Abstract
AIM To investigate wearable sensors for measuring functional hand use in children with unilateral cerebral palsy (CP). METHOD Dual wrist-worn accelerometry data were collected from three females and seven males with unilateral CP (mean age = 10 years 2 months [SD 3 years]) while performing hand tasks during video-recorded play sessions. Video observers labelled instances of functional and non-functional hand use. Machine learning was compared to the conventional activity count approach for identifying unilateral hand movements as functional or non-functional. Correlation and agreement analyses compared the functional usage metrics derived from each method. RESULTS The best-performing machine learning approach had high precision and recall when trained on an individual basis (F1 = 0.896 [SD 0.043]). On an individual basis, the best-performing classifier showed a significant correlation (r = 0.990, p < 0.001) and strong agreement (bias = 0.57%, 95% confidence interval = -4.98 to 6.13) with video observations. When validated in a leave-one-subject-out scenario, performance decreased significantly (F1 = 0.584 [SD 0.076]). The activity count approach failed to detect significant differences in non-functional or functional hand activity and showed no significant correlation or agreement with the video observations. INTERPRETATION With further development, wearable accelerometry combined with machine learning may enable quantitative monitoring of everyday functional hand use in children with unilateral CP.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In behavioural assessment, information can be gathered from internally referenced self-reports or from proxy informants. AIMS This study aimed to fine-tune a brief but reliable method for evaluating the proxy accuracy in cases where responses obtained from adult and older adults' patient cannot be considered reliable. METHODS We generated a set of items reflecting both overt and covert behaviours related to the basic instrumental activities of daily living. The psychometric properties of the content, factorial, and criterium validity of these items were then checked. The Proxy Reliability Questionnaire-ProRe was created. We tested the frequency of "I don't know" responses as a measure of proxy reliability in a sample of healthy older adults and their proxies, and in a second sample of proxy respondents who answered questions about their parents. RESULTS As expected, response precision was lower for items characterizing covert behaviours; items about covert compared to overt behaviours generated more "I don't know" answers. Proxies provided less "I don't know" responses when evaluating the parent, they claimed they knew better. Moreover, we tried to validate our approach using response confidence. Encouragingly, these results also showed differences in the expected direction in confidence between overt and covert behaviours. CONCLUSIONS The present study encourages clinicians/researchers to how well the proxy the patient know each other, the tendency of proxies to exhibit, for example, response bias when responding to questions about patients' covert behaviours, and more importantly, the reliability of informants in providing a clinical assessment of neurocognitive diseases associated with aging.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to quantify characteristics of bimanual movement intensity during 30 h of hand-arm bimanual intensive therapy (HABIT) and bimanual performance (activities and participation) in real-world settings using accelerometers in children with unilateral cerebral palsy (UCP). Twenty-five children with UCP participated in a 30 h HABIT program. Data were collected from bilateral wrist-worn accelerometers during 30 h of HABIT to quantify the movement intensity and three days pre- and post-HABIT to assess real-world performance gains. Movement intensity and performance gains were measured using six standard accelerometer-derived variables. Bimanual capacity (body function and activities) was assessed using standardized hand function tests. We found that accelerometer variables increased significantly during HABIT, indicating increased bimanual symmetry and intensity. Post-HABIT, children demonstrated significant improvements in all accelerometer metrics, reflecting real-world performance gains. Children also achieved significant and clinically relevant changes in hand capacity following HABIT. Therefore, our findings suggest that accelerometers can objectively quantify bimanual movement intensity during HABIT. Moreover, HABIT enhances hand function as well as activities and participation in real-world situations in children with UCP.

Abstract
<p style="text-align: justify;">Raising a child with cerebral palsy contains difficult stress, which negatively affects everyone who is involved in this process. In native psychology, this problem is described by I.U. Levchenko, V.V. Tkacheva, V.A. Vishnevsky, T.N. Volkovskaya. However, there is a lack of research on stress for people, who are raising a child with cerebral palsy. The purpose of this review is to learn about foreign studies on stress for people, who are raising children with cerebral palsy. The article describes R. Abidin's current leading model for parental stress. The connection between raising a child with cerebral palsy and parental stress is considered based on R. Abidin's model. Particularly, the results of studies describe specific aspects of parental stress: lack of knowledge on special child care, not an equal assignment for parental responsibilities, separation anxiety, parent's health problems, social isolation, and guilt. Based on the analysis, we can conclude that raising a child with cerebral palsy is associated with a higher level of stress than raising children without disabilities. This information can be used both in similar studies for a domestic sample and in active programs to reduce parental stress.</p>

