Abstract
Limited by the intrinsic low electronic conductivity and inferior electrode kinetics, the use of TiO2as an anode material for lithium ion batteries (LIBs) is hampered. Nanoscale surface-engineering strategies of morphology control and particle size reduction have been devoted to increase the lithium storage performances. It is found that the ultrafine nanocrystal with mesoporous framework plays a crucial role in achieving the excellent electrochemical performances due to the surface area effect. Herein, a promising anode material for LIBs consisting of phosphorus-doped TiO2mesoporous nanocrystals (P-TMC) with ultrafine size of 2-8 nm and high specific surface area (234.164 m2g-1) has been synthesized. It is formed through a hydrothermal process and NaBH4assisted heat treatment for anatase defective TiO2(TiO2-x) formation followed by a simple gas phosphorylation process in a low-cost reactor for P-doping. Due to the merits of the large specific surface area for providing more reaction sites for Li+ions to increase the storage capacity and the presence of oxygen vacancies and P-doping for enhancing material's electronic conductivity and diffusion coefficient of ions, the as-designed P-TMC can display improved electrochemical properties. As a LIB anode, it can deliver a high reversible discharge capacity of 187 mAh g-1at 0.2 C and a good long cycling performance with ∼82.6% capacity retention (101 mAh g-1) after 2500 cycles at 10 C with an average capacity loss of only 0.007% per cycle. Impressively, even the current rate increases to 100 times of the original rate, a satisfactory capacity of 104 mAh g-1can be delivered, displaying good rate capacity. These results suggest the P-TMC a viable choice for application as an anode material in LIB applications. Also, the strategy in this work can be easily extended to the design of other high-performance electrode materials with P-doping for energy storage.

Abstract
In this study, P-doped TiO2 photocatalysts with different molar percentages (in the range 0.071-1.25 mol %) of the non-metallic element were prepared and their photocatalytic activity under visible light irradiation was tested. All achieved samples were characterized by XRD, Raman, UV-Vis DRS and SEM-EDX techniques. XRD and Raman analysis showed that all doped photocatalysts were in anatase phase and evidenced that P ions were successfully incorporated into the TiO2 crystal lattice, affecting also the crystallinity degree of the P-doped TiO2 photocatalysts. Noticeably, the UV-Vis DRS spectra evidenced that the highest redshift in absorption edge was observed for the photocatalyst with the lowest P content (0.071PT), which showed also the lowest bandgap (2.9 eV). The photocatalytic performances of all P-doped TiO2 samples were compared with that of commercial TiO2 by evaluating the decolorization of methylene blue (MB) dye under visible light irradiation. Results showed that phosphorus doping strongly promoted photocatalytic activity in the presence of visible light. Furthermore, the most active photocatalyst in visible light tests (0.071PT) also showed better photocatalytic activity than commercial TiO2 in the decolorization of MB under simulated sunlight irradiation. Finally, 0.071PT photocatalyst was preliminarily tested against Escherichia coli (E. coli) under simulated solar light, showing an inactivation efficiency of 90% after 2 h of treatment time.

Abstract
In this study, a highly efficient and stable phosphorus-doped Tungsten trioxide (P-WO3) photocatalyst was successfully synthesized using a combination of hydrothermal and post-calcination method. The microstructures, morphologies and optical properties of the obtained WO3 and P-WO3 samples were characterized. The results showed that P was uniformly doped into the WO3 lattice in a pentavalent-oxidation state (P5+). The charge carrier traps were also formed, which could accept the photoelectrons. Furthermore, the band gap energy was reduced from 2.4 to 2.33 ev. The photocatalytic performance of the obtained P-WO3 samples with different P concentrations were then tested by photocatalytic degradation of methyl blue (MB). It was found that the 6%-P-WO3 sample exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity, with 96% of MB being able to be degraded within 120 min, which was more than four times higher than that of the pure WO3. The practicality of the prepared P-WO3 was also evaluated using samples from two domestic wastewater treatment plants. The P-WO3 had a high photodegradation performance in treating low concentration of organic matters from real wastewater. The photocatalysis of P-WO3 could be mainly initiated by the production of hydroxyl radical (·OH) and photogenerated hole (h+).

