Abstract
Herein, for the first time, we reported the synthesis of a novel Z-scheme CoxNi1-xTiO3/CdS (x = 0.5) heterojunction photocatalyst and the investigation of its visible-light-driven photocatalytic performance toward degradation of methylene blue (MB). The developed photocatalyst was structurally characterized by applying X-Ray diffraction analysis (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), differential reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), and photoluminescence (PL) techniques. The results indicated the formation of a highly porous structure with improved visible light adsorption capacity, favorable for the catalytic activity. At an optimum condition of 10 mg/L of MB and 300 mg/L of catalyst, the ternary photocatalyst demonstrated a MB removal efficiency of 99 % after 75 min of the treatment process. The radical trapping experiments unveiled that hydroxyl and superoxide radicals were two main reactive species formed under visible light, while the valance holes possessed an insignificant role. The synergetic impact of the CoxNi1-xTiO3 (x = 0.5) and CdS on the photodegradation of MB over the as-prepared CoxNi1-xTiO3/CdS (x = 0.5) photocatalyst through Z-scheme photocatalysis was indicated by the results of the mechanism studies. The percentage impact of the treatment time, MB concentration, the ratio of CoxNi1-xTiO3/CdS (x = 0.5), and the dosage of catalyst using analysis of the CCD modeling was obtained as 47.04, 16.67, 7.22 and 0.87 %, respectively. Furthermore, the as-synthesized photocatalyst possessed high recyclability and photostability with only a 3 % decline in activity after four repetitive cycles.

Abstract
Dimethoate (DIM) as an organophosphorus pesticide is widely utilized especially in the cultivation of vegetables and fruits due to its killing effect on harmful insects. However, unconscious use of DIM in large amounts can also cause serious health problems. For these reasons, rapid and reliable detection of DIM from food samples is significant. In this study, a novel quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensor based on erbium molybdate incorporating sulfur-doped graphitic carbon nitride (EM/S-g-C3N4) and a molecularly imprinting polymer (MIP) was designed for DIM detection in apple juice samples. Firstly, an EM/S-g-C3N4 nanocomposite with high purity was prepared under hydrothermal conditions at high temperatures over a long period of time. After the modification of the EM/S-g-C3N4 nanocomposite on a QCM chip, the polymerization solution including N,N'-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as an initiator, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as a cross-linker, methacryloylamidoglutamic acid (MAGA) as a monomer, and DIM as an analyte was prepared. Then, the polymerization solution was dropped on an EM/S-g-C3N4 nanocomposite modified QCM chip and an ultraviolet polymerization process was applied for the formation of the DIM-imprinted polymers on the EM/S-g-C3N4 nanocomposite modified QCM chip. After the polymerization treatment, some characterization studies, including electrochemical, microscopic, and spectroscopic methods, were performed to illuminate the surface properties of the nanocomposite and the prepared QCM sensor. The values of the limit of quantification (LOQ) and the detection limit (LOD) of the prepared QCM sensor were as 1.0 × 10-9 M and 3.3 × 10-10 M, respectively. In addition, high selectivity, stability, reproducibility, and repeatability of the developed sensor was observed, providing highly reliable analysis results. Finally, thanks to the prepared sensor, it may be possible to detect pesticides from different food and environmental samples in the future.

Abstract
Photocatalytic conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2) into high value-added chemicals is an attractive yet challenging process, primarily due to the readily recombination of hole-electron pairs in photocatalysts. Herein, dual-oxygen-vacancy mediated Z-scheme Bi2Sn2O7/Sn/NiAl-layered double hydroxide (VO,O-20BSL) heterojunctions were hydrothermally synthesized and subsequently modified with Sn monomers to enhance photocatalytic activity toward CO2 reduction. The abundance of oxygen vacancies endowed the VO,O-20BSL with extended optical adsorption, enhanced charges separation, and superior CO2 adsorption and activation. The interfacial charges transfer of the VO,O-20BSL was demonstrated to follow a Z-scheme mechanism via photochemical deposition of metal/metal oxide. Under visible light irradiation, the VO,O-20BSL exhibited the highest yields of carbon monoxide (CO) and methane (CH4), with values of 72.03 and 0.85 umol·g-1·h-1, respectively, which were 2.66 and 1.57 times higher than that of the VO-NiAl-layered double hydroxide (VO-1LDH). In situ diffuse reflectance infrared fourier transform spectroscopy (DRIFTS) revealed that carboxylic acid groups (COOH*) and aldehyde groups (CHO*) were the predominant intermediates during CO2 reduction, and accordingly, possible CO2 reduction pathways and mechanism were proposed. This study presents a feasible approach to incorporate dual vacancies into Z-scheme heterojunctions for CO2 reduction.

