Exploring sustainable healthcare: Innovations in health economics, social policy, and management

The healthcare sector faces several challenges, such as rising costs, rising demand, and the need for sustainability. A new area of healthcare has emerged due to these problems, focusing on long-term improvements in management, social policy, and health economics. This research explores the cutting edge of healthcare, concentrating on long-term advancements in management, social policy, and health economics. To better understand the problems affecting the healthcare sector and to pinpoint the areas where sustainable solutions are most required, a survey of 2000 healthcare professionals and policymakers was performed. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM), and a thorough sustainable healthcare model was created. According to the survey's findings, the healthcare sector now faces three significant challenges: growing prices, increased demand, and the need for sustainability. According to the respondents, the three main areas where sustainable innovations are most required are management, social policy, and health economics. These conclusions were supported by the (SEM) analysis, which also showed that sustainable practices in these fields significantly impact the sustainability of the healthcare system. These findings lead this research to conclude that to guarantee the accessibility and affordability of healthcare for everyone, a move towards sustainable practices in health economics, social policy, and management is needed. Cooperation between healthcare providers, policymakers, and other stakeholders is required to create creative solutions that support sustainability in the healthcare sector. This study offers a thorough framework for sustainable healthcare that may act as a guide for further research and the formulation of new regulations.

Time-varying impacts of green credit on carbon productivity in China: New evidence from a non-parametric panel data model

In the context of global climate change threatening human survival, and in a post-pandemic era that advocates for a global green and low-carbon economic recovery, conducting an in-depth analysis to assess whether green finance can effectively support low-carbon economic development from a dynamic perspective is crucial. Unlike existing research, which focuses solely on the average effects of green credit (GC) on carbon productivity (CP), we introduce a non-parametric panel data model to investigate GC's impact on CP across 30 provinces in China from 2003 to 2021, verifying a significant time-varying effect. Specifically, during the first phase (2003-2008), GC negatively impacted CP. In the second phase (2009-2014), this negative influence gradually diminished and transformed into a positive effect. In the third phase (2015-2021), GC continued to positively influence CP, although this effect became insignificant during the pandemic. Further subgroup analysis reveals that in the regions with low environmental regulations, GC did not significantly boost CP throughout the sample period. In contrast, in the regions with high environmental regulations, GC's positive effect persisted in the mid to late stages of the sample period. Additionally, compared to the regions with low levels of marketization, the impact of GC on CP was more pronounced in highly marketized regions. This indicates that the promoting effect of GC on CP depends on strong support from environmental regulations and well-functioning market mechanisms. By adopting a non-parametric approach, this study reveals variations in the impact of GC on CP across different stages and under the influence of the pandemic shock, offering new insights into the relationship between GC and China's CP.

Practical effects of carbon emissions trading system on energy efficiency

The carbon emissions trading system (CETS) is a helpful policy instrument for separating carbon emissions from economic expansion, and it significantly impacts energy efficiency (EE). This study uses 30 Chinese provinces from 2007 to 2020 as its research samples, and classifies energy efficiency into single-factor energy efficiency (SFE) and total-factor energy efficiency (TFE), using the difference-in-differences model to examine the effect and mechanism of the CETS on EE. As an additional tool to assess the efficacy of the CETS, the corresponding evolution of the rebound effect of energy-related carbon emissions (RECE) is also calculated. This study shows that the CETS can significantly improve EE in China's pilot provinces. The influence mechanism indicates that the effect of the CETS on EE is influenced by the level of government governance, green innovation, and industrial structure optimization. Further study finds that after the CETS was carried out, the RECE in pilot provinces was higher than that in non-pilot provinces, and 31.4% of carbon emissions reduced by EE improvement rebounded. Therefore, the CETS has yet to realize its full carbon reduction potential. The study offers specific policy proposals for the enhancement of China's CETS in light of the aforementioned findings.

Moderating effect of urban endowment factors on environmental regulations-productivity relationship in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region

In this paper, six major cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region of China are classified into two groups, namely core city (Beijing) and industrial cities. The objective is to analyze the moderating effect of urban endowments in different urban contexts on the environmental regulation-productivity relationship using an econometric model. The results are: As environmental regulation intensifies, production in Beijing's high-polluting industries rises after falling, showing "innovation compensation" and "inefficient exit" effects. In contrast, the high-polluting industries in the industrial cities exhibit a "compliance cost" effect. In Beijing, four urban endowment factors, including economic development, technological innovation, human capital, and government intervention, can provide supportive conditions for business development under environmental regulatory pressure, primarily by reducing the "compliance cost" effect and enhancing the "innovation compensation" effect. In industrial cities, on the other hand, urban endowment factors have not had a positive moderating effect, and government intervention has even had a negative effect. We argue that government intervention may be the more fundamental urban endowment factor, which may affect the moderating outcomes of other endowment factors. Based on these findings, we propose that governments should make greater use of guiding and incentive-based environmental policy instruments, while reducing administrative interventions. Appropriate policy instruments can activate the positive moderating role of urban endowments and thus provide a better supportive environment for firms' technological innovation.