Abstract
Photocatalysis, as a low-cost and environment friendly technology, has demonstrated a significant potential for water pollution purification; it has received extensive attention in recent decades. The key is the photocatalyst; a large number of photocatalysts have been developed. To better understand and further develop the photocatalysis technology for water treatment, this review summarizes its development over time. The development period is divided into four stages (1960s-1993, 1994-2000, 2001-2010, and 2011-present) to provide readers with a better understanding of the development characteristics, and causes and consequences of each historical stage. This review expounds the origin and development of photocatalysis and the obstacles encountered and overcome. It describes the development of mechanisms and methods to solve these problems in each time period. Moreover, it reviews the recent development of new photocatalysts, the concept of designing photocatalysts, and photocatalytic-coupling systems. Finally, it enumerates the problems that continue to exist in the application of photocatalysis technology, and highlights the key issues that must be addressed in future research. The review is aimed at providing the researchers with a deeper understanding of photocatalysis technology and encourage further development of the application of photocatalysis to water treatment.

Abstract
Advanced oxidation process involves production of hydroxyl radical for industrial wastewater treatment. This method is based on the irradiation of UV light to photocatalysts such as TiO2 and ZnO for photodegradation of pollutant. UV light is used for irradiation in photocatalytic process because TiO2 has a high band gap energy which is around 3.2 eV. There can be shift adsorption to visible light by reducing the band gap energy to below 3.2 eV. Doped catalyst is one of the means to reduce band gap energy. Different methods are used for doped catalyst which uses transition metals and titanium dioxide. The band gap energy of three types of transition metals Fe, Cd and Co after being doped with TiO2, are around 2.88 ev, 2.97ev and 2.96 ev, respectively which are all below TiO2 energy. Some of the transition metals change the energy level to below 3.2 eV and the adsorption shifts to visible light for degradation of industrial pollutant after being doped with titanium dioxide. This paper aims at providing a deep insight into advanced oxidation processes, photocatalysts and their applications in wastewater treatment, doping processes and the effects of operational factors on photocatalytic degradation.

Abstract
This paper aims to review and summarize the recent works on the photocatalytic degradation of various organic pollutants in the presence of nano-doped-TiO2 photocatalysts. In this regard, three main aspects are examined: (a) the presence of various dopants (metal dopants, nonmetal dopants, halogen dopants, metalloid dopants, and codopants) in the formation of nano-doped-TiO2 photocatalysts, (b) the effect of the presence of dopants on the photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants, and (c) the effects of various operating parameters on the photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants in the presence of nano-doped-TiO2 photocatalysts. Reports resulted suggest that the formation of a high percentage of the anatase phase, small crystallite size, and high specific surface area of the nano-doped-TiO2 photocatalysts depends on the presence of various dopants in the photocatalysts. The majority of the dopants have the potential to improve the photocatalytic efficiency of nano-doped-TiO2 in the degradation of organic pollutants. The photocatalytic degradation of organic compounds depends on the calcination temperature of the prepared doped TiO2, initial reactant concentration, dosage of doped TiO2, and dopant doping concentration.

Abstract
A novel nanoscale photocatalyst CNTs/P-TiO(2) was successfully prepared by hydrothermal method. The morphology and the physicochemical properties of the prepared samples were investigated using TEM, XPS, XRD, BET, FTIR, TG-DSC and UV-vis DRS spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by degradation of methyl orange (MO) dye. The results demonstrated that CNTs/P-TiO(2) nanoparticles could effectively photodegrade MO not only under UV irradiation but also under visible-light (VL) irradiation. The MO degradation performance on CNTs/P-TiO(2) was superior to that of the commercial P25. The optimal mass ratio of CNTs to P-TiO(2) in the nanocomposite catalyst was 5:100. The synergetic effect was discussed in terms of different roles played by phosphorus doping and introducing CNTs into the composite catalysts.
