Abstract
The level of interleukin-8 (IL-8) in the body is an effective factor for the early diagnosis of acute tubular necrosis and oral tumor. In this work, a novel sandwich-like voltametric immunosensor (SVS) of IL-8 was constructed by preparing β-cyclodextrin/carbon nanotube (CD/CNT) to immobilize primary antibody (PAb) of IL-8 and UIO-66-NH2 MOFs structure to immobilize second antibody (SAb) and methylene blue (Mb) probe. In this designed SVS, the prepared CD/CNT nanohybrid with large surface area and conductivity can immobilize PAb via simple host-guest recognition, and UIO-66-NH2 provided an ideal platform to accommodate SAb and a large number of Mb molecules as signal-amplifier. In the existence of target IL-8, the current peak of Mb from the SVS assay increases with the increasement of IL-8 level. Through optimizing and adjusting various factors, a wide linearity (0.001-2.5 ng mL-1) and low analytical limit (0.2 pg mL-1) of IL-8 were realized, so it's expected the developed SVS strategy has significant applications for the detection of IL-8.

Abstract
Herein we report electrochemiluminescence (ECL) generation from three new iridium(III)/ruthenium(II) (Ir(III)/Ru(II)) complexes with naphthyl (nap) tags in solutions and host-guest thin films. In comparison with its parent structure, the addition of a nap tag to [4-(2-naphthalenyl)-1,10-phenanthroline]bis(2,2'-bipyridine)ruthenium(II) results in a 6.1-fold enhancement in the ECL efficiency. Moreover, the nap tag enables the non-covalent immobilization of Ir(III)/Ru(II) complexes via host-guest interactions. Therefore, a molecular thin film was constructed by hydrophobic effects between the cavity of β-cyclodextrin and the nap tags, which emits stable and strong ECL emission in the presence of tri-n-propylamine (TPrA). These results give a mechanistic insight into ECL generation from (Ir(III)/Ru(II)) complexes with host-guest recognition tags and may help in the development of host-guest thin film-based ECL sensors.

Abstract
A reusable electrochemical glassy carbon electrode (GCE) platform based on the acid-responsive host-guest interaction between β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) and benzimidazole (BM) derivatives was developed. The β-CD can specifically recognize the BM derivative through the acid -responsive host-guest interaction. The electrode was first modified by eletrografting to immobilize a diamine linker (Boc-EDA), resulting in GCEBoc-EDA in which one amine was used for covalent immobilization to the electrode and another Boc protected amine was used to solid-phase synthesis on following step-by-step modifications on the electrode. After deprotection of the Boc group on the GCEBoc-EDA, carbonyldiimidazole (CDI)-activated β-CD was coupled with -NH2 on the electrode to result in GCEβ-CD. Due to the nonspecific interaction, we further improved the GCEβ-CD electrode by introducing immobilized poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether (PEG-Me) to result in GCEβ-CD/PEG-Me, along with optimized procedures. CV, DPV, and EIS methods were applied for recording the electrochemistry signals. We utilized GCEβ-CD/PEG-Me to investigate the host-guest interaction and found the electrochemical signal exhibited dynamic behavior. The GCEβ-CD/PEG-Me was able to regenerate the β-CD surface more than 20 times after HCl acidic washes. We further investigated the interaction of carbendazim (CBZ), a commonly used fungicide in the agriculture and food industry, and observed a positive electrochemical response. The sensor design has potential applications in ensuring food safety.

Abstract
Rutin, as a biological flavonoid glycoside, has very important medicinal value. The accurate and rapid detection of rutin is of great significance. Herein, an ultrasensitive electrochemical rutin sensor based on β-cyclodextrin metal-organic framework/reduced graphene oxide (β-CD-Ni-MOF-74/rGO) was constructed. The obtained β-CD-Ni-MOF-74 was characterized by X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and nitrogen adsorption and desorption. The β-CD-Ni-MOF-74/rGO presented good electrochemical properties benefiting from the large specific surface area and good adsorption enrichment effect of β-CD-Ni-MOF-74 and the good conductivity of rGO. Under optimal conditions for the detection of rutin, the β-CD-Ni-MOF-74/rGO/GCE showed a wider linear range (0.06-1.0 μM) and lower detection limit (LOD, 0.68 nM, (S/N = 3)). Furthermore, the sensor shows good accuracy and stability for the detection of rutin in actual samples.