Strategies for promoting the degradation of phenol by electro-Fenton: Simultaneously promoting the generation and utilization of H 2O 2. ENVIRONMENTAL RESEARCH 2023; 236:116794. Abstract
The use of the electro-Fenton process to continuously generate H2O2 and efficiently degrade organic pollutants is considered a promising technology. The ratio of generation of H2O2 is usually regarded as the critical step; however, how the H2O2 is utilized is also of particular importance. Herein, activated carbon was activated at different temperatures and used to explore the effect of nitrogen doping on the production and utilization of H2O2 in the electro-Fenton-based degradation of organic pollutants. The experimental results indicate that nitrogen-doped activated carbon simultaneously promotes the generation and utilization of H2O2, which is attributed to the regulation of the competition between phenol and O2 adsorption by the doped nitrogen. Nitrogen doping not only improves 2e-ORR selectivity but also aggregates phenol near the cathode to balance the concentrations of phenol and ·OH. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations further confirmed that pyrrole-N as a dopant promoted the adsorption of phenol, while pyridine-N was more favorable for O2 adsorption. The unique balance of nitrogen types possessed by modified activated carbon NAC-750 permits the efficient synergistic generation and utilization of H2O2 in a balanced manner during the degradation of phenol. This work provides a new direction for the rational nitrogen-doping modification of activated carbon for the electro-Fenton-based degradation of organic pollutants.

Abstract
This study presents the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) by photo Fenton-like (PF-like) process under visible light irradiation (λ > 380 nm) using cobalt phosphate microparticles (CoP-MPs). The effects of the initial concentration of RhB, pH value, CoP-MPs dosage, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) concentration, and salts found in textile wastewater (such as NaNO3, Na2SO4, and NaCl) were investigated in detail. It was found that CoP-MPs can maintain high catalytic activity with wide pH values varying from 4 to 8. This indicated that the use of CoP-MPs overcame the low efficiency of Fenton-like reaction at neutral and even weakly alkaline pH. The PF-like degradation of RhB followed pseudo-first order kinetics in various conditions. Moreover, a comparison of experimental results showed that the PF-like system has good degradation ability for RhB and methyl blue (MB) solution, but is poor for methyl orange (MO) solution. The repeat experiments indicated that the chemical structures of CoP-MPs were stable. Furthermore, the Co2+ ions leaching to the solutions were measured by an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS). Analysis of UV-vis spectra suggested that RhB was degraded by the formation of a series of N-de-ethylated intermediates followed by cleavage of the whole conjugate chromophore structure.HighlightsRhB can be effectively degraded in the PF-like process under visible light irradiation by CoP-MPs.The PF-like process can maintain high catalytic activity at neutral and even weakly alkaline pH.Degradation kinetics exhibited pseudo-first-order kinetics and were influenced by the key parameters. The variation in the UV-vis spectra of RhB was analyzed in detail to infer a possible degradation pathway.

Abstract
Exploiting efficient and stable photocatalysts is the primary goal of photocatalytic water splitting for H2 production. In this work, a sea urchin-like bimetallic NiCo2O4-decorated ZnIn2S4 heterojunction was fabricated via a solvent evaporation method. Investigation shows that the introduction NiCo2O4 can expand the UV-vis absorption range, enhance the absorption intensity, promote the charge separation, decrease the charge transfer resistance, induce more active sites, and decrease the H2 evolution overpotential of the composite. Besides, the charge transfer between NiCo2O4 and ZnIn2S4 follows a Z-scheme route based on the ˙OH radical capture experiments; this can preserve the strong oxidation-reduction reaction ability of photogenerated electrons and holes, leading to a faster H2 evolution rate, which reaches 17.28 mmol g-1 h-1 over the 4.8%-NiCo2O4/ZnIn2S4 composite under 300 W Xe lamp irradiation in 20 vol% triethanolamine (TEOA) solution and is 3.0 times higher than that of ZnIn2S4. In addition, NiCo2O4/ZnIn2S4 also has excellent stability during 5 consecutive cycles. This work provides an effective method for constructing a highly effective Z-scheme heterojunction system for photocatalytic H2 production.

