Abstract
New tranexamic acid (TXA) complexes of ferric(III), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zirconium(IV) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis (CHN), conductimetric (Λ), magnetic susceptibility investigations (μeff), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR), ultraviolet visible (UV-vis.), optical band gap energy (Eg) and thermal studies (TG/DTG and DTA). TXA complexes were established in 1 : 2 (metal: ligand) stoichiometric ratio according to CHN data. Based on FT-IR and 1H-NMR data the disappeared of the carboxylic proton supported the deprotonating of TXA and linked to metal ions via the carboxylate group's oxygen atom as a bidentate ligand. UV-visible spectra and magnetic moment demonstrated that all chelates have geometric octahedral structures. Eg values indicated that our complexes are more electro conductive. DTA revealed presence of water molecules in inner and outer spheres of the complexes. DTA results showed that endothermic and exothermic peaks were identified in the degradation mechanisms. The ligand and metal complexes were investigated for their antimicrobial and herbicidal efficacy. The Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes showed antimicrobial activity against some tested species. The obtained results showed a promising herbicidal effect of TXA ligand and its metal complexes particularly copper and zirconium against the three tested plants.

Abstract
Toward multifunctionality, including antimicrobial and optoelectronic applications, herein, we reported the synthesis of a novel Ag(I) complex with 3-oxo-3-phenyl-2-(2-phenylhydrazono)propanal-based ligands including 3-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-[2-(4-nitrophenyl)hydrazono]-3-oxopropanal (named as "4A"), 3-(4-chlorophenyl)-2-[2-(4-methylphenyl)hydrazono]-3-oxopropanal (named as "6A"), and 3-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-oxo-2-(2-phenylhydrazono)propanal (named as "9A"). The synthesized compounds were characterized through FTIR, 1H NMR, and density functional theory (DFT). The morphological features and thermal stability were evaluated through transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and TG/DTA analysis. The antimicrobial activity of the synthesized Ag complexes was tested against various pathogens, including Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumonia), Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus mutans), and fungi (Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger). Results show that the synthesized complexes (Ag(4A), Ag(6A), and Ag(9A)) possess promising antimicrobial efficacy against various pathogens and are in good competition with several standard drugs as well. On the other hand, the optoelectronic features such as absorbance, band gap, and Urbach energy were examined by measuring the absorbance using a UV-vis spectrophotometer. The values of the band gap reflected the semiconducting nature of these complexes. The complexation with Ag resulted in a lowering band gap to match the apex of the solar spectrum. Such low band gap values are preferable for optoelectronic applications like dye-sensitized solar cells, photodiodes, and photocatalysis.

Abstract
Through the condensation of isatin (indoline-2, 3-dione) and aniline in a 1:1 ratio, a Schiff base ligand was synthesized and characterized via (1H-NMR, mass, IR, UV-Vis) spectra. Elemental analyses, spectroscopy (1H-NMR, mass, UV-Vis), magnetic susceptibility, molar conductivity, mass spectra, scanning electron microscope (SEM), and thermal analysis have all been used to characterize a series of Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) metal complexes derived from the titled ligand. The metal-to-ligand ratio is 1:1, according to the analytical data. The Schiff base ligand displayed bidentate behavior with NO coordination sites when it bonded to metal ions, as seen by the IR spectra. The magnetic moment measurement and UV-Vis spectral investigation showed the octahedral geometry of the Cr(III), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) complexes, whereas they suggested the tetrahedral geometry of the Mn(II), Cu(II), and Cd(II) complexes. The thermal analysis study confirmed the presence of both hydrated and coordinated water molecules in all the compounds, except for the Mn(II) complex, and showed that the complexes decomposed in three or five decomposition steps leaving the corresponding metal oxide as a residue. The ligand and its metal complexes' antibacterial efficacy were evaluated. The findings showed that the metal complexes had stronger antibacterial properties than the ligand alone. The ligand and its metal complexes' anticancer properties were also investigated. A DFT investigation is also reported to gather information regarding the electronic features of the ligand and its metal complexes. Finally, drug-likeness and ADME characteristics were also calculated as parameters.

