Abstract
Propargylamines are important classes of alkyne coupled amine compounds used in heterocyclic chemistry and pharmaceuticals chemistry and have a large impact as a pharmacophore used in medicinal chemistry. One of the straightforward approaches for the synthesis of this class of compound is A3 coupling, a three-component coupling reaction among aldehyde, alkyne (terminal acetylene) and amine. However, there are many methods other than conventional three component alkyne–aldehyde–amine (A3) coupling which have also been reported for the synthesis of propargylamine. Most of these methods are based on the metal catalyzed activation of terminal alkyne. From the perspective of green and sustainable chemistry, the scientific community should necessarily focus on metal-free techniques which can access a variety of propargylamines. There are only a few reports found in the literature where propargylamines were successfully synthesized under metal-free conditions. This present review article neatly and precisely encompasses the comprehensive study of metal-free protocols in propargylamine synthesis putting forth their mechanisms and other aspects. Abstract
Propargylamines are prominent components strikethrough as precursors for the synthesis of
miscellaneous nitrogen-containing compounds, such as allylamines, pyrrolidines, pyrroles and oxazoles
or as intermediates in the preparation of a various natural product, biologically active and pharmaceutical
compounds. The catalytic coupling of the aldehyde–alkyne–amine (A3 coupling) has shown great
utility in the simple and rapid preparation of propargylamines in broadly tolerant and highly tunable reaction
conditions. In this respect, various catalytic systems using transition metal catalysts have been
developed. Based on a literature survey, Cu catalysts have promoted this field substantially via development
of new methods for the synthesis of propargylamines. This review will cover copper-based catalyst
system reported for the synthesis of propargylamine derivatives until 2017.

Abstract
The use of solid catalysts to promote organic reactions in water faces the inherent difficulty of the poor mass-transfer efficiency of organic substances in water, which is often responsible for insufficient reaction and low yields. To solve this problem, the solid surface can be manipulated to become amphiphilic. However, the introduction of surfactant-like moieties onto the surface of silica-based materials is not easy. By using an accessible dihydropyran derivative as a grafting linker, a surfactant-combined bifunctional silica-based solid catalyst that possessed an ionic liquid tail and a metal acetylacetonate moiety was prepared through a mild Lewis-acid-catalyzed ring-opening reaction with a thiol-functionalized silica. The surfactant-combined silica-supported metal acetylacetone catalysts displayed excellent catalytic activity in water for a range of reactions. The solid catalyst was also shown to be recyclable, and was reused several times without significant loss in activity.

Abstract
Propargylamines are a versatile class of compounds which find broad application in many fields of chemistry. This review aims to describe the different strategies developed so far for the synthesis of propargylamines and their derivatives as well as to highlight their reactivity and use as building blocks in the synthesis of chemically relevant organic compounds. In the first part of the review, the different synthetic approaches to synthesize propargylamines, such as A3 couplings and C-H functionalization of alkynes, have been described and organized on the basis of the catalysts employed in the syntheses. Both racemic and enantioselective approaches have been reported. In the second part, an overview of the transformations of propargylamines into heterocyclic compounds such as pyrroles, pyridines, thiazoles, and oxazoles, as well as other relevant organic derivatives, is presented.
