Abstract
Choristomas are proliferative growths that occur when normal tissue develops in abnormal locations and may resemble tumors. Oral choristomas commonly present as slow-growing, indolent, and firm masses. The diagnosis primarily relies on histopathologic examination. Given their tumor-like growth and developmental pathogenesis, it is critical to differentiate them from neoplasms. In this article, we present two clinical cases of oral choristomas, a cartilaginous choristoma, and an osseous choristoma of the tongue. We also offer a brief review of the literature discussing clinical presentation, microscopic features, and therapeutic options.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The association of the individual and combined effects of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and sleep quality with physical frailty in community-dwelling older adults is still unknown. SUBJECTS AND METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of older adults who had not required nursing care or support services. Physical frailty was assessed using Liu's definition based on Fried's concept. MVPA was measured by a triaxial accelerometer, and individuals who met either moderate physical activity (MPA) for ≥300 min/week, vigorous physical activity (VPA) for ≥150 min/week, or both were defined as "MVA+". "SLP+" was defined as a Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score of <5.5 points. RESULTS A total of 811 participants were included in the final analysis. After adjusting for the multivariable confounding factors, the odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for physical pre-frailty and frailty in the MVA-SLP+ (OR, 2.56; 95%CI, 1.80-3.62) and the MVA-SLP- group (OR, 3.97; 95%CI, 2.33-6.74) were significantly higher compared with the MVA+SLP+ group. CONCLUSION Community-dwelling older adults who did not meet the MVPA criteria, regardless of sleep quality, had a higher prevalence of physical frailty.

Abstract
Two-dimensional (2D) transition metal nitrides and carbides (MXenes), represented by Ti3C2Tx, have broad applications in flexible electronics, electromechanical devices, and structural membranes due to their unique physical and chemical properties. Despite the Young's modulus of 2D Ti3C2Tx has been theoretically predicted to be 0.502 TPa, which has not been experimentally confirmed so far due to the measurement is extremely restricted. Here, by optimizing the sample preparation, cutting, and transfer protocols, we perform the direct in-situ tensile tests on monolayer Ti3C2Tx nanosheets using nanomechanical push-to-pull equipment under a scanning electron microscope. The effective Young's modulus is 0.484 ± 0.013 TPa, which is much closer to the theoretical value of 0.502 TPa than the previously reported 0.33 TPa by the disputed nanoindentation method, and the measured elastic stiffness is ~948 N/m. Moreover, during the process of tensile loading, the monolayer Ti3C2Tx shows an average elastic strain of ~3.2% and a tensile strength as large as ~15.4 GPa. This work corrects the previous reports by nanoindentation method and demonstrates that the Ti3C2Tx indeed keeps immense potential for broad range of applications.

Abstract
Understanding the structure-stability relationship of catalysts is imperative for the development of high-performance electrocatalytic devices. Herein, we utilize operando attenuated total reflectance surface-enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy (ATR-SEIRAS) to quantitatively monitor the evolution of Cu single-atom catalysts (SACs) during the electrochemical reduction of CO2 (CO2RR). Cu SACs are converted into 2-nm Cu nanoparticles through a reconstruction process during CO2RR. The evolution rate of Cu SACs is highly dependent on the substrates of the catalysts due to the coordination difference. Density functional theory calculations demonstrate that the stability of Cu SACs is highly dependent on their formation energy, which can be manipulated by controlling the affinity between Cu sites and substrates. This work highlights the use of operando ATR-SEIRAS to achieve mechanistic understanding of structure-stability relationship for long-term applications.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Jaw cysts often deeply involve adjacent tooth roots, making it difficult to preserve them. The purpose of this retrospective study was to investigate the effectiveness of an intentional replantation (IR) strategy combined with cyst enucleation in preserving cyst-involved teeth during jaw cyst removal. MATERIALS AND METHODS Fifteen patients with jaw cysts and deeply involved teeth were treated with IR and cyst enucleation. All patients received root canal therapy prior to surgery, except for one patient who received it during surgery. The involved teeth were extracted, and the root surface was carefully cleaned before IR and cyst enucleation. Patients were followed up for 12-14 months, with indicators including clinical complaints, replanted tooth stability, and root resorption. RESULTS No cyst recurrence was observed, and all replanted teeth survived with good local gingival condition and no marked swelling or recession. Radiographic findings showed clear periodontal space surrounding the replanted teeth. One replanted tooth exhibited slight root resorption due to occlusal trauma, but the resorption ceased after occlusal adjustment. CONCLUSIONS IR combined with cyst enucleation is an effective strategy for thoroughly cleaning jaw cysts and preserving teeth involved in the cyst.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Physical activity is known to help prevent physical frailty, but it is not clear which physical activities practiced alone or in combination are most closely associated with a lower risk of physical frailty. We investigated differences in the associations of exercise habit, social participation, and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) with physical frailty and its components among community-dwelling older Japanese adults. SUBJECTS AND METHODS A total of 831 older adults participated in this cross-sectional study. Physical frailty was defined based on the Fried et al. criteria. Exercise habit was defined as exercising ≥ 30 min per day for ≥ 2 days per week for ≥ 1 year. Social participation was defined as participating in community activities ≥ 1/week. MVPA was defined as ≥ 300 min/week of moderate physical activity (MPA) or 150 min/week of vigorous physical activity (VPA). We classified the participants into eight groups according to the presence/absence of these activities, and we performed a logistic regression analysis to investigate the association between different activities, both alone and in combination, and physical frailty. RESULTS The prevalence of physical pre-frailty + frailty was 74.8% in the None group, 65.0% in the Exercise habit group, 76.3% in the Social participation group, 56.5% in the MVPA group, 58.7% in the Exercise habit + Social participation group, 44.0% in the Exercise habit + MVPA group, 41.3% in the Social participation + MVPA group, and 38.0% in the All group. Compared to the None group, the groups in which participants were engaged in any combination of two or more types of activity, as well as the MVPA-alone group had significantly lower risks of physical pre-frailty + frailty. CONCLUSION Community-dwelling older Japanese adults who engaged in MVPA or any combination of two or more types of physical activity as defined herein had lower risks of physical pre-frailty and frailty.

