Abstract
In this work, the facile fabrication of Co3O4 particles/reduced graphene oxide (Co3O4/rGO) composites on Indium tin oxide (ITO) slide was achieved by an electrophoretic deposition and annealing process. The deposition time and ratio of the precursors were optimized. Structural characterization and chemical composition investigation indicated successful loading of Co3O4 particles on graphene sheets. When applied as a non-enzymatic H2O2 sensor, Co3O4/rGO showed significant electrocatalytic activity, with a wide linear range (0.1-19.5 mM) and high sensitivity (0.2247 mA mM-1 cm-2). The good anti-interference ability, reproducibility, and long-term stability of the constructed sensor were also presented. The application of Co3O4/rGO in real sample analysis was evaluated in human urine sample with satisfactory results, indicating the feasibility of the sensor in physiological and medical applications.

Abstract
In the present work we report a simple, fast, reproducible and cheap methodology for surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) substrate fabrication of silver dendritic nanostructures (prepared by electrodeposition) decorated with gold nanospheres by electrophoretic deposition. This is the first report where a metal dendritic nanostructure has been decorated with another type of metal nanoparticles by this technique. The decorated nanostructures were used directly as SERS substrate using 4-aminothiophenol (4-ATP) as analyte. The objective of the decoration is to create more hot-spots in order to detect the analyte in a lower concentration. Decorated nanodendrites had a detection limit one million times lower than bare silver nanodendrites and all the substrates showed an increase in the Raman intensity at concentrations below 1 nM; because this concentration corresponds to the threshold for the formation of a monolayer resulting in a triple mechanism of intensity increase, namely electric field, chemical factor and hot-spots. 4-ATP was detected in attomolar concentration, which is below 1 ppq, corresponding to an analytical enhancement factor in the order of 1015.

Abstract
The MnO2-TNTA composite electrodes were obtained through depositing MnO2 into TiO2 nanotube arrays (TNTA) by successive ionic layer adsorption reaction (SILAR) and subsequent hydrothermal method. The MnO2-TNTA nanocomposites were used as electrochemical sensors for the detection of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The preparation conditions of MnO2-TNTA electrodes and test conditions affect the electrochemical detection performance significantly. The optimal conditions are listed as follows: the number of SILAR cycles, 6 times; KMnO4 solution temperature, 50 °C; supporting electrolyte, 0.5 M NaOH. Under these conditions, the MnO2-TNTA electrode exhibits the best performance for detecting H2O2. The optimized MnO2-TNTA electrode has a minimum detection limit of 0.6 μM (S/N = 3) and a linear range of 5 μM ∼ 13 mM, which is much superior to the previously-reported electrodes. Moreover, the optimized MnO2-TNTA electrode possesses high selectivity, excellent stability and good reproducibility in the detection of H2O2. When used in the determination of H2O2 content in actual samples including disinfectant and milk, it also shows good accuracy, ideal recovery (96.00% ∼ 102.67%) and high precision (RSD < 4.0%).

Abstract
This paper presents the fabrication methodology of an electrochemical biosensor for the detection of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) as a potential tumor marker with high diagnostic sensitivity. The sensor substrate was a composite based on titanium dioxide nanotubes (TNTs) and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) produced directly on TNTs by electrodeposition, to which anti-HSP70 antibodies were attached by covalent functionalization. This manuscript contains a detailed description of the production, modification, and the complete characteristics of the material used as a biosensor platform. As-formed TNTs, annealed TNTs, and the final sensor platform—AgNPs/TNTs, were tested using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). In addition, open circuit potential (OCP), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and cyclic voltammetry (CV) of these substrates were used to assess the influence of TNTs modification on their electrochemical characteristics. The EIS technique was used to monitor the functionalization steps of the AgNPs/TNTs electrode and the interaction between anti-HSP70 and HSP70. The produced composite was characterized by high purity, and electrical conductivity improved more than twice compared to unmodified TNTs. The linear detection range of HSP70 of the developed biosensor was in the concentration range from 0.1 to 100 ng/mL.

Abstract
The aim of the research was to provide electrochemical, chemical, phase, and microscopic characteristics of electrodes based on titanium dioxide nanotubes (TNTs) containing uniformly deposited, nonagglomerated spherical silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The nanoparticles were produced with the use of electrodeposition and sputter deposition methods. This paper presents the results of research of these platforms with the use of the following techniques: electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Evaluation of the adsorption of proteins-bovine serum albumin (BSA)-was carried out to establish the possibility of the use of the electrodes in a low-cost, simple detection system without surface functionalization. The research proved that the AgNP deposition facilitated the electron transfer increasing their conductivity properties as well as promoting the protein adsorption. The AgNPs/TNT electrodes showed a high selectivity to the BSA-anti-BSA complex. Half an hour of immobilization was enough to completely saturate the TNT electrodes, whereas for AgNPs/TNTs, 1 h of immobilization seemed to be not enough. The impedance parameter changes for electrodes with the AgNPs reached even about 300%. The biggest changes were noted for the platform obtained using cyclic voltammetry, so it is the best detection platform for biosensing.