Moderating role of green innovation and fiscal expenditure towards achieving the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 at provincial-level in China: policy implication from green total factor productivity

Amidst resource loss and environmental protection constraints, achieving green development necessitates enhancing green total factor productivity (GTFP) as a means of promoting rational and efficient resource allocation, thereby balancing economic growth and environmental preservation. Meanwhile, literature on the subject matter of GTFP from a sustainability viewpoint is minimal. As a result, this study employs the panel dataset from 30 provinces of China spanning the period 2005 to 2020 and utilizes the method of moments quantile regression (MMQR) developed by Machado and Santos Silva (2019) to analyze the heterogeneous role of green innovation, environmental regulations, and fiscal expenditure on GTFP. Moreover, the controlling variable for this study includes renewable energy and economic growth. Furthermore, this study investigates the heterogeneous combined impact of green innovation and fiscal expenditure (GTE*FSE) on GTFP. The findings of the MMQR reveal that green innovation has a positive impact on GTFP, while fiscal expenditure, environmental regulations, and renewable energy consumption have a negative impact. GTE*FSE has a positive and significant effect on GTFP, indicating that FSE can reinforce and increase the positive impact of GTE on GTFP in the long run. The study also reveals that economic growth has a mixed effect on GTFP, depending on the quantiles. Furthermore, environmental regulation has a significant and negative impact on GTFP, contradicting the Porter hypothesis. Likewise, the robustness of the findings is confirmed by the results of the fully modified OLS (FMOLS) and dynamic OLS (DOLS) estimations, which indicate a similar impact of the determinants on GTFP as observed in the MMQR analysis. This reinforces the validity of the findings and suggests that the observed relationships are robust to different estimation techniques. Furthermore, the findings of the Dumitrescu and Hurlin (D-H) panel causality test reveal significant bidirectional causality between renewable energy consumption and GTFP and fiscal expenditure and GTFP. Policy-makers need to channel a large chuck of their fiscal spending into green innovation so as to boost sustainability.

Exceptional and long-time economic development: CO2 emission reduction and adoption of green marketing in China

This study aims to boost green bond China's adoption of green marketing; the current research focuses on green defaults as demand-side strategies. This paper panel data collected from 2002 to 2021 used econometric methods. Purposive sampling was used to collect information from respondents. The empirical findings show that the link between income and Green Business Initiatives (GBI) increases emissions of carbon dioxide. Moreover, trade openness raises carbon dioxide emission, but human capital reduces them. This article also makes some predictions about how monetary policies will affect the economy. A policy of open market operations in which the government discounts less for second-hand debt, lowering the market value of money, credit, and interest rates. Results (2) show that the descriptive statistics for the dependent and independent variables of the global market's first-layer model. Green bonds are priced 0.12% more in ask yield than its conventional counterparts on average. The 0.09% point mean of GBI demonstrates that the bid-ask yields of green bonds are somewhat lower on average than those of conventional bonds. The econometric findings of robustness checks reveal that GDP volatility is low and growth rates are higher in economies with GB marketing. Excellent and long-term financial development, as well as strong gross fixed capital formation, are hallmarks China region, which indicate higher levels of economic investment than their control counterparts.

Has green finance reform promoted green growth in Chinese industry?

Due to their ability to generate green industrial growth, green finance policies are important both in the greening of China's industries and in the promoting of further improvements to its financial system. In this paper, reform pilot zones are used as a quasi-natural experiment with select panel data from 2007 to 2019 taken from 30 provinces in China, and used the DID method to empirically measure the impact of green finance reform on industrial GTFP and its mechanism of action. The findings demonstrate that reforming green finance greatly enhances GTFP of industry during the review period. This result is still valid after carrying out robustness tests. The heterogeneity study finds that the policy plays a large part in fostering GTFP in the middle stage of industrialization but not in the late stage. Further analyses of its transmission mechanism demonstrate that green finance reform mostly fosters industrial green growth through an innovation effect and a structural effect.
