Abstract
The development of metal organic framework (MOF)-based π-π conjugated structures capable of effectively transforming H2O from humid air to •OH radicals for VOCs photodegradation is a significant but difficult task. Herein, an amino-ionic liquid (NH2-IL) based dual-mode bridging strategy was proposed to connect 3D-graphene with NH2-MIL-125 forming IL-3DGr/NM(Ti) nanohybrids for advanced acetaldehyde photodegradation. The rational integration of these components was responsible for: (1) maintaining π-π conjugated electron transport system; (2) generating abundant coordinatively unsaturated sites and oxygen vacancies; (3) increasing surface area of the nanohybrids. With these attributes, IL-3DGr/NM(Ti) demonstrated enhanced charge separation and transportation electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS): 7-times), acetaldehyde adsorption (22 %), light absorption (bandgap: 1.51 eV). The rapid H2O adsorption and photoconversion to •OH radicals by IL-3DGr/NM(Ti) enabled it to demonstrate superior CH3CHO photodegradation rate under high humidity, surpassing many state-of-the-art photocatalysts by 9 to 187 times under static air conditions and with nearly similar catalyst dosages* (photocatalyst weight and initial acetaldehyde concentration (mg ppm-1) ratio). Interestingly, the IL-3DGr/NM(Ti) photocatalytic activity was enhanced by increasing RH% up-to 80 %. Besides, the nanohybrids demonstrated tremendous stability, with only a 3.9 % decline observed after 5 consecutive-cycles. This strategy provides new prospects to improve the compatibility of graphene/MOF materials for futuristic photoelectrical applications under high humidity.

Abstract
4-Nitrophenol (4-NP) is reported to originate disadvantageous effects on the human body collected from industrial pollutants; therefore, the detoxification of 4-NP in aqueous contamination is strongly recommended. In this study, the heterojunction mesoporous α-Fe2O3/TiO2 modulated with diverse Ag percentages has been constructed via a sol-gel route in the occurrence of a soft template P123. The formation of biphasic crystalline TiO2 anatase and brookite phases has been successfully achieved with the average 10 nm particle sizes. The photo/-catalytic reduction of 4-NP has been performed utilizing NaBH4 as a reducing agent with and without visible illumination. All Ag/Fe2O3/TiO2 nanocomposites exhibited significantly higher photo/-catalytic reduction efficiency than pure Fe2O3, TiO2 NPs, and Fe2O3/TiO2 nanocomposite. 2.5% Ag/Fe2O3/TiO2 nanocomposite was considered the highest and superior photocatalytic reduction efficiency, and it almost achieved 98% after 9 min. Interestingly, the photocatalytic reduction of 4-NP was accelerated 9 times higher than the catalytic reduction over 2.5% Ag/Fe2O3/TiO2; its rate constant value was 709 and 706 times larger than pure TiO2 and Fe2O3 NPs, respectively. The enhanced photocatalytic reduction ability of Ag/Fe2O3/TiO2 nanocomposite might be referred to as significantly providing visible light absorption and a large surface area, and it can upgrade the effective separation and mobility of electron holes. The stability of the synthesized catalysts exhibited that the obtained catalysts can undergo a slight decrease in reduction efficiency after five successive cycles. This approach highlights a novel route for constructing ternary nanocomposite systems with high photo/-catalytic ability.

Abstract
Although they are of significant importance for environmental applications, the industrialization of photocatalytic techniques still faces many difficulties, and the most urgent concern is cost control. Natural minerals possess abundant chemical inertia and cost-efficiency, which is suitable for hybridizing with various effective photocatalysts. The use of natural minerals in photocatalytic systems can not only significantly decrease the pure photocatalyst dosage but can also produce a favorable synergistic effect between photocatalyst and mineral substrate. This review article discusses the current progress regarding the use of various mineral classes in photocatalytic applications. Owing to their unique structures, large surface area, and negatively charged surface, silicate minerals could enhance the adsorption capacity, reduce particle aggregation, and promote photogenerated electron-hole pair separation for hybrid photocatalysts. Moreover, controlling the morphology and structure properties of these materials could have a great influence on their light-harvesting ability and photocatalytic activity. Composed of silica and alumina or magnesia, some silicate minerals possess unique orderly organized porous or layered structures, which are proper templates to modify the photocatalyst framework. The non-silicate minerals (referred to carbonate and carbon-based minerals, sulfate, and sulfide minerals and other special minerals) can function not only as catalyst supports but also as photocatalysts after special modification due to their unique chemical formula and impurities. The dye-sensitized minerals, as another natural mineral application in photocatalysis, are proved to be superior photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution and wastewater treatment. This work aims to provide a complete research overview of the mineral-supported photocatalysts and summarizes the common synergistic effects between different mineral substrates and photocatalysts as well as to inspire more possibilities for natural mineral application in photocatalysis.

Abstract
Research on layered two-dimensional (2D) materials is at the forefront of material science. Because 2D materialshave variousplate shapes, there is a great deal of research on the layer-by-layer-type junction structure. In this study, we designed a composite catalyst with a dimension lower than two dimensions and with catalysts that canbe combined so that the band structures can be designed to suit various applications and cover for each other’s disadvantages. Among transition metal dichalcogenides, 1T-WS2 can be a promising catalytic material because of its unique electrical properties. Black phosphorus with properly controlled surface oxidation can act as a redox functional group. We synthesized black phosphorus that was properly surface oxidized by oxygen plasma treatment and made a catalyst for water quality improvement through composite with 1T-WS2. This photocatalytic activity was highly efficient such that the reaction rate constant k was 10.31 × 10−2 min−1. In addition, a high-concentration methylene blue solution (20 ppm) was rapidly decomposed after more than 10 cycles and showed photo stability. Designing and fabricating bandgap energy-matching nanocomposite photocatalysts could provide a fundamental direction in solving the future’s clean energy problem.

Abstract
In the process of photocatalytic oxidation (PCO), titanium dioxide (TiO2) shows excellent capabilities. However, when TiO2 is used to remove volatile organic compounds (VOCs), there are some drawbacks including weak adsorption of gaseous contaminants, insufficient utilization of sunlight, and rapid recombination of photogenerated carriers. Herein, a TiO2-based ternary heterogeneous photocatalyst, g-C3N4/Ag-TiO2, was successfully fabricated to photodegrade gaseous acetaldehyde (one of the representatives of oxygenated VOCs) under visible light. Among the various samples, the g-C3N4/50 wt% Ag-TiO2 exhibited an excellent photocatalytic activity, which was 5.8 times of bare TiO2. The mineralization efficiency of acetaldehyde was also increased by 3.7 times compared to bare TiO2. The substantial improvement in the PCO performance of the ternary system can be associated with the good adsorption to acetaldehyde gas and light-harvesting capability, as well as improved charge separation process. The application of Langmuir-Hinshelwood kinetic model suggested that relative humidity played a significant role in the VOCs degradation. Also, the photodegradation of gaseous acetaldehyde primarily occurred on the catalysts surface. Based on several characterizations, i.e., UV-vis spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectrum, photocurrent spectroscopy and electron spin-resonance test, a suitable degradation mechanism is proposed. This study provides a novel ternary photocatalyst with improved photocatalytic performance and stability, which can be used for the low-concentration VOCs abatement in the indoor environment.