Abstract
Throughout extensive research endeavors, SrTiO3 has emerged as a promising photocatalytic material for utilizing solar energy and facilitating hydrogen production via water splitting. Yet, the pursuit of enhanced efficiency and amplified hydrogen generation has prompted researchers to delve into the realm of advanced doping strategies. In this work, using experimental characteristics and DFT calculations, we studied the effect of cobalt substitution on the structural, electronic, optical, and magnetic properties as well as the photocatalytic activity of SrTi1-xCoxO3-δ (x = 0, 0.125, 0.25, 0.375, and 0.5) perovskites. The samples were successfully prepared by using the solid-state reaction method. Based on X-ray diffraction and the Rietveld refinement method, the elaborated samples were shown to preserve the absorption range up to the visible region. Moreover, the position of band edge levels after cobalt doping becomes more appropriate for water splitting. Our findings report that all cobalt-doped compounds exhibit good photocatalytic activities and could be used as suitable photocatalyst materials for hydrogen production.

Abstract
Nitrogen-doped lubricating additives have been proved to be an effective strategy to improve the tribological properties of lubricating oil. However, the traditional preparation methods of nitrogen-doped lubricating additives have the defects including harsh preparation conditions and a time-consuming preparation process. Herein, we report a preparation method of nitrogen-doped carbon dot (NCD) lubricating additives in a short time by one-step aldehyde condensation reaction at room temperature. The small size effect and nitrogen-containing functional groups of NCD lubricating additives provide favorable conditions for their dispersion and low friction in base oil. The tribological properties of NCD lubricating additives in sunflower oil (SFO) and PAO10 were systematically evaluated. The results show that NCD lubricating additives could reduce the average friction coefficient of SFO from 0.15 to 0.06 and PAO10 oil from 0.12 to 0.06, and the wear width is also decreased by 50-60%. In particular, the friction curve is very stable, and the friction coefficient was maintained at about 0.06 even under the working time of 5 h. By analyzing the morphology and chemical properties of the worn surface, the lubrication effect of NCDs is attributed to its small size effect and adsorption, which was easy to enter the friction gap to fill and repair. Furthermore, the doping of nitrogen induces the occurrence of friction chemical reactions, forming a friction film of nitrides and metal oxides at the friction interface, which effectively reduces the friction and wear of the surface. These findings provide a possibility for the convenient and effective preparation of NCD lubricating additives.

Rapid industrialization and overpopulation have led to energy shortages and environmental pollution, accelerating research to solve the issues. Currently, metal-free photocatalysts have gained the intensive attention of scientists due to their environmental-friendly nature and ease of preparation. It was noticed that g-C3N4 (GCN) consists of a few outstanding properties that could be used for various applications such as water treatment and clean energy production. Nonetheless, bare GCN contains several drawbacks such as high charge recombination, limited surface area, and low light sensitivity. Several solutions have been applied to overcome GCN limitations. Co-doping, tri-doping, and rare-earth-doping can be effective solutions to modify the GCN structure and improve its performance toward photocatalysis. This review highlights the function of multi-elemental and rare-earth dopants in GCN structure, mechanisms, and performance for photocatalytic applications as well as the advantages of co-doping, tri-doping, and rare-earth-doping of GCN. This review summarizes the different roles of dopants in addressing the limitations of GCN. Therefore, this article critically reviewed how multi-elemental and rare-earth-doping affect GCN properties and enhanced photoactivity for various applications.

Abstract
A novel ternary Ag3PO4/g-C3N4/hydroxyapatite photocatalyst was prepared, and its morphology, composition and structure were characterized by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and electron spin resonance, etc. The results show that g-C3N4 is evenly dispersed in the interior of hydroxyapatite, forming a homogeneous composite, and significantly improves the band gap structure of the material as a whole. Ag3PO4/g-C3N4/hydroxyapatite has good electron transfer ability and an appropriate energy band structure, which shows that the material has a good degradation effect and stability. Finally, based on the characterization and experimental results, a possible Z-scheme mechanism was proposed, and the active species involved in the reaction are mainly O2− and h+.