Abstract
The oral Janus kinases inhibitor (JAKi) has improved the management of skin manifestations in systemic sclerosis (SSc), and our study aimed to explore the efficacy of non-selective JAKi tofacitinib in ameliorating interstitial lung disease (ILD) in the patients with SSc. The hospitalization data of the SSc-ILD patients from April 2019 to April 2021 were collected, and the changes of pulmonary function and the radiological findings in pulmonary high-resolution CT (HRCT) from the 9 patients who received tofacitinib for at least 6 months and a matched group of 35 SSc-ILD patients treated with conventional immunosuppressants or glucocorticoids, were compared and analyzed. There were no significant differences in demographic data and clinical characteristics between the tofacitinib-treated group (tofa-group) and the matched group. However, in the tofa-group, the changes in serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) concentration and serum interleukin-6 levels were significantly lower than those in the matched group. Moreover, the tofa-group showed amelioration in decreased diffusing capacity of the lung for carbon monoxide (DLCO) (62.05 ± 9.47 vs. 66.61 ± 12.39, p = 0.046), reductions in ground-glass attenuation involvement (1.00 ± 0.86 vs. 0.33 ± 0.50, p = 0.024) and irregular pleural thickening (1.33 ± 0.50 vs. 0.67 ± 0.51, p = 0.004) in pulmonary HRCTs, alleviated modified Rodnan skin score (mRSS) of skin sclerosis (9.22 ± 3.81 vs. 7.11 ± 3.92, p = 0.048), and reduced HRCT scores of pulmonary fibrosis (15.00 ± 3.87 vs. 12.66 ± 4.92, p = 0.009). Logistic regression analysis showed that the involvement of ground-glass attenuation (OR 11.43) and the add-on therapy of tofacitinib (OR 9.98) were the relevant factors in the amelioration of HRCT. Our results indicate that the use of JAKi (tofacitinib) may be relevant to significant improvement of the sclerosis and early radiological abnormalities in SSc-ILD patients. Further studies are needed to confirm these findings and to explore its efficacy more precisely. Abstract
Purpose Chronic pain may accelerate the development of frailty in older adults through a variety of mechanisms. There are no published investigations of the influence of neuropathic-like symptoms on physical frailty. We investigated the association between chronic pain types (nociceptive and neuropathic-like symptoms) and frailty in community-dwelling Japanese older adults. Participants and Methods This was a population-based cross-sectional study conducted in 2017 in the city of Itoshima, Japan of 917 participants aged 65-75 years, not in need of long-term care, who had completed the physical function tests and questionnaires administered at measurement sessions held at community centers at three sites over a 1- to 2-month period. Their chronic pain types were classified as no-chronic pain, nociceptive pain, and neuropathic-like symptoms according to their painDETECT scores. Frailty phenotypes were defined by the following five components: unintentional weight loss, low grip strength, exhaustion, slow gait speed, and low physical activity. A logistic regression model was used to compute the odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence interval (CIs) for frailty status outcomes. Results The prevalence of pre-frailty was 51.9%, and that of frailty was 5.1%. In multinomial logistic regression analyses, compared to the no-chronic pain group, the OR for the presence of pre-frailty among the participants with nociceptive pain was 1.54 (95% CI: 1.04-2.30, p=0.03), and the OR for the presence of frailty among the participants with neuropathic-like symptoms was 4.37 (95% CI: 1.10-17.37, p=0.04). The neuropathic sensory symptoms of burning, tingling/prickling, and numbness were each associated with frailty, but not with the risk of pre-frailty. Conclusion Neuropathic-like symptoms were significantly associated with the presence of frailty in community-dwelling Japanese older adults. Chronic pain types might have different effects on frailty status.

Abstract
Background In 2017, the Chinese government launched a pilot project in palliative care, in which Shanghai was a pioneer. Nurses play a key role in palliative care services as they are the main providers improving the quality of services for patients and their families. However, little is known about practices and influencing factors in the field of palliative care from a nursing perspective in China. This is an original empirical study that has meticulously analyzed the interrelationship and intensity between practices and other factors among nurses in the initial stage of palliative care in primary healthcare institutions in Shanghai, China. Methods A descriptive-correlational study design was used to sample 2,829 eligible palliative care nurses by purposive sampling survey in 225 healthcare institutions in Shanghai, China. Descriptive analyses were performed using IBM SPSS 24.0 software. Structural equation modeling was applied to analyze the data by AMOS 20.0. Data were collected using the well-designed Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of Hospice Care (KAPHC) scale. Results The final model showed a good model fit. Self-efficacy directly influenced practices (β = 0.506, P < 0.01) and indirectly influenced practices (β = 0.028, P < 0.01) through intention. Subjective norm directly influenced practices (β = 0.082, P < 0.01) and indirectly influenced practices (β = 0.030, P < 0.01) through intention. Intention (β = 0.152, P < 0.01) and knowledge (β = 0.068, P < 0.01) directly influenced practices. Perceived susceptibility (β = -0.027, P < 0.01), perceived benefits (β = -0.017, P < 0.01), and perceived barriers (β = -0.014, P < 0.01) indirectly influenced practices through intention. Conclusion This study provided evidence of the associations of knowledge, perceived susceptibility, benefits, barriers, subjective norm, self-efficacy, intention, and practices among nurses concerning palliative care and interventions improving their actual work practices. Our findings revealed that self-efficacy, intention, and subjective norms greatly influenced practices. It is imperative to take interventions that focus precisely on self-efficacy, intention, and subjective norms to improve nurses' practices.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hospice and palliative care nursing (HPCN) in China is mainly available at public primary care institutions, where nursing homes (NHs) are rarely involved. Nursing assistants (NAs) play an essential role in HPCN multidisciplinary teams, but little is known about their attitudes towards HPCN and related factors. METHODS A cross-sectional study was designed to evaluate NAs' attitudes towards HPCN with an indigenised scale in Shanghai. A total of 165 formal NAs were recruited from 3 urban and 2 suburban NHs between October 2021 and January 2022. The questionnaire was composed of four parts: demographic characteristics, attitudes (20 items with four sub-concepts), knowledge (nine items), and training needs (nine items). Descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple linear regression were performed to analyse NAs' attitudes, influencing factors, and their correlations. RESULTS A total of 156 questionnaires were valid. The mean score of attitudes was 72.44 ± 9.56 (range:55-99), with a mean item score of 3.6 ± 0.5 (range:1-5). The highest score rate was "perception of the benefits for the life quality promotion" (81.23%), and the lowest score rate was "perception of the threats from the worsening conditions of advanced patients" (59.92%). NAs' attitudes towards HPCN were positively correlated with their knowledge score (r = 0.46, P < 0.01) and training needs (r = 0.33, P < 0.01). Marital status (β = 0.185), previous training experience (β = 0.201), location of NHs (β = 0.193), knowledge (β = 0.294), and training needs (β = 0.157) for HPCN constituted significant predictors of attitudes (P < 0.05), which explained 30.8% of the overall variance. CONCLUSION NAs' attitudes towards HPCN were moderate, but their knowledge should be improved. Targeted training is highly recommended to improve the participation of positive and enabled NAs and to promote high-quality universal coverage of HPCN in NHs.

