Abstract
The incorporation of difluoromethylene (CF2) group into chemical molecules often imparts desirable properties such as lipophilicity, binding affinity, and thermal stability. Consequently, the increasing demand for gem-difluoroalkylated compounds in drug discovery and materials science has continued to drive the development of practical methods for their synthesis. However, traditional synthetic methods such as deoxofluorination often confront challenges including complicated substrate synthesis sequences and poor functional group compatibility. In this context, we herein report a metal electron-shuttle catalyzed, modular synthetic methodology for difluoroalkylated compounds by assembling two C(sp3) fragments across CF2 unit in a single step. The approach harnesses a difluoromethylene synthon as a biradical linchpin, achieving the construction of two C(sp3)-CF2 bonds through radical addition to two different π-unsaturated molecules. This catalytic protocol is compatible with broad range of coupling partners including diverse olefins, iminiums, and hydrazones, supporting endeavors in the efficient construction of C(sp3)-rich difluoroalkylated molecules.

Abstract
The synthesis of undescribed β-aminodifluoroethylsulfinates and their uses in the hydroaminodifluoroalkylation of alkenes is reported. This reaction is performed in the presence of a photocatalyst (4CzIPN, Ru complexes) and enables the direct incorporation of a β-difluoroamine moiety into vinylic aryls, unactivated alkenes, and electron-rich, or -deficient alkenes. The mechanism was studied, and the formation of a gem-difluoromethyl radical was observed after the selective oxidation of the sulfinate function.

Abstract
A convenient synthetic route to α,α-difluoroalkylphosphonates is described. Structurally diverse aldehydes are condensed with LiF2CP(O)(OCH2CH═CH2)2. The resultant alcohols are captured as the pentafluorophenyl thionocarbonates and efficiently deoxygenated with HSnBu3, BEt3, and O2, and then smoothly deblocked with CpRu(IV)(π-allyl)quinoline-2-carboxylate (1-2 mol %) in methanol as an allyl cation scavenger. These mild deprotection conditions provide access to free α,α-difluoroalkylphosphonates in nearly quantitative yield. This methodology is used to rapidly construct new bis-α,α-difluoroalkyl phosphonate inhibitors of PTPIB (protein phosphotyrosine phosphatase-1B).

Abstract
A tin- and halide-free, visible-light photoredox-catalyzed Giese reaction was developed. Primary and secondary α-amino radicals were generated readily from amino acids in the presence of catalytic amounts of an iridium photocatalyst. The reactivity of the α-amino radicals has been evaluated for the functionalization of a variety of activated olefins.

Abstract
Novel and general copper-catalyzed cyclopropanol ring opening cross-coupling reactions with difluoroalkyl bromides, perfluoroalkyl iodides, monofluoroalkyl bromides, and 2-bromo-2-alkylesters to synthesize various β-(fluoro)alkylated ketones are reported. The reactions feature mild conditions and excellent functional group compatibility and can be scaled up to gram scale. Preliminary mechanistic studies suggest the involvement of radical intermediates. The difluoroalkyl-alkyl cross-coupling products can also be readily converted to more valuable and diverse gem-difluoro-containing compounds by taking advantage of the carbonyl group resulting from cyclopropanol ring opening.
