Abstract
This paper reports the development of a novel probe based on magnetic room-temperature phosphorescence quantum dots with molecularly imprinted polymers (MQD-MIPs) for the rapid detection of trace norfloxacin (NFX) residual in complex food matrix. The highly selective probe was constructed by surface molecular imprinting technology using magnetic materials (Fe3O4 nanoparticles) as core, Mn-doped ZnS quantum dots (Mn-ZnS QDs) as phosphorescent materials, NFX as template, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane as functional monomer, and tetraethoxysilane as crosslinking agent. The as-obtained MQD-MIPs were characterized in detail by transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, and vibrating sample magnetometer. A magnetic strength of 37.64 emu g-1 was recorded. Also, the probe displayed excellent room temperature phosphorescence properties with excitation/emission peaks at 300/590 nm. Under the optimized conditions, the detection time was less than 40 min, phosphorescence intensity varied linearly with concentration from 1 to 90 μg·L-1, and detection limit reached as low as 0.80 μg·L-1. Furthermore, the MQD-MIPs-based probe successfully detected norfloxacin residues in spiked fish and milk samples with recoveries of 90.92-111.53% and RSD <7%, outperforming the standard control method-HPLC-FLD (recoveries of 85.89-118.28%).

Abstract
The authors describe a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) that enables detection of 2-butoxyethanol (2BE), a pollutant associated with hydraulic fracturing contamination. Detection is based on a combination of a colloidal crystal templating and a molecular imprinting. The MIPs are shown to display higher binding capacity for 2BE compared to non-imprinted films (NIPs), with imprinting efficiencies of ∼ 2. The tests rely on the optical effects that are displayed by the uniformly ordered porous structure of the material. The reflectance spectra of the polymer films have characteristic Bragg peaks whose location varies with the concentration of 2BE. Peaks undergo longwave red shifts up to 50 nm on exposure of the MIP to 2BE in concentrations in the range from 1 ppb to 100 ppm. This allows for quantitative estimates of the 2BE concentrations present in aqueous solutions. The material is intended for use in the early detection of contamination at hydraulic fracturing sites. Abstract
Quantum-dot (QD)-labeled hydrophilic molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) microparticles were prepared for direct and highly selective optosensing of an antibiotic drug (i.e., tetracycline (Tc)) in pure bovine/goat milks and bovine/porcine serums. "Living" CdTe QD-SiO2 composite microparticles with alkyl bromide groups on their surfaces were first obtained via the one-pot sol-gel reaction, and they were subsequently grafted with a Tc-imprinted polymer layer and poly(glyceryl monomethacrylate) brushes via the successive surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerizations. The resulting MIP microparticles with QD labeling and hydrophilic polymer brushes could function properly in biological samples and showed obvious template-binding-induced fluorescence quenching, which make them a useful fluorescent chemosensor with limits of detection down to 0.14 μM in complex biological media. Moreover, a facile and effective approach was developed based on a newly derived equation to eliminate the false positives of the fluorescent chemosensor and provide it with wider linear detection concentration ranges in comparison with those obtained using the generally adopted Stern-Volmer equation. Furthermore, the fluorescent MIP chemosensor was also successfully applied for directly, sensitively, selectively, and accurately quantifying Tc in biological media, and the average recoveries were in the range of 95%∼105% even when several other drugs and the fluorescently interfering chlortetracycline were present in the samples.

Abstract
A novel method for fabricating hypercrosslinked magnetic polymer beads with improved acid resistance was developed. Magnetite nanoparticles were covered with tetraethoxysilane and vinyltriethoxysilane, followed by co-polymerization and post-crosslinking. The resulting M150 beads were highly stable at pH ≥ 2 and were superparamagnetic, with a saturation magnetization of 3.1 emu/g. M150 exhibited a specific surface area of 1022.4m(2)/g and an average pore width of 2.6 nm. The adsorption of p-nitrophenol and chlorotetracycline (CTC) onto M150 and the commercial non-magnetic resins NDA 150 and XAD-4 followed both pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order equations. M150 displayed much faster kinetics than the other resins because of its small particle size and abundant macropores. The adsorption isotherm of p-nitrophenol onto the three resins fitted the Freundlich equation (R(2)>0.98), whereas CTC adsorption was better described by the Langmuir isotherm. p-Nitrophenol adsorption was optimal at pH ≤ 4, whereas CTC adsorption was optimal at pH 5-6. All three sorbents showed high reusability for p-nitrophenol adsorption. XAD-4 demonstrated the highest reusability for CTC. The CTC adsorption capacities of M150 and NDA150 decreased by 12.42% and 20% after 10 adsorption-desorption cycles, respectively.

Abstract
Cysteamine-modified silver nanoparticle aggregates has been fabricated for pentachlorophenol (PCP) sensing by surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) using a portable Raman spectrometer. The cysteamine monolayers could preconcentrate PCP close to the substrate surface through the electrostatic interaction, which makes the SERS detection of PCP possible. Moreover, the Raman bands of cysteamine could be used as the internal spectral reference in the quantitative analysis. Qualitative detection of PCP was carried out by SERS without any sample pretreatment. Quantitative analysis of PCP was further realized based on the prepared substrate, as the log-log plot of normalized SERS intensity of PCP versus its concentrations exhibits a good linear relationship. The SERS signals collected on 20 randomly selected points show that the relative standard deviation of the normalized Raman intensity is 5.8%, which indicates the substrate had good uniformity. The PCP sensor also shows good long-term stability in the analyte solution. The substrate was cyclic immersed into PCP and methanol solution; after several cycles, the sensor still had good adsorption to PCP, which revealed the sensor has good reusability. Coupling with a portable Raman spectrometer, the cysteamine-modified silver nanoparticle aggregates have the potential to be used for in situ and routine SERS analysis of PCP in environmental samples.
