Abstract
The SARS-CoV-2 main protease, as a key target for antiviral therapeutics, is instrumental in maintaining virus stability, facilitating translation, and enabling the virus to evade innate immunity. Our research focused on designing non-covalent inhibitors to counteract the action of this protease. Utilizing a 3D-QSAR model and contour map, we successfully engineered eight novel non-covalent inhibitors. Further evaluation and comparison of these novel compounds through methodologies including molecular docking, ADMET analysis, frontier molecular orbital studies, molecular dynamics simulations, and binding free energy revealed that the inhibitors N02 and N03 demonstrated superior research performance (N02 ΔGbind=-206.648 kJ/mol, N03 ΔGbind=-185.602 kJ/mol). These findings offer insightful guidance for the further refinement of molecular structures and the development of more efficacious inhibitors. Consequently, future investigations can draw upon these findings to unearth more potent inhibitors, thereby amplifying their impact in the treatment and prevention of associated diseases.

Abstract
Two 3D-supramolecular coordination polymers (SCP1 & SCP2) have been synthesized and characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. In a solution of 1.0 M HCl, SCPs were used to prevent corrosion of carbon steel (CS). The inhibition productivity (%η) rises as the synthetic inhibitor dose rises, and the opposite is true as the temperature rises. The study was carried out using chemical (mass loss, ML) and electrochemical ( potentiodynamic polarization, PDP and electrochemical impedance microscopy, EIS) techniques, which showed %η reached to 93.1% and 92.5% for SCP1 & SCP2, respectively at 21 × 10-6 M, 25 °C. For the polarization results, SCPs behave as mixed-type inhibitors. With increasing doses of SCPs, the charge transfer resistance grew and the double layer's capacitance lowered. The creation of a monolayer on the surface of CS was demonstrated by the finding that the adsorption of SCPs on its surface followed the Henry adsorption isotherm. The parameters of thermodynamics were computed and explained. The physical adsorption of SCPs on the surface of CS is shown by the lowering values of free energy (∆Goads < - 20 kJ mol-1) and increasing the activation energy (E*a) values in presence of SCP1 & SCP2 than in their absence. Atomic force microscope (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) demonstrated the development of a protective thin film of SCPs precipitated on the surface of CS. There is a strong matching between results obtained from experimental and theoretical studies. Results from each approach that was used were consistent.

Abstract
Three hydrazone derivatives have been synthesized using condensation reaction of 4-hydrazinylbenzoic acid with three aromatic aldehydes namely: thiophene-2-carbaldehyde, thiophene-3-carbaldehyde and 2-furaldehyde in ethanol at 78 °C reflux. The synthesized molecules have been characterized using spectroscopic and physicochemical methods including UV-Vis, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 15N NMR and melting point determination. Optimized molecular structures, UV-Vis and IR spectra modeling, the reactivity, the stability and some quantum chemical parameters of the synthesized molecules were modeled utilizing density functional theory (DFT). The obtained theoretical results were found in good agreement with the experimental results. On the other hand, the antioxidant and antibacterial activities of the molecules under study were evaluated to better understand the associated mechanisms of action specifically. Also, predicted ADME-T and pharmacokinetic parameters indicated that these compounds showed good oral bioavailability. Finally, molecular docking has been used to predict the inhibitory activity of the studied hydrazone derivatives on the SARS-CoV-2 main protease (Mpro).

Abstract
Three novel p-phenylenediamine and benzidine coumarin derivatives were synthetized, namely: 4,4'-((((1,4-phenylenebis(azaneylylidene))bis(ethan-1-yl-1-ylidene))bis(2-oxo-2H-chromene-3,6-diyl))bis(diazene-2,1-diyl))dibenzenesulfonic acid (PhODB), 4,4'-(((-([1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-diylbis(azaneylylidene))bis(ethan-1-yl-1-ylidene))bis(2-oxo-2H-chromene-3,6-diyl))bis(diazene-2,1-diyl))dibenzenesulfonic acid (BODB) and 4,4'-(((-((3,3'-dimethoxy-[1,1'-biphenyl]-4,4'-diyl)bis(azaneylylidene))bis(ethan-1-yl-1-ylidene))bis(2-oxo-2H-chromene-3,6-iyl))bis(diazene-2,1-diyl))dibenzenesulfonic acid (DODB). Their chemical structures were proved by performing Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, proton nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry analysis. The synthesized p-phenylenediamine and benzidine coumarin derivatives were tested as corrosion inhibitors for mild steel (MS) in 1 M HCl solution using weight loss, electrochemical, morphological, and theoretical studies. The compound 3,3'-dimethoxy benzidine coumarin derivative (DODB) was proved to give the highest efficiency with 94.98% obtained from weight loss measurements. These compounds are mixed inhibitors, as seen by the polarization curves. Impedance diagrams showed that when the concentration of these derivatives rose, the double-layer capacitance fell and the charge transfer resistance increased. Calculated thermodynamic parameters were computed and the mechanism of adsorption was also studied for the synthesized p-phenylenediamine and benzidine coumarin derivatives. The ability of the synthesized derivatives to protect the surface against corrosion was investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM), UV-visible spectroscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). Theoretical chemical calculations (DFT) and biological resistivity (SRB) were investigated.