Influence of β-Cyclodextrin Methylation on Host-Guest Complex Stability: A Theoretical Study of Intra- and Intermolecular Interactions as Well as Host Dimer Formation. Molecules 2023; 28:molecules28062625. Abstract
Understanding the non-covalent interactions in host-guest complexes is crucial to their stability, design and applications. Here, we use density functional theory to compare the ability of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) and heptakis(2,6-di-O-methyl)-β-cyclodextrin (DM-β-CD) to encapsulate the model guest phenol. For both macrocycles, we quantify the intramolecular interactions before and after the formation of the complex, as well as the intermolecular host-guest and host-host dimer interactions. These are individually classified as van der Waals interactions or hydrogen bonds, respectively. The results show a stronger intramolecular binding energy of β-CD, with the absolute difference being −5.53 kcal/mol relative to DM-β-CD. Consequently, the intermolecular interactions of both cyclodextrins with phenol are affected, such that the free binding energy calculated for the DM-β-CD/phenol complex (−5.23 kcal/mol) is ≈50% more negative than for the complex with β-CD (−2.62 kcal/mol). The latter is in excellent agreement with the experimental data (−2.69 kcal/mol), which validates the level of theory (B97-3c) used. Taken together, the methylation of β-CD increases the stability of the host-guest complex with the here studied guest phenol through stronger van der Waals interactions and hydrogen bonds. We attribute this to the disruption of the hydrogen bond network in the primary face of β-CD upon methylation, which influences the flexibility of the host toward the guest as well as the strength of the intermolecular interactions. Our work provides fundamental insights into the impact of different non-covalent interactions on host-guest stability, and we suggest that this theoretical framework can be adapted to other host-guest complexes to evaluate and quantify their non-covalent interactions.

Abstract
As a dimeric protein, thyroglobulin (Tg) is an important biomarker for different thyroid cancer (DTC), so designing effective method to detect Tg is of great significance. In this work, by preparing β-cyclodextrin (CD) functionalized carbon nanotubes (CNTs) nanohybrid (CD-CNTs) as carrier to immobilize primary antibody (Ab1) of Tg, assembling sulfydryl ferrocene (Fc) and secondary antibody (Ab2) on the surface of nanogold (Au) as signaling amplifier (Ab2-Au-Fc), a simple and sensitive sandwich-type electrochemical immunoassay (STEM) of Tg was designed herein for the first time. In brief, CNTs show large surface area and conductivity, while CD offers superior host-guest recognition capability that can bound with Ab1; meanwhile, Fc probe can offer stable electrochemical signal that is proportionable to the concentration of Tg. Under the optimum conditions, the proposed STEM platform shows excellent sensing results for Tg detection: a considerable low analytical detection (0.5 ng mL-1) and wide linearity (2 to 200 ng mL-1), suggesting the designed STEM platform offers potential real applications for detect Tg.

Abstract
Here we report a novel labeling strategy for electrochemical aptasensors based on enzymatic marking via supramolecular host–guest interactions. This approach relies on the use of an adamantane-modified target-responsive hairpin DNA aptamer as an affinity bioreceptor, and a neoglycoconjugate of β-cyclodextin (CD) covalently attached to a redox enzyme as a labeling element. As a proof of concept, an amperometric aptasensor for a carcinoembryonic antigen was assembled on screen-printed carbon electrodes modified with electrodeposited fern-like gold nanoparticles/graphene oxide and, by using a horseradish peroxidase-CD neoglycoenzyme as a biocatalytic redox label. This aptasensor was able to detect the biomarker in the concentration range from 10 pg/mL to 1 ng/mL with a high selectivity and a low detection limit of 3.1 pg/mL in human serum samples.