Abstract
Photocatalysis is considered to be an effective way to remove organic pollutants, but the key to photocatalysis is finding a high-efficiency and stable photocatalyst. 2D materials-based heterojunction has aroused widespread concerns in photocatalysis because of its merits in more active sites, adjustable band gaps and shorter charge transfer distance. Among various 2D heterojunction systems, 2D/2D heterojunction with a face-to-face contact interface is regarded as a highly promising photocatalyst. Due to the strong coupling interface in 2D/2D heterojunction, the separation and migration of photoexcited electron-hole pairs are facilitated, which enhances the photocatalytic performance. Thus, the design of 2D/2D heterojunction can become a potential model for expanding the application of photocatalysis in the removal of organic pollutants. Herein, in this review, we first summarize the fundamental principles, classification, and strategies for elevating photocatalytic performance. Then, the synthesis and application of the 2D/2D heterojunction system for the removal of organic pollutants are discussed. Finally, the challenges and perspectives in 2D/2D heterojunction photocatalysts and their application for removing organic pollutants are presented.

Abstract
This study investigates the degradation of nifedipine (NIF) by using a novel and highly efficient ultraviolet light combined with hydrogen peroxide (UV/H2O2). The degradation rate and degradation kinetics of NIF first increased and then remained constant as the H2O2 dose increased, and the quasi-percolation threshold was an H2O2 dose of 0.378 mmol/L. An increase in the initial pH and divalent anions (SO42- and CO32-) resulted in a linear decrease of NIF (the R2 of the initial pH, SO42- and CO32- was 0.6884, 0.9939 and 0.8589, respectively). The effect of monovalent anions was complex; Cl- and NO3- had opposite effects: low Cl- or high NO3- promoted degradation, and high Cl- or low NO3- inhibited the degradation of NIF. The degradation rate and kinetics constant of NIF via UV/H2O2 were 99.94% and 1.45569 min-1, respectively, and the NIF concentration = 5 mg/L, pH = 7, the H2O2 dose = 0.52 mmol/L, T = 20 ℃ and the reaction time = 5 min. The ·OH was the primary key reactive oxygen species (ROS) and ·O2- was the secondary key ROS. There were 11 intermediate products (P345, P329, P329-2, P315, P301, P274, P271, P241, P200, P181 and P158) and 2 degradation pathways (dehydrogenation of NIF → P345 → P274 and dehydration of NIF → P329 → P315).

Abstract
Because of their carcinogenicity and mutagenicity, the elimination of organic contaminants from surface and subsurface water is a subject of environmental significance. Conventional water decontamination approaches such as membrane separation, ultrafiltration, adsorption, reverse osmosis, coagulation, etc., have relatively higher operating costs and can generate highly toxic secondary contaminants. On the other hand, heterogeneous photocatalysis, an advanced oxidation process (AOP), is considered a clean and cost-effective process for organic pollutants degradation. Owing to their distinctive structure and physicochemical properties non-spherical semiconductors have gained considerable limelight in the photocatalytic degradation of organic contaminants. The current review briefly introduces a wide range of organic water contaminants. Recent advances in non-spherical semiconductor assembly and their photocatalytic degradation applications are highlighted. The underlying mechanism, fundamentals of photocatalytic reactions, and the factors affecting the degradation performance are also alluded including the current challenges and future research perspectives.

Abstract
Photocatalysis has been considered as an environmental-friendly strategy for degradation of organic pollutants to the nontoxic products of H2O and CO2. Compared to metal oxide semiconductors, BiOX (X = Cl, Br and I) photocatalysts exhibit some advantages, such as, unique layered structure, good chemical stability and superior photocatalytic activity. This review provides an overview on the controllable synthesis of BiOX-based photocatalysts and their application in photodegradation of organic pollutants. Firstly, the controllable synthesis of BiOX is introduced, including hydrothermal, solvothermal, hydrolysis, precipitation, two-phase methods, ultrasonic/microwave-assisted methods, and physical methods. Then, the doping and surface modification of BiOX are summarized, including non-metal doping, metal doping, dual doping, and the modification by introducing surface terminations or carriers. In addition, the heterojunctions of BiOX/BiOY and BiOX/Bi m O n X z are introduced. At last, the promising research trends of BiOX-based photocatalysts are put forward. The main purpose is providing practical guidelines for developing high-performance BiOX photocatalysts.

