Abstract
6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) is widely used in the treatment of many diseases, but exhibits some serious side effects due to its toxicity. Therefore, it is important and imperative to effectively control and monitoring concentration of 6-MP. Herein, we designed a smartphone-assisted colorimetric sensing platform for 6-MP detection, based on an excellent β-cyclodextrin modified MnO2 nanosheets (β-CD@MnO2 NNS) mediated oxidase-like activity. β-CD@MnO2 NNS can directly oxidizes 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) into oxidized TMB with color changes, yielding more than 3-fold higher oxidase-like catalytic activity compared with individual MnO2 NNS. After adding 6-MP, β-CD@MnO2 NNS can be reduced to Mn2+ and lose their oxidase-like properties, resulting in a color and absorbance change for sensitive and selectivity detection of 6-MP. Meanwhile, the smartphone-based color recognition application can intuitively and simply measure the concentration of 6-MP. The limits of detection UV-vis instrument and smartphone were 0.35 μM and 0.86 μM, respectively. This method has also been successfully applied to the detection of real samples. Finally, this study provides a new promising platform for detection of 6-MP and is expected to be used in application of pharmaceutical analysis and biomedicine.

Abstract
BACKGROUND 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) is a chemotherapy drug mainly used to treat leukemia. It is a persistent organic pollutant and can remain in the environment for a long period of time. The presence of 6-MP in the environment poses a number of hazards and needs to be assessed to monitor its potential risk to human health and the environment. However, due to its trace amount in complicated matrices, a clean-up and preconcentration step before its determination is compulsory. RESULTS As a highly efficient adsorbent for the extrication of 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP), a novel carbon nanotube doped with camphor: decanoic acid deep eutectic solvent was synthesized and applied as a packing material for the pipette-tip micro solid phase extraction sorbent of 6-MP from tap, wastewater and seawater samples before its spectrophotometric determination. Characteristics and structure of this adsorbent was fully investigated. Factors affecting extraction, including type and volume of the eluent, ionic strength and pH of the sample solution, amount of adsorbent, and number of extraction and elution cycles were optimized using one-factor-at-a-time and response surface methodologies. The method was found to be linear in the range of 1 to 1000 µg/L with a limit of detection and quantification of 0.2 and 0.7 µg/L, respectively. Reproducibility as relative standard deviation was better than 4.6%. CONCLUSION Application of deep eutectic solvent modified carbon nanotube indicated suitable microextraction results and good potential for rapid extraction of trace amounts of 6-MP from different aqueous samples. The amount of sample required for the analysis was less than 10 mL and only 1.5 mg of the adsorbent was used. The total analysis time, including extraction was less than 15 min and the adsorbent could be used for at least 10 times, without significantly losing its adsorption ability. Compared to using unmodified usual carbon nanotubes, deep eutectic solvent doped carbon nanotubes showed 19.8% higher extraction ability.

Abstract
In this study, a new magnetic nanocomposite was developed as an efficient and fast-response fluorescence quenching sensor for determination of anticancer drug 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP). For this purpose, the needle-shape fluorescence metal-organic framework of cerium (Ce-MOF) were successfully synthesized on the surface of multiwalled carbon nanotubes using 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid ligand via a facile solvothermal assisted route and magnetized. The accuracy of the proposed synthesis was confirmed using the FT-IR, FE-SEM, XRD, and VSM methods. The obtained product as presented the fluorescence emission in 331 nm by excitation of 293 nm in excitation/emission slit widths of 10.0 nm. The operation of suggested method is based on quenching the fluorescence signal in accordance with increasing the 6-MP concentration. The proposed assay effectively detected the trace amount of 6-MP in the linear range of 1.0 × 10-6 to 7 × 10-5 M. The limit of detection and limit of quantification were obtained as 8.6 × 10-7 and 2.86 × 10-6 M, respectively. The analyte molecule was determined in real samples with satisfactory recoveries between 98.75 and 105.33.

Abstract
Four-membered ring peroxides are intimately linked to chemiluminescence and bioluminescence transformations, as high-energy intermediates responsible for electronically excited state formation. The synthesis of 1,2-dioxetanes and 1,2-dioxetanones enabled mechanistic studies on their decomposition occurring with the formation of electronically excited carbonyl products in the singlet or triplet state. The third member of this family, 1,2-dioxetanedione, has been postulated as the intermediate in the peroxyoxalate reaction, recently confirmed by kinetic studies on peroxalic acid derivatives. Several general chemiexcitation mechanisms have been proposed as model systems for the chemiexcitation step in efficient bioluminescence and chemiluminescence transformations. In this review article, we discuss the validity and efficiency of the most important chemiexcitation mechanisms, extended to aqueous media, where the efficiency is known to be drastically reduced, specifically in the peroxyoxalate reaction, highly efficient in anhydrous environment, but much less efficient in aqueous media. Mechanistic studies of this reaction will be discussed in diverse aqueous environments, with special attention to the catalysis involved in the thermal reaction leading to the formation of the high-energy intermediate and to the chemiexcitation mechanism, as well as emission quantum yields. Finally, several recent analytical and bioanalytical applications of the peroxyoxalate reaction in aqueous media will be given.

