Abstract
The coordination of therapeutically interesting designed complexes of stoichiometry [ML(Met)Cl2] [where M=Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Mn(II) and Zn(II), L=benzylidene-4-aminoantipyrine and Met=methionine] has been ascertained on the basis of physicochemical techniques. Their interaction with CT DNA reveals that they are good intercalators. The anticancer mechanism of our complexes is documented from their enhanced DNA splitting personalities under physiological conditions. To reveal the chemotherapeutic action of these complexes, we explored the inflammatory response, analgesic and antioxidant activities. Moreover, all the complexes show good antimicrobial activity against few bacterial and fungal strains. Our study has identified the mechanism of action of these complexes on inhibiting tumor cells and suggested that they have great potential as novel anticancer agents.

Abstract
A novel series of copper(II) and palladium(II) with 4-derivatives benzaldehyde pyrazolone (L(n)) were synthesized. The mixed ligand complexes were prepared by using 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen) as second ligand. The structure of these complexes was identified and confirm by elemental analysis, molar conductivity, UV-Vis, IR and (1)H NMR spectroscopy and magnetic moment measurements as well as thermal analysis. The ligand behaves as a neutral bidentate ligand through ON donor sites. ESR spectra show the simultaneous presence of a planar trans and a nearly planar cis isomers in the 1:2 ratio for all N,O complexes [Cu(L(n))(2)]Cl(2)⋅2H(2)O. Schiff bases (L(n)) were tested against bacterial species; namely two Gram positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus) and two Gram negative bacteria (Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae) and fungal species (Aspergillus niger, Fusarium oxysporium, Penicillium italicum and Alternaria alternata). The tested compounds have antibacterial activity against S. aureus, B. cereus and K. pneumoniae.

Abstract
The mixed ligand mononuclear complex [Mn(bipy)(HPMFP)(OAc)]ClO(4) was synthesized by reaction of Mn(OAc)(3)·2H(2)O with HPMFP and 2,2'-bipyridyl. The corresponding Schiff base complexes were prepared by condensation of [Mn(bipy)(HPMFP)(OAc)]ClO(4) with ethylenediamine, ethanolamine and glycine (where HPMFP=1-phenyl-3methyl-4-formyl-2-pyrazolin-5one, bipy=2,2'-bipyridyl). All the compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, conductometry measurements and (1)H and (13)C NMR, FT-IR, mass spectrometry. Electronic spectral and magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate square pyramidal geometry around manganese(III) ion. The thermal stabilities, activation energy E*, entropy change ΔS*, enthalpy change ΔH* and heat capacity of thermal degradation for these complexes were determined by TGA and DSC. The in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activity of four coordination compounds and ligand HPMFP were investigated. In vitro activates of Bacillus subtillis (MTCC-619), Staphylococcus aureus (MTCC-96), Escherichia coli (MTCC-722) and Klebsiella pneumonia (MTCC-109) bacteria and the fungus Candida albicans (ATCC-90028) were determined. All the compounds showed good antimicrobial activity. The antimicrobial activities increased as formation of Schiff base.

Abstract
The title compound, C(25)H(19)N(3)O(2), crystallizes as discrete mol-ecules which are well ordered through one intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond. Structural analysis indicates that the mol-ecules exist as the amine-one form.

Abstract
N-(4-nitrobenzylidene)-o-fluoroamine (1) and N-(3-nitrobenzylidene)-p-fluoroamine (2) have been synthesized. The crystal structures of both compounds have been defined by X-ray diffraction analysis, and characterized by FT-IR and UV-visible instrumental methods. The recorded spectrum by UV-visible spectroscopy for the investigated compounds show good transparency in the visible region, and have solvatochromic behavior in the UV region, implying nonzero microscopic first hyperpolarizability. We also report ab initio quantum chemical calculations of the electric dipole moments (mu) and the first hyperpolarizabilities (beta) of the studied compounds. Our results suggest that the investigated ligands might have microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with nonzero values.

Abstract
A new photochromic compound 1,3-diphenyl-4-(4'-fluro)benzal-5-pyrazolone-4-ethyl thiosemicarbazone (DP4FBP-ETSC) was synthesized by direct condensation of 1,3-diphenyl-5-pyrazolone with N4-ethyl thiosemicarbazide. The product was characterized by elemental analysis, IR and 1H NMR spectra. The photochromic properties of the compound were studied using time-dependent fluorescence emission spectra, the UV-vis reflection spectra in the solid state and the UV-vis absorption spectroscopy in liquid. The reaction rate constant of compound was also analyzed. The results show that DP4FBP-ETSC can perform photochromism.
