Abstract
OBJECTIVE Cutaneous ulcers induced by metastasis present a challenging clinical issue, often resistant to conventional dressing change interventions. In this case, we demonstrates the efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in managing ruptured tumors. CASE PRESENTATION We present a case study of a 40-year-old Chinese male patient diagnosed with advanced tonsillar squamous cell carcinoma with cervical lymph node metastasis and cutaneous ulceration. Despite nearly six months of conventional dressing treatment yielding minimal improvement, significant healing of the ulcerated surface of the neck metastasis was observed after approximately two months of decoction therapy. The cancerous lesion exhibited a reduction of nearly 90 %, with concomitant alleviation of secondly symptoms such as cold intolerance, excessive sweating, anxiety and depression. CONCLUSIONS In this case, we introduces Traditional Chinese Medicine may be an effective alternative therapy for the treatment of cancer-related disease. And it may also be an optional therapeutic approach for healthcare practitioners with cutaneous carcinoma ulceration.

Abstract
The incidence of human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) is rising in the West, but little is known in Asia. This study elucidated changes in the incidence and HPV-positive portion of OPSCC in Hong Kong. Data from population-based cancer registry were used to analyze the incidence of OPSCC in association with other head and neck cancers. Archived tumor tissues were tested for HPV. From 1986 to 2020, there was a marked decrease in the incidence of nasopharyngeal and laryngeal cancers, but a persistent increase in OPSCC from 36 cases in 1986 to 116 cases in 2020. The average positive rate for high-risk HPV was 36.1% (112/310) among OPSCC diagnosed in 2010-2020. The HPV-positive rate in recent years was significantly higher than earlier cases (tonsil SCC: 64.7% (55/85) in 2016-2020 vs. 40.4% (19/47) in 2010-2015, p = 0.007). Patients with HPV-positive tonsil cancers were significantly younger than those negative (mean [SD]: 58.9 [9.9] vs. 64.3 [13.3] years, p = 0.006), but no significant difference was observed between genders. A persistent increase in the incidence of oropharyngeal cancer over the last few decades was observed in Hong Kong, which can be explained by the remarkable increase in HPV-positive tonsil cancers.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study compared prevalence, incidence, mortality rates, treatment costs, and risk factors for oral and oropharyngeal cancer (OC/OPC) between two large United States adult cohorts in 2012-2019. METHODS Medicaid and commercial claims data came from the IBM Watson Health MarketScan Database. Logistic regression analyses estimated incidence and risk factors for OC/OPC. Mortality was calculated by merging deceased individuals' files with those of the existing cancer cohort. Summing costs of outpatient and inpatient services determined costs. RESULTS Prevalence of OC/OPC in Medicaid enrollees decreased each year (129.8 cases per 100,000 enrollees in 2012 to 88.5 in 2019); commercial enrollees showed a lower, more stable prevalence (64.7 per 100,000 in 2012 and 2019). Incidence trended downward in both cohorts, with higher incidence in the Medicaid (51.4-37.6 cases per 100,000) than the commercial cohort (31.9-31.0 per 100,000). Mortality rates decreased for Medicaid enrollees during 2012-2014 but increased in the commercial cohort. OC/OPC treatment costs were higher for commercial enrollees by $8.6 million during 2016-2019. OC/OPC incidence was higher among adults who were older, male, and white; used tobacco or alcohol; or had prior human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome diagnosis and lower among those who had seen a dentist the prior year. CONCLUSIONS Medicaid enrollees experienced higher OC/OPC incidence, prevalence, and mortality compared with commercially insured adults. Having seen a dentist within the prior year was associated with a lower risk of OC/OPC diagnosis. IMPACT Expanding Medicaid dental benefits may allow OC/OPC to be diagnosed at earlier stages through regular dental visits.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The human papillomavirus (HPV) is a risk factor for a subgroup of head and neck cancers (HNC). HPV-positive and HPV-negative HNC patients encompass heterogeneous groups regarding risk factors, sociodemographic and clinical characteristics, which may influence health-related quality of life (HRQL) differently. Since this has been sparsely studied, our study investigated the association between HPV status and HRQL in HNC survivors in Denmark. MATERIALS AND METHODS This cross-sectional study included 179 recurrence-free oropharyngeal and oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) survivors. HRQL was assessed on the EORTC QLQ-C30 and QLQ-H&N35 questionnaires. Linear and logistic regression models were adjusted for sociodemographic, clinical and lifestyle factors. RESULTS Most unadjusted results showed better HRQL among HPV-positive (n = 119) compared to HPV-negative (n = 60) OSCC survivors (average 18 months since diagnosis). After adjustments, the HPV-positive survivors reported higher role functioning (mean difference [MD] 9.2, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.1 to -18.4), and fewer problems with speech (MD -9.0, 95% CI -18.0 to -0.1), sexuality (MD -21.9, 95% CI -38.0 to -5.9) and opening mouth (MD -13.7, 95% CI -26.6 to -0.8) compared to HPV-negative survivors. CONCLUSION Our findings support that HPV-positive OSCC survivors experience better HRQL than HPV-negative survivors. However, results indicate that sociodemographic, clinical and lifestyle factors explain most of the association between HPV status and HRQL. Findings suggest increased focus on the HPV-negative OSCC survivors with deteriorated HRQL in rehabilitation programs and future research to investigate the long-term effects of treatment among HPV-positive OSCC survivors who may develop symptoms later in survivorship.