Abstract
Herein, a simple and portable paper-based analytical device (PAD) based on the inherent capability of carbon quantum dots (CQDs) to serve as a great emitter for the bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl) oxalate (TCPO)-hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) chemiluminescence (CL) reaction is introduced for the detection of harmful mercury ions (Hg2+ ). The energy is transferred from the unstable reaction intermediate (1,2-dioxetanedione) to CQDs, as acceptors, and an intensive orange-red CL emission is generated at about 600 nm, which is equal to the fluorescence emission wavelength of CQDs. The analytical applicability of this system was examined for the determination of Hg2+ . It was observed that Hg2+ could significantly quench the produced emission, which can be attributed to the formation of a stable and non-luminescent Hg2+ -CQDs complex. Accordingly, a simple and rapid PAD was established for monitoring Hg2+ , with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.04 μg mL-1 . No interfering effect on the signal was found from other examined cations, indicating the acceptable specificity of the method. The designed assay was appropriately utilized to detect the Hg2+ in cosmetic samples with high efficiency. It is characterized by its low-cost, easy-to-use, facile but, accurate, and high selective for the detection of Hg2+ ions. Besides, the portability of this probe makes it suitable for on-site screening purposes.

Abstract
A MnO2 nanosheet-assisted ratiometric fluorescence probe based on carbon quantum dots (CQDs) and o-phenylenediamine (OPD) has been developed for the detection of the anticancer drug 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP). CQDs with strong fluorescence are synthesized via the one-step hydrothermal method. MnO2 nanosheets as an oxidase-mimicking nanomaterial directly oxidize OPD into 2,3-diaminophenazine (DAP) which has a fluorescence emission at 570 nm, whereas the fluorescence of CQDs at 445 nm is then reduced by the DAP through the inner filter effect (IFE) under a single excitation wavelength (370 nm). After adding 6-MP, MnO2 nanosheets can be reduced to Mn2+ and lose their oxidase-like property, blocking the IFE with the fluorescence decrease of DAP and fluorescence increase of CQDs. The novel ratiometric fluorescence probe exhibits considerable sensitivity toward 6-MP and linear response is in the 0.46-100.0 μmol L-1 concentration range with the detection limit of 0.14 μmol L-1. Furthermore, the probe shows good selectivity when exposed to a series of interfering other organic and inorganic compounds, and biomolecules and can be applied to the detection for 6-MP in human serum samples and pharmaceutical tablets. Satisfactory recoveries of 6-MP in human serum samples are in the range 96.1-110.9% with the RSD of 1.4 to 3.2%. The amount of 6-MP is successfully estimated as 49.3 mg in pharmaceutical tablet with the RSD of about 2.2%.

Abstract
In the present study, MIL-101(Fe) and amine-carbon quantum dots (CQDs) were combined via a post-synthetic modification (PSM) method; thus, a novel MIL-101(Fe)@amine-CQD hybrid fluorescent probe sensor for the detection of 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) was synthesized. Amine-CQDs as a fluorescent material can convert the bonding interaction between MIL-101(Fe) and 6-MP into recognizable fluorescence signals, and MIL-101 (Fe) as an adsorbent can pre-concentrate 6-MP. Hereupon, this new sensor demonstrates high selectivity and sensitivity towards the detection of 6-MP. The addition of 6-MP to this probe quenches the fluorescence signal at 599 nm. In this study, factors such as pH, response time, and concentration of MIL-101(Fe)@amine-CQDs were optimized by the one-factor-at-a-time (OFAT) method. Under optimal conditions, the relationship between the fluorescence enhancement factor and the concentration of 6-MP for this sensor in the range of 0.1667-1.0000 μg L-1 was linear (R2 = 0.9977, n = 3). The limit of detection and limit of quantitation were 55.70 ng L-1 and 202.06 ng L-1, respectively, which are better than similar techniques. The repeatability of intra-day and inter-day was 2.4% and 4.7%, respectively. This fluorescent sensor was employed to determine 6-MP in real samples and exhibited acceptable results.

Abstract
A sensitive and robust fluorescent assay of 6-MP is described which relies on the facile assembly of a fluorescence nanoprobe by design of silica nanosphere encapsulated CdTe quantum dots (CdTe QDs) as scaffold, coupling with chemically tethered folic acid (FA)-protected silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) that function as responsive element. In this way a stable ternary core-shell-satellite nanostructure with dual-emission signals can be established. On binding to the target molecules, 6-MP, FA molecules initially occupied by AgNPs are liberated to give dose-dependent fluorescence emission, which can further form a self-calibration ratiometric fluorescence assay using CdTe QDs as an internal reference. The nanoprobe color vividly changes from red to blue, enabling the direct visual detection. The linear concentration range is 0.15~50 μM with the detection limit of 67 nM. By virtue of the favorable selectivity and robust assays, the nanoprobe was applied to 6-MP detection in urine samples, with recoveries from 97.3 to 106% and relative standard deviations (RSD) less than 5%. Abstract
A facile colorimetric method was developed for detecting 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) using silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The addition of 6-MP to AgNPs led to the aggregation of AgNPs with a color change from yellow to brown. The ratio between the absorbance at 394 and 530 nm (A394/A530) was used for a quantitative analysis of 6-MP. A linear range of 0 - 0.5 μM was obtained with a detection limit of 10 nM. The developed method is cost-effective and simple.

