Abstract
Nowadays, NOR-containing wastewater has placed huge pressure on global ecology. In this study, a chemically-modified chitosan-based polymer was cross-linked with magnetite to prepare a novel magnetic composite adsorbent named Fe3O4/CS-P(AM-SSS) for norfloxacin (NOR) removal. The preparation conditions were optimized by single factor experiments and response surface methodology. A series of characterization analyses were carried out on the morphology, structure, and properties of Fe3O4/CS-P(AM-SSS), verifying that Fe3O4/CS-P(AM-SSS) was successfully prepared. Batch adsorption experiments showed that NOR was efficiently removed by Fe3O4/CS-P(AM-SSS), with a broad pH applicability of 3-10, short adsorption equilibrium time of 60 min, maximum adsorption capacity of 268.79 mg/g, and high regeneration rate of 86% after eight adsorption-desorption cycles. Due to the three-dimensional network structure and abundant functional groups provided by modified chitosan polymer, the superior adsorption capability of Fe3O4/CS-P(AM-SSS) was achieved through electrostatic interaction, π-π stacking, hydrophobic interaction, and hydrogen bonding. Adsorption process was exothermic and well fitted by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir isothermal model. The presence of cations had a slight inhibitory effect on NOR adsorption, while humic acid nearly had no effect. In model swine wastewater, 90.3% NOR was removed by Fe3O4/CS-P(AM-SSS). Therefore, with these superior characteristics, Fe3O4/CS-P(AM-SSS) was expected to be an ideal material for treating NOR-containing wastewater in the future.

Abstract
In this paper, the novel metal-organic framework @molecularly imprinted polymers were prepared and applied in extracting N-nitrosamines from salted vegetables. The imprinted polymers were coated on the surface of MIL-101 using multi-dummy template molecules (5-nonanol, benzhydrol and N-formylpyrrolidine). The characterization and adsorbing experiments showed that the hybrid imprinted polymers presented spherical particles with typically core-shell structure, and exhibited high adsorption capacity (maximum capacity: 46.85 mg/g) and fast equilibrium rate (only 5 min) for N-nitrosamines. Various parameters (sample loading solvent, pH, washing solvent, elution solvent and elution volume) affecting solid-phase extraction were optimized. Under the optimum conditions, the solid-phase extraction process based on the hybrid polymers combined with high performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detection method was established and applied to analyze N-nitrosamines in different salted vegetables. The results showed that the developed method produced the linear relationship between the peak areas versus the N-nitrosamines concentrations of 0.2-10 µg/g with limit of detections from 20.6 to 76.1 ng/g. The spiked recovery of N-nitrosamines in the salted vegetable samples was in the range of 66-100.5 % with relative standard deviation from 0.1 to 3.4 %. Those results demonstrated that the established method was sensitive and efficient for directly enriching and analyzing trace N-nitrosamines in salted vegetables.

Abstract
Irrational use of fluoroquinolones (FQs) can lead to allergic reactions, adverse reactions to the heart and damage of the liver; thus, it is of great significance to establish rapid, sensitive and accurate detection methods for FQs. Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) with specific structures synthesized by molecular imprinting technology (MIT) are widely used for the detection of FQs due to their high specificity, high sensitivity and stable performance. Recently, new functional nanomaterials with different morphologies and sizes, which can provide rich sites for surface chemical reactions, have attracted more and more attention of the researchers. Thus, the application status and development prospects of MIT based on new nanomaterials in the adsorption and detection of FQs were summarized in this study, providing a theoretical basis and technical guarantee for the development of new and efficient food safety analysis strategies based on MIPs.

Abstract
Methyl mercaptan (MM) is a typical malodorous gas and low-concentration MM makes human uncomfortable. Adsorption is applied in industry to remove MM. However, adsorptive-site agglomeration results in that adsorbent is not fully utilized. In this work, pore size and unsaturated-site amount of Cu-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) were regulated by using different ligands to increase adsorptive-site accessibility for MM. As a result, when Cu2+ sites were imbedded in MOFs network, these sites were inaccessible for MM; when Cu2+ sites were occupied by none-network organics, these sites were accessible for MM after simple activation; when Cu2+ sites were occupied by water, these sites were the most effective for MM removal among above site species. Furthermore, with the increase of bonding sites in ligands, channel pore size of MOFs was increased. Both pore size and unsaturated-site amount were important to MM removal. When above MOFs were used in purification of ultra-low-concentration MM, the regulated MOFs with a big pore size (11 and 5 Å) and water-occupied sites showed a best removal capacity of 160.3 mg g-1. The main result of this work is in favor of understanding structure-efficiency relationship in MOFs. This work also helps to develop effective adsorbents for ultra-low-concentration pollutants.

Abstract
The release of pharmaceuticals into the environment induces adverse effects on the metabolism of humans and other living species, calling for advanced remediation methods. Conventional removal methods are often non-selective and cause secondary contamination. These issues may be partly solved by the use of recently-developped adsorbents such as molecularly imprinted polymers. Here we review the synthesis and application of molecularly imprinted polymers for removing pharmaceuticals in water. Molecularly imprinted polymers are synthesized via several multiple-step polymerization methods. Molecularly imprinted polymers are potent adsorbents at the laboratory scale, yet their efficiency is limited by template leakage and polymer quality. Adsorption performance of multi-templated molecularly imprinted polymers depends on the design of wastewater treatment plants, pharmaceutical consumption patterns and the population serviced by these wastewater treatment plants.