Abstract
Oral function (OF) decline in older people is associated with nutritional deficiencies, which increases frailty risk and the need for nursing care. We investigated whether the delivery of an oral function improvement program on a tablet device was as effective as delivery through a paper-based program. We also investigated the association between tongue pressure (TP) improvement and nutritional status at the baseline. The participants involved in the study were 26 community-dwelling older people with low TP, <30 kPa, aged ≥65 years, who were enrolled in a randomized controlled trial for a month in Itoshima City, Fukuoka, Japan. Oral and physical functions and body composition were measured at the baseline and at follow-up. Two-way analysis of variance revealed that body mass index (p = 0.004) increased, and maximum masticatory performance (p = 0.010), maximum TP (p = 0.035), and oral diadochokinesis /pa/ and /ka/ (p = 0.009 and 0.017, respectively) improved in a month. Participants with higher TP improvement showed an increased intake of animal proteins at the baseline: fish (p = 0.022), meat (p = 0.029), and egg (p = 0.009). OF exercises for improving TP were associated with higher animal protein intake at the baseline. This study has been registered with the UMIN Clinical Trials Registry (UMIN 000050292).

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Impaired mental health status tends to be associated with poor academic performance, but few prospective studies have examined the association between mental health and academic performance among undergraduates while considering the interacting roles of multiple lifestyle behaviors. PARTICIPANTS AND METHODS A total of 1823 Japanese undergraduate students (67% men) were followed up for 4 years. Their mental health status was measured by the six-item Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K6). We defined poor academic performance as a grade point average (GPA) <2.0. Cox proportional hazards models were used to determine the relationship between the students' mental health status and the incident risk of poor academic performance. RESULTS Our analyses revealed that impaired mental health status in the first semester of university study significantly predicted an increased incident risk of poor academic performance during the overall undergraduate period. This association remained significant when the health lifestyle behaviors were adjusted, and the hazard ratio (95% confidence interval) for poor academic performance was 1.62 (1.18-2.23). This significant association disappeared in the low-lifestyle-behavior-risk group. CONCLUSION Impaired mental health status in the first semester significantly predicts an increased incident risk of poor academic performance during the undergraduate period.

Abstract
The formation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) is a process releasing into the extracellular space networks of chromatin fibers decorated with granular proteins. It is implicated in infection-related as well as sterile inflammation. Monosodium urate (MSU) crystals serve as damage-associated molecular pattern (DAMP) in various conditions of disease. Formation of NETs or aggregated NETs (aggNETs) orchestrates initiation and resolution of MSU crystals-triggered inflammation, respectively. Elevated intracellular calcium levels and the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) are crucial for the formation of MSU crystal-induced NETs. However, the exact signaling pathways involved are still elusive. Herein, we demonstrate that the ROS-sensing, non-selective calcium-permeable channel transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 2 (TRPM2) is required for a full-blown MSU crystal-induced NET formation. Primary neutrophils from TRPM2-/- mice showed reduced calcium influx and ROS production and, consequently a reduced formation of MSU crystal-induced NETs and aggNETs. Furthermore, in TRPM2-/- mice the infiltration of inflammatory cells into infected tissues and their production of inflammatory mediators was suppressed. Taken together these results describe an inflammatory role of TRPM2 for neutrophil-driven inflammation and identify TRPM2 as potential target for therapeutic intervention.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES We investigated the relationship between the number of chronic pain sites and the prevalence and severity of neuropathic-like symptoms in community-dwelling older Japanese adults with chronic pain. DESIGN Cross-sectional study. SETTING The data analysed are from a study conducted in the city of Itoshima, Japan in 2017. PARTICIPANTS The study population was 988 participants (age 65-75 years) not in need of long-term care who completed questionnaires assessing sociodemographic factors, psychological factors and chronic pain. PRIMARY OUTCOME MEASURES The primary outcome was the participants' neuropathic-like symptoms evaluated by the PainDETECT Questionnaire (PD-Q). We classified the participants into mild and moderate-to-severe pain groups according to the pain intensity on the PD-Q. The number of chronic pain sites was categorised into groups with 1, 2-3 and ≥4 sites. RESULTS The age-adjusted and sex-adjusted prevalence of neuropathic-like symptoms was significantly higher among the participants with 2-3 or ≥4 sites compared with the single-site group. In the binomial logistic regression analyses, the multivariable-adjusted ORs and 95% CIs for neuropathic-like symptoms among the participants with 2-3 and ≥4 sites were 1.94 (1.13 to 3.33) and 3.90 (2.22 to 6.85), respectively compared with the participants with single-site pain. The ORs for moderate-to-severe neuropathic-like symptoms increased significantly with the increase in the number of chronic pain sites. CONCLUSIONS The number of chronic pain sites was positively associated with the presence and severity of neuropathic-like symptoms in community-dwelling older Japanese adults with chronic pain.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Older adults' mental health and physical frailty have been a frequent research focus, but few studies have investigated the relationship between them. OBJECTIVES To investigate the association between mental health and physical frailty in community-dwelling older Japanese people. DESIGN Cross-sectional study from the Itoshima Frail Study. SETTING Itoshima City, Fukuoka, Japan. PARTICIPANTS A total of 919 community-dwelling older individuals aged 65-75 years. MEASUREMENTS Physical frailty was measured based on five criteria proposed by the Fried scale, and the subjects were classified into three groups: robust, pre-frailty, and frailty. Psychological distress was used to assess the subjects' mental health, with the Kessler 6-Item Psychological Distress Scale (K6) score; the subjects were divided into three groups based on their K6 score: 0-1, 2-4, and ≥5. Psychological distress was defined by K6 score ≥5. Ordinal logistic regression was used to estimate the odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) between the psychological distress and physical frailty status. RESULTS Psychological distress was identified in 190 subjects (20.7%). Forty-six subjects (5.0%) presented with physical frailty, and 24 subjects (2.6%) had both psychological distress and physical frailty. With the increase in the K6 score, more subjects had pre-frailty and physical frailty (p<0.001). Significant positive associations were observed between psychological distress and the risks of pre-frailty (OR 2.94, 95%CI: 1.95-4.43) and frailty (OR 10.71, 95%CI: 4.68-24.51), even in a multivariable-adjusted analysis. In a subgroup analysis of components of frailty, one-point increment in K6 score was associated with higher odds of shrinking and fatigue. CONCLUSION A severe psychological distress was associated with increased risks of physical frailty and the frailty sub-items of shrinking and fatigue in community-dwelling older Japanese adults.