Abstract
In this work, a PCN/Fe2O3/CdS ternary heterojuction photocatalyst was constructed by introducing an appropriate amount of ferric oxide (Fe2O3) and cadmium sulfide (CdS) onto porous carbon nitride (PCN), denoted as PCN/Fe2O3/CdS. In the presence of PCN/Fe2O3/CdS, the turnover frequency value and selectivity of the oxidative coupling reaction of benzylamine were 6740 μmol g-1 h-1 and 99.4%, respectively. The excellent catalytic performance of the PCN/Fe2O3/CdS photocatalyst is attributed to fully exposed active sites due to the porous structure of PCN, improved light utilization efficiency by introduction of Fe2O3 and CdS, and increased mobility of e--h+ pairs by construction of a ternary heterostructure, and was proved by the analysis of its structural and optical properties. According to the substrate scope study and Hammett diagram analysis, the rate determining step of the benzylamine self-coupling reaction photocatalyzed by PCN/Fe2O3/CdS was the condensation of imine and benzylamine into N-benzylidenebenzylamine. The results of the free radical quenching experiment and electron spin resonance tests showed that h+ played a major role in the photoreaction process, followed by ˙O2- and ˙OH. After four photocatalytic reaction cycles, the catalytic performance of the PCN/Fe2O3/CdS heterojunction composite material remained good. Finally, combined with the free radical trapping experiment and energy band structure analysis, a possible double Z-type reaction mechanism was proposed.

Abstract
This study focused on the photocatalytic degradation of imidacloprid (IM) in water as the model pesticides. The effective division of photogenerated charge carriers is important in the photocatalytic reactions. So, a new PANI/WO3-CdS photocatalyst was synthesized by a simple method. The prepared PANI/WO3-CdS nanocomposite was characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), field emission scanning electron microscopy compatible with energy dispersive spectroscopy (FESEM-EDS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Degradation of IM pesticide under visible light irradiation was carried out to investigate the photocatalytic efficiency of the prepared nanocomposite. The effect of operational parameters on the degradation performance of pesticides was studied by response surface methodology (RSM). The optimum conditions for photocatalytic degradation of IM (94.7%) were found to be 10 ppm of IM, 150 mg of PANI/WO3-CdS, and pH = 3.0. The apparent rate constant of IM photodegradation over PANI/WO3-CdS was 0.016 min-1. According to results, PANI/WO3-CdS can serve as an efficient, and recyclable photocatalyst for imidacloprid degradation in an aqueous media.

Abstract
Magnetically separable core/shell Fe3O4/ZnO heteronanostructures (MSCSFZ) were synthesized by a facile approach, and their application for enhanced solar photodegradation of RhB was studied. The formation mechanism of MSCSFZ was proposed, in which Fe3O4 nanoparticles served as a template for supporting and anchoring the ZnO crystal layer as the shells. The morphology of MSCSFZ can be varied from spherical to rice seed-like structures, and the bandgap was able to be narrowed down to 2.78 eV by controlling the core–shell ratios. As a result, the MSCSFZ exhibited excellent visible-light photocatalytic activity for degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) in aqueous solution as compared to the controlled ZnO nanoparticles. Moreover, MSCSFZ could be easily detached from RhB solution and maintained its performance after 4 cycles of usage. This work provides new insights for the design of high-efficient core/shell recyclable photocatalysts with visible light photocatalytic performance. Magnetically separable core/shell Fe3O4/ZnO heteronanostructures (MSCSFZ) were synthesized by a facile approach, and their application for enhanced solar photodegradation of RhB was studied.![]()

Abstract
The surface structure significantly impacts the physicochemical properties of semiconductors. Constructing heterojunction is a universal approach to tune surface structure, which can effectively accelerate the charge transfer at the interface. Here, BiOCl nanosheets which occupy high ratio of surface atoms to entire atoms were used as a model photocatalyst, and a strategy was proposed to tune its surface structure by sequential introduction of oxygen vacancies, PO43- and Ag+ on surface of BiOCl nanosheets. In order to inhibit the overgrowth of heterogeneous component, the excess PO43- was timely removed by centrifugation before adding Ag+. As a result, the as-obtained optimal sample which was confirmed to be a composite composed of BiOCl, BiPO4 and AgCl showed superior photocatalytic activity for tetracycline hydrochloride degradation with the rate of 38 times higher than that of pristine BiOCl, which was mainly attributed to the quick migration of photongenerated carrier. The active species h+ and •O2- played a vital role in this degradation process. Our strategy not only greatly saved investment of noble metal Ag, but also provide superior stability. On the basis of experimental results and density functional theory calculation, the visible-light driven catalytic mechanism was revealed.

