Abstract
The polyketide natural product cryptocaryol A is prepared in 8 steps via iridium catalyzed enantioselective diol double C-H allylation, which directly generates an acetate-based triketide stereodiad. In 4 previously reported total syntheses, 17-28 steps were required.

Abstract
We demonstrated tandem ring-opening/ring-closing metathesis (RO/RCM) polymerization of monomers containing two cyclopentene moieties and postmodification via insertion polymerization. In this system, well-defined polymers were efficiently formed by tandem cascade RO/RCM reaction pathway. Furthermore, these polymers could be transformed to new A,B-alternating copolymers via a sequential cross metathesis reaction with a diacrylate. Additionally, we demonstrated the concept of multiple olefin metathesis polymerization in which the dicyclopentene and diacrylate monomers underwent all three olefin metathesis transformations (ring-opening, ring-closing, and cross metathesis) in one shot to produce A,B-alternating copolymer.

Abstract
A versatile three-step, one-pot, sequential reaction protocol involving ring-closing metathesis, cross-metathesis, and chemoselective hydrogenation is reported. This phosphate tether-mediated process occurs without intermediate isolation, is chemoselective, and is governed by stereoelectronic properties innate to phosphate tethers, which ultimately act to preserve the integrity of the bisallylic, bicyclic phosphate for subsequent nucleophilic additions. Overall, this process can be used to efficiently generate advanced polyol synthons.

Abstract
An efficient synthesis of (-)-tetrahydrolipstatin (THL) is reported. This method takes advantage of a phosphate tether-mediated, one-pot, sequential RCM/CM/hydrogenation protocol to deliver THL in eight total steps from a readily prepared (S,S)-triene. The strategy incorporates selective cross-metathesis, regioselective hydrogenation, regio- and diastereoselective cuprate addition, and Mitsunobu inversion for installation of the C5 formamide ester subunit.

Abstract
[structure: see text] The first total synthesis of rollicosin, a member of a rare subgroup of Annonaceous acetogenins containing two terminal gamma-lactones, is reported. The approach features a highly regio- and stereoselective tandem ring-closing/cross-metathesis reaction for construction of the east-wing lactone and incorporation of the alkyl spacer. Establishment of the C4 stereocenter and addition of the west-wing lactone were achieved by Sharpless asymmetric dihydroxylation and enolate alkylation.

Abstract
A high-yielding enantioselective total synthesis of the bioactive styryllactone (+)-goniodiol has been realised, starting from readily available (S)-glycidol. A key step is an oxygen-to-carbon rearrangement of a silyl enol ether linked via an anomeric centre, facilitating the rapid and diastereoselective construction of this functionalised system.

Abstract
A strategy for the synthesis of chiral 5-(1-hydroxyalk-2-enyl)-5H-furan-2-ones and its application to the total synthesis of (-)-muricatacin, in four steps and 37% overall yield from (R,R)-hexa-1,5-diene-3,4-diol, are described. The key synthetic step in this approach is a highly regioselective and stereoselective tandem ring-closing/cross metathesis reaction in which both lactone formation and alkyl chain extension are accomplished in an efficient one-pot process.