Abstract
Single-atom catalysts (SACs) attract extensive attention in the field of heterogeneous catalysis in recent years due to the maximum atom utilization and unique physical and chemical properties. The gas sensing is actually a heterogeneous catalysis process but the SACs are new to this area. Although SACs show huge potential in gas sensing, the SACs gas sensing area currently is still at the infancy stage. This work critically reviews the recent advances and current status of single-atom gas sensing materials. General synthesis routes, characterization methods, and sensing performance indexes are introduced. At the end, the challenges and future prospects on SACs gas sensing are presented from the authors' perspectives. This work is anticipated to provide insights and guideline for the chemical sensing community.

Abstract
Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a severe life-threatening disease that is generally asymptomatic and is diagnosed at a very late stage. The genetic component underpinning AAA is considerable, with an estimated heritability of up to 70%. Therefore, identifying genetic biomarkers for AAA is valuable for predicting high-risk populations. We used integrative bioinformatics and cellular AAA model-based validation to reveal that the gene encoding protein tyrosine phosphatase non-receptor type 22 (PTPN22) may be a potentially useful diagnostic biomarker for AAA. Integrative bioinformatics analyses of clinical specimens showed that PTPN22 expression was consistently upregulated in aortic tissues and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) derived from patients with AAA. Moreover, transcriptomics data revealed that PTPN22 is a potential biomarker for AAA with limited diagnostic value in patients with thoracic aortic aneurysm/dissection. Single-cell RNA sequencing-based findings further highlight PTPN22 expression in aortic immune cells and vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) is consistently upregulated in patients with AAA. A cellular AAA model was eventually employed to verify the increase in PTPN22 expression. Collectively, the results indicate that PTPN22 could be a potentially useful diagnostic biomarker for AAA.

Abstract
Based on Vallerand’s dualistic model of passion, this study theorizes and empirically examines the temporal dynamics of two types of entrepreneurial passion in female entrepreneurs, harmonious entrepreneurial passion (HmEP) and obsessive entrepreneurial passion (ObEP), and examines the mechanisms by which entrepreneurial effort0 and fear of failure influence the temporal dynamics of entrepreneurial passion. Using data collected from a three-wave, lagged survey of female entrepreneurs, we employed Mplus to build a latent growth model for entrepreneurial passion and built a cross-lag model of the relationship between entrepreneurial passion, entrepreneurial effort, and fear of failure. We found that female entrepreneurs’ HmEP and ObEP present different temporal dynamics. Furthermore, the temporal dynamics of HmEP are achieved through changes in entrepreneurial effort, whereas the temporal dynamics of ObEP are achieved through changes in current entrepreneurial effort and fear of failure in the next stage. Therefore, due to traditional gender stereotypes and varying motivations to engage in entrepreneurship, the two entrepreneurial passions have different dynamic evolution processes. Our results underscore the importance of effort and fear of failure in stimulating the dynamics of female entrepreneurial passion.

Abstract
Vein grafts are widely used for coronary artery bypass grafting and hemodialysis access, but restenosis remains the "Achilles' heel" of these treatments. An extravascular stent is one wrapped around the vein graft and provides mechanical strength; it can buffer high arterial pressure and secondary vascular dilation of the vein to prevent restenosis. In this study, we developed a novel Nanocellulose-gelatin hydrogel, loaded with the drug Astragaloside IV (AS-IV) as an extravascular scaffold to investigate its ability to reduce restenosis. We found that the excellent physical and chemical properties of the drug AS-IV loaded Nanocellulose-gelatin hydrogel external stent limit graft vein expansion and make the stent biocompatible. We also found it can prevent restenosis by resisting endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndMT) in vitro. It does so by activating autophagy, and AS-IV can enhance this effect both in vivo and in vitro. This study has added to existing research on the mechanism of extravascular stents in preventing restenosis of grafted veins. Furthermore, we have developed a novel extravascular stent for the prevention and treatment of restenosis. This will help optimize the clinical treatment plan of external stents and improve the prognosis in patients with vein grafts. The NC-Gelatin extravascular stent has suitable physicochemical properties to prevent restenosis of the grafted veins. The NC-Gelatin extravascular stent has excellent biocompatibility, which is critical for grafting veins. The NC-Gelatin extravascular stent prevents restenosis by activating autophagy against EndMT. AS-IV can enhance the effect of the stent to activate autophagy against EndMT.

