Abstract
Objective During in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) treatment, the reproductive endocrine regulatory mechanisms hold pivotal importance. Specifically, the serum estradiol (E 2) level during ovulation emerges as a critical factor influencing pregnancy outcomes. This retrospective study aimed to comprehensively compare two common clinical regimens based on the grouping of serum E 2 levels and the number of oocytes retrieved on the trigger day. Our objective was to evaluate the pregnancy outcomes in IVF-ET patients across different ovarian response groups, exploring the efficacy of the dual-trigger and single-trigger regimens to provide valuable insights for optimizing clinical strategies in the context of IVF-ET. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 2778 infertile patients who underwent ART (IVF/ICSI). Subsequently, a detailed statistical analysis was performed on 1032 patients following an antagonist regimen. Participants were categorized into single-trigger and dual-trigger groups based on real-world trigger protocols, considering different ovarian responses. Comprehensive statistical assessments were conducted on baseline characteristics, ovulation induction, and pregnancy outcomes. Results Baseline characteristics and cycle parameters among the three patient groups (high ovarian response, normal response, and poor response) exhibited no significant differences between the dual-trigger and single-trigger regimen groups. Despite the dual-trigger regimen utilizing a significantly lower HCG dose, no notable discrepancies were observed in laboratory results and pregnancy outcomes (embryo transfer rate, pregnancy rate, and live birth rate) for normal and high responders. Remarkably, E 2 levels were higher in the dual-trigger group compared to the single-trigger group. In high and normal responders, the dual-trigger regimen demonstrated increased oocyte counts and oocyte acquisition rates, coupled with decreased transfer cancellation rates attributed to ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). Intriguingly, patients with a poor ovarian response experienced no graft cancellations due to OHSS prevention in either group. Conclusion For patients with high and normal ovarian responses, the utilization of a dual-trigger regimen on the trigger day effectively mitigates the risk of OHSS. Our large sample study supports the substitutability of the dual-trigger regimen over the single-trigger regimen without compromising pregnancy outcomes. However, this conclusion is not applicable to patients with poor ovarian responses. The results of this study highlight the necessity of adopting a customized and individualized treatment approach that should be based on the patient's ovarian response. Additionally, recognizing the pivotal role of the endocrine environment in influencing pregnancy outcomes and the occurrence of OHSS, further exploration of the effects of different triggering regimens on endocrine parameters is warranted. Such investigations will contribute to enhancing the reproductive outcomes of IVF-ET technology.

Pregnancy and neonatal outcomes after long-term vitrification of blastocysts among 6,900 patients after their last live birth. Fertil Steril 2023; 119:36-44. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate whether prolonged storage of vitrified blastocysts negatively impacts pregnancy and neonatal outcomes. DESIGN A retrospective cohort study. SETTING University hospital. PATIENT(S) A total of 6,900 patients who desired to transfer vitrified blastocysts from the same oocyte retrieval cycle as their last live birth met the inclusion criteria and were grouped according to the storage duration (1,890 patients in group 1 with storage duration < 3 years, 2,693 patients in group 2 with storage duration between 3 and 4 years, 1,344 patients in group 3 with storage duration between 4 and 5 years, 578 patients in group 4 with storage duration between 5 and 6 years and 395 patients in group 5 with storage duration ≥ 6 years but ≤ 10.5 years). INTERVENTION(S) None. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE(S) Rates of blastocyst survival, biochemical pregnancy, clinical pregnancy, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, and live birth and neonatal outcomes. RESULT(S) The survival rates of the vitrified blastocysts significantly decreased with prolonged storage from group 1 to the subsequent groups 2, 3, 4, and 5. After adjusting for potential confounding factors, the rates of biochemical pregnancy, clinical pregnancy, and live birth were significantly decreased when the vitrified blastocysts were stored for more than 6 years (group 5) compared with these for less than 3 years (group 1) but no distinct differences were found in these above-mentioned indicators among group 1, 2, 3, and group 4 (group 1 as reference). However, no significant differences were noted in the rates of miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy and neonatal outcomes on prolonged storage of vitrified blastocysts. CONCLUSION(S) Long-term blastocyst vitrification for more than 6 years can negatively affect the rates of biochemical pregnancy, clinical pregnancy, and live birth but does not impact neonatal outcomes.

