Decarboxylation of isatoic anhydrides with disulfides: an efficient and general synthesis of S-aryl 2-aminobenzothioate derivatives

Direct halosulfenylation of benzo[b]furans: a metal-free synthesis of 3-halo-2-thiobenzo[b]furans

The first example of the direct halosulfenylation of benzo[b]furans with commercially available disulfides and N-halosuccinimides has been achieved, providing an efficient metal-free synthetic pathway to access diverse 3-halo-2-thiobenzo[b]furans in moderate to excellent yields. In particular, a halogen (e.g., bromo or iodo) substituent on the benzo[b]furan ring is amenable for further synthetic elaborations thereby broadening the diversity of the products.

Base-promoted ring opening of 3-chlorooxindoles for the construction of 2-aminoarylthioates and their transformation to quinazolin-4(3H)-ones

Cesium carbonate-promoted synthesis of diverse 2-aminoarylthioates via ring opening of 3-chlorooxindoles with thiols, and their synthetic applications is demonstrated.

Recyclable (PhSe)2-catalyzed selective oxidation of isatin by H2O2: a practical and waste-free access to isatoic anhydride under mild and neutral conditions

A practical and waste-free synthesis of isatoic anhydride was reported. The feature of this methodology is the simple isolation procedure by filtration, which facilitates the direct recovery and reuse of both organoselenium catalysts and solvents.