Abstract
Background Hospice and palliative care (HPC) aims to improve end-of-life quality and has received much more attention through the lens of an aging population in the midst of the coronavirus disease pandemic. However, several barriers remain in China due to a lack of professional HPC providers with positive behavioral intentions. Therefore, we conducted an original study introducing machine learning to explore individual behavioral intentions and detect factors of enablers of, and barriers to, excavating potential human resources and improving HPC accessibility. Methods A cross-sectional study was designed to investigate healthcare providers' behavioral intentions, knowledge, attitudes, and practices in hospice care (KAPHC) with an indigenized KAPHC scale. Binary Logistic Regression and Random Forest Classifier (RFC) were performed to model impacting and predict individual behavioral intentions. Results The RFC showed high sensitivity (accuracy = 0.75; F1 score = 0.84; recall = 0.94). Attitude could directly or indirectly improve work enthusiasm and is the most efficient approach to reveal behavioral intentions. Continuous practice could also improve individual confidence and willingness to provide HPC. In addition, scientific knowledge and related skills were the foundation of implementing HPC. Conclusion Individual behavioral intention is crucial for improving HPC accessibility, particularly at the initial stage. A well-trained RFC can help estimate individual behavioral intentions to organize a productive team and promote additional policies.

Abstract
To provide an adequate proximal landing zone, left subclavian artery (LSA) reconstruction has become an important part of thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR). This study evaluates the short and medium term efficacy of a novel unibody single-branched stent graft for zone 2 TEVAR. Fifty-two patients (mean age, 56 ± 10.9 years; 42 men) with distal aortic arch lesions requiring LSA reconstruction received unibody single-branched stents from September 2019 to March 2021. Computed tomography angiography was performed 6, 12, and 24 months after surgery to observe stent morphology, branch patency, endoleaks, stent-related adverse events, and changes in the diameter of true and false lumens. All stents were deployed adequately, and the technical success rate was 100%. The mean operation time was 121.8 ± 47.0 min. The mean postoperative hospital stay was 6.2 ± 3.7 days, and the mean follow-up was 16.8 ± 5.2 months (range, 12–24 months). During follow-up, there were no deaths and complications such as stent displacement or fracture, stenosis, fracture, occlusion, and type Ia endoleaks. The patency rate of the branched segment was 100%. In 42 patients with aortic dissection (AD), the true lumen diameter of the aortic isthmus was 29.4 ± 2.9 mm after surgery, significantly larger than before surgery (20.6 ± 5.4 mm, P < 0.05). Postoperative aortic isthmus false lumen diameter was significantly smaller than that before operation (6.1 ± 5.2 mm vs. 16.0 ± 7.6 mm, P < 0.05). The new unibody single-branched stent for zone 2 TEVAR is safe and accurate, and its efficacy is good in the short and medium term.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Few studies have examined the relationship between oral functions and the physical pre-frailty status, classified using physical function tests. This cross-sectional study aimed to clarify this association among community-dwelling older people from the Itoshima Frail Study in Itoshima Fukuoka Prefecture. METHODS Of the 1,555 individuals invited to join the study, 381 (188 males and 193 females) enrolled. Their physical pre-frailty was assessed with a classification system consisting of two physical indicators (fatigue and unintentional weight loss, determined with a questionnaire), two functional components (declined walking speed and muscle weakness, determined using a body function measuring instrument), and declined physical activity (examined using a triaxial accelerometer). Subsequently, the individuals were classified into three groups: robust, pre-frailty, and frailty. Along with the number of teeth remaining, oral functions, such as masticatory performance, tongue pressure strength, and oral diadochokinesis (ODK), were examined. Data regarding social activity and exercise habits were collected, and the individuals' body compositions were measured. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for the physical pre-frailty were calculated using logistic regression models. RESULTS In this study, 126 (33%) participants presented with physical pre-frailty. The participants in the robust group were younger, had stronger maximum handgrip strength, and walked faster than those in the physical pre-frailty group (p < 0.001). The robust group presented with better oral functions (masticatory performance, p = 0.015; oral ODK /ta/, p = 0.004). The physical pre-frailty status was significantly associated with age (OR, 1.111; 95% CI, 1.048-1.178; p < 0.001), masticatory performance (OR, 0.819; 95% CI, 0.680-0.986; p = 0.035), low ODK/ta/ (OR, 1.864; 95% CI, 1.069-3.250; p = 0.028), and low social activity (OR, 2.273; 95% CI, 1.308-3.951; p = 0.004). CONCLUSION This study indicated that older people with higher age, lower anterior tongue movement, lower masticatory performance, and lower social activity are positively associated with physical pre-frailty.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of the degrees of myelosuppression on the curative effect and prognosis of triple-negative breast cancer with neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Methods: The clinical, pathological and follow-up data of 206 patients with triple negative breast cancer who received neoadjuvant chemotherapy with docetaxel combined with epirubicin combined with cyclophosphamide regimen in the Department of Breast Surgery in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2013 to December 2018 were collected retrospectively. All were female, aged 28-71 (47.8±10.7) years. According to the WHO classification standard of acute and subacute toxicity of anticancer drugs, the patients were divided into 98 cases in the mild group (0-Ⅱ degree) and 108 cases in the severe group (Ⅲ-Ⅳ degree) according to the degree of bone marrow suppression after chemotherapy. The baseline clinicopathological features, pathological complete remission rate (PCR) and objective remission rate (ORR) of the two groups were compared. The survival curve was drawn by Kaplan Meier method, and the differences of disease-free survival (DFS), local recurrence free survival (LRFS), distant metastasis free survival (DMFS) and overall survival (OS) between the two groups were analyzed by log rank test. Cox regression risk model was used to analyze the related factors affecting the survival of the patients. Results: There were no significant differences in baseline clinicopathological characteristics of patients between the two groups, such as age, physical status score, menopausal status, body mass index, histological grade, clinical T stage, clinical N stage and Ki-67 index (all P>0.05). The severe group had higher PCR, longer median DFS and median DMFS than the mild group [50.9%(55/108) vs 36.7%(36/98); not reached vs 72 months; not reached vs 84 months] (all P<0.05). There was no significant difference in ORR, LRFS and OS between the two groups [89.8%(97/108) vs 81.6%(80/98); both not reached; both not reached] (all P>0.05). The degree of bone marrow suppression after neoadjuvant chemotherapy was an influential factor of DFS in TNBC patients (P=0.025). Compared with mild myelosuppression group, severe myelosuppression group had better disease-free survival prognosis (HR=0.571, 95%CI: 0.349-0.934). Conclusion: The prognosis of grade Ⅲ/Ⅳ myelosuppression is better than grade 0/Ⅰ/Ⅱ myelosuppression in patients with triple-negative breast cancer during neoadjuvant chemotherapy with TEC regimen, which is helpful for judging efficacy.

