Abstract
A novel fluorescent chemosensor based on trimesoyl chloride-rhodamine (TR) was successfully synthesized. Rising chromogenic and fluorogenic spectral enhancements could be observed in trimesoyl chloride-rhodamine (TR) probes when Hg2+ and Fe3+ were added, respectively. TR has shown selectivity for Hg2+ and Fe3+ with high sensitivity due to metal ion complexation induced photophysical "turn-on" signaling responses. The detection limit towards Hg2+ was 2.46 × 10-8 M as determined by the 3σ method. At the same time, fluorogenic spectral enhancements were observed in TR, which exhibits a superior sensitive and selective recognition towards Fe3+ with 4.11 × 10-8 M of the detection limit. The test strips were used for colorimetric and simple detection towards Hg2+, which might finally enable the advancement of the Hg2+ sensor in the field of on-site detection.

Abstract
A newly synthesized compound, 5-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4- carboxylic acid (MPC) was analyzed for its quantum chemical parameters and theoretical spectrum by computational chemistry. The calculated spectrum was in accord with the experimental measurements in a great degree. Then MPC was successfully designed and synthesized to a novel rhodamine B derivative RMPC. The RMPC exhibited about a 4000-fold increase in fluorescence intensity in the presence of Hg2+ ions over most other competitive metal ions. The triazole appended colorless chemodosimeter RMPC turns to pink upon the complex formation only with Hg2+ ions as a 1: 2 M ratio and enables naked-eye detection. The coordination mechanism of turning on/off fluorescence for Hg2+ ions were well proposed by explaining Hg2+ inducing the ring-opened rhodamine B moiety. The fluorescence imaging experiments of Hg2+ in HeLa cell demonstrated that the probe was labeled and it could be used in biological systems.

Abstract
A selective diaminomaleonitrile-based fluorescent probe for Al3+(L) has been synthesized and characterized. The sensing behavior of L towards different metal ions was investigated by fluorescent spectra and competition experiment. The results showed that L exhibited a dual channel emission (λem 522 & 558 nm) with yellow fluorescence in the presence of Al3+ over other metal ions in EtOH solution. The probe L was bound to Al3+ in a 1:2 stoichiometric manner as supported by Job's plot analysis. The binding constant was 9.55 × 108 M-2 with the detection limit of 10.3 nM. The turn-on response was attributed to the inhibition of PET and CN isomerization after binding with Al3+ while the dual emissions were due to ESIPT and ICT processes. In addition, the application of L for imaging Al3+ in living Hela cells was achieved.

Abstract
A novel fluorescence probe L2 based on coumarin has been designed and synthesized. The probe L2 can be used for relay recognition of metal ions Al3+ and anion F- in the aqueous HEPES buffer (0.05 M, pH = 7.4), and build a OFF-ON-OFF detection system. The probe showed high selectivity and sensitivity to target ions in the process of relay recognition, and the corresponding detection limit could be as low as 0.014 μM (Al3+) and 0.03 μM (F-). Besides, the geometry optimizations of probe L2 and [L2 + Al3+] complex were carried out using the Gaussian 16 program based on DFT, and the identification mechanism of the probe was also discussed by the mass spectrometry and theoretical calculations. Moreover, the probe has also been successfully applied to detection of target ions in living cells.

Abstract
Three new probes, named, [Cu(L1)2]Cl2 (C1), [Cu(L2)2]Cl2 (C2) and [Cu(L3)2]Cl2 (C3) were synthesized and well characterized. The probes C1, C2 and C3 were successfully achieved for the efficient detection of PO43- as turn-on fluorescence chemosensors in DMSO/H2O (v:v = 2:8, Tris-HCl pH = 7.20). The limit of detection (LOD) of probes C1, C2 or C3 for PO43- could be as low as 0.029 μM, 0.048 μM, 0.079 μM, respectively, which were effectively applied for the determination of the PO43- concentration in environmental water of swimming pool. What's more, the binding constant between probes C1, C2, C3 and PO43- are estimated to be 3.11 × 107 M-1 (R2 = 0.9992), 1.84 × 107 M-1 (R2 = 0.9956), 1.93 × 107 M-1 (R2 = 0.9976), respectively. The proposed mechanism for the "on-off-on" fluorescence response was confirmed by ESI-MS and fluorescence spectrum. Moreover, the membrane-permeable probe C1 was successfully demonstrated in monitoring of PO43- in cultured HepG2 cells.

Abstract
A novel fluorescent sensor, 1-((2-hydroxynaphthalen-1-yl)methylene)urea (ocn) has been designed and applied as a highly selective and sensitive fluorescent probe for recognition of Al3+ in Tris-HCl (pH = 7.20) solution. The probe ocn exhibits an excellent selectivity to Al3+ over other examined metal ions, anions and amino acids with a prominent fluorescence 'turn-on' at 438 nm. ocn binds to Al3+ with a 2:1 binding stoichiometry and the detection limit was 0.3 μM. Furthermore, its capability of biological application was evaluated and the results showed that the sensor could be used to detect Al3+ in living cells.