Abstract
IntroductionNowadays, frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) has become one of the standard treatments for infertility in the field of assisted reproductive technology (ART). Natural cycle FET (NC-FET) has many advantages, such as simplicity and economics, no effect on patients’ menstrual cycles, estrogen and progesterone levels, as well as no interference in endometrial growth and transformation, which is aligned with the natural physiological state of embryo implantation. Nonetheless, there is a controversy regarding the need for luteal phase support (LPS) during NC-FET cycles. The purpose of this study is to assess whether LPS was not inferior to non-LPS in terms of OPR in NC-FET cycles.Methods and analysisThis study including 1,010 ovulatory women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF)/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles with an elective freeze-all strategy followed by NC-FET will be performed at four university-affiliated reproductive centers. Participants will be randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to receive LPS treatment or not. This study is designed as an open-label, non-inferiority, randomized controlled trial (RCT), and the primary statistical strategies were intention-to-treat (ITT) and per-protocol (PP) analysis.DiscussionThere may not have been any significant difference in the chance of a live birth after FET if no progesterone was supplemental during the luteal phase. However, due to the limited number of previous studies, which are mainly retrospective, evidence is still limited. Thus, by conducting this multicenter RCT, we intend to evaluate whether LPS is necessary in NC-FET.Ethics and disseminationA Reproductive Ethics Committee of the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SDUTCM) has approved this study. This study will handle the data as required by general data protection regulations. Participants will sign a written informed consent regarding participation in the study and storage of blood samples in a biobank for future research. This study will be monitored by study personnel trained in Good Clinical Practice who are not involved in the study. Abstract
BACKGROUND Blastomere loss is a common phenomenon that occurs following cryopreservation. To date, studies have drawn conflicting conclusions regarding the impact of blastomere loss on pregnancy outcomes. Besides, limited information is available concerning the neonatal safety of embryos with blastomere loss. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the impact of blastomere loss on pregnancy and neonatal outcomes of vitrified/warmed Day3 cleavage-stage embryos in single embryo transfer cycles. METHODS This retrospective cohort study included all vitrified/warmed D3 cleavage-stage single frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) cycles between April 2015 and February 2021. We compared pregnancy and subsequent neonatal outcomes between the intact embryos group and the blastomere loss group in single FET cycles. RESULTS A total of 6287 single FET cycles were included in the study, in which 5873 cycles were classified into the intact embryo group and 414 cycles were classified into the blastomere loss group. The outcomes of the blastomere loss group were significantly inferior to those of the intact embryo group, in terms of implantation/biochemical pregnancy/clinical pregnancy/ongoing pregnancy rate and live birth rate per embryo transfer cycle/per clinical pregnancy. Further binary logistic regression confirmed that blastomere loss was negatively associated with live birth. Moreover, the blastomere loss group presented with an elevated early miscarriage rate. The neonatal conditions were broadly similar between the two groups. Additionally, multiple binary logistic regression analysis demonstrated that primary infertility and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) were common influencing factors of blastomere loss (aOR 1.447, 95% CI 1.038-2.019, P = 0.029; aOR: 1.388, 95% CI: 1.044-51.846, P = 0.024). CONCLUSIONS The transfer of vitrified/warmed D3 embryos with blastomere loss is related to impaired embryo developmental potentials and reduced probabilities of conception. Moreover, even if the embryos with blastomere loss have implanted and reached clinical pregnancies, they present with a lower possibility of developing to live birth owing to a higher early miscarriage rate. However, once the embryos with blastomere loss result in a live birth, no adverse neonatal outcomes are observed. Primary infertility and ICSI were found to be risk factors for blastomere loss.