Abstract
The present work aims to study 6-amino-4-aryl-2-oxo-1-phenyl-1,2-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarbonitrile derivatives namely: 6-Amino-2-oxo-1,4-diphenyl-1,2-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarbonitrile (PdC-H), 6-Amino-2-oxo-1-phenyl-4-(p-tolyl)-1,2-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarbonitrile (PdC-Me) and 6-Amino-4-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-oxo-1-phenyl-1,2-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarbonitrile (PdC-OH) as corrosion inhibitors to provide protection for carbon steel in a molar hydrochloric acid medium. Chemical measurements such as (weight loss) and electrochemical techniques such as (Potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and Electron frequency modulation) were applied to characterize the inhibitory properties of the synthesized derivatives. The adsorption of these derivatives on the carbon steel surface was confirmed by Attenuated Total Refraction Infrared (ATR-IR), Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS). Our findings revealed that the tested derivatives have corrosion inhibition power, which increased significantly from 75.7 to 91.67% on the addition of KI (PdC-OH:KI = 1:1) to inhibited test solution with PdC-OH derivative at 25 °C. The adsorption process on the metal surface follows the Langmuir adsorption model. XPS analysis showed that the inhibitor layer consists of an iron oxide/hydroxide mixture in which the inhibitor molecules are incorporated. Computational chemical theories such as DFT calculations and Mont Carlo simulation have been performed to correlate the molecular properties of the investigated inhibitors with experimental efficiency. The theoretical speculation by Dmol3 corroborates with the results from the experimental findings.

Abstract
A new α-Hydrazinophosphonic acid (HDZPA) has been synthesized and its molecular structure was determined using spectroscopic methods. The Density Functional Theory (DFT) at the B3LYP/6-31 G (d,p) level was utilized to determine the electronic properties, vibrational modes and active sites of the examined molecule. In this context, some quantum chemical parameters have been calculated in order to discuss the reactivity of the studied molecule. Also, the inhibition activity of the investigated α-Hydrazinophosphonic acid for SARS-CoV-2 main protease (Mpro) and RNA dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) has been predicted using in silico docking.

Abstract
Molecular modelling of organic compounds using computational software has emerged as a powerful approach for theoretical determination of the corrosion inhibition potential of organic compounds. Some of the common techniques involved in the theoretical studies of corrosion inhibition potential and mechanisms include density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics (MD) and Monte Carlo (MC) simulations, and artificial neural network (ANN) and quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) modeling. Using computational modelling, the chemical reactivity and corrosion inhibition activities of organic compounds can be explained. The modelling can be regarded as a time-saving and eco-friendly approach for screening organic compounds for corrosion inhibition potential before their wet laboratory synthesis would be carried out. Another advantage of computational modelling is that molecular sites responsible for interactions with metallic surfaces (active sites or adsorption sites) and the orientation of organic compounds can be easily predicted. Using different theoretical descriptors/parameters, the inhibition effectiveness and nature of the metal-inhibitor interactions can also be predicted. The present review article is a collection of major advancements in the field of computational modelling for the design and testing of the corrosion inhibition effectiveness of organic corrosion inhibitors.

Abstract
The title compound, diethyl [(4-{(9H-carbazol-9-yl)methyl}-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)(benzamido)methyl]phosphonate, was synthesized with excellent yield and high regioselectivity through 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction between the α-azido diethyl amino methylphosphonate and the heterocyclic alkyne, 9-(prop-2-yn-1-yl)-9H-carbazole. The cyclization reaction by “click chemistry” was carried out in a water/ethanol solvent mixture (50/50), in the presence of copper sulfate pentahydrate and catalytic sodium ascorbate. The characterization of the structure of the resulting 1,4-regioisomer was performed by 1D and 2D-NMR experiments, infrared spectroscopy, and elemental analysis.

Abstract
This study aims to evaluate and understand the adsorption of eriochrome black T (EB) by chitosan extracted from local shrimp shells under different experimental conditions. Chitosan samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, and FTIR. Experimental results indicate that the process was pH-dependent with a high adsorption capacity in acidic medium. The adsorption was rapid and kinetic data were suitably correlated to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. EB molecules were adsorbed on monolayer according to the Langmuir model with an adsorption capacity of 162.3 mg/g. On the other hand, it should be noted that calculated quantum chemical parameters support the experimentally obtained results. The interaction energies calculated for (molecule/chitosan) complexes were in the order of H2EB- > HEB2- (O38) > HEB2- (O48) > EB > H3EB > EB3-, which means that the best and possible adsorption process can take place with H2EB- form. The molecular dynamics (MD) approach was performed to illuminate the nature of the relationship between the EB and the chitosan (110) surface. It was found that the chitosan (110) surface adsorbs EB molecule in a nearby parallel orientation. The higher negative adsorption energy determined for the H2EB- implies that the adsorption mechanism is the typical chemisorption.
