Abstract
A new thiosemicarbazide-modified, sulfonamide-based poly (styrene) adsorbent (T-CSPS) was prepared starting from the reaction of chlorosulfonated polystyrene and thiosemicarbazide. It was characterized by SEM-EDX, FT-IR, and zeta potential. The T-CSPS was used as an adsorbent for the first time for the dispersive solid-phase microextraction (d-SPµE) and preconcentration of Pb(II) ions from waters and dill and lettuce extracts in the unified bioaccessibility method (UBM) saliva. Lead was then determined using the FAAS. In the first step of optimization, the solution pH was changed from 2 to 8, and pH 4 with a recovery value of 103% ± 5 was selected. Two milliliters of 2 mol L-1 HCl was chosen as eluent. Contact times were found to be only 2 min. Effects of coexisting ions and sample volume were tested. Under optimal conditions, the preconcentration factor (PF) and the adsorption capacity were 15 and 40 mg g-1. The RSD% was 2.2% and 3.1% for intra-day and inter-day precision, respectively. The LOD and LOQ were found to be 5.1 µg L-1 and 16.9 µg L-1, respectively. The accuracy of the d-SPµE was checked by TMDA-70.2 Lake water and BCR-482 Lichen-certified reference materials and also applying d-SPµE to spiked waters and lettuce and dill extracts in UBM saliva.

Abstract
This review mainly focuses on the development and application of ordered mesoporous silica materials for solid-phase extraction in recent years. It overviews not only bare mesoporous silica but also the functionalized mesoporous silica with organic groups, molecularly imprinted polymers, and magnetic materials. These mesoporous silica materials were used as the extraction adsorbents in cartridge solid-phase extraction, dispersive solid-phase extraction, magnetic solid-phase extraction, micro-solid-phase extraction and matrix solid phase dispersion. Coupled with atomic emission spectrometry, chromatography or other detection methods, these techniques efficiently extracted and sensitively determined various targets, such as metal ions, perfluorocarboxylic acids, pesticides, drugs, endocrine disruptors, phenols, flavanones, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, parabens and so on. Based on unique advantages of mesoporous silica materials, the developed analytical method successfully analyzed different matrix samples, like environmental water samples, soil samples, food samples, biological samples and cosmetics. In addition, the prospects of these materials in solid-phase extraction are presented, which can offer an outlook for the further development and applications.

Abstract
Novel halogenated flame retardants (HFRs) have attracted much attention due to their environmental hazard and adverse effects on human health. In this study, a sensitive and simultaneous method for the determination of six novel HFRs was developed, including tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA), tetrachlorobisphenolA, TBBPA bis(2-hydroxyethyl ether), TBBPA bis(allyl ether), TBBPA bis(2,3-dibromopropyl ether) and 2,4,6-tris(2,4,6-tribromophenoxy)-1,3,5-triazine. ZIF-8 modified nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide (ZIF-8@N-rGO) was synthesized and coated onto a syringe filter to prepare a thin film microextraction (TFME) device. The adsorption capacities of ZIF-8@N-rGO for novel HFRs ranged from 50.98 to 112.84 mg g-1, exhibiting good extraction efficiency through a combination of π-π, hydrophobic, and hydrogen bonding interactions. The TFME device was coupled to a high-performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detection system to simultaneously determine target HFRs in crayfish-aquaculture water systems. Under the optimal extraction parameters, the linearities ranged from 0.1 to 100 ng mL-1. The method detection limits ranged from 0.030 to 0.14 ng mL-1 and relative recoveries ranged from 88.6 to 106.2%. We found that novel HFRs were detected in water and crayfish samples and were primarily distributed in the viscera and head shell of the crayfish. The bioconcentration factors ranged from 0.25 to 19.20 L kg-1, indicating non-bioaccumulation in the crayfish. This study provides valuable technology and information for potential health risks of exposure to novel HFRs from consuming crayfish.

Abstract
In this work, the inhibition of clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) - CRISPR associated protein (Cas) trans-cleavage by Pb2+-induced G-quadruplex has been firstly explored to detect Pb2+ in tea beverage and milk. In absence of Pb2+, the Na+-induced G-quadruplex can be cleaved by CRISPR-Cas12a. In contrast, Pb2+ can competitively combine with G-quadruplex, resulting in its conformational changes and resistance to trans-cleavage of CRISPR-Cas12a. Therefore, the fluorescence resonance energy transfer can happen. Pb2+ can be detected in a linear range from 100 nM to 5 µM with a lowest detection limit of 2.6 nM and a relative standard deviation of 4.32%. In summary, this work not only provides a new method for Pb2+ detection based on its induced G-quadruplex inhibition on CRISPR-Cas12a trans-cleavage, but also broadens the application of CRISPR-Cas system for heavy metal analysis in the field of food safety.

Abstract
An efficient sorbent based on 2,3-dimercapto-1-propanol immobilized on multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs@DMP) was developed for separation/speciation of organic and inorganic lead (alkyl-Pb, Pb2+) in human blood, urine, and water samples by dispersive ionic liquid-suspension-micro-solid phase extraction (DIL-S-μ-SPE). By procedure, the MWCNTs@DMP as solid phase, acetone, and ionic liquid (IL, [HMIM][PF6]) were mixed and injected to 10 mL of the liquid phase at pH = 6.5. After shaking, the Pb(II) was extracted in MWCNTs@DMP and settled down in a conical tube with IL by centrifuging (Pb2+→: SH-SiO2@CNTs). The lead (Pb2+) was back-extracted from sorbent/IL in acidic pH and measured by atom trap atomic absorption spectrometry (AT-AAS). In addition, the organic lead (R-Pb, alkyl lead) converted to Pb(II) and total lead (T-Pb) was determined in the same conditions by UV radiation in 95 °C. Under the optimal conditions, the linear range (9.5-480 μg L-1), LOD (3.2 μg L-1), and enrichment factor (10.4) were obtained (RSD < 5%). The adsorption capacity of the MWCNTs@DMP and MWCNTs was achieved as 191.6 mg g-1 and 25.8 mg g-1, respectively. The method was validated by standard reference materials (SRM 1643d, SRM 955, and SRM 2668), ET-AAS, and ICP-MS analysis in real samples. Graphical abstract.

Abstract
An efficient and fast dispersive magnetic solid phase extraction method was developed using MIL-101(Cr)/poly (mercaptobenzothiazole)@magnetite nanoparticles for the preconcentration and determination of nitrophenols in river and rain water samples. High-performance liquid chromatography-Ultraviolet instrument was applied for the analysis of target nitrophenols. The effect of several variables on the extraction performance was explored via design of experiment approach. Limits of detection and linear dynamic ranges were attained in the range of 0.05-0.10 µg/L and 0.2-250 µg/L, respectively. The enrichment factors were in the range of 317-363. The precision (n = 3) of dispersive magnetic solid phase extraction method was in the range of 5.3-6.8%. Eventually, the method was utilized for the analysis of target nitrophenols in river and rain water samples.