Abstract
The residues of pyrethroids in foods of animal origin are dangerous to the consumers, so this study presented a chemiluminescence sensor for determination of pyrethroids in chicken samples. A dual-dummy-template molecularly imprinted polymer capable of recognizing 10 pyrethroids was synthesized. The results of computation simulation showed that the specific 3D conformations of the templates had important influences on the polymer' recognition ability. The polymer was used to prepare a sensor on conventional 96-well microplates, and the sample solution was added into the wells for direct absorption. The absorbed analytes were initiated with the bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)oxalate-H2 O2 -imidazole system, and the chemiluminescence intensity was used for analyte quantification. Results showed that one assay was finished within 12 min, and this sensor could be reused four times. The limits of detection for the 10 analytes were in the range o0.3-6.0 pg/ml, and the recoveries from the standards of fortified blank chicken samples were in the range 70.5-99.7%.

Abstract
The objective of this study is to report a molecularly imprinted polymer-based chemiluminescence method for determination of Sudan dyes. A dummy-template molecularly imprinted polymer capable of recognizing seven Sudan dyes was first synthesized and its recognition mechanism was studied by using computation simulation method. The polymer was coated in the wells of conventional microplate to prepare a chemiluminescence sensor and the assay process consisted of only one sample-loading step prior to signal acquisition. The optimized sensor was used to determine the seven dyes in egg yolk and the results were confirmed with a high performance liquid chromatography. Results showed that this sensor achieved ultrahigh sensitivity (1.0-5.0 pg/mL), rapid assay process (10 min) and satisfactory recovery (70.5%-92.2%). Furthermore, the sensor could be reused for 5 times. Therefore, this sensor could be used as a useful tool for screening the residues of Sudan dyes in egg.

Abstract
In this study, a molecularly imprinted polymer capable of simultaneously recognising seven nitrofurans is synthesised. The polymer particles coated the wells of a conventional 96-well microplate as the recognition element. After sample loading, the analytes were absorbed and a highly sensitive imidazole-enhanced bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl) oxalate–H2O2 system was added to excite light emission. After optimisation of several parameters, the chemiluminescence method was used to determine the seven nitrofurans in animal feeds. Results showed that the method achieved ultrahigh sensitivity for the seven drugs with limits of detection of 5–12pgmL−1, and one assay was finished within 10min. In addition, the polymer-coated plate could be reused five times. The recoveries from the standard fortified blank feed samples were in the range of 74.8–97.4%. From a comparison with a high performance liquid chromatography method, the molecularly imprinted polymer based chemiluminescence method could be used as a simple, rapid, sensitive, and recyclable tool to monitor the abuse of nitrofurans in animal feeds.

Abstract
The probe CT was synthesized and investigated as a novel label-free chemosensor for Ga(3+) detection in water. Probe CT showed remarkable selectivity and sensitivity for Ga(3+) in Tris-HCl aqueous buffer solution (pH7.0). The chemosensor responded rapidly to Ga(3+) with a 1:1 stoichiometry. Meanwhile, the unapparent changes of fluorescence lifetime decays suggest the turn-on process of probe CT by Ga(3+) which appears to be a static mechanism.

Abstract
A sensitive chemiluminescence (CL) sensor based on chemiluminescence resonance energy transfer (CRET) in CdTe quantum dots@luminol (CdTe QDs@luminol) nanomaterials combined with chitosan/graphene oxide-magnetite-molecularly imprinted polymer (Cs/GM-MIP) for sensing chrysoidine was developed. CdTe QDs@luminol was designed to not only amplify the signal of CL but also reduce luminol consumption in the detection of chrysoidine. On the basis of the abundant hydroxy and amino, Cs and graphene oxide were introduced into the GM-MIP to improve the adsorption ability. The adsorption capacities of chrysoidine by both Cs/GM-MIP and non-imprinted polymer (Cs/GM-NIP) were investigated, and the CdTe QDs@luminol and Cs/GM-MIP were characterized by UV-vis, FTIR, SEM and TEM. The proposed sensor can detect chrysoidine within a linear range of 1.0×10(-7) - 1.0×10(-5) mol/L with a detection limit of 3.2×10(-8) mol/L (3δ) due to considerable chemiluminescence signal enhancement of the CdTe quantum dots@luminol detector and the high selectivity of the Cs/GM-MIP system. Under the optimal conditions of CL, the CdTe QDs@luminol-Cs/GM-MIP-CL sensor was used for chrysoidine determination in samples with satisfactory recoveries in the range of 90-107%.
