Abstract
Two new copper dimers, namely, bis-(dimethyl sulfoxide)-tetra-kis-(μ-pyrene-1-carboxyl-ato)dicopper(Cu-Cu), [Cu2(C17H9O2)4(C2H6OS)2] or [Cu2(pyr-COO-)4(DMSO)2] (1), and bis-(di-methyl-formamide)-tetra-kis-(μ-pyrene-1-carboxyl-ato)dicopper(Cu-Cu), [Cu2(C17H9O2)4(C3H7NO)2] or [Cu2(pyr-COO-)4(DMF)2] (2) (pyr = pyrene), were synthesized from the reaction of pyrene-1-carb-oxy-lic acid, copper(II) nitrate and tri-ethyl-amine from solvents DMSO and DMF, respectively. While 1 crystallized in the space group P , the crystal structure of 2 is in space group P21/n. The Cu atoms have octa-hedral geometries, with four oxygen atoms from carboxyl-ate pyrene ligands occupying the equatorial positions, a solvent mol-ecule coordinating at one of the axial positions, and a Cu⋯Cu contact in the opposite position. The packing in the crystal structures exhibits π-π stacking inter-actions and short contacts through the solvent mol-ecules. The Hirshfeld surfaces and two-dimensional fingerprint plots were generated for both compounds to better understand the inter-molecular inter-actions and the contribution of heteroatoms from the solvent ligands to the crystal packing. In addition, a Cu2+/Cu1+ quasi-reversible redox process was identified for compound 2 using cyclic voltammetry that accounts for a diffusion-controlled electron-donation process to the Cu dimer.

Abstract
Dinuclear CuII complexes with 3,5-dinitrobenzoates and 2,2'-bipyridine (2) or 1,10-phenanthroline (3) were synthesized and characterized. A complete energy framework analysis using the HF/3-21G energy model was performed which found that dispersion forces and C-H...O interactions are responsible for the crystal structure features. The magnetic properties of the complexes show a weak magnetic exchange between spins, resulting in low exchange constants of -2.72 (1) cm-1 and -1.10 (1) cm-1 for complexes (2) and (3), respectively. This results from the low overlap between magnetic orbitals induced by 3,5-dinitrobenzoate bridges and the arrangement of the magnetic orbitals. Consequently, the dinuclear complexes (2) and (3) behave as spin-isolated multinuclear CuII species in contrast to the trinuclear complex with similar ligands.

Abstract
Three metal-organic coordination polymers containing rigid bis(triazole) ligand, namely, [Zn1.5(btb)(nbta)(H2O)]n (1), {[Zn(btb)(3-nph)]·(H2O)}n (2) and [Zn(btb)(4-nph)]n (3) (btb=4,4'-bis(1,2,4-triazolyl-1-yl)-biphenyl, 3-H2nph=3-nitrophthalic acid, H3nbta=5-nitro-1,2,3-benzenetricarboxylic acid, and 4-H2nph=4-nitrophthalic acid) were synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and structurally characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Complex 1 possesses an interesting 3D coordination framework with a rarely binodal (4,4)-connected frl topological structure. Complexes 2 and 3 exhibit similiar 2D (4,4) grid layers with different point symbol (4(4)·6(4)) in 2 and (4(4)·6(2)) in 3. Furthermore, thermal stability of these compounds has been discussed. Complexes 1-3 exhibit strong solid-state fluorescence at room temperature in solid state.