Manipulating the Structure and Characterization of Sr1−xLaxTiO3 Nanocubes toward the Photodegradation of 2-Naphthol under Artificial Solar Light. Catalysts 2021. Abstract
Effective La-doped SrTiO3 (Sr1−xLaxTiO3, x = 0–0.1 mol.% La-doped) nanocubes were successfully synthesized by a hydrothermal method. The influence of different La dopant concentrations on the physicochemical properties of the host structure of SrTiO3 was fully characterized. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) revealed that the Sr2+ in the crystal lattice of SrTiO3 was substituted by La3+. As a result, the absorption region of the Sr1−xLaxTiO3 could be extended to visible light. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images confirmed that their morphologies are associated with an increased surface area and an increased La-doping concentration. The decrease in the photoluminescence (PL) intensity of the dopant samples showed more defect levels created by the dopant La+3 cations in the SrTiO3 structure. The photocatalytic activities of Sr1−xLaxTiO3 were evaluated with regard to the degradation of 2-naphthol at typical conditions under artificial solar light. Among the candidates, Sr0.95La0.05TiO3 exhibited the highest photocatalytic performance for the degradation of 2-naphthol, which reached 92% degradation efficiency, corresponding to a 0.0196 min−1 degradation rate constant, within 180 minutes of irradiation. Manipulating the structure of Sr1−xLaxTiO3 nanocubes could produce a more effective and stable degradation efficiency than their parent compound, SrTiO3. The parameters remarkably influence the Sr1−xLaxTiO3 nanocubes’ structure, and their degradation efficiencies were also studied. Undoubtedly, substantial breakthroughs of Sr1−xLaxTiO3 nanocube photocatalysts toward the treatment of organic contaminants from industrial wastewater are expected shortly.

Prediction of Band Gap Energy of Doped Graphitic Carbon Nitride Using Genetic Algorithm-Based Support Vector Regression and Extreme Learning Machine. Symmetry (Basel) 2021. Abstract
Graphitic carbon nitride is a stable and distinct two dimensional carbon-based polymeric semiconductor with remarkable potentials in organic pollutants degradation, chemical sensors, the reduction of CO2, water splitting and other photocatalytic applications. Efficient utilization of this material is hampered by the nature of its band gap and the rapid recombination of electron-hole pairs. Heteroatom incorporation due to doping alters the symmetry of the semiconductor and has been among the adopted strategies to tailor the band gap for enhancing the visible-light harvesting capacity of the material. Electron modulation and enhancement of reaction active sites due to doping as evident from the change in specific surface area of doped graphitic carbon nitride is employed in this work for modeling the associated band gap using hybrid genetic algorithm-based support vector regression (GSVR) and extreme learning machine (ELM). The developed GSVR performs better than ELM-SINE (with sine activation function), ELM-TRANBAS (with triangular basis activation function) and ELM-SIG (with sigmoid activation function) model with performance enhancement of 69.92%, 73.59% and 73.67%, respectively, on the basis of root mean square error as a measure of performance. The four developed models are also compared using correlation coefficient and mean absolute error while the developed GSVR demonstrates a high degree of precision and robustness. The excellent generalization and predictive strength of the developed models would ultimately facilitate quick determination of the band gap of doped graphitic carbon nitride and enhance its visible-light harvesting capacity for various photocatalytic applications.

Abstract
Here, we successfully synthesized the oxygen-linked band and porous defect co-modified orange carbon nitride (AF-C3N4) using a simple method. Further, the band structure calculation of its simulated structure is performed by DFT, which shows that the introduction of oxygen-linked band can adjust its band structure. The photocatalytic degradation rates of 0.3AF-C3N4 for bisphenol A and 2-mercaptobenzothiazole were 8 times and 2.73 times that of the original g-C3N4, respectively. Moreover, 0.3AF-C3N4 also shows photocatalytic activity under different wavelength light (blue, green and red light), which indicates that the synthesized materials have a broad spectrum of photocatalytic activity. Further, we proposed a possible photocatalytic degradation pathway by HPLC-MS analysis. Free radical quenching test and ESR spectra show that the generated superoxide radicals (•O2-), hydroxyl radicals (•OH) and holes (h+) cause photodegradation, while enhancing singlet oxygen (1O2) and weaken the content of hydrogen peroxide has further proved that active oxygen groups play an important role in the photocatalytic degradation process. Additionally, the 0.3AF-C3N4 can also be a photoelectrochemical sensor to detect the concentration of bisphenol A (λ ≥ 550 nm). This study provides a new strategy for the synthesis of orange carbon nitride by oxygen-linked band and porous defect co-modification for photocatalytic applications.
