysts. The effect of the initial reaction composition on the polymerization yield and electrical conductivity of PPy was analyzed. Morphology of the PPy particles was studied by scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy whereas the chemical structure was studied by X-ray photoelectron and Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopic techniques. The redox mediators increased the polymerization yield without a significant modification of the electronic structure of PPy. The highest conductivity of PPy was reached when chondroitin sulfate was used simultaneously as dopant and template during pyrrole polymerization. Electroactive properties of PPy obtained from natural precursors were successfully used in the amperometric quantification of uric acid concentrations. PPy increases the amperometric sensitivity of carbon nanotube screen-printed electrodes toward uric acid detection.

Abstract
An electrochemical sensor was prepared by modifying a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) with a composite of yttrium (III) oxide nanoparticles (Y2O3NPs) and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) for the determination of acetaminophen (ACT). Compared with a bare GCE and CNTs/GCE, the Y2O3NPs/CNTs/GCE exhibited a well-defined redox couple for ACT and highly enhanced the current response. The separations in the anodic and cathodic peak potentials (ΔEp) for ACT were 552mV, 24mV and 10mV at ba4re GCE, CNTs/GCE and Y2O3NPs/CNTs/GCE, respectively. The observation of only 10mV of ΔEp for ACT at Y2O3NPs/CNTs/GCE was a clear indication of a great acceleration of the electrode process compared to bare GCE and GCE modified with CNTs. Also, l-ascorbic acid (l-AA) and l-tyrosine (l-TRY) did not interfere with the selective determination of ACT. Square wave voltammetry (SWV) was performed for the quantification of ACT. A linear plot was obtained for current responses versus the concentrations of ACT over the range from 1.0×10(-10) to 1.8×10(-8)M with a detection limit of 3.0×10(-11)M (based on 3Sb/m). The proposed composite material provided high electrocatalytic activity, improved voltammetric behavior, good selectivity and good reproducibility. The accurate quantification of ACT makes the proposed electrode of great interest for the public health.

Interaction of C60 fullerene complexed to doxorubicin with model bilipid membranes and its uptake by HeLa cells. MATERIALS SCIENCE & ENGINEERING. Abstract
With an aim to elucidate the effects of C60 fullerene complexed with antibiotic doxorubicin (Dox) on model bilipid membranes (BLM), the investigation of the electrical properties of BLM under the action of Dox and C60 fullerene, and of their complex, C60+Dox,was performed. The complex as well as its components exert a clearly detectable influence on BLM, which is concentration-dependent and also depends on phospholipid composition. The mechanism of this effect originates either from intermolecular interaction of the drug with fatty-acid residues of phospholipids, or from membranotropic effects of the drug-induced lipid peroxidation, or from the sum of these two effects. By fluorescence microscopy the entering of C60 + Dox complex into HeLa cells was directly shown.

Abstract
A novel method is developed for the quantification of furosemide in biological fluids. The method is based on the electro-reduction of Zn(II)-furosemide complex at carboxyl-MWCNT modified glassy carbon electrode. It is shown that, in Britton-Robinson buffer (pH5.7) the reduction peak of Zn(II)-furosemide complex formed at -1.0 V (versus, Ag/AgCl). The increment of current signal obtained from the reduction peak current of the Zn(II)-furosemide complex was rectilinear with furosemide concentration in the range of 0.03 to 140.0 μg ml(-1), with a detection limit of 0.007 μg ml(-1). The drug recovery ranged between 97.8% and 100.8% and the mean drug recovery was 98.89%. The accuracies (relative error% and RSD%) were less than 15% and are acceptable according to the US FDA guideline for bioanalytical method validation. The sensor was used for quantification of furosemide in drug and biological fluid samples. The data of drug analysis were compared with the standard method.
