Abstract
Vanillin plays an important role not only in food and flavouring, but also as a platform compound for the synthesis of other valuable products, mainly derived from the oxidative decarboxylation of petroleum-based guaiacol production. In order to alleviate the problem of collapsing oil resources, the preparation of vanillin from lignin has become a good option from the perspective of environmental sustainability, but it is still not optimistic in terms of vanillin production. Currently, catalytic oxidative depolymerization of lignin for the preparation of vanillin is the main development trend. This paper mainly reviews four ways of preparing vanillin from lignin base: alkaline (catalytic) oxidation, electrochemical (catalytic) oxidation, Fenton (catalytic) oxidation and photo (catalytic) oxidative degradation of lignin. In this work, the working principles, influencing factors, vanillin yields obtained, respective advantages and disadvantages and the development trends of the four methods are systematically summarized, and finally, several methods for the separation and purification of lignin-based vanillin are briefly reviewed.

Abstract
The first report of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) was released in 2003 and was identified as a new member of ionic liquid (IL), involving innovative chemical and physical characteristics. Using green solvent technology concerning economical, practical, and environmental aspects, DESs open the window for sustainable development of nanomaterial fabrication. The DESs assist in different fabrication processes and design nanostructures with specific morphology and properties by tunable reaction conditions. Using DESs in synthesis reactions can reduce the required high temperature and pressure conditions for decreasing energy consumption and the risk of environmental contamination. This review paper provides the recent applications and advances in the design strategy of DESs for the green synthesis of nanomaterials. The strategy and application of DESs in wet-chemical processes, nanosize reticular material fabrication, electrodeposition/electrochemical synthesis of nanostructures, electroless deposition, DESs based nano-catalytic and nanofluidic systems are discussed and highlighted in this review.

Numerical Analysis of Heat Transfer Enhancement Due to Nanoparticles under the Magnetic Field in a Solar-Driven Hydrothermal Pretreatment System. Processes (Basel) 2022. Abstract
Solar-driven hydrothermal pretreatment is an efficient approach for the pretreatment of microalgae biomass for biofuel production. In order to enhance the heat transfer, the magnetic fields effects on flow and heat transfer of nanofluids were investigated in a three-dimensional circular pipe. The magnetic fields were applied in different directions and magnetic field intensities to the flow. In this paper, Finite Volume Method was used to simulate flow and heat transfer of nanofluids under a magnetic field, and the Discrete Phase Model was selected to calculate two-phase flow, which was water mixed with metal nanoparticles. The research was also carried out with the various physical properties of nanoparticles, including the volume share of nanoparticles, particle diameter, and particle types. When the magnetic fields were applied along the X, Y, and Z directions and the intensity of magnetic fields was 0.5 T, the heat transfer coefficients of Cu-H2O nanofluids flow were increased evenly by 9.17%, 10.28%, and 10.32%, respectively. When the magnetic field was applied, the heat transfer coefficients and the Nusselt numbers were both increased with the increment of intensities of the magnetic field.