Abstract
At present, chiral electroanalysis of nonelectroactive chiral compounds still remains a challenge because they cannot provide an electrochemical signal by themselves. Here, a strategy based on a competitive self-assembly interaction of a ferrocene (Fc) unit and the testing isomers entering into the cavity of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) was carried out for chiral electroanalysis. First of all, the Fc derivative was directly bridged to silica microspheres, followed by inclusion into the cavity of β-CD. As expected, once it was modified onto the surface of a carbon working electrode as an electrochemical sensor, SiO2@Fc-CD-WE, its differential pulse voltammetry signal would markedly decrease compared with the uncovered Fc. Next, when l- and d-isomers of amino acids that included histidine, threonine, phenylalanine, and glutamic acid were examined using SiO2@Fc-CD-WE, it showed an enantioselective entry of amino acids into the cavity of β-cyclodextrin instead of Fc, resulting in the release of Fc with signal enhancement. For histidine, glutamic acid, and threonine, l-isomers showed a higher peak current response compared with d-isomers. The peak current ratios between l- and d-isomers were 2.88, 1.21, and 1.40, respectively. At the same time, the opposite phenomenon occurred for phenylalanine with a peak current ratio of 3.19 between d- and l-isomers. In summary, we are assured that the recognition strategy based on the supramolecular interaction can enlarge the detection range of chiral compounds by electrochemical analysis.

Abstract
Lead is one of the most toxic metals for living organisms: once absorbed by soft tissues, it is capable of triggering various pathologies, subsequently bioaccumulating in the bones. In consideration of this, its detection and quantification in products for human consumption and use is of great interest, especially if the procedure can be carried out in an easy, reproducible and economical way. This work presents the results of the electroanalytical determination of lead in three different commercial products used as progressive hair dyes. Analyses were performed by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse stripping voltammetry (DPSV) using a composite cork–graphite sensor in 0.5M H2SO4 solution or 0.1M acetate buffer (pH 4.5), in the presence and absence of hair dye samples. The H2SO4 solution gave better results in terms of analyte sensitivity than the acetate buffer electrolyte. In both cases, well-defined signals for lead were obtained by DPSV analyses, enabling the calibration curve and figures of merit to be determined. The limits of detection (LOD) were found to be approximately 1.06 µM and 1.26 µM in H2SO4 and acetate buffer, respectively. The DPSV standard addition method was successfully applied to quantify the lead in hair dye samples, yielding values below 0.45% in Pb. All three analyzed samples were shown to comply with the limit set by the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency, i.e., 0.6% lead in this type of product. The comparison of the electroanalytical results with those obtained by the reference method, based on the use of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP–OES), confirmed that the electroanalytical detection approach is potentially applicable as a strategy for quality control.

Abstract
Various methods have been proposed currently to detect amethopterin (ATP, a widely used anticancer drug that is also called methotrexate); however, a simple and low-cost electrochemical method coupled with high sensitivity is scarce. In this study, by using low-cost and readily available nanocarbon black (NCB), which has excellent conductivity and stable dispersion in water as well as large surface area, as electrode materials to modify a glassy carbon electrode (GCE), a simple, inexpensive and highly-sensitive electrochemical sensor was constructed based on NCB/GCE. The electrochemical behaviors of ATP at both NCB/GCE and GCE were studied; the results show that the peak current of ATP at NCB/GCE is extremely higher than that at the bare GCE. For sensing ATP with high sensitivity, various control conditions including accumulation time, pH values of the phosphate buffer solution and NCB amount were optimized. The quantitative testing results show that NCB/GCE presents excellent sensing performances with a wide linearity range from 0.01 to 10.0 μM and low limit of detection (4.0 nM) towards ATP. Moreover, the investigation in the reproducibility and stability as well as selectivity of NCB/GCE demonstrated that the related results are also satisfactory. It is thus simple and effective method for ATP analysis and has important applications.

Abstract
A composite material prepared by polymerization of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) on the surface of natural hydroxyapatite using citric acid as cross linker, was employed as electrode material for the detection of Pb(II). Hydroxyapatite was obtained from bovine bones, following a three-step procedure including pre-calcination, chemical treatment with (NH4)2HPO4, and calcination. The structure and morphology of the pristine hydroxyapatite (NHAPP0.5) and its functionalized counterpart (NHAPp0.5-CA-β-CD) were examined using XRD, FTIR, and SEM. Upon deposition as thin film on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE), the ion exchange ability of NHAPp0.5-CA-β-CD was exploited to elaborate a sensitive sensor for the detection of lead. The electroanalytical procedure was based on the chemical accumulation of Pb(II) ions under open-circuit conditions, followed by the detection of the preconcentrated species using differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry. The reproducibility of the proposed method, based on a series of 8 measurements in a solution containing 2 μM Pb(II) gave a coefficient of variation of 1.27%. Significant parameters that can affect the stripping response of Pb(II) were optimized, leading to a linear calibration curve for lead in the concentration range of 2 × 10-8 mol L-1 - 20 × 10-8 mol L-1 (R2 = 0.998). The detection limit (3S/m) and the sensitivity of the proposed sensor were 5.06 × 10-10 mol L-1 and 100.80 μA.μM-1, respectively. The interfering effect of several ions expected to affect the determination of lead was evaluated, and the proposed sensor was successfully applied in the determination of Pb(II) ions in spring water, well water, river water and tap water samples.

