Abstract
Carbon-coated copper nanocrystals (CuNCs) with peroxidase-like activity were hydrothermally prepared by using copper acetate, citric acid (CA) and histidine (His) as the precursors. Various shaped CuNCs, including urchin-like, slab-like and spherical appearance were facilely prepared by addition of different amount of NaNO2 in the precursor solutions. When 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) was used as the substrate, the CuNCs with urchin-like appearance have greatest peroxidase-like activity and their Michaelis-Menten constant (Km) and the maximum rate constant (νmax) are respectively 8.8 and 1.2 times higher than that obtained from horseradish peroxidase (HRP). The production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) was confirmed by radical quenching and electron spin resonance (ESR) tests. Subsequent studies have found that the CuNCs catalyzed color reaction of TMB can be selectively quenched by the environmental pollutant 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (2,4-DNPH). Thus a new colorimetric method for the determination of 2,4-DNPH with a linear range of 0.60-20 µM was developed and a limit of detection (LOD) as low as 0.166 µM was achieved. The results obtained not only reveal the tunability of the peroxidase-like activity of Cu-based nanomaterials, but also provide a new method for the sensitive determination of environmental contaminate.

Abstract
A new fluorescence coordination polymer [Zn(Py2TTz)(5-OH-IPA)]n (1) (Py2TTz = 2,5-bis(4-pyridyl)thiazolo[5,4-d]thiazole, 5-OH-IPA = 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid dianion) was synthesized, which exhibited the characteristics of fluorescence quenching and bathochromic shift toward Hg(II) in aqueous solution at pH 7.00. Mechanism study showed that the interactions between Hg(II) ions and Py2TTz ligands in 1 were responsible for the fluorescence emission change. Thanks to the specific interactions between 1 and Hg(II), excellent selectivity was achieved both in aqueous solution and in solid test paper. The detection limit of 1 for Hg(II) sensing was 125.76 nmol L-1 and a linear rang was 1.00-10.00 μmol L-1. More importantly, satisfactory recovery and accuracy of 1 for Hg(II) sensing were also obtained in buffer-free real water samples.

Abstract
To achieve the ultrastable LMOFs with predominant luminescent sensing performances, the aromatic π-electron mixed ligands strategy was introduced, and the ternary LMOF of {[Zn2(HDDB)(bib)1.5]·3H2O}n (1), was fabricated based on 3,5-di(2',4'-dicarboxylphenyl)benozoic acid (H5DDB) and the N-donor of meta-bis(imidazol-1-yl)benzene (bib) under mixed solvothermal condition. LMOF 1 features the first reported 3D 3,4,4-c {62.83.10}{62.8}2{63.82.10}2 framework with 21.2 % porosity as well as high thermal and chemical stability. Further luminescent sensing showed that LMOF 1 as a bifunctional chemosensor possessing predominant detectability for sensitive detect the hexavalent chromates and nitroimidazoles/nitrofurans antibiotics in water through strong luminescent quenching effects, with excellent reusability as well as trace detection limits. Moreover, luminescent quenching mechanisms were further investigated from electron transfer and energy transfer viewpoints.

Abstract
A novel three-dimensional luminescence Cd-MOF sensor with the molecular formula {[(CH3)2NH2]2 Cd3(ptptc)2} (complex 1) has been synthesized by using terphenyl-3,3',5,5'-tetracarboxylic acid (H4ptptc) and Cd(NO3)2·4H2O under solvothermal conditions. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis shows that complex 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic system C2/c space group and consists of one-dimensional channels. Complex 1 exhibits characteristic fluorescence emission (λem = 380 nm) both in solid state and solvents upon excitation at 300 nm. Real-time fluorescence quenching of complex 1 was observed in the fluorescence sensing of acetone vapor and picric acid. Intriguingly, ppm scale detection limit for acetone vapor in air and nano-mole scale detection limit for picric acid in water were observed. Moreover, good reusability and liner/nonlinear relationships were observed in the fluorescent titration.

Abstract
Much attention has been given to detection and monitoring of hydrazine-based compounds in recent time because of its significant negative impacts on human health and ecosystem (aquatic lives). This prompted the current study focusing on detection of 2, 4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (2, 4-dnphz) using electrochemically synthesized poly-para amino benzoic acid-manganese oxide (P-pABA-MnO2) composite film. The synthesized P-pABA-MnO2 composite film was characterized in terms of its structural and morphological properties by X-ray diffraction spectroscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy respectively. In addition, functionalities and binding energy of p-PABA-MnO2 were confirmed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy respectively. Finally, electrochemical properties were investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The synthesized P-pABA-MnO2 displayed good electrocatalytic reduction property towards 2, 4-dnphz with ultra-low limit of detection (0.08 μM; S/N = 3) and very high sensitivity (52 μAμ-1Mcm-2). The proposed sensor based on P-pABA-MnO2 also demonstrated good stability in terms of repeatability, reproducibility and interferents effects. Lastly, the proposed sensor was satisfactorily used in detection of 2, 4-dnphz in environmental real samples.

Abstract
The improper use of organic explosives and antibiotics have brought serious threats to the public health and the environmental safety, exploiting cost-effective and handy luminescent sensors with water stability and high selectivity in monitoring and detecting these hazardous substances are of utmost importance. Herein, we developed a simple yet powerful luminescent test strip sensor in a facile way. As for fabricating this test strip, the filter paper used for filtering lanthanide MOF (Ln-MOF) of [Tb(HIP)(H2O)5]·(H2O)·(HIP)1/2 (Tb-HIP, where HIP is 5-hydroxyisophthalate) powders was firstly recycled, and encapsulated with poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) polymer net. The as-fabricated Tb-HIP test strips exhibit enhanced mechanical stability than the un-encapsulated ones, and show characteristic green emission of Tb3+. These test strips can behave as promising highly selective luminescent probes for picric acid (PA) and macrodantin (MDT) even existence of relevant potentially competing analytes. The detection limit for PA is 0.26 μM, and for MDT is 0.21 μM. In addition, the sensors can be successfully applied to detect PA in the river water samples as well as MDT in serum samples with satisfactory results. More importantly, the Tb-HIP test strips are highly efficient, recyclable luminescence sensors to detect PA and MDT.