Abstract
Cancers of the oropharyngeal tissues, oesophagus, stomach, and colorectum are amongst the most common causes of death from cancer throughout the world. Higher consumption of fruits and vegetables is thought to be protective, and cruciferous vegetables are of particular interest because of their unique role as a source of biologically active glucosinolate breakdown products. A literature review of primary studies and meta-analyses indicates that higher consumption of cruciferous vegetables probably reduces the risk of colorectal and gastric cancers by approximately 8% and 19%, respectively. Some studies support the hypothesis that the protective effect against colorectal cancer is modified by genetic polymorphisms of genes regulating the expression of enzymes of the glutathione S-transferase family, but due to contradictory findings the evidence is currently inconclusive. Despite these promising findings, future epidemiological research on the protective effects of cruciferous plants will depend critically upon accurate measurement of dietary exposure, both to the vegetables themselves, and to their active constituents. The development of sensitive chemical assays has facilitated the measurement of urinary excretion of isothiocyanate metabolites as an objective biomarker of intake, but sampling strategies need to be optimized in order to assess long-term exposures at the population level.

Abstract
Introduction Scientific literature suggests that human papillomavirus (HPV) infection may be associated with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). However, knowledge regarding HPV-OSCC link among oral health professionals (OHP) has been insufficient. So, the aim of this study was to assess the knowledge about HPV associated OSCC among OHP working in dental faculties in Malaysia. Methodology Ethical committee of the University approved this study. A validated, pre-tested questionnaire was sent electronically to 224 OHP. Questionnaire collected information regarding demography, knowledge about HPV-OSCC link, HPV vaccine, and willingness to educate patients about HPV OSCC link among the participants of this cross-sectional study. Data collected was analysed using "Stata/IC-13" and was summarised using descriptive statistics like frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Results Out of 179 participants, around 39% of the participant's opined virus was not a causative factor for OSCC. Around, 44% replied posterior portion of the tongue/oro-pharynx was the commonest site for HPV related OSCC, whereas 29% replied that lateral border of the tongue was the common site for HPV related OSCC. Forty one percent educated patients regarding HPV infection being a causative factor for OSCC. HPV vaccine can prevent OSCC was stated by 70% OHP. Only 12% were aware of the availability of HPV vaccine in Malaysia. Majority (99%), agreed that there is a need to offer continuing education programmes to dentists highlighting advances and preventive strategies in the fight against OSCC. Conclusion Substantial increase in awareness is required among OHP regarding HPV-OSCC link.

Abstract
Advances in research techniques have made it possible to map the microbial communities in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, where the majority of bacteria in the human body reside. Disturbances in these communities are referred to as dysbiosis and have been associated with GI cancers. Although dysbiosis is observed in several GI malignancies, the specific role of these changes has not been understood to the extent of Helicobacter pylori (HP) in gastric cancer (GC). This review will address the bacterial communities along the GI tract, from the oral cavity to the anal canal, particularly focusing on bacterial dysbiosis and carcinogenesis. Just as non-HP bacteria in the stomach may interact with HP in gastric carcinogenesis, the same may hold true for other GI tract malignancies, where an interplay between microbes in carcinogenesis seems conceivable, especially in colorectal cancer (CRC). In the last part of this review we will discuss the potential mechanisms of bacterial dysbiosis in GI carcinogenesis.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Human papilloma virus (HPV) is known to be associated with oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas (OPSCC) and may potentially play a vital role in tumor metastasis. The purpose of this study was to correlate HPV status of cervical lymph node metastases with their respective primary OPSCC tumor. METHODS Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue samples obtained from 34 patients with cervical lymph node metastases were analyzed with HPV 16 DNA polymerase chain reaction (PCR), p16 immunohistochemistry and HPV typing. The results were correlated with the HPV status and type found in the primary tumors of OPSCC. RESULTS Comparing HPV DNA status with p16 we found that 21 primary tumors and lymph node metastases were HPV positive (61.8%) and seven primary tumors and lymph node metastases were HPV negative (20.6%). Six patient samples differed when correlating the primary tumor and lymph node metastasis (17.6%). CONCLUSIONS In this study, HPV status in OPSCCs and their cervical lymph node metastases correlated in the vast majority of cases. However, HPV detection methods may have certain limitations resulting in varying degree of non-correlation. This should be taken into account when stratifying treatment in regard to HPV status.

Abstract
Gastrointestinal cancers are a global public health problem, which represent a vast majority of all cancer-caused deaths in both men and women. On the other hand, viral pathogens have been long implicated as etiological factors in the onset of certain human cancers, including gastrointestinal tumors. In this regard, Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), and John Cunningham Virus (JCV) have been more strongly suggested to be involved in gastrointestinal carcinogenesis; so that, the association of HPV with oropharyngeal and anal cancers and also the association of EBV with gastric cancer have been etiologically confirmed by epidemiological and experimental investigations. Although, the association of other viruses is less evident, but may rely on co-factors for their oncogenic roles. Therefore, to improve the prevention and treatment of these classes of cancer, their association with viral agents as potential risk factors should be investigated with care. In this respect, the present review has focused on the existing literature on the subject of viral involvement in gastrointestinal tumorgenesis, by covering and discussing various gastrointestinal cancers, corresponding viral agents and their oncogenic aspects and then summarizing evidences either supporting or rejecting a causal role of these pathogens in gastrointestinal malignancies.