Abstract
Background Previous studies have shown that frozen embryo transfer (FET) resulted in increased live birth rates (LBR) and reduced the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) than did fresh embryo transfer in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). In addition, overweight/obese women with PCOS are at increased risk of subfertility and complications of pregnancy, compared with normal-weight women. The ovarian stimulation and artificial hormone regimes are the two more commonly used endometrial preparation protocols in PCOS patients.This retrospective study aims to compare the pregnancy outcomes of mildly stimulated cycles (mSTC) and artificial cycles (AC) prior to FET in overweight/obese women with PCOS. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted in overweight/obese women with PCOS who underwent their first FET cycles from January 2018 to December 2020. Two endometrial preparation protocols were used: the mildly stimulated cycles (N = 173) and the artificial cycles (N = 507). All pregnancy outcomes were analyzed by Student’s t-test, Chi-square (χ2) statistics and multivariable logistic regression analyses. Results This study enrolled 680 cases of FET cycles. The mSTC group exhibited significantly higher LBR compared with the AC group (49.7% vs. 41.0%; P = 0.046), while the rate of miscarriage was significantly lower (6.4% vs. 23.0%; P < 0.001). No statistically significant differences were observed in positive pregnancy rate (57.8% vs. 60.0%, P = 0.618), clinical pregnancy rate (54.3% vs. 55.6%, P = 0.769), and ectopic pregnancy rate (2.1% vs. 3.2%, P = 0.860) between two groups. After adjusting for possible confounding factors, multivariate logistic regression analysis also yielded similar results. Conclusions For overweight/obese women with PCOS, mSTC-FET demonstrated a higher LBR and a lower pregnancy loss rate than that in the AC-FET. When considering the most cost-effective treatment with the least adverse effects on patients, the mSTC for FET endometrial preparation may be considered. To corroborate our findings, additional prospective randomized clinical trials with larger sample sizes are required. Abstract
Research question What influence does seven days of oestrogen administration versus fourteen days have on the reproductive outcomes of frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) in programmed endometrial preparation cycles? Design In a retrospective study, conducted at a university-affiliated tertiary hospital, a total of 2628 infertile patients (4142 FET cycles) were divided into one of two groups between January 2014 and December 2020: group A (n = 1406, seven days of oestrogen before progesterone (P4) supplementation) and group B (n = 2716, fourteen days of oestrogen before P4 supplementation). The primary outcome was cumulative live birth rate (CLBR). Secondary outcomes were other pregnancy-related outcomes, maternal and neonatal complications. Results No significant difference in CLBR was observed when comparing seven versus fourteen days of oestrogen administration before starting P4 supplementation (47.6% vs. 48.8%, P = 0.537). Furthermore, multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that oestrogen administration in programmed FET cycles (7 days vs. 14 days) was not significantly associated with CLBR (OR 1.04, 95% CI 0.89–1.23). The risks of maternal and neonatal complications were comparable between the two groups. Conclusions Variation in the duration of oestradiol supplementation before P4 initiation does not impact FET reproductive outcomes. For infertile women who desire to conceive as soon as feasible, short (seven days) oestrogen administration in a programmed FET cycle may be a suitable alternative. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate whether high estrogen (E2) levels caused by controlled ovarian hyperstimulation affect the birth defect rate in singleton assisted reproductive technology (ART) birth after conceived by fresh embryo transfer and frozen embryo transfer (FET). METHODS This was a retrospective cohort study. A total of 581 women with singletons, as well as those who have become pregnant and have had an unwanted abortion under high E2 levels on trigger day were divided into three groups. Group A received FET and the E2 levels on trigger day were higher than 5000 pg/ml. Group B received fresh embryo transfer and the E2 levels were between 3000 and 5000 pg/ml. Group C received FET and the E2 levels were between 3000 and 5000 pg/ml. RESULTS There were no significant differences in birth weight, delivery mode, preterm birth rate, and fetal sex between the three groups (p > .05). Birth defect rate in Group B was higher than that in Group A and C, and the rate between Group B and C had significant differences (p < .05). After adjusting for maternal age, BMI, and type of infertility, only a FET cycle is significantly associated with decreased birth defect rate. CONCLUSION Fresh embryo transfer under supraphysiological level of estrogen exposure may increase the birth defect rate of ART singletons. Even after prenatal screening and diagnosis, a part of birth defect could not be detected during pregnancy. When the estrogen levels on trigger day were no lower than 3000 pg/ml, FET should be advocated to reduce the occurrence of such risk.