Abstract
Cyclodextrins (CDs) are a good alternative to reduce or enhance different biomolecule characteristics and have demonstrated great results in food science. However, CDs present intrinsic limitations that can be solved by derivative synthesis. This review represents a survey of the state of the art of CD-based materials and their uses in food science. A deep review of the structure is carried out and different groups for ordination are suggested. After that, different applications such as cholesterol complexation or its use as sensors are reviewed. The derivatives show novel and promising activities for the industry. A critical perspective of the materials suggests that they might not present toxicity, although more studies are required. These points suggest that the research in this field will be increased in the following years.

Abstract
Environmental pollution has brought adverse socio-economic consequences. Organic pollutants and heavy metals are the main culprits of environmental pollution. It is of great importance to develop novel, simple, rapid, sensitive, and low-cost detection approaches for sensing trace pollutants in environmental samples. A lot of detection strategies which are based on varieties of nanomaterials have been developed for environmental analysis in past decades. In this review, we retrospect a variety of nanomaterials decorated with cyclodextrins (CDs), including carbon nanomaterials decorated with CDs, noble metal nanomaterials decorated with CDs and other nanomaterials decorated with CDs, and their application in environmental analysis. CDs is a type of ideal modifying molecules which could recognize targets, improve the solubility and dispersibility of corresponding functionalized materials, and enhance the detecting performance of designed sensors. CDs have been widely immobilized to carbon nanomaterials, noble metal nanomaterials, phosphorene (BP) nanocomposites, metal organic framework (MOF), and magnetic nanomaterials, and these nanocomposites have been utilized as the sensing elements for different target analytes. Immobilizing CDs on different nanomaterials could extremely expand the development of new sensing systems for environmental analysis based on these materials, greatly broaden the species of sensing targets, and apparently improve their sensing performance. Herein, the nanomaterials decorated with CDs, as sensing elements for environmental analysis, were reviewed including the types of nanomaterials decorated with CDs and their applications in various sensing strategies for environmental analysis. Finally, the perspectives of the nanomaterials decorated with CDs used as sensing elements were also discussed.

Abstract
The present study reports the development of an electrochemical sensor based on sulfobutylether-β-cyclodextrin modified reduced graphene oxide hybrid (SBCD-rGO) for simultaneous detection of nitrophenol isomers. First, SBCD-rGO hybrid was synthesized and detailed characterized. Afterwards, a sensor was fabricated via the modification of glassy carbon electrode (GCE) with SBCD-rGO, and its electrochemical detection performances were also investigated. Then, the constructed electrochemical sensor was applied to detect nitrophenol isomers by voltammetry analysis. The results suggested that the sensitivities were 389.26, 280.88 and 217.19 μA/mM for p-nitrophenol (p-NP), m-nitrophenol (m-NP), and o-nitrophenol (o-NP), respectively, and their corresponding detection limits were all about 0.05 μM. Significantly, the combination of voltammetry analysis with the constructed sensor and data analysis by multiple linear regression realized the simultaneous detection of nitrophenol isomers.

Abstract
Supramolecular chemistry, although focused mainly on noncovalent intermolecular and intramolecular interactions, which are considerably weaker than covalent interactions, can be employed to fabricate sensors with a remarkable affinity for a target analyte. In this review the development of cyclodextrin-based electrochemical sensors is described and discussed. Following a short introduction to the general properties of cyclodextrins and their ability to form inclusion complexes, the cyclodextrin-based sensors are introduced. This includes the combination of cyclodextrins with reduced graphene oxide, carbon nanotubes, conducting polymers, enzymes and aptamers, and electropolymerized cyclodextrin films. The applications of these materials as chiral recognition agents and biosensors and in the electrochemical detection of environmental contaminants, biomolecules and amino acids, drugs and flavonoids are reviewed and compared. Based on the papers reviewed, it is clear that cyclodextrins are promising molecular recognition agents in the creation of electrochemical sensors, chiral sensors, and biosensors. Moreover, they have been combined with a host of materials to enhance the detection of the target analytes. Nevertheless, challenges remain, including the development of more robust methods for the integration of cyclodextrins into the sensing unit.