Abstract
A novel and relatively simple signal-off electrochemical aptasensor was constructed for highly sensitive detection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS). For the first time, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) decorated titanium dioxide nanotube (TNT) was conjugated with polydiallyldimethylammonium chloride (PDDA) functionalized reduced graphene oxide (rGO) to form a new nanohybrid of Ag-TNT/P-rGO. This nanohybrid with a large specific surface area exhibited excellent electrochemical activity, which not only served as the sensing platform to immobilize LPS binding aptamer (LBA) but was also employed as the redox probe to monitor the change of the electrochemical signal. The electrochemical signal responses were measured by cyclic voltammetry (CV) in the potential range -0.3 to 0.5 V at a scan rate of 0.1 V/s. The proposed aptasensor exhibited acceptable stability, reproducibility, and specificity for LPS detection with a wide linear range from 17 fg/mL to 100 ng/mL. The limit of detection (LOD) was 5 fg/mL. Furthermore, the prepared aptasensor showed acceptable recovery ranging from 96% to 103%, and the RSD varied between 1.4% and 8.5% for determining LPS in real samples.Graphical abstract.

Abstract
A TiO2 thin film, prepared on fluorine-doped indium tin oxide (FTO)-coated glass substrate, from commercial off-the-shelf terpinol-based paste, was used to directly adsorb Ag plasmonic nanoparticles capped with polyvinylpyrollidone (PVP) coating. The TiO2 film was sintered before the surface entrapment of Ag nanoparticles. The composite was evaluated in terms of spectroelectrochemical measurements, cyclic voltammetry as well as structural methods such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). It was found that the Ag nanoparticles are effectively adsorbed on the TiO2 film, while application of controlled voltages leads to a fully reversible shift of the plasmon peak from 413 nm at oxidation inducing voltages to 440 nm at reducing voltages. This phenomenon allows for the fabrication of a simple photonic switch at either or both wavelengths. The phenomenon of the plasmon shift is due to a combination of plasmon shift related to the form and dielectric environment of the nanoparticles.

Abstract
This paper presents the comparison of the effects of three methods of production of silver spherical and near-spherical nanoparticles (AgNPs) on the titanium dioxide nanotubes (TNT) base: cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, and sputter deposition. It also evaluates the influence of silver nanoparticles on the electrochemical properties of the developed electrodes. The novelty of this research was to fabricate regular AgNPs free of agglomerates uniformly distributed onto the TNT layer, which has not been accomplished with previous attempts. The applied methods do not require stabilizing and reducing reagents. The extensive electrochemical characteristic of AgNP/TNT was performed by open circuit potential and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy methods. For AgNPs/TNT obtained by each method, the impedance module of these electrodes was up to 50% lower when compared to TNT, which means that AgNPs enabled more efficient electron transfer due to the effective area increase. In addition, the presence of nanoparticles increases the corrosion resistance of the prepared electrodes. These substrates can be used as electrochemical sensors due to their high electrical conductivity, and also as implants due to the antibacterial properties of both the TNT and AgNPs.

Abstract
Herein TiO2 nanotubes (NTs) were fabricated via electrochemical anodization and coated with silver and calcium phosphate (CaP) nanoparticles (NPs) by electrophoretic deposition. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) revealed that Ag and CaP NPs were successfully deposited onto the TiO2 NTs. Using X-ray diffraction, only anatase and Ti were observed after deposition of Ag and CaP NPs. However, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis revealed that the binding energy (BE) of the Ag and CaP NP core levels corresponded to metallic Ag, hydroxyapatite and amorphous calcium phosphate, based on the knowledge that CaP NPs synthesized by precipitation have the nanocrystalline structure of hydroxyapatite. The application of Ag NPs allows for decreasing the water contact angle and thus increasing the surface free energy. It was concluded that the CaP NP surfaces are superhydrophilic. A significant antimicrobial effect was observed on the TiO2 NT surface after the application of Ag NPs and/or CaP NPs compared with that of the pure TiO2 NTs. Thus, fabrication of TiO2 NTs, Ag NPs and CaP NPs with PEI is promising for diverse biomedical applications, such as in constructing a biocompatible coating on the surface of Ti that includes an antimicrobial effect.

Abstract
TiO2 nanotubes arrays (NTs), obtained via electrochemical anodization of Ti foil, were modified with monometallic (Cu, Bi) and bimetallic (AgCu) nanoparticles. Different amounts of metals' precursors were deposited on the surface of NTs by the spin-coating technique, and the reduction of metals was performed via gamma radiolysis. Surface modification of titania was studied by EDS and XPS analysis. The results show that AgCu nanoparticles exist in a Agcore-Cushell form. Photocatalytic activity was examined under UV irradiation and phenol was used as a model pollutant of water. Over 95% of phenol degradation was achieved after 60 min of irradiation for almost all examined samples, but only slight difference in degradation efficiency (about 3%) between modified and bare NTs was observed. However, the initial phenol degradation rate and TOC removal efficiency was significantly enhanced for the samples modified with 0.31 and 0.63 mol% of Bi as well as for all the samples modified with Cu and AgCu nanoparticles in comparison with bare titania nanotubes. The saturated photocurrent, under the influence of simulated solar light irradiation, for the most active Bi- and AgCu-modified samples, was over two times higher than for pristine NTs. All the examined materials were resistant towards photocorrosion processes that enables their application for long term processes induced by light.