Abstract
Equations of motion for compressible point vortices in the plane are obtained in the limit of small Mach number, M, using a Rayleigh-Jansen expansion and the method of Matched Asymptotic Expansions. The solution in the region between vortices is matched to solutions around each vortex core. The motion of the vortices is modified over long time scales [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]. Examples are given for co-rotating and co-propagating vortex pairs. The former show a correction to the rotation rate and, in general, to the centre and radius of rotation, while the latter recover the known result that the steady propagation velocity is unchanged. For unsteady configurations, the vortex solution matches to a far field in which acoustic waves are radiated. Abstract
Background This study aimed to investigate the safety of direct innominate arterial (IA) cannulation using a pediatric arterial cannula to establish selective antegrade cerebral perfusion (ACP) during total arch replacement (TAR) for acute Stanford type A aortic dissection (ATAAD). Methods This retrospective study included patients with ATAAD who underwent TAR with the frozen elephant trunk (FET) technique between October 2020 and November 2021. Patients treated with direct IA cannulation using a pediatric arterial cannula for selective anterograde cerebral perfusion were included in the study. Results Of the 29 patients, 24 (82.8%) were male. The average age was 50.9 ± 9.47 years. Proximal repair included aortic root plasty (27 patients, [93.1%]) and Bentall surgery (2 patients, [6.9%]). Perioperative mortality and stroke rates were 3.4% and 6.9%, respectively. The mean lowest core temperature was 23.8 ± 0.74 °C and the mean ACP time was 25 ± 6.4 min. The aortic cross-clamp and cardiopulmonary bypass times were 141 ± 28 and 202 ± 29 min, respectively. There were no cases of IA injuries. Conclusion Direct IA cannulation using a pediatric arterial cannula is a simple, safe, and effective technique for establishing ACP during TAR with the FET technique for ATAAD and can avoid the potential complications of axillary artery cannulation.

Abstract
Background The relationship between body mass index (BMI) and postoperative mortality in patients who undergo coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery plus valve replacement is uncertain. We aimed to investigate the association between body mass index (BMI) and postoperative mortality among patients who simultaneously underwent both CABG surgery plus valve replacement. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 1976 patients who underwent CABG surgery at our hospital between January 2017 and April 2021, including 202 patients who underwent valve replacement surgery during the same period. We analyzed the relationship between BMI and postoperative mortality. The relationship between BMI and postoperative mortality was assessed using smooth curve fitting and a Multiple logistic regression model. Results The results of smoothing curve fitting showed that BMI and postoperative mortality had a non-linear relationship, and the resulting curve exhibited a two-stage change and a breakpoint. Postoperative mortality is higher in patients that have a body mass index above 25 kg/m2 compared to patients having a body mass index between 18 and 25 kg/m2. Conclusions Our study found a non-linear relationship between BMI and postoperative mortality in patients undergoing CABG plus valve replacement after adjusting for potential confounders. The causal relationship between BMI and postoperative mortality still requires further investigations.

Abstract
Background Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) resistance frequently occurs in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). EGFR Thr790Met mutation (T790M+) is seen in ∼50% of patients. We assessed the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of BPI-15086, a novel, ATP-competitive, irreversible, third-generation, mutation-selective EGFR-TKI in patients with EGFR T790M-mutated NSCLC. Patients and methods This two-center, phase I, dose-escalation study included patients who were 18-65 years old, with an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status of 0-2, with histologically or cytologically confirmed locally advanced or metastatic T790M+ NSCLC who were not surgical or radiotherapy candidates, and had imaging-identified disease progression after prior EGFR-TKIs. This dose-escalation study enrolled patients using a 3 + 3 study design. Patients received 25, 50, 100, 200, and 300 mg/day orally in 21-day cycles. The primary endpoints were safety, tolerability, and PK. Secondary endpoints were objective response rate (ORR) and disease control rate (DCR). The dose-expansion study was not conducted. Results We enrolled 17 patients from 29 December 2016 to 16 May 2018, in the safety and full analysis sets. All patients completed a single dosing trial, and no adverse events (AEs) causing drug discontinuation were seen. Grade 1-2 nausea, hypoalbuminemia, and decreased appetite were the most common treatment-related AEs. Grade 3 hyperglycemia was seen in one patient dosed at 300 mg/day. The ORR and DCR were 17.7% [95% confidence interval (CI) 3.8% to 43.4%] and 47.1% (95% CI 23.0% to 72.2%), respectively. Conclusion BPI-15086 is a safe and tolerable third-generation EGFR-TKI with a rationale for further clinical studies. BPI-15086 is safe and has partial effectiveness in patients with advanced T790M+ NSCLC after previous EGFR-TKI therapy. A different safety profile for BPI-15086 compared with other third-generation EGFR-TKIs. The modest efficacy in this study is still deemed important and should be added to the literature of third-generation TKIs.

