Abstract
A novel extra-long carbon-chain salamo-like fluorescent chemical probe DNS (named as 2,2'-[1,10-(decanedioxy)bis(nitromethyldyne)]dinaphthol) containing ten methylene groups was synthesized based on the 2-hydroxy-1-naphthylaldehyde unit. Research has shown that the fluorescent probe DNS can achieve efficient and selective recognition of CO32- anions, with a detection limit LOD=1.59 × 10-8 M. The binding constant Ka = 3.7 × 104 M-1 and quantification limit is as low as LOQ=4.31 × 10-8 M, respectively. The possible identification mechanism of the fluorescent chemosensor DNS was analyzed and studied through fluorescence titration and nuclear magnetic titration. The results showed that the fluorescence chemical sensor DNS is deprotonated by CO32- anions, enhancing its fluorescence and producing a ICT effect.

Abstract
In this study, two binuclear dioxido- and oxidoperoxido molybdenum (VI) complexes, [{MoVIO2}2(L)(H2O)2] 1 and [{MoVIO(O2)}2(L)(H2O)2] 2, were synthesized. Complex 1 was obtained through a 1:2 reaction of ligand I with MoO2(acac)2, while complex 2 was synthesized in situ by reacting MoO3 with H2O2 in a 1:2 ratio. The structures and characteristics of the complexes were examined employing several techniques such as elemental (CHN) analysis, spectroscopy (FT-IR, UV-Vis, 1H, and 13CNMR), and thermal study (TGA). SC-XRD analysis of complex 1a revealed that the molybdenum central atom adopts an octahedral geometry and is bonded to phenolic oxygen, enolate oxygen, and azomethine nitrogen atoms. Powder X-ray diffraction was used to determine the purity of the bulk material, and the results were compared to single crystal data. Computational calculations were performed using density functional theory (DFT) at the B3LYP/6-31G(d, p) level of theory for the ligand and the LANL2DZ level of theory for the complexes, yielding geometry optimized structures that were then employed in frequency and NMR-calculations. These theoretical findings were compared to the experimental results and showed a good correlation. Furthermore, the complexes exhibited peroxidase-like activity in the presence of hydrogen peroxide as evidenced by the oxidation of o-phenylenediamine and dopamine.

Abstract
Luminescent Zn(II) complexes that respond to external stimuli are of wide interest due to their potential applications. Schiff base with O,N,O-hydrazone shows excellent luminescence properties with multi-coordination sites for different coordination modes. In this work, three salicylaldehyde hydrazone Zn(II) complexes (1, 2a, 2b) were synthesized and their stimuli-responsive behaviors in different states were explored. Only complex 1 exhibits reversible and self-recoverable photochromic and photoluminescence properties in solution. This may be due to the configuration eversion and the excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) process. In the solid state, 2a has obvious mechanochromic luminescence property, which is caused by the destruction of intermolecular interactions and the transformation from crystalline state to amorphous state. 2a and 2b have delayed fluorescence properties due to effective halogen bond interactions in structures. 2a could undergo crystal-phase transformation into its polymorphous 2b by force/vapor stimulation. Interestingly, 2b shows photochromic property, which can be attributed to the electron transfer and generation of radicals induced by UV irradiation. Due to different conformations and coordination modes, the three Zn(II) complexes show different stimuli-responsive properties. This work presents the multi-stimuli-responsive behaviors of salicylaldehyde hydrazone Zn(II) complexes in different states and discusses the response mechanism in detail, which may provide new insights into the design of multi-stimuli-responsive materials.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are porous coordination polymers with interesting structural frameworks, properties, and a wide range of applications. A novel 3D cadmium(II)-carboxylate framework, CdMOF ([Cd2(L)(DMF)(H2O)2]n), was synthesized by the solvothermal method using a tetracarboxylic bridging linker having amide functional moieties. The CdMOF crystal structure exists in the form of a 3D layer structure. Based on the single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies, the supramolecular assembly of CdMOF is explored by Hirshfeld surface analysis. The voids and cavities analysis is performed to check the strength of the crystal packing in CdMOF. The CdMOF followed a multistage thermal degradation pattern in which the solvent molecules escaped around 200 °C and the structural framework remained stable till 230 °C. The main structural framework collapsed (>60 wt.%) into organic volatiles between 400–550 °C. The SEM morphology analyses revealed uniform wedge-shaped rectangular blocks with dimensions of 25–100 μm. The catalytic activity of CdMOF for the solvent and cocatalyst-free cycloaddition of CO2 into epichlorohydrin was successful with 100% selectivity. The current results revealed that this 3D CdMOF is more active than the previously reported CdMOFs and, more interestingly, without using a co-catalyst. The catalyst was easily recovered and reused, having the same performance.

