Abstract
Photocatalysis has emerged as a extremely promising green technology for the treatment of uranium-containing wastewater. This study focuses on the fabrication of Ti3C2Tx/Cd0.8Zn0.2S composites with Schottky junctions through the in-situ growth of Cd0.8Zn0.2S on Ti3C2Tx nanosheets, enabling efficient photoreduction of U(VI) without the requirement of sacrificial agents. The results demonstrate that the Ti3C2Tx/Cd0.8Zn0.2S composites achieve remarkable 99.48 % U(VI) reduction efficiency within 60 min in a 100 ppm uranium solution. Furthermore, the removal rate remains above 90 % after five cycles. The formation of Schottky heterojunctions by Ti3C2Tx and Cd0.8Zn0.2S leads to the generation of an internal electric field that significantly promotes the rapid separation and transfer of photogenerated carriers, thereby enhancing the photocatalytic reduction efficiency of Ti3C2Tx/Cd0.8Zn0.2S-3:100 (TC/CZS-3:100). A considerable amount of electrons accumulate on Ti3C2Tx via the Schottky barrier, effectively facilitating the reduction of U(VI) to U(IV). As a co-catalyst, Ti3C2Tx enhances the photocatalytic performance and stability of Cd0.8Zn0.2S. Moreover, the practical application in the waste liquid of rare earth tailings reveals that the removal rate can be as high as 91.24 %. This research is of significant value in the development of effective photocatalysts for the elimination of uranium from wastewater.

Abstract
Photocatalytic reduction of uranium from U(VI) to U(IV) has been recognized as an effective treatment method for uranium wastewater. However, most photocatalysts have to be reduced under inert gas and sacrificial agent. Here, a class of nitrogen-rich core-shell photocatalysts (CdS@MC) with high stability was successfully prepared by modifying CdS with melamine and cyanuric chloride condensation. When the initial concentration of U(VI) was 100 mg/L and the solid-liquid ratio was 0.2 g/L, the removal of U(VI) by CdS@MC without sacrificial agent under air could reached 95%. The removal rate was still above 80% after five cycles with good stability and good removal rate of U(VI) at high salt concentration. CdS@MC not only efficiently generates electrons for photocatalytic reduction of U(VI), but also generates H2O2 from O2, which then reacts with uranyl ions to produce metastudtite. This study provides a new direction for the study of efficient uranium removal photocatalysts without sacrificial agent in air environment.

Abstract
Reduction of soluble U(VI) to insoluble U(IV) based on photocatalysts is a simple, environmentally friendly, and efficient method for treating radioactive wastewater. The present study involved the systematic comparison of the photoelectric properties of three metalloporphyrins with different metal centers and the synthesis of a novel porphyrin-based hydrogen-bonded organic framework (Ni-pHOF) photocatalyst by modulating the surface charge microenvironment in porphyrin for enhanced photocatalytic removal of U(VI) from wastewater. Compared to the metal-free HOF, the surface charge microenvironment around the Ni atom in Ni-pHOF accelerated the reduction kinetics of U(VI) under visible light illumination at the initial moment, showing a high removal rate, even in air. The removal rate of U(VI) from aqueous solution by Ni-pHOF can achieve over 98% in the presence of coexisting nonoxidizing cations and only decreased by less than 8% after five cycles, exhibiting high selectivity and good reusability. Furthermore, Ni-pHOF can remove 86.74% of U(VI) from real low-level radioactive wastewater after 120 min of illumination, showcasing practical application potential. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra indicated that modulating the surface charge microenvironment in Ni-pHOF through porphyrin metallization is conducive to improving the charge separation efficiency, prompting more e- and •O2- to participate in the reduction reaction of U(VI). This work provides new insights into the metallization of porphyrin-based HOFs and paves a new way for the tailoring of porphyrin-based HOFs/COFs by modulating the surface charge microenvironment to achieve efficient recovery of U(VI) from real radioactive wastewater.

Abstract
Effective spatial separation and utilization of photogenerated charges are critical for photocatalysis process. Herein, novel Co3O4 @TiO2 @CdS@Au double-shelled nanocage (CTCA) with spatially separated redox centers was synthesized by loading Co3O4 and Au NP cocatalysts on the inner and outer surfaces of Z-scheme heterojunction (TiO2 @CdS). The reduction rate constant of U(VI) by CTCA reached 0.218 min-1 under simulated sunlight irradiation, which was 6.6, 3.2 and 36.3 times than that of monolayer CTCA (0.033 min-1), CTC (0.068 min-1) and CT (0.006 min-1). The full-spectrum light-assisted photothermal catalytic performance can enable CTCA to remove 98.8% of U(VI) and degrade nearly 90% of five organic pollutants simultaneously. Detailed characterizations and theory calculations revealed that the photogenerated holes and electrons in CTCA flow inward and outward. More importantly, Co3O4 acts as a "nano heater" to generate the photothermal effect for further enhancing the charge transfer and accelerating the surface reaction kinetics. Meanwhile, the photogenerated electrons and superoxide radicals play a dominant role in reducing the adsorbed U(VI) to insoluble (UO2)O2·2H2O(s). This work provides valuable input toward a novel double-shelled hollow nanocage reactor with excellent photothermal catalysis ability for efficient recovery U(VI) from uranium mine wastewater to address environmental contamination issues.

Abstract
Designing highly efficient photocatalysts with rapid migration of photogenerated charges and surface reaction kinetics for the photocatalytic removal of uranium (U(VI)) from uranium mine wastewater remains a significant challenge. Inspired by natural photosynthesis, a biomimetic photocatalytic system is assembled by designing a novel hollow nanosphere MnOx @TiO2 @CdS@Au (MTCA) with loading MnOx and Au nano particles (Au NPs) cocatalysts on the inner and outer surfaces of the TiO2 @CdS. The spatially separated cocatalysts efficiently drive the photogenerated charges to migrate in opposite directions, while the Z-scheme heterogeneous shell further separates the interfacial charges. Theoretical calculation identifies multiple consecutive forward charge transfers without charge recombination within MTCA. Thus, MTCA could efficiently remove 99.61% of U(VI) after 15 min of simulated sunlight irradiation within 3 mmol L-1 NaHCO3 with 0.231 min-1 of the reduction rate constant, outperforming most previously reported photocatalysts. MTCA further significantly removes 91.83% of U(VI) from the natural uranium mining wastewater under sunlight irradiation. This study provides a novel approach to designing an ideal biomimetic photocatalyst for remediating environmental pollution.

Abstract
The healthy development of biodiversity has been threatened frequent water eutrophication. In recent years, photocatalytic technology, which has attracted researchers' attention, not only showed increasing potential in the field of organic pollutant degradation, but also many kinds of photocatalysts were used in the field of red tide pollution control at present, which showed superior ability to inactivate harmful algae and degrade algal toxins. Researches have also explored the mechanisms of photocatalytic algae inhibition. In this study, the current research progress in the field of photocatalytic algae inhibition was systematically discussed from several aspects, such as common types of photocatalysts, modification methods of photocatalysts, types of tested algae for photocatalytic algae inhibition, and action mechanism of inactivated algae cells, so as to provide a certain theoretical basis for further application research of photocatalysts in the field of algae removal in the later period.