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Reported increases in maternal and perinatal morbidity (including macrosomia, large for gestational age (LGA), cesarean section, hemorrhage and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy) following frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles may be associated with the lack of a corpus luteum seen in programmed FET. Given the growing number of studies comparing outcomes between natural FET and programmed FET cycles, a meta-analysis would prove useful to detect the presence of abnormalities in fetal birth weight in patients undergoing natural and programmed FET cycles. OBJECTIVE AND RATIONALE The aim of this study was to provide a systematic review and meta-analysis of the effects of natural versus programmed methods of endometrial preparation for FET cycles on fetal weight and the risks of LGA and macrosomia. SEARCH METHODS A literature search using MEDLINE, SCOPUS, EMBASE and clinicaltrials.gov was conducted for published research comparing neonatal outcomes in natural FET and programmed FET cycles. Primary outcomes of interest were fetal weight, macrosomia and LGA. Studies were included if the following criteria were met: study contained cohorts of NFET and programmed FET with outcome data of birth weight, large for gestational data and/or macrosomia. The data are presented as average weight and odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence interval (CI) with fixed- or random-effects meta-analysis between cohorts of NFET and programmed FET cycles. Bias was assessed using Newcastle-Ottawa quality assessment scale for the 14 included studies. Multiple subgroup analyses were performed to assess for effect of the true natural cycle (defined as no ovulation trigger medication use) and the day of embryo transfer on fetal weight parameters compared with programmed cycle FET. OUTCOMES A total of 879 studies were identified, with 15 meeting inclusion the criteria. The studies varied with respect to country of origin, definition of natural cycle FET and type of progesterone supplementation used. The included studies had similar gestational ages at the time of birth. Programmed FET cycles resulted in a higher fetal weight compared with natural FET cycles (mean difference 47.38 gp = 0.04). Programmed FET cycles were also at higher risk for macrosomia (OR 1.15, 95% CI 1.06-1.26) and LGA (OR 1.10, 95% CI 1.02-1.19) compared with natural FET cycles. Subgroup analyses demonstrated that programmed FET cycles resulted in a higher fetal weight compared with true natural FET (mean difference 62.18 gp = 0.0001) cycles. Cleavage stage embryo transfers had an increased risk of LGA (OR 1.27, 95% CI 1.00-1.62) and an increased risk of macrosomia (OR 1.25, 95% CI 1.08-1.44) in programmed FET cycles compared with natural FET cycles. Blastocyst transfer in programmed FET cycles resulted in no difference in risk of macrosomia but an increased risk of LGA (OR 1.13, 95% CI 1.06-1.21) compared with natural FET cycles. WIDER IMPLICATIONS Programmed endometrial preparation for FET cycles had a significant effect, causing increased fetal birth weight and increased risks of LGA and macrosomia. The numbers of studies in the subgroup analyses were too low to determine reliable results. Further prospective randomized trials are needed to determine whether the changes seen in the observational trials are indeed accurate.

Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the clinical factors that could be used predict the number of transferable blastocysts in preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) cycles based on next-generation sequencing (NGS) and formed form a mathematical model to predict the chance likelihood of obtaining one transferable blastocyst, which is helpful for genetic counseling. METHODS This retrospective study enrolled couples undergoing PGT cycles for chromosomal structural rearrangement (PGT-SR, n = 363, 202 with reciprocal translocation carriers, 131 with Robertsonian translocation carriers, 30 with inversion carriers), monogenic diseases (PGT-M, n = 47), and for Aneuploidies (PGT-A, n = 132) from January 2015 to October 2018. Stepwise multiple linear regression analysis was used to identify the factors relevant for obtaining at least one transferable blastocyst. The factors that predict the number of biopsied blastocysts were further analyzed. RESULTS The transferable blastocyst rates were 29.94, 41.99, 49.09, 41.42, and 44.37% in the reciprocal translocation carrier, Robertsonian translocation carrier, inversion carrier, PGT-M, and PGT-A cycles, respectively. The number of transferable blastocysts in these cycles were 0.3004 × the number of biopsied blastocysts (NBB) - 0.0031, 0.4063 × NBB + 0.0460, 0.5762 × NBB - 0.3128, 0.3611 × NBB + 0.1910, and 0.4831 × NBB - 0.0970, respectively. Furthermore, the number of MII oocytes and female age were clinical predictors of NBB in reciprocal translocation and PGT-A couples, while the number of MII oocytes was the only clinical predictor in Robertsonian translocation carriers, inversion carriers, and PGT-M couples. CONCLUSIONS The number of biopsied blastocysts was the only clinical predictor of the ability to obtain a transferable blastocyst in PGT cycles; therefore, for clinical practice, theoretically the minimum numbers of biopsied blastocysts is 4 in reciprocal translocation carrier and 3 in couples undergoing PGT for other reasons. The number of MII oocytes and female age were clinical predictors of the number of biopsied blastocysts. With the mathematical models in our study as a reference, in clinical practice, clinicians will be able to conduct a more targeted genetic consultation for different kinds of PGT patients.