Abstract
Ethyl 4-(4-fluorophenylamino)-2,6-bis(4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)-1-(4-fluoro-phenyl)-1,2,5,6-tetrahydropyridine-3-carboxylate (FTEAA) has been synthesized efficiently in an iodine-catalyzed five-component reaction of 4-fluoroaniline, 4-trifluoromethyl benzaldehyde, and ethyl acetoacetate in methanol at 55 °C for 12 h. Various spectro-analytical techniques such as 1H and 13C NMR and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy have validated the structure of FTEAA. Further confirmation of the structure of FTEAA has been established on the basis of single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The supramolecular assembly of FTEAA in terms of strong and comparatively weak noncovalent interactions is fully investigated by Hirshfeld surface analysis, the interaction energy between pairs of molecules, and energy frameworks. The void analysis is conducted to explore the strength and stability of the crystal structure. Furthermore, molecular docking analysis was computationally performed to see the potential intermolecular interactions between the selected proteins and FTEAA. The binding interaction energies are found to be -8.8 and -9.6 kcal/mol for the proteins MAO-B (PDB ID: 2V5Z) and MAO-A (PDB ID: 2Z5X), respectively. These reasonably good binding energies (more negative values) indicate the efficient associations between the FTEAA and target proteins. The proteins and FTEAA were also analyzed for intermolecular interactions. FTEAA and proteins interact in a variety of ways, like conventional hydrogen bonds, carbon-hydrogen bonds, alkyl, π-alkyl, and halide interactions.

Abstract
Two imine compounds named as (E)-2-(((3,4-dichlorophenyl)imino)methyl)phenol (DC2H) and (E)-4-(((2,4-dimethylphenyl)imino)methyl)phenol (DM4H) are synthesized, and their crystal structures are verified using the single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. The crystal structures of the compounds are compared with the closely related crystal structures using the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD). The crystal packing in terms of intermolecular interactions is fully explored by Hirshfeld surface analysis. Void analysis is carried out for both compounds to check the strength of the crystal packing. Furthermore, a state-of-the-art dual computational technique consisting of quantum chemical and molecular docking methods is used to shed light on the molecular structure, optoelectronic properties, and bioactivity of indigenously synthesized compounds. The optimized molecular geometries are compared with their counterpart experimental values. Based on previous reports of biofunctions of the indigenously synthesized imine derivatives, they are explored for their potential inhibition properties against two very crucial proteins (main protease (Mpro) and nonstructural protein 9 (NSP9)) of SARS-CoV-2. The calculated interaction energy values of DC2H and DM4H with Mpro are found to be -6.3 and -6.6 kcal/mol, respectively, and for NSP9, the calculated interaction energy value is found to be -6.5 kcal/mol. We believe that the current combined study through experiments and computational techniques will not only pique the interest of the broad scientific community but also evoke interest in their further in vitro and in vivo investigations.

Abstract
A novel Schiff base compound named as phenylmethanaminium (E)-4-((benzylimino)methyl)benzoate C7H10N+. C15H12NO2 - (A) is synthesized by the chemical reaction of benzylamine and 4-carboxybenzaldehyde in ethanol, and the structure of the titled compound is verified using the single-crystal X-ray diffraction technique. Structural investigation inferred that the crystal packing is mainly stabilized by N-H···O and comparatively weak C-H···O bonding between the cation and anion and further stabilized by weak C-H···π and C-O···π interactions. Hirshfeld surface analysis is employed to explore the noncovalent interactions that are responsible for crystal packing quantitatively. Furthermore, we have used state-of-the-art quantum chemical calculations to get comprehensive insights into the structure-optoelectronic property relationship for the entitled compound. The molecular geometry of compound A is optimized at the M06/6-311G* level of theory. The linear polarizability, third-order nonlinear optical (NLO) polarizability, total and partial density of states, and UV-visible spectrum are calculated through quantum chemical calculations. We believe that compound A is not only a new addition to crystallographic data but also possesses good optical and NLO properties for its potential use in lasers and frequency-converting applications.
