Abstract
Covalent organic Frameworks (COFs) have become a new platform for functional research and material design. A novel covalent organic skeleton (DHB-TFP COF) was synthesized from 2-hydroxybenzene-1,3,5-tricarbaldehyde and 3,3'-dihydroxybenzidine using Schiff base reaction. DHB-TFP COF is a highly stable porous crystalline material and exhibits exceptional thermal and chemical resistance. DHB-TFP COF exhibited a selective and sensitive "turn-off" fluorescence response to 4-NP in ethanol, and TNP not only significantly quenched the fluorescence of DHB-TFP COF but also caused the obvious red-shift. The fluorescence intensity of DHB-TFP COF exhibited a linear correlation with the concentration of 4-NP with a detection limit of 0.40 μM. Furthermore, the maximum fluorescence peak observed for DHB-TFP COF demonstrated a linear relationship with TNP concentration with a detection limit of 11.15 μM. DHB-TFP COF exhibited satisfactory recovery in the detection of 4-NP and TNP in actual water sample indicating its practical application potential. The O atoms of rich hydroxyl and N atoms of C = N present on the surface of DHB-TFP COF scaffold can establish strong hydrogen bonds with 4-NP and TNP, facilitating their mutual interaction. The spectra studies indicated that the fluorescence quenching mechanism can be attributed to the absorption competitive quenching (ACQ) and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) mechanism. This study not only proposed the approach for synthesizing novel structured organic frameworks, but also developed a highly selective and sensitive fluorescence chemical sensor for identifying and detecting 4-NP and TNP.

Abstract
The development of quick and precise detection technologies for active compounds in vivo is critical for disease prevention, diagnosis and pathological investigation. The fluorescence signal of the fluorophore usually defines the probe's sensitivity to the chemical being examined. Many natural compounds containing flavone and isoflavone scaffolds exhibit a certain amount fluorescence, albeit with poor fluorescence quantum yields. Therefore, we used density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) calculations to investigate the fluorescence characteristics of chromium-derived fluorophores in more depth. Different substituents are introduced at different positions of the chromone. As weak electron donor groups, alkyl and aromatic groups were discovered to have varying quantum yields on the fluorophore scaffold, and longer alkyl chains are favorable to enhance fluorescence quantum yield. In comparison to the amino group, substituted amino group can avoid group rotation, and the introduction of cyclic amines such as pyrrolidine and heterocyclic amines can improve optical characteristics. The electron-donating methoxy group at position 6 helps to increase the fluorescence quantum yield.

The fluorescence of aqueous suspensions of these CPs was quenched by folic acid (FA) in a concentration dependent manner. Abstract
The structural, fluorescence properties and binding interaction of benzazaborole derivatives 1-hydroxy-2-(α-methyl) benzyl-1,2-benzo boron nitrogen heterocyclic-3-phosphate diethyl ester (PADE) and 1-hydroxy-2-(2-chloro) benzyl-1,2-benzo boron nitrogen heterocyclic-3-phosphate diethyl ester (PADC) with iodide ion have been investigated utilizing density functional theory (DFT) and Time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) method, in which the PADE and PADC showed strong emission in aqueous solution and fluorescence quenching was observed upon addition of iodide ion. The theoretical study indicates that the strong hydrogen-bond (O-H…I) between benzazaborole derivatives and iodide ion leads to the formation of the benzazaborole-iodide ion complexes. The excited state properties have been explored by theoretical calculation to understand the fluorescent quenching upon introduction of iodide ion. The strong fluorescent emission is originated by the electron transfer from benzyl and phosphate moieties to benzo boron nitrogen fused heterocycle moiety, while the fluorescence quenching is attributed to the electron transfer between the PADE (PADC) and iodide ion. The density difference (EDD) maps and the frontier molecular orbitals diagrams during excitation and de-excitation process demonstrate that the photoinduced electron transfer process between PADE (PADC) and iodide ion leads to fluorescence quenching after a significant internal conversion.

Abstract
For TNP chemosensor 2-(4,5-Bis(4-Chlorophenyl)-1H-Imidazol-2-yl)-4-Chlorolphenol (HPICI), previous thought with no theoretical basis was that excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) process and the ground-state HPICI-TNP complex are mainly responsible for its fluorescence emission and the detection of TNP. However, this interpretation has been proved to be wrong by the present theoretical DFT/TDDFT explorations. Actually, the strong fluorescence of HPICI is mainly induced by the local excitation of the enol form HPICI(E) without ESIPT, and the fluorescence quenching by TNP is due to the photo-induced electron transfer (PET) process together with the cooperative effect of hydrogen-bonding interaction and π-π stacking interaction coexisting in the HPICI-TNP complex. The strengthened excited-state hydrogen bond promotes the PET process, thus facilitates the fluorescence quenching. This mechanism is proposed on the basis of the theoretical analyses on molecule geometry, binding energy, Gibbs free energy, electronic transitions, and frontier molecular orbitals (FMOs).