Abstract
Background Along with progress in embryo cryopreservation, especially the vitrification, freeze all strategy has become more acceptable than ever. Some studies have found comparable or higher live birth rate with frozen embryo transfer (FET) than with fresh embryo transfer(ET)in gonadotropin releasing hormone antagonist (GnRH-ant) protocol. However from our literature research, there have been no reports about live birth rate comparison between fresh ET and FET with gonadotropin releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) long protocol. The aim of this study is to retrospectively investigate whether patients benefit from freeze all strategy in GnRH-a protocol using real-world data. Methods This is a retrospective cohort study, in which women undergoing fresh ET or FET with GnRH-a long protocol at Chongqing Reproductive and Genetics Institute from January 2016 to December 2018 were evaluated. The primary outcome was live birth rate. The secondary outcomes were implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate, pregnancy loss and ectopic pregnancy rate. Results A total of 7,814 patients met inclusion criteria, implementing 5,216 fresh ET cycles and 2,598 FET cycles, respectively. The demographic characteristics of the patients were significantly different between fresh ET and FET groups, except BMI. After controlling for a broad range of potential confounders including age, infertility duration, BMI, AMH, number of oocytes retrieved and of available embryos, multivariate logistic regression analysis demonstrated that there was no significant difference in clinical pregnancy rate, ectopic pregnancy rate and pregnancy loss rate between two groups (all P > 0.05). However, the implantation rate and live birth rate in fresh ET group were significantly higher than FET group (P < 0.001 and P = 0.012, respectively). Conclusions Under GnRH-a long protocol, compared to FET, fresh ET was associated with higher implantation rate and live birth rate in infertile patients that underwent in vitro fertilization (IVF). The freeze all strategy should be individualized and made with caution especially with GnRH-a long protocol.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to evaluate the developmental outcomes in children from cryopreserved embryos, with minimum influences of interparental variation that would cause potential bias. Hence we examined siblings, in which the older sibs were from fresh embryo transfers, while the younger sibs were from cryopreserved embryos. METHODS Three pairs of siblings were evaluated. All routine prenatal and neonatal evaluation were performed, while personal-social, language, fine and gross motor evaluation were all evaluated by the Denver Developmental Screening Test (DDST)-II. Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI) test was used to measure the Intelligent Quotient (IQ) in 5 of 6 children. RESULTS Standard prenatal measurements of all children suggested uneventful pregnancies, followed by uneventful deliveries. DDST-II results showed that the aspects of personal-social, language, fine and gross motor in every child are as expected according to their ages. Results from WPPSI tests suggest that 5 of 6 evaluated children acquired average to high-average intelligences. CONCLUSIONS The results suggest that the developmental outcomes in children from cryopreserved embryos have no significant differences with the outcomes in children from fresh embryo transfers.

