Abstract
A novel drug to treat SARS-CoV-2 infections and hydroxyl chloroquine analogue, 1-(2,3-dihydrobenzo[b][1,4]dioxin-6-yl)-2-(furan-2-yl)-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole (DDFDI) compound has been synthesized in one pot reaction. The novel compound DDFDI had been characterized by FT-IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectral techniques. The geometrical structure was optimized by density functional theory (DFT) method at B3LYP/6-31G (d, p) as the basis set. The smaller energy value provides the higher reactivity of DDFDI compound than hydroxyl chloroquine and was corrected by high electrophilic and low nucleophilic reactions. The stability and charge delocalization of the molecule were also considered by natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis. The HOMO-LUMO energies describe the charge transfer which takes place within the molecule. Molecular electrostatic potential has also been analysed. Drug likeness and oral activity have been carried out based on Lipinski's rule of five. Molecular docking studies are implemented to analyse the binding energy of the DDFDI compound against Covid-19/6W41, COVID-19/6WCF, COVID-19/6Y84 and COVID-19/6W4B receptors and found to be considered as a better antiviral agents.

Abstract
Oxidative stress has been incriminated in the physiopathology of many diseases, such as diabetes, cancer, atherosclerosis, and cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. There is a great interest in developing new antioxidants that could be useful for preventing and treating conditions for which oxidative stress is suggested as the root cause. The thiazolidine-2,4-dione derivatives have been reported to possess various pharmacological activities and the phenol moiety is known as a pharmacophore in many naturally occurring and synthetic antioxidants. Twelve new phenolic derivatives of thiazolidine-2,4-dione were synthesized and physicochemically characterized. The antioxidant capacity of the synthesized compounds was assessed through several in vitro antiradical, electron transfer, and Fe2+ chelation assays. The top polyphenolic compounds 5f and 5l acted as potent antiradical and electron donors, with activity comparable to the reference antioxidants used. The ferrous ion chelation capacity of the newly synthesized compounds was modest. Several quantum descriptors were calculated in order to evaluate their influence on the antioxidant and antiradical properties of the compounds and the chemoselectivity of the radical generation reactions has been evaluated. The correlation with the energetic level of the frontier orbitals partially explained the antioxidant activity, whereas a better correlation was found while evaluating the O–H bond dissociation energy of the phenolic groups.

Abstract
The molecular complexes of 2-amino-1H-benzimidazolium 2-hydroxybenzoate (2ABHB) and 2-amino-1H-benzimidazolium pyridine 2-carboxylate (2ABP2C) were synthesised from a donor 2-aminobenzimidazole (2AB), and acceptors, 2-hydroxybenzoate (2HB) and pyridine 2-carboxylic acid (P2C) respectively. The brown colour single crystals were successfully grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique. The densities of grown crystals 2ABHB and 2ABP2C were measured by floatation method using carbon tetrachloride and xylene as solvents. The single crystal X-ray diffraction reveals the molecular structures of compounds 2ABHB and 2ABP2C. Both the structures contain positively charged 2-aminobenzimidazolium cation, 2ABHB contains negatively charged 2-hydroxybenzoate anion and 2ABP2C contains pyridine 2 carboxylic acid anions. 1H and 13C NMR spectral analyses were used to predict the presence of proton and carbon in the title compounds. The FTIR and Raman spectra have been recorded to detect the vibrational modes of functional groups present in the 2ABHB and 2ABP2C compounds. The proton transfer between the cation and anion was confirmed by UV-Vis spectra of both compounds. For both the compounds, thermal behaviour and stability of the crystals were studied using thermogravimetric and differential thermal analyses technique respectively. Further, the anti-bacterial activity of 2ABHB and 2ABP2C complex against Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumonia, Pseudomonas eruginos and E. coli pathogens were investigated.

Abstract
The title compound, C24H21ClN2O, crystallizes with two unique mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. In each mol-ecule, the central imidazole ring is substituted at the 2-, 4- and 5-positions by benzene rings. The 2-substituted ring carries a Cl atom at the 4-position. One of the imidazole N atoms in each mol-ecule has a propan-2-ol substituent. In the crystal, a series of O-H⋯N, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, augmented by several C-H⋯π(ring) inter-actions, generate a three-dimensional network of mol-ecules stacked along the a-axis direction.