Abstract
Following vein grafting, the vein must adapt to arterial hemodynamics, which can lead to intimal hyperplasia (IH) and restenosis. Moreover, endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndMT) components are highly associated with IH. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to design an extravascular film loaded with rapamycin (extravascular rapamycin film [ERF]) to limit vein graft stenosis. The film exhibited stable physicochemical properties as well as in vivo and in vitro biocompatibility. In vivo, the film inhibited the EndMT by activating the autophagy pathway. Moreover, rapamycin enhanced this biological effect. Collectively, these findings highlighted the applicability of ERF as a new therapeutic target for preventing vein graft restenosis.

Poly(rC)-binding protein 1 (PCBP1) has been identified as a promising biomarker of RA, while its molecular mechanisms in RA development are unknown. As a canonical RNA binding protein, we propose that PCBP1 could play roles in RA by affecting both expression and alternative splicing levels in Th1 cells. Here, microarray datasets (GSE15573 and GSE23561), including 102 peripheral blood mononuclear cell samples from 39 RA patients and 63 controls, were used to evaluate the PCBP1 expression changes in RA patients. High throughput sequencing data (GSE84702) of iron driven pathogenesis in Th1 cells were downloaded and reanalyzed, including two Pcbp1 deficiency samples and two control samples in Th1 cells. In addition, CLIP-seq data of PCBP1 in Jurkat T cells was also analyzed to investigate the regulatory mechanisms of PCBP1. We found PCBP1 were down-regulated in RA specimens compared with control. The result of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) showed that Pcbp1 silencing in Th1 cells affected the expression of genes involved in immune response pathway. Alternative splicing analysis also revealed that PCBP1-regulated alternative splicing genes (RASGs) were enriched in TNF-a/NF-κB signaling pathway, T cell activation, T cell differentiation and T cell differentiation associated immune response pathways, which were highly associated with RA. DEGs and RASGs by Pcbp1 deficiency in mice were validated in PBMCs specimens of RA patients by RT-qPCR. Investigation of the CLIP-seq data revealed PCBP1 preferred to bind to 3′UTR and intron regions. PCBP1-bound genes were also significantly associated with RASGs, identifying 102 overlapped genes of these two gene sets. These genes were significantly enriched in several immune response related pathways, including myeloid cell differentiation and positive regulation of NF-κB transcription factor activity. Two RA-related genes, PML and IRAK1, were screened from the above immune related pathways. These results together support our hypothesis that PCBP1 can regulate the expression of genes involved in immune response pathway, and can bind to and regulate the alternative splicing of immune response related genes in immune T cells, and ultimately participate in the molecular mechanism of RA, providing new research ideas and directions for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract
A single injection of low-dose human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs) has been previously demonstrated to relieve synovitis and bone erosion in animal models of arthritis, but whether frequent injections of high-dose UC-MSCs relieve arthritis and inhibit loss of muscle mass has remained elusive. In the present study, DBA/1 mice were randomly divided into three groups: Normal (wild-type mice; n=11), collagen-induced arthritis (CIA; n=12) and CIA treated with UC-MSCs (n=11; 5x106 UC-MSCs per week for 3 weeks). Arthritis and skeletal muscle cachexia were evaluated until the end of the experiment on day 84. It was indicated that both the CIA and UC-MSC groups had lower body weights compared with the normal mice. Clinical arthritis scores, hind ankle diameters, synovitis and bone erosion progressively increased and were similar between the CIA and UC-MSC groups. Although there was no difference in food intake among the three groups, the normalized food intake of normal group was significantly higher than CIA group and UC-MSC group from day 42 onwards; there was no significance on day 77 but this could be neglected. Furthermore, gastrocnemius muscle weight in the UC-MSC group was significantly reduced compared with that in the CIA and normal groups. The UC-MSC group had higher levels of proinflammatory cytokines, such as TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β than those in the CIA group. However, the other cytokines assessed and the fibrosis indices in the CIA and UC-MSC groups were not different from those in the control group and there was no inflammatory cell infiltration. Thus, frequent injections of high-dose UC-MSCs slightly aggravated synovitis and muscle cachexia in the murine CIA model and should therefore be avoided in the treatment of arthritis.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION It is known that oral frailty is one of the risk factors for physical frailty. Therefore, early detection, appropriate treatment, and prevention of oral frailty are really important. Tongue lifting exercise has been identified as a well-known method for improving decreased tongue pressure, one of the factors for oral frailty. However, few reports have investigated how tongue-strengthening exercises affect physical function and body composition. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of isometric tongue lifting exercises on oral function, physical function, and body composition. METHODS Participants were 49 elderly people aged 68-79 years, who had previously participated in the "Itoshima Frail Study." Participants performed isometric tongue lift exercises for 3 months. Oral function (tongue pressure and oral diadocokinesis), physical function (grip strength, open-eyed one-leg standing, sit-to-stand motion time, 5-m gait speed, and 3-m Timed up and go [TUG]), and body composition were measured at baseline and post-intervention, and the extent of changes in each item was statistically analyzed. Furthermore, participants were divided into physical frailty/pre-frailty and robust groups based on the Japanese version of the frail scale proposed by [BMC Geriatr. 2015 Apr;15:36] and were compared in terms of the extent of changes in each item baseline and the post-intervention. RESULTS After the intervention, oral function increased significantly together with a significant improvement in physical function, open-eyed one-leg standing time, sit-to-stand motion, and 3-m TUG. For body composition, visceral fat level and basal metabolic rate decreased significantly. Although no significant change in body composition was observed in the physical frailty/pre-frailty group after the intervention, significant improvements in several items were observed in the robust group. CONCLUSION Isometric tongue lifting exercise can effectively improve oral function. Furthermore, it might affect physical function and body composition.