Interrater Reliability of Activity Questionnaires After an Intensive Motor-Skill Learning Intervention for Children With Cerebral Palsy. Arch Phys Med Rehabil 2019; 100:1655-1662. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the reliability of parents-reported activity questionnaires after a motor-skill learning intervention for children with cerebral palsy (CP). We hypothesize that the intervention process might influence parental judgment. DESIGN Double-blind randomized trial. SETTING Conventional therapy was delivered in the usual context while intensive intervention was provided at the Catholic University of Louvain. PARTICIPANTS Children with CP (N=41; age range 5-18y, Gross Motor Function Classification System I-IV) were randomized to a control group (CG) (n=21, 2 dropouts) receiving conventional therapy or an intervention group (IG) (n=20) receiving hand-arm bimanual intensive therapy-including lower extremities (HABIT-ILE). INTERVENTIONS Conventional therapy (mostly neurodevelopmental) was delivered as ongoing treatment (1-5 times/wk). HABIT-ILE, based on motor-skill learning, was delivered over 2 weeks. All children were assessed at T1 (baseline), T2 (3wk after baseline) and T3 (4mo after baseline). MAIN OUTCOMES MEASURES ABILHAND-Kids and ACTIVLIM-CP questionnaires rated by parents (perception) and 2 examiners (videotapes). RESULTS Agreement (level/range) between examiners was systematically almost perfect (P≤.001). At baseline, moderate to almost perfect agreement (level/range) was observed between parents and examiners (P≤.001). At T2 and T3, a similar agreement (level/range) was observed for the CG. For the IG, a similar level of agreement was observed, but the range of agreement varied from poor to almost perfect (P≤.001), with parents estimating higher performance measures compared to examiners after intervention. Higher performance was associated with higher satisfaction scores of the child's functional goals at T3. CONCLUSION Parents and examiners have a similar perception of the child's performance at baseline and during conventional therapy. Their perceptions are less congruent after a motor-skill learning intervention, probably due to the goal-oriented process of the intervention. Therefore, our results favor the use of blind observations of home-videotaped items after intensive motor-skill learning interventions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND There is growing evidence that children's sense of autonomy is an important psychological need closely linked with the development of self-esteem and motivation. Among children with physical disabilities, motor or cognitive limitations may negatively affect child's sense of autonomy (CSA) and competency. PURPOSE To examine how sense of autonomy among children with cerebral palsy (CP) directly and indirectly relates to their activity of daily living (ADL) and scholastic performance. METHODS Seventy-three children with CP and their mothers participated in this study. Child's ADL skills and scholastic performance were assessed using the Pediatric Evaluation Disability Inventory (PEDI) and the Scholastic Skills Rating Scale (SSRS), respectively. Level of impairment was assessed using the Gross Motor Function Measure-66 (GMFM-66). CSA was established via videotaped mother-child interactions. Regression analyses were conducted to examine factors predicting child's functional level (ADL and scholastic). The overall model was tested for goodness-of-fit and test of mediation. RESULTS GMFM and CSA significantly predicted child's ADL and scholastic functioning. GMFM explained 15% of the variance for CSA, 84% for PEDI, and 24% for scholastic functioning. CSA positively mediated the association between GMFM and child's ADL skills. GMFM was positively associated with CSA. CONCLUSION Motor impairment has a substantial impact on child's level of functioning. However, child's functioning is a complex construct that is also affected by her or his sense of autonomy. Therefore, sense of autonomy can serve as a potential point of intervention to improve functioning among children with CP.

Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of this pilot study was to determine the feasibility and use accelerometers before, during, and after a camp-based constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) program for children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy. METHODS A pre-test post-test design was used for 12 children with CP (mean = 4.9 yrs) who completed a 30-hour camp-based CIMT program. The accelerometer data were collected using ActiGraph GT9X Link. Children wore accelerometers on both wrists one day before and after the camp and on the affected limb during each camp day. Three developmental assessments were administered pre-post CIMT program. RESULTS Accelerometers were successfully worn before, during, and directly after the CIMT program to collect upper limb data. Affected upper limb accelerometer activity significantly increased during the CIMT camp compared to baseline (p< 0.05). Significant improvements were seen in all twelve children on all assessments of affected upper limb function (p< 0.05) measuring capacity and quality of affected upper limb functioning. CONCLUSION Accelerometers can be worn during high intensity pediatric CIMT programs to collect data about affected upper limb function. Further study is required to determine the relationship between accelerometer data, measure of motor capacity, and real-world performance post-CIMT.

Abstract
Engaged students tend to show school-committed behaviors (e.g., attend classes, get involved with the learning process), high achievement, and sense of belonging. However, students with disabilities are prone to show a lack of engagement with school due to the specific difficulties they have to handle. In fact, children with disabilities are likely to show poor participation in school when compared with children without disabilities. This poor involvement is related to their low autonomy to participate in the school activities, which, in turn, results in low school engagement. Parents play a crucial role in their children's education. Parental involvement in school activities promotes autonomous behaviors and, consequently, school engagement. In fact, extant literature has shown close relationships between parental involvement, school engagement, and academic performance. Yet, parental involvement in school activities of children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) has received little direct attention from researchers. These children tend to display lower participation due to the motor, or cognitive, impairments that compromise their autonomy, and have a high likelihood to develop learning disabilities, with special incidences in reading and arithmetic. Therefore, our aim is twofold, to understand the parental styles; and how the perceived parental involvement in school activities is related to their children school engagement. Hence, 19 interviews were conducted with one of the parents of 19 children with CP. These interviews explored the school routines of children and the perceived involvement of parents in those routines. Additionally, children filled out a questionnaire on school engagement. Results show that the majority of the parents were clustered in the Autonomy Allowance and Acceptance and Support parental style, and the majority of their children were perceived as autonomous. Moreover, about a half of the children reported a high level of school engagement. Finally, neither children's autonomous behaviors reported by parents, nor parental style, seem to be related with the children's level of school engagement. Rehabilitation centers and schools could consider training parents/caregivers focusing on their educational needs, promotion of reflections on the usefulness of applying autonomy promotion strategies with their child, and foster their involvement.

As bases eletrônicas da MEDLINE/PubMed, Scopus e Web of Science foram usadas para as buscas. Estudos observacionais dos últimos cinco anos, com texto completo disponível e sem restrição de idioma foram incluídos nesta revisão. Foram encontrados 222 artigos, dos quais, 63 foram analisados e 24 foram incluídos no estudo. Os principais instrumentos encontrados foram: PEDI, WeeFIM, ASK, PODCI, VABS-II, LIFE-H e CAPE/PAC.
