Abstract
In this work, D-(-)-α-phenylglycine (APG)-functionalized magnetic nanocatalyst (Fe3O4@SiO2@PTS-APG) was designed and successfully prepared in order to implement the principles of green chemistry for the synthesis of polyhydroquinoline (PHQ) and 1,4-dihydropyridine (1,4-DHP) derivatives under ultrasonic irradiation in EtOH. After preparing of the nanocatalyst, its structure was confirmed by different spectroscopic methods or techniques including Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The performance of Fe3O4@SiO2@PTS-APG nanomaterial, as a heterogeneous catalyst for the Hantzsch condensation, was examined under ultrasonic irradiation and various conditions. The yield of products was controlled under various conditions to reach more than 84% in just 10 min, which indicates the high performance of the nanocatalyst along with the synergistic effect of ultrasonic irradiation. The structure of the products was identified by melting point as well as FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopic methods. The Fe3O4@SiO2@PTS-APG nanocatalyst is easily prepared from commercially available, lower toxic and thermally stable precursors through a cost-effective, highly efficient and environmentally friendly procedure. The advantages of this method include simplicity of the operation, reaction under mild conditions, the use of an environmentally benign irradiation source, obtaining pure products with high efficiency in short reaction times without using a tedious path, which all of them address important green chemistry principles. Finally, a reasonable mechanism is proposed for the preparation of polyhydroquinoline (PHQ) and 1,4-dihydropyridine (1,4-DHP) derivatives in the presence of Fe3O4@SiO2@PTS-APG bifunctional magnetic nanocatalyst.

Abstract
The reaction tolerance of the multicomponent process between 3-aminoazoles, 1-morpholino-2-nitroalkenes, and aldehydes was studied. The main patterns of this reaction have been established. Conditions for the oxidation of 4,7-dihydro-6-nitroazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines were selected. Previous claims that the 4,7-dihydro-6-nitroazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines could not be aromatised have now been refuted. Compounds with an electron-donor substituent at position seven undergo decomposition during oxidation. The phenomenon was explained based on experimental data, electro-chemical experiment, and quantum-chemical calculation. The mechanism of oxidative degradation has been proposed.

Abstract
This study describes in silico designing of aptamers against the influenza virus using Monte Carlo method. Aptamers are short, single-stranded oligonucleotides and these bind to an ample range of biologically important proteins which are related to many disease conditions. The affinities and specificities of aptamers are comparable to antibodies. In the medicinal chemistry, quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) is an important skill which is used for drug design and development. To study the inhibitory activity of aptamers, we have developed QSAR models based on Monte Carlo method. The nucleobase sequence descriptors Bk, BBk and BBBk are used to generate the QSAR models. A number of statistical benchmarks together with index of ideality of correlation (IIC) is considered to validate the build QSAR models. Data set of 98 aptamers is divided into four random splits. The statistical criteria R2 = 0.8711 and CCC = 0.9207 of the validation set of split 3 are best, so the build QSAR model of split 3 is the paramount model. The aptamer fragment responsible for the promotors of endpoint increase and decrease are also determined. These fragments are applied to design new nine aptamers from the lead aptamer APT01.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.

Abstract
Inorganic persulfate salts were identified as efficient reagents for the oxidative aromatization of 3,4-dihydroquinolin-2(1 H)-ones through the activation of readily available transition metals, such as iron and copper. The feasible protocol conforming to the requirement of green chemistry was utilized in the preparation of the key intermediate (7-(4-chlorobutoxy)quinolin-2(1 H)-one 2) of brexpiprazole in 80% isolated yield on a 100 g scale, and different quinolin-2(1 H)-one derivatives with various functional groups were demonstrated in 52-89% yields.