Abstract
Background Adverse obstetric outcomes are correlated with altered circulating hormone levels at the time implantation by the trophectoderm. What’ more, embryo freezing process may also have adverse effect on perinatal outcomes. This study aims to evaluate whether increasing interval time between a freeze-all cycle and a subsequent frozen-thawed single blastocyst transfer could have any effect on pregnancy and perinatal outcomes. Methods This was a retrospective cohort study included the first single blastocyst transfer in artificially cycles of all patients who underwent a freeze-all cycle between January 1st, 2016 and September 30th, 2018. All patients were divided into two groups according to the time interval between oocyte retrieval and the day of first frozen-thawed embryo transferred (FET): Group 1 (immediate FET cycles) and Group 2 (delayed FET cycles). Results No significant differences were reported between the two groups regarding the rates of clinical pregnancy, live birth, biochemical pregnancy and pregnancy loss even after adjusting for measured confounding. When accounting for perinatal outcomes, gestational age, birth weight, delivery mode, fetus gender, preterm birth, gestational hypertension, GDM, placenta previa, fetal malformation and low birthweight also did not vary significantly between the two groups. Only the incidence of macrosomia was more frequently in the Group 2 compared with the Group 1 (AOR 3.886, 95%CI 1.153–13.103, P = 0.029) after adjusting with a multiple logistic regression model. Conclusions We found delayed FET cycles for blastocyst transfer following freeze-all cycles may not improve the pregnancy outcomes. On the contrary, postponement of FET cycles may increase the risk of macrosomia. Therefore, FET cycles for blastocyst transfer should be done immediately to avoid adverse effects of delayed time on perinatal outcomes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Recently, it has been shown that PCOS patients with extremely high anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) level are more likely to experience OHSS during IVF, compared to PCOS patients with lower AMH level. While recent data questioned the effect of Letrozole (LE) on the occurrence of OHSS in non-PCOS patients, it role in PCOS patients with very high AMH level was never investigated in a prospective manners. Hence, our main objective was to evaluate the clinical outcome of PCOS patients at very high risk for OHSS undergoing two different COS protocols (with or without LE). METHODS A prospective randomized controlled study (RCT) of 51 patients with specifically high levels of AMH undergoing one of two COS protocols. The control group (group A) consisted of 24 PCOS women who received low-dose gonadotropins using the multiple-dose GnRH-antagonist protocol, GnRH agonist-triggered and "freeze all". The study group (group B) consisted of 24 women with PCOS who received the same protocol combined with LE. High risk criteria for OHSS were: PCOS patients with low BMI, young age, and extremely high level of serum AMH (inclusion criteria for AMH > 50 pmol/L). RESULTS Cumulative live birth rates per retrieval were similar in both groups. While no single case of severe OHSS was observed in, in the study group (group B), the rate of moderate and mild OHSS was 5 times lower compared to the control group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION In PCOS patients with extremely high AMH levels the LE co-administration to GnRH-Ant protocols results in reduced incidence of OHSS than conventional GnRH-Ant protocols. LE co-administration may prove to be highly effective in preventing OHSS, even in the women who are at high risk to these dangerous complications.

Abstract
PURPOSE In vitro fertilization with trophectoderm embryo biopsy and pre-implantation genetic screening with comprehensive chromosomal screening (PGS-CCS) for aneuploidy is becoming increasingly more popular. Embryos are cryopreserved and implanted in a subsequent frozen thawed embryo transfer cycle (FET). No studies have investigated differences in pregnancy outcomes by timing of trophectoderm biopsy relative to stages of blastocyst development. METHODS Retrospective study of all patients (n = 363) at a single IVF center between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2016 undergoing single embryo transfer with PGS-CCS where embryos were cryopreserved with subsequent FET. Embryo expansion and grading was assessed both at the time of biopsy and transfer. Pregnancy rates were analyzed by embryo expansion and embryo grading. RESULTS Implantation, clinical pregnancy, and live birth rates improved significantly with increased embryo expansion at the time of embryo biopsy (P < 0.001). Pregnancy loss decreased with increases in embryo expansion prior to biopsy (P < 0.001). Superior live birth rates with PGS-CCS were seen when embryos were hatching at the time of biopsy (p < 0.001). For fresh and frozen embryo transfers without PGS-CCS, embryo expansion did not affect pregnancy outcomes. CONCLUSIONS PGS-CCS significantly increases implantation and live birth rates only if embryos are hatching at the time of biopsy. The embryo biopsy itself on a non-hatching embryo significantly damages the embryo in ways which are not reflected in future embryo expansion. IVF labs should wait until embryos hatch before performing trophectoderm biopsy.