Abstract
Positional isomer recognition is a challenging scientific issue. Fast and accurate detection of isomers is required for understanding their chemical properties. Here, we describe a method for simultaneous recognition of three positional isomers of 2-aminobenzenesulfonic acid (2-ABSA), 3-ABSA, and 4-ABSA using trapped ion mobility spectroscopy-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TIMS-TOF-MS). The three ABSA positional isomers were recognized by measuring the different ion mobility of the ternary complexes of [β-cyclodextrin (CD)+ABSA + Li]+ or [λ-CD + ABSA + Na]+, because their different collision cross-sections or different spatial conformations. The collision-induced dissociation mechanism of the different complexes of [β-CD + ABSA + Li]+ and [λ-CD + ABSA + Na]+ using tandem mass spectrometry exhibited the same dissociation process with slightly different dissociation energies, which the smaller cross-section requires higher collision energy that means the smaller complex with tighter and more stable conformation than a larger complex for the ABSA complexes. In addition, relative quantification of the ABSA isomers was studied by measuring any two of the three ABSA isomer complexes at different molar ratio of 10:1 to 1:10 in the μM range, good linearity (R2 > 0.99) with precision between 2.14% and 2.58%, and accuracy ≥ 97.1% were obtained. The method for fast determination and recognition of ABSA positional isomers by combination with CD and alkali metal ions possesses the advantages of being simple, direct, rapid, sensitive, cost-effective, and needs no chemical derivatives or chromatographic separation before analysis. Therefore, the proposed method would be a powerful tool for the analysis of ABSA isomers or even other positional isomers.

Abstract
In this work, by functionalizing MoS2 quantum dot with 3-aminobenzeneboronic acid, a novel multifunctional quantum dot (denoted as B-MoS2 QD) was obtained and used successfully for a fluorescence nanoprobe for detecting o-dihydroxybenzene (o-DHB). Transmission electron microscopy, fluorescence spectrum, UV-vis spectrum and fluorescence lifetime were used to investigate the prepared nanoprobe. The results show that the B-MoS2 QD nanoprobe can exhibit strong fluorescence and excellent light fastness owing to the coupled effect from the MoS2 QDs and boronic acid; interestingly, the vicinal diols structure from its surface can bridge covalently with o-DHB, resulting in the fluorescence quenching of B-MoS2 QDs and selective recognition toward o-DHB. With the increasing of o-DHB concentration, the nanoprobe fluorescence would gradually decrease. By measuring the fluorescence intensity of B-MoS2 QDs, a wide linear range from 0.1 to 200.0 μM with a low detection limit of 0.025 μM was obtained for o-DHB analysis; meanwhile, this fluorescence nanoprobe possesses excellent selectivity for the selective detection of o-DHB from its analogues.

Abstract
Cholesterol plays a vital role in a human body. It is known as one of the most important sterols, because it forms cell walls and participates in signal transduction. Moreover, cholesterol was recognized as biomarker of cardiovascular diseases and of some metabolic disorders. As a result, cholesterol blood levels should be controlled in a variety of diseases such as ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular ischemia, stroke, hypertension, type II diabetes, and many others. Hence, the accurate cholesterol quantification plays an important role in diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. Modern voltammetric and amperometric methods are increasingly used for cholesterol monitoring. Consequently, the problem of electrode fabrication for cholesterol detection has high importance for clinical tests. Novel electrode materials initiated the fast growth of electrochemical biosensors. Biomaterials are still the most frequently used modifiers for cholesterol sensors due to their high selectivity. However, biomaterials have low stability complicating their practical applications. This fact is crucial for analytical parameters such as limit of detection (LOD) and sensitivity. Therefore, nanomaterials are used to eliminate disadvantages of biomaterials and to improve sensors performance by increasing the electrode surface, conductivity and sensitivity. This review is focused on the use of non-enzymatic electrodes for cholesterol quantification and on different approaches to their fabrication. Firstly, the necessity and role of modifier is discussed. Afterwards, the advantages and disadvantages of currently used modifiers are critically compared together with all aspects and approaches to sensors fabrication. Finally, the prospects of non-enzymatic electrodes application for cholesterol sensors engineering are summarised.