Abstract
A major threat to public health worldwide is that the antimicrobial activity of the established drugs is constantly reduced due to the resistance that bacteria develop throughout the years. Some transition metal complexes show higher antibacterial activity against several bacteria compared to those of clinically used antibiotics. Novel classes of molecules provide new challenges and seem promising to solve the crisis that the overuse of antibiotics has led over the last years. This review discusses the challenges of chromium-based metallodrugs as antimicrobial agents. In particular, the synthetic routes, the structural characteristics, as well as the antimicrobial activity of 32 chromium (III) complexes have been presented.

Abstract
A series of N-benzoylated mononuclear copper(II) complexes of the type [Cu(L1-6)Cl2] (1-6), where L1= ethyl 4-benzoyl-5-methyl-7-aryl-4,7-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate, L2= ethyl 4-(4-nitrobenzoyl)-5-methyl-7-aryl-4,7-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate, L3 = ethyl 4-benzoyl-5-methyl-7-(4-methoxyphenyl)-4,7-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate, L4 = ethyl 4-(4-nitrobenzoyl)-5-methyl-7-(4-methoxyphenyl)-4,7-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate, L5 = ethyl 4-benzoyl-5-methyl-7-(4-chlorophenyl)-4,7-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate and L6 = ethyl 4-(4-nitrobenzoyl)-5-methyl-7-(4-chlorophenyl)-4,7-dihydrotetrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-6-carboxylate have been synthesized and characterized by spectral methods. Electron paramagnetic resonance spectra of complexes show four lines, characteristic of square planar geometry. The binding studies of the complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) revealed groove mode of binding, which were further supported by molecular docking studies. Gel electrophoresis experiments demonstrated the ability of the complexes to cleave plasmid DNA in the absence of activators. Further, the cytotoxicity activity of the complexes were examined on three cancerous cell lines (lung (A549), cervical (HeLa) and colon (HCT-15)), and on two normal cells (human embryonic kidney (HEK) and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC)) by MTT assay.

Abstract
Studying the effect of a magnetic field on oligonucleotide DNA can provide a novel DNA manipulation technique for potential application in bioengineering and medicine. In this work, the optical and electrochemical response of a 100 bases oligonucleotides DNA, cytosine-guanine (CG100), is investigated via exposure to different magnetic fields (250, 500, 750, and 1000 mT). As a result of the optical response of CG100 to the magnetic field, the ultra-violet-visible spectrum indicated a slight variation in the band gap of CG100 of about 0.3 eV. Raman spectroscopy showed a significant deviation in hydrogen and phosphate bonds’ vibration after exposure to the magnetic field. Oligonucleotide DNA mobility was investigated in the external electric field using the gel electrophoresis technique, which revealed a small decrease in the migration of CG100 after exposure to the magnetic field.

Abstract
In nickel electrolyte, Ag(I) was present at trace level concentration (10-20 mg L(-1)) and existed in the form of AgCli(1-i) coordination anion, instead of Ag(+) positive ion usually in several sources. In the present study, TSC-NH3-OCS adsorbent based on natural corn stalk modified by ammonia (NH3)-thiosemicarbazide (TSC) was synthesized and characterized using some instrumental techniques. The TSC-NH3-OCS adsorbent could selectively adsorb Ag(I) as AgCl(i)(1-i) coordination anion from the Ag(I)-Cu(II)-Ni(II) simulate nickel electrolyte, especially in the case of the very high levels of Cu(II) and Ni(II), which significantly outperforms the commercial available resins. The adsorption mechanism was believed to be electrostatic interaction of the protonated bands of AgCl4(3-) with protonated thiol form of the thioamide units by FTIR and XPS analysis. The maximum adsorption capacity in the Ag(I) single and Ag(I)-Cu(II)-Ni(II) ternary system were obtained and calculated as 153.54 and 46.69 mg g(-1), respectively. The reasons that the maximum adsorption capacity of AgCl(i)(1-i) from the single and ternary system varied widely could be explained by adsorption kinetic and thermodynamic results. In addition, three successive sorption/desorption cycle runs from ternary system were performed which indicated that the TSC-NH3-OCS adsorbent has a good performance for recovery Ag(I) from simulate nickel electrolyte.
