Abstract
AIMS The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®), designed to enhance social skills and relationships for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their caregivers, has primarily been implemented with older children and adolescents ages 11-19, leaving a gap in research on its effectiveness in young children. This scoping review assesses evidence of the effectiveness of the PEERS® program for children with ASD. METHODS A literature search was conducted, resulting in 97 articles. Following the implementation of inclusion and exclusion criteria, four articles of Level III and IV evidence based on CEBM guidelines were included in this review. RESULTS All studies demonstrated positive findings regarding social skills development with one study revealing statistically significant results in increasing social skills and decreasing problem behaviors after participation in the PEERS® program. CONCLUSIONS This scoping review found improvements in the PEERS® programs for social skills in young children (ages 4-7) with ASD. However, further research is warranted, emphasizing larger sample sizes, consideration of external factors, and implementation of randomization and blinding in future studies.

Abstract
PEERS® for Preschoolers (P4P) is a social skills group program for young autistic children and their caregivers, which provides everyday tools for interacting and communicating with others. Twenty-two caregiver-child dyads participated and completed pre-treatment, post-treatment, and follow-up measures (4-16 weeks after). Using single-subject analyses to examine social skills, 60% demonstrated post-treatment improvement, and 53.85% demonstrated follow-up improvement. Regarding a secondary outcome of behavioral difficulties, 33.33% demonstrated post-treatment reduction, and 7.69% demonstrated follow-up reduction. Using regressions, autistic traits predicted outcomes; fewer social communication difficulties predicted both greater social skills and fewer behavioral difficulties at post-treatment, while fewer repetitive behaviors predicted fewer post-treatment and follow-up behavioral difficulties. These results preliminarily demonstrate the benefits of P4P and how autistic traits may impact P4P outcomes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Social skills are necessary for teenagers to have good interactions, accept roles, and adapt to conditions in the community. The present study investigated the effect of cognitive-behavioral educational intervention on students' social skills. MATERIALS AND METHODS This experimental study was completed on 102 female students in Khomeini Shahr, Isfahan. Fifty-seven students participated in the online cognitive-behavioral educational program of social skills for five sessions, and 57 students were assigned to the control group. The data from the Matson Evaluation of Social Skills with Youngsters (for subjects aged 4-18 years old) were collected before and 1 month after the interventional program. The data were analyzed using SPSS 25, independent t-test, Mann-Whitney test, and Chi-squared test. RESULTS The independent t-test showed that before the intervention, the total mean score of social skills and its variables were not significantly different between the intervention and control groups (P > 0.05). However, after the intervention, the total mean score of social skills and the variables of appropriate communication skills, relationship with peers, and impulsive behaviors in the intervention group was significantly more than the control group, but the mean scores of antisocial and arrogant behaviors (haughtiness) were not significantly different between the two times in the intervention and control groups. CONCLUSIONS The results show that participation in educational intervention significantly increased student's social skills development; it is suggested to incorporate cognitive-behavioral intervention in educational programs for adolescents.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Social differences characteristic of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities are evident in early childhood and are associated with later difficulties. Unfortunately, there is a paucity of evidence-based interventions explicitly targeting social skills development for young children, few actively integrate parents and caregivers, and even fewer have remote models. The importance of providing accessible, tailored services for families in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, prompted the creation of a parent-mediated telehealth version of Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®) for Preschoolers (P4P), a pre-existing, evidence-based social skills intervention for children 4-6 years focused on making and keeping friends. METHOD This methodological paper documents the implementation, feasibility, and satisfaction of a novel telehealth group-based delivery of P4P. RESULTS Qualitative results indicate acceptable feasibility and satisfaction. Additionally, following completion there was an increase in parental confidence in social coaching and increased use of child social skills. DISCUSSION Future work will evaluate quantitative outcomes and comparisons between delivery methods (e.g., telehealth vs. in-person).