Abstract
The increasing use of cyclodextrins (CDs) as host-molecules for host-guest complexes and their remediation application in environmental science requires to establish easily accessible models of "quantitative structure-activity relationships" (QSARs) to predict the binding constants. A new open-source molecular descriptor, so called spectrophores, was utilised to build 3D-QSAR models which have R2 of 0.95 and RMSE of 0.20.

Abstract
Organic-inorganic hybrid macrocyclic compounds, cyclic polyphenylsilsesquioxanes (cyc-PSQs), have been synthesized through hydrolysis and condensation reactions of phenyltrichlorosilane. Structural characterization has revealed that cyc-PSQs consist of a closed-ring double-chain siloxane inorganic backbone bearing organic phenyl groups. The cyc-PSQ molecules have been simulated and structurally optimized using the Forcite tool as implemented in Materials Studio. Structurally optimized cyc-PSQs are highly symmetrical and regular with high stereoregularity, consistent with the dimensions of their experimentally derived structures. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that these macrocyclic compounds have excellent thermal stability. In addition to these perfectly structured compounds, macrocyclic compounds with the same ring ladder structure but bearing an additional Si-OH group, cyc-PSQs-OH, have also been synthesized. A possible mechanism for the formation of the closed-ring molecular structures of cyc-PSQs and cyc-PSQs-OH is proposed.

Abstract
This paper describes a simple, selective and sensitive colorimetric sensing of Cr6+ ions using β-Cyclodextrin (β-CD) functionalized gold-iron nanoparticles (β-CD/Au-FeNPs). The sonochemically synthesized nanoparticles are winered in colour due to the SPR band of β-CD functionalized bimetalic nanoparticles Au-FeNPs. The capping and stabilizing of Au-FeNPs by redox β-CD is confirmed by FT-IR. The particles are spherical in shape and it posses the effective diameter of 18-20 nm. Under optimized conditions, in the presence of Cr6+ the wine red Au-FeNPs solution was turned to colourless, accompanying the broadening and red shifting of SPR band. The ratio between the absorbance wavelength at 573 nm to 535 nm (A573/A535) is linearly correlated with the Cr6+ concentrations ranging from 50 nM to 500 nM, with a detection limit of Cr6+ of 2.5 nM was achieved for the first time using β-CD/Au-FeNPs by spectrophotometry. The selectivity of the β-CD/Au-FeNPs towards other interfering metal ions. Finally the proposed method has been successfully employed for the determination of Cr6+ ion in various industrial waste water with good recoveries.

Abstract
An electrochemically active sensing nanomaterial (denoted as CD-MPEA-NG) has been successfully constructed by an hierarchical self-assembly of cyclodextrin (CD) and N,N-dimethyl-4-(phenylethynyl)aniline (MPEA) on N-doped graphene (NG) in a low-temperature hydrothermal process. The unique nanostructure of the high-performance CD-MPEA-NG was confirmed by utilizing Fourier transform infrared spectra, an X-ray diffractometer, and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV), etc. In particular, the method of density functional theory with dispersion energy (DFT-D) of wB97XD/LanL2DZ was employed to optimize and describe the face-to-face packing structure of heterodimers of NG and MPEA. The CD-MPEA-NG sensor exhibits highly sensitive performance toward dihydroxybenzene isomers, without relying on expensive noble metal or a complicated preparation process. The experimental results demonstrate that given the synergistic effect of NG and MPEA as a coupled sensing platform, CD as a supramolecular cavity can significantly enhance the electrochemical response. The detection limits (S/N = 3) for catechol (CT), resorcinol (RS), and hydroquinone (HQ) are 0.008, 0.018, and 0.011 μM by DPV, respectively. Besides, the CD-MPEA-NG sensor shows a superb anti-interference, reproducibility, and stability, and satisfactory recovery aimed at detecting isomers in Nanjing River water. The encouraging performance as well as simplified preparation approach strongly support the CD-MPEA-NG sensor is a fascinating electrode to develop as a seamless and sensitive electroanalytical technique.