Abstract
AIM This study proposes a new artificial intelligence model based on cardiovascular computed tomography for more efficient and precise recognition of Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). METHODS Our model is a structurally optimized stochastic pooling convolutional neural network (SOSPCNN), which combines stochastic pooling, structural optimization, and convolutional neural network. In addition, multiple-way data augmentation is used to overcome overfitting. Grad-CAM is employed to provide explainability to the proposed SOSPCNN model. Meanwhile, both desktop and web apps are developed based on this SOSPCNN model. RESULTS The results on ten runs of 10-fold cross-validation show that our SOSPCNN model yields a sensitivity of 92.25±2.19, a specificity of 92.75±2.49, a precision of 92.79±2.29, an accuracy of 92.50±1.18, an F1 score of 92.48±1.17, an MCC of 85.06±2.38, an FMI of 92.50±1.17, and an AUC of 0.9587. CONCLUSION The SOSPCNN method performed better than three state-of-the-art TOF recognition approaches.

Abstract
Objective: Early treatment-naïve rheumatoid arthritis (RA) has defective regulatory T (Treg) cells and increased inflammation response. In this study, we aim to illustrate the regulation of Treg cells in pathogenesis of early rheumatoid arthritis by arsenic trioxide (As2O3). Methods: We studied the effects of As2O3 on gene expression in early treatment-naïve RA Treg cells with single cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq). Treg cells were sorted from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and purified by fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) and cultured with or without As2O3 (at 0.1 µM) for 24 h. Total RNA was isolated and sequenced, and functional analysis was performed against the Gene Ontology (GO) database. Results for selected genes were confirmed with RT-qPCR. Results: As2O3 exerts no significant effect on CD4+ T-cell apoptosis under physical condition, and selectively modulate CD4+ T cells toward Treg cells not Th17 cells under special polarizing stimulators. As2O3 increased the expression of 200 and reduced that of 272 genes with fold change (FC) 2.0 or greater. Several genes associated with inflammation, Treg-cell activation and differentiation as well as glucose and amino acids metabolism were among the most strongly affected genes. GO function analysis identified top ten ranked significant biological process (BPs), molecular functions (MFs), and cell components (CCs) in treatment and nontreatment Treg cells. In GO analysis, genes involved in the immunoregulation, cell apoptosis and cycle, inflammation, and cellular metabolism were enriched among the significantly affected genes. The KEGG pathway enrichment analysis identified the forkhead box O (FoxO) signal pathway, apoptosis, cytokine–cytokine receptor interaction, cell cycle, nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) signaling pathway, tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), p53 signaling pathway, and phosphatidylinositol 3′-kinase (PI3K)-Akt signaling pathway were involved in the pathogenesis of early treatment-naïve RA. Conclusion: This is the first study investigating the genome-wide effects of As2O3 on the gene expression of treatment-naïve Treg cells. In addition to clear anti-inflammatory and immunoregulation effects, As2O3 affect amino acids and glucose metabolism in Treg cells, an observation that might be particularly important in the metabolic phenotype of treatment-naïve RA.

Abstract
Vascular cognitive impairment, no dementia (VCIND) refers to cognitive deficits associated with underlying vascular causes that are insufficient to confirm a diagnosis of dementia. The default mode network (DMN) is a large-scale brain network of interacting brain regions involved in attention, working memory and executive function. The role of DMN white matter integrity in cognitive deficits of VCIND patients is unclear. Using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), this study was carried out to investigate white matter microstructural changes in the DMN in VCIND patients and their contributions to cognitive deficits. Thirty-one patients with subcortical VCIND and twenty-two healthy elderly subjects were recruited. All patients underwent neuropsychological assessments and DTI examination. Voxel-based analyses were performed to extract fractional anisotropy (FA) and mean diffusivity (MD) measures in the DMN. Compared with the healthy elderly subjects, patients diagnosed with subcortical VCIND presented with abnormal white matter integrity in several key hubs of the DMN. The severity of damage in the white matter microstructure in the DMN significantly correlated with cognitive dysfunction. Mediation analyses demonstrated that DTI values could account for attention, executive and language impairments, and partly mediated global cognitive dysfunction in the subcortical VCIND patients. DMN integrity is significantly impaired in subcortical VCIND patients. The disrupted DMN connectivity could explain the attention, language and executive dysfunction, which indicates that the white matter integrity of the DMN may be a neuroimaging marker for VCIND.

Abstract
We designed a turn-off near-infrared fluorescent fluoride chemosensor NIR-BODIPY-Si through the density functional theory/time-dependent functional theory calculations. In the designed sensor, the tert-butyldimethylsilyloxy moiety responses to the fluoride-triggered desilylation process, and the BODIPY dye serves as fluorophore. The molecular design firstly showed that the possibility of photoinduced electron transfer is low/high in NIR-BODIPY-Si/NIR-BODIPY-O (the desilylation product), thus referring that the fluorescence sensing mechanism is a photoinduced electron transfer mechanism that quenched the sensor's fluorescence after detection of fluoride anions. Absorption and emission spectra further demonstrated that the designed sensor is a near-infrared chemosensor. The largest binding energy between NIR-BODIPY-Si and F- suggests that the sensor has an excellent selectivity to F- and the low barrier of the desilylation reaction accounts for the sensor's rapid response speed to F-. We also provided the synthetic routine for the molecule sensor, with the expectation that this molecular design can shed some light on the experimentally based design procedure.

Abstract
Wearable sensors play a key role in point-of-care testing (POCT) for their flexible and integration capability for sensitive physiological and biochemical sensing. Here, we present a multifunction wearable silk patch with both electronic channels and microchannels by utilizing matrix-assisted sacrificial 3D printing methods. Owing to the unique properties of a composite silk film (polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and silk fibroin (SF)), the wearable sensors possess excellent tensile properties, self-healing ability and biocompatibility. Multi-layer channel (microfluidics and microcircuit)-integrated silk wearable sensors were then fabricated for simultaneous sensitive sensing of human cancer markers (carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP)) and motion monitoring. These features of the silk wearable sensors indicate their potential value for sensitive sensing, which will enable them to find broader applications in many fields in POCT, artificial skin and organ-on-a-chip systems.